50%+ of the time that I get picture messages on my Galaxy Tab, no matter who they are from, they show up as "Anonymous" with a message that "Can't be downloaded", thus preventing me from ever getting that picture.
What gives?
What rom are you running? is it rooted or stock?
I have had the same problem since yesterday

Hi
I recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy 3 I5801 phone using the instructions and file given on the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=778880
I observed that since then after 5-10 min of booting the phone and/or occasionally a "sending" toast appears after which i get another toast about my balance and other info which the network sends me. No balance is used as my SMS are free. My data service is off at this time, so i am assuming its an sms.
I cant get any proof of a sms sent on the messages app however.
First i thought it was some app i installed, but after rooting, i upgraded from 2.1 to 2.2. This problem still continued.
Whats happening and whats the solution?
Anyone faced this problem?
Also after upgrading i used another method to root.
The problem still continues.
Hello all. After two years, my first HD2 croaked (touchscreen went out) a few weeks ago. Called T-Mobile, got a refurbished HD2. Had backed up my first HD2 using SPB Backup, so restored to the refurbished HD2. Initially had a problem with a Voicemail notification that wouldn't go away, but managed to solve that issue with the help of T-Mobile Tech Support. I have Cookie's Home Tab (v 1.7) installed.
I'm getting a notification in Quick Links that I have a new text message. But when I open text messaging, there is no new message there. However, if I erase the last EXISTING message that I received, the notification usually goes away. I've looked through all my texts, but there isn't one that hasn't been accessed / read. It seems that the phone can no longer tell if a message is truly new, or old. Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated!
By the way, I've already taken the step of removing my SIM card from the HD2 and putting it in another T-Mobile USA phone to see if, somehow, there was a message on there. None found. Thanks!
Hi, I have a strange problem. Whenever someone sends me a picture message I need them to send it twice in order to get the first message to download. If who ever is sending the picture only sends it once it will never download no matter how long I wait or how many times I click on 'download'.
I am rooted on the Telus network running Bobcat Rom v9. I had v7 and at first the picture would download but this problem eventually started, I have tried wiping and re-wiping and eventually updating to v9.
I have confirmed my apn settings many times. I was hoping that someone has experienced this before or at least heard about it. I tired searching this problem on Google and on the forms but perhaps I am not wording it correctly.
I am never connected to WiFi.
A co-worker of mine bought a Droid Turbo 2 on Verizon and they recently rolled out Marshmallow 6.0. Since the upgrade, if he completely deletes a text message thread to someone, and then goes to send that person a brand new message, it still shows the text history from the previous messages, even though they were deleted. Anyone else seen this issue or know if there is a way to get rid of that? I have looked at several other devices running 6.0 or 6.0.1 and they do not have this issue, like my Galaxy S4 running 6.0.1 does not have this problem. Setting somewhere? Thoughts?
Hey all, I'm using a Galaxy S7 Edge (international ver, so G935F) on Android 6.0.1.
Recently I've been running into a few problems with my messaging app (texting in general, actually). More specifically, my MMS features seem to be acting up. I can't receive any group messages, and when people send me pictures through texting, I have to manually download them in order to see them. Downloading only works about half of the time. When it doesn't work, I'll get a message that says "Failed to download. Try again later."
After digging around a bit, I realized that my Enhanced Messaging setting was disabled. Whenever I try to turn it on, I get a loading wheel for about three seconds and a message pops up that says "Failed to enable Enhanced messaging. Check your network connection and try again." I distinctly remember it being enabled in the past, and I believe it was before I started having all these problems.
Anyway, I figured that some of my tampering to the phone may have negatively affected my messaging, so I went ahead and uninstalled my Xposed Framework. No luck, the problem still persisted. I even went as far as to flashing my stock firmware to unroot my phone, but I still cannot get my Enhanced Messaging to turn back on.
Anybody have any experience with this? I'm stuck in a rut here because group messaging is pretty important in my life :\
Thanks in advance!
