A co-worker of mine bought a Droid Turbo 2 on Verizon and they recently rolled out Marshmallow 6.0. Since the upgrade, if he completely deletes a text message thread to someone, and then goes to send that person a brand new message, it still shows the text history from the previous messages, even though they were deleted. Anyone else seen this issue or know if there is a way to get rid of that? I have looked at several other devices running 6.0 or 6.0.1 and they do not have this issue, like my Galaxy S4 running 6.0.1 does not have this problem. Setting somewhere? Thoughts?

50%+ of the time that I get picture messages on my Galaxy Tab, no matter who they are from, they show up as "Anonymous" with a message that "Can't be downloaded", thus preventing me from ever getting that picture.
What gives?
What rom are you running? is it rooted or stock?
I have had the same problem since yesterday
Hello all. After two years, my first HD2 croaked (touchscreen went out) a few weeks ago. Called T-Mobile, got a refurbished HD2. Had backed up my first HD2 using SPB Backup, so restored to the refurbished HD2. Initially had a problem with a Voicemail notification that wouldn't go away, but managed to solve that issue with the help of T-Mobile Tech Support. I have Cookie's Home Tab (v 1.7) installed.
I'm getting a notification in Quick Links that I have a new text message. But when I open text messaging, there is no new message there. However, if I erase the last EXISTING message that I received, the notification usually goes away. I've looked through all my texts, but there isn't one that hasn't been accessed / read. It seems that the phone can no longer tell if a message is truly new, or old. Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated!
By the way, I've already taken the step of removing my SIM card from the HD2 and putting it in another T-Mobile USA phone to see if, somehow, there was a message on there. None found. Thanks!
Hi,
I'm having some issues with old and new text messages combining. When I receive a message that is over the character limit for one (so is effectively 2 texts combined), the first half of the text is the new one and the second half is sometimes the second half of an old message. It gets very confusing when reading it, it doesn't happen to all messages and only seems to happen when I get texts form my girlfriend (although she is the only one who sends me long messages so that may be why!?).
I have had a little Google and it appears that their are other android devices that have had this issue. I cant seem to fins anything on here about it though so apologies if I'm starting a new thread for no reason - please redirect me. I am guessing it is a handset issue and not a Network issue. I am not sure it is caused my an app or what it is!? Does anyone else experience this issue and know a fix?
I have rooted 2.2 defy, system version: 34.9.6.1.MB525.T-Mobile.en.GB, Network: T-Mobile UK.
Thanks in advance for any help!
maybe its just a delay.
sometimes i meet this issure as well.(Handset SMS on CM7nightly)
Unfortunately I don't think it is a delay as I already have the second part (old message) of message on my phone. I think it is the phone combining the messages due to an error/bug.
Anyone else have any ideas?
Hi, I'm new to this forum.
I recently changed from Galaxy S4 to Galaxy S5 and for some time I stopped receiving text messages from most of the people that I normally text.
I'm not quite sure what the problem is, I have signal, can make phone calls, send text messages but they just won't come through if someone else sends them.
At first I thought it was because I was using Hangouts I my default messaging app, but recently I changed it back to the stock messages and still no improvement.
The thing is that if I put my sim card back to my Galaxy S4 the messages come to me in about 2 or 3 minutes, and then when I put it back to my S5 it starts to works fine. This is the 3rd time this has happened within 1 week or so.
Any suggestions? I searched for this problem but I couldn't find anything related.

Same problem here, maybe someone could help ?
Might you be on the T-Mobile variant? If so, the recently released firmware update supposedly fixes this ( or a similar? ) issue.

Friends of mine were at my house over the weekend and he had a samsung s4 and had the same problem after logging onto my wifi. It is the wifi causing the problem. I had an old modem and netgear router that we hooked up and then we were able to receive calls like you should. We switched out the modem/router combo on Sat to my older setup and my phone is still working normally! I called my dsl provider and told them about the problem as I just bought the modem/router combo from them recently.
They never heard of anything like this. I do find it hard to believe that the home wifi equipment disrutes the cell phone signal. But my phone is now working!!! Anyone ever heard of this or that can explain why this would happen I would love to hear about it.
I have a 930V with the 930U build installed that I have been running on Straight talk verizon towers for months on MM with no problems. Upgraded to the G930U Nougat build when it first came out and still had no problems. Last week I upgraded to the latest G930UUEU4BQE2 build on Verizon Straight Talk and my SMS problems started.
I can send MMS with no problems. When I try to send a SMS text the person I am sending to to will receive it just fine but on my end it times out and says message not sent. I can receive texts and MMS just fine.
When I send another text, it tries to resend again all the texts that have timed out only to time out again and say messages not sent.
I have reinstalled all builds before the latest 4BQ2 and they all work ok with SMS and MMS with no problems, it is just the most current build 4BQE2 and only on Verizon Straight Talk.
Changing to a AT&T Straight Talk Sim with the 4BQ2 build and everything works ok.
Anyone else having these problems and have figured out what is going on?
I too have this problem. I was beginning to believe an app was running the phone in the background making it unable to send messages. And I was not receiving messages either I have found that darling my voicemail and hanging up immediately I receive text messages and all outgoing messages are sent.
I reset the phone because I found a dea running service that I searched on Google to find that my medication could be the reason this service was running. Weird!!! Freaked me out, I reset the phone and no longer see the service running.
Also...i have noticed that if I pull the notification menu down, the nearby devices button would be blue and quickly change to gray. Have you noticed this?
Lastly, I'm unable to restart in safe mode on either my s7 or s6 both with nougat update, both are Verizon builds running straight talk sim network
