Hi,
Just took some pictures of my S7 edge to sell it (as I got a S9+) and saw some weird green "line" on the right side of the screen (hard to describe - but I guess the picture shows clearly what I mean).
Is that something that I may fix on my own or would I have to replace the whole screen to repair it?
Just surprised that this green crap wasn't there when I used the device the last time.
Best regards,
Nestade
Nobody with a similar issue?
Screen is damaged, not repairable, the whole Display has to be changed. They look like burn marks?

Ok..so i've been using my TMOUS Hd2 for sometime, but suddenley i see a scary brown patch on the white screen of my hd2..like a ghost looking at me..you know i mean..my question here ,is it a faulty lcd? or motherboard issue? or digitizer? but hey wait let me tell you everything works fine..the touch is perfect no screen lags,no freeze on screen..working flawless only when the phone pulls up white background like browser & start up screen "stick together" overall any white background the brown patch shows up..can anyone confirm this issue..any fix? Please let me know.. appreciate all the help..thanks much
Attaching the pic of brown patch ghost sitting inside my Hd2
if it is located around the middle, top half of the creen, it could be pressure related to an expanding battery. Does the patch get worse if you press on it? It seems illogical that a glass screen would be susceptible to newtonian pressure rings, but in the case of an expanding battery, when you press the screen, the pressure is actually coming from the back.
I've had like a dozen HD2's, and first noticed it when I used an aftermaket battery, which after a few months started getting thicker and thicker and I noticed the newtonian pressure rings. If that's the case with you, go back to the stock battery, or take out the battery door and try it again to see if problem goes away. If it goes away, you know it's time for another $3 ebay battery!
@ atlaswing did you actually check the screenshot attached? the brown patch is not just in the middle it's starting from the bottom and going upward..like a volcano eruption..u know i mean?..i haven't used aftermarket battery, but yes i did buy one to keep it handy..so i'm using the original battery, but well i see that the water damage sticker on the phone battery outlet inside it looks white so its not water damaged i still got void sticker on..so never opened for service, but yes the sticker on battery has turned lil pinkish white..not red to be called water damaged.probably moisture or kinda stuff, but my concern is what i said above ,its like a brown patch all around the white screen, which don't make any issues with the usage or touch or any hang or freeze
Anyone know if this is an issue with the digitizer or just the lcd screen?
I would lean towards lcd but would need device in hand to be more sure.
lcd has a plastic film on it so could be an issue with that ...
Hello all, today I've noticed that my G2 has developed the infamous "black lines" accross the screen problem. I have black lines all over the screen vertically and horizontally. The lines appear to slighty flicker and they're constanly visible in all colors, but mostly in lighter colors. The phone is in a good state, few scratches here and there, dropped it once before (~0.5 ft height). The phone is around 10 months old and I use it intensely every day so I'd see if started happening after the drop, it didn't. My question is, does the warranty cover the screen replacement or adjustment (because I've read that it may happen because of the screen connector being loose) if it has the black lines problem? I don't want to open it myself and fiddle with the connectors because I don't have the skill required and I don't want to mess something up while it's still under warranty.
PS. Never unlocked/rooted/flashed, model D802
Thanks.

Warranty will cover it, when you contact them tell them you have tried all types of resets and factory restore.
They will issue you an RMA. Make sure you have the receipt of when you bought it, you will need to send it in with the phone.
I was going to send mine in for RMA but they wouldn't cover it under warranty because I bought it on EBay even though the actual phone was less than a year old.
I just picked up an otherwise mint Galaxy S5 off of Swapa. Unfortunately, we found out the screen has some burn-in issues There are a series of 3 faint lines approximately 3/4" inches from both the top and bottom of the screen. Additionally, there is a faint Samsung Galaxy logo in the middle of the screen. I have tried different wallpapers, opened up websites, and looked at white pictures and the images are still there.
Is there an easy fix for this? I saw there are some apps that may help to reduce the burn-in, but it seems to be a mixed bag. Also, I'm concerned that it would affect screen longevity.
The seller has been very responsive and has offered to either 1) take back the phone; 2) discount the phone; 3) take it to the Samsung repair center just down the road from him for warranty repair. Is there any advice how we should proceed?
Out of the 3 choices tell him to take it to the Samsung repair center. That way you should get a new replacement handset.
Sounds like it may have been an ex-display model if the logo is burned onto the screen, I agree with the above ^^ Samsung repair center
suddenly from today i noticed a red blured spot on my moto x style screen, which can be seen only on dark background like black and blue. You can see the attched screenshot. is this a problem with my lcd display? my phone is waranty so should i take my phone to service centre for any hardware problem?
Weird... I noticed the same exact thing for the last few days, in the same exact spot. I googled and got to this post.
I'm hoping its a sensor of some sort that can be turned off, but I'm pessimistic.
I chatted with support and they didn't seem to know what it was. Cleared cache, did a reset... didn't fix it. They've left me with send in and get repaired or get a replacement option. Ridiculous.
Um, is this a joke post? You took a screenshot of a hardware issue, screenshots are software. Only you will be able to see that, take a actual photo if you want us to see it. lol
Yeah, I noticed that too lol. However, the dot we are seeing is in the middle bottom half of the screen. Its def hardware related.
I'm currently facing this same issue. It appears 2/3rds from the top of the screen, directly in the center.
Hmm... this is starting to really piss me off. I''m readying myself to send in my device to repair.

Here is a screenshot of the red blurry dot. Nevermind the white dot as it's the light from my webcam...

You guys stock? I wonder if a custom ROM would solve it?
Yeah, I'm stock, unrooted.
I was just told by a chat rep that they are actually aware of this issue and its been escalated to a higher team. Take that for what you will...
I see a blue spot on a black black ground..... thats really weird

I had read online about people reporting blue and red spots on dark backgrounds... but not a whole lot of why or how it was fixed. I mailed my phone to be repaired...
Hello everyone,
Got a problem with my Galaxy note 3 amoled screen. Couple months ago some lines appeared on that, look like artefacts or dead pixels or something, not really sure. Didn't drop/drop in water the device before that. No idea why that happen. But, they don't go.
Tried some dead pixels apps from market with no success.
Due to certain reasons cannot give the device to repair service, so, need to try to fix that by myself.
OS version is 4.3, if that matters.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Will attach the screenshot. The line in the middle. Have few of them already. Background is green, to make it more visible.
Thanks!

Looks more like heat damage to the screen adhesive than a software/electronic defect, to me. I'm just guessing here, but could it have been left in a spot where a beam of focused light could burn the screen? Mine has a few little defects on the screen from where a water bottle on a window ledge focused the sunlight onto a point on the screen.
factory reset.
Flash stock rom and see .
Thanks for replies guys,
One more thing I probably should mention,
The line on the attached pic is maximized, the real lines are quite small, like 3-5mm length. Really small. But anyway visible...
Jaitsu,
Hmm tried to recall but don't think something like that happened. Sometimes I use my phone as GPS when riding bike, means it's outside under the sun (but not a focused light or something), max. 1 hour per time. Could that be reason?
Also, did you find any way to fix that, by yourself?
I read about several ways to fix screen issues, including leaving phone without battery for some time, or even placing it into the freezer. Tried battery method yesterday with no result, but kind of worry about the freezer...

Yes factory reset is a common advice but you really think it might help? Looks like a hardware issue to me. Can a software glitch damage the display? Also, lines are everywhere on the screen, not like one certain place.
Will give it a try if nothing else found, just, sounds uncommon...
Agree probably hardware but a factory reset rules out firmware .
Thats the first step for a service tech sheet .
