I'm unable to get CWM to boot past the Go Go Go text.
My phone had a bad screen and was replaced by a repair shop here locally. But before fixing it I though the ROM may have been bad. I flashed the ROM back using CWM as usual and I could see the ROM load but due to the bad screen I couldn't test it. After getting it back from the repair shop I couldn't get it to boot.
Here are the specifics on what I've done:
1. Ran Task29 via the HD2 NAND Toolkit in bootloader (installed correctly, powered off and reset back into Bootloader).
2. Installed HSPL 2.08
Installed MAGLDR Repartition (250 MB) in bootloader (shows 100% status bar and restarts and now populates to the MAGLDR list).
3. Select the USB Flasher option and connect my phone (displays USB...USB). Select MAGLDR Update Recovery, this then populates a new screen but when I click a button to start the install it freezes at Pushing Image Flasher ...
I've tried connecting the phone in Bootloader and launching it again and it shows that daemon (sp?) is not active on a port, starts it but nothing else happens.
I've also tried running DAF.exe (v1.13) and it will see the phone, update to 100% (shows Splash Screen) and power cycles, but when I try to launch CWM it freezes after Go Go Go.
I've switched computers (Win 2000 and Window 7), swapped USB ports (computer recognizes when connected), tried swapping my sdcard with my working one, hard reset button, Up/Down together in Bootloader and reset to default, even manually added the zimage/initrd.gz to the directory, but so far nothing.
Is there something with the new screen that could cause problems? I think that it's working correctly as the HTC status bar and splashscreen come up when loading MAGLDR but I've not been able to actually test the touchscreen since I can't boot Recovery?
Any ideas? Is there a way to manually add Recovery to a phone without going through the DAF.exe or HD2tools?

ROM Manager can be used only by CLK Bootloader users, using it will mess with your CWM installation. I remember i had installed ROM Manager and CWM once from market and used it and it messed my CWM, since then i use CWM only by accesing through MAGLDR, i'd advise You that too.
First: Magldr Update Recovery is to update MAGLDR, not to flash CWM, i read it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14030019&postcount=1
Second: SPL is not deleted by Task29, no need to flash it again.
Third: Why do you need to repartition your phone? What ROM you want to flash?
You must also flash a proper RADIO if you don`t have it.

For the life of me, the MAGLDR menu refuses to show (Boot AD NANDE, USB Flasher, etc). The program itself will start up, but not the menu. I've put HSPL2.08 and the 2.15.50.14 radio on the phone. I actually had an Android ROM booted before, but wanted to try a WP7 rom, which acted like it wanted to boot up, but never did. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I've been rebooted this phone for the past 4 hours trying to get it to show the menu, but nothing. Any idea what the problem could be?
just to double check the process, , you need to be holding the power (end) button from during the first splash screen, and dont let go till the menu appears.
Still not giving me anything. I'm not sure what to do from here.
double check your spl, (bootloader, must say 2.08,hspl next to 'spl', , dont assume it, check it.)
since this came from a failed wp7 flash, id be very tempted to either flash a stock rom, or do a task 29, to get it back to blank, then magldr, CWM, rom.
Couple of questions:
1. What is task 29? (sounds like formatting)
2. How do I flash CWM from a fresh Magldr install? I got an Android ROM ready to install through DFT, but would prefer to flash through CWM from now on. Thanks for your help, btw.
Ok this is what you need to do...
1. Download task29 to your computer. Unzip to a folder on your computer.
look here for the task29 zip (I use this one) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5848003&postcount=19 Enter bootloader screen and run DAF as admin this will run through setup. After setup phone will reboot, this is where you start step #2.
2. Make sure you have a copy of MAGLDR which can be found here...Do the same, extract to a file on your computer.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10197474&postcount=1 Enter bootloader, run ROM update utility as admin. The phone will install magldr1.13. Now on to step three...
3. You will reboot phone into MAGLDR by holding red power button down till you enter into MAGLDR go down to option 5...USB Flasher this is what you want to choose to setup your partition. Some ROM builds have specific partitions that work with their ROMS like the one I use which can be found here.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915159
If you are going to use DFT builds go ahead but CWM is so much easier trust me, but just in case here is a link for some standard partitions for CWM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913
4. After you have done all this and have a partition setup it is time again to reboot into bootloader...choose option 5 for DFT builds and flash your ROM. Choose option 8 for CWM and install your build zip file.
Why would MAGLDR's menu refuse to pop up even if I hold down the power button? I have to constantly reboot it for half an hour before it decides to pop up, and even then, flashing fails virtually the whole time. This is getting frustrating. I'm an experienced flasher, having played with a Droid 1 and EVO for the past year, yet this phone is giving me problems like I don't know what I'm doing.
Did you try the steps outlined in my last post? You need to run a task 29 and start from scratch. Your MAGLDR download likely has a corrupt file.

Task 29 link you provided is freezing at 38%. I've pretty much given up on this phone.
*edit* Started over, and it worked, but didn't reboot the phone properly. One problem after another.
*edit 2* Pulled the battery, went into bootloader, flashed the MAGLDR, finished, but also didn't reboot phone properly. What could be the problem with that?
What do you mean by it did not reboot the phone properly?
Phone didn't reboot to splash, just a black screen. I've given up on this phone. I've tried for the past two days to get it going, and I've deleted all files associated to the phone. I'm glad this isn't my phone.
I usually get this with MAGLDR. Sometimes it just shows the info at the top, others, it goes to a white screen. I usually just soft reset it from the little button inside the battery cover. Or else, boot to HSPL, then Task 29.
I use a program called 'AdvancedLeoRUU'. I think this is it. Not too sure though. Try it out. You run the RomUpdateUtility to run the Task 29 btw.
I have searched and could not find a thread with the exact problem I have, I hope I did not miss it if there is one.
I tried to install android and followed this guide, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477 and I was in android working fine. Then I tried to install Clockwork Mod through active sync and things went completely downhill from there. Long story short I tried to flash it back to where i was and now I cannot boot into windows since it's gone and when i try to boot into android it says Fatal HIT 1 or something like that. Is there a way to put a rom onto my sdcard and flash it without having to use active sync or anything like that?
The menu I can access is the MAGLDR menu so I can do USB Flasher and such. I have tried reflashing with DFT_Android but when i get to the point to reboot it just stays on that screen and I have to pull the battery out then I am back to square 1. Now when I try to flash with DFT_Android through usb flasher I get the RSPL.cpp (723) error.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT:
I found a fix for the USB flasher error from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895655, I just put those 2 files in with the DFT_Android folder and ran the DAF.exe now it is flashed again but still does not restart itself. If I can get it to restart itself I can boot into android.

From what I understand you have problems with installing Android and MAGLDR, and you want to revert to your stock ROM. Here is a link read carefully instructions:
Flashing 512 LEO: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
Flashing 1024 LEO: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
I got the We hacked it screen and now I am trying DFT_Android flash again. Thanks for the quick response hopefully it will boot into droid now if so then I will just leave it there.
Well it finished flashing but the phone did not restart, how do I fix that? Should I downgrade to an older version of MAGLDR, like 1.11 or 1.12?
EDIT: I made some progress, I got as far as the white HTC splash screen then it showed the android notification bar and a bar that said News under it and the rest of the screen was black, then the phone froze there. I pulled out the battery and tried to Boot an Nand and it said NAND Kernel load failure.
Okay I am now in android, last time I was in droid I tried to flash clockwork mod through usb since I did not have an sd card at the time and that is what messed up the phone.
The only problem now is when I flash to Hyperdroid CM7 through clockwork mod it does not boot into android it just goes to MAGLDR and when I select Boot AD NAND it says kernel failure
Quick update, I got into android and set it all up but when i reboot or turn the phone on it goes to the MAGLDR menu, how can I get it to boot straight into android?

Do you mean it loads the menu then stops on menu or loads magldr then loads Android?
If its the latter then thats what its supposed to do.

It just shows MAGLDR but no menu and I have to take out the battery, hold the power button to get the menu then select Boot AD NAND to get into Android but most of the time it just stays on the GO GO GO! screen and I have to reflash clockwork mod then the rom and then it loads android fine when i select Boot AD NAND.
Oh I just put the battery back in and just turned the phone to see if it will boot into android and it is. lol I guess i just needed to wait little longer.
Thank you both very much
Hi Doat,
What you need to do is download a stock rom in the language your device was shipped.
* Extract the exe (right klick) and rename the RUU_Signed.nbh to LEOIMG.nbh
* Copy it to your storage card
* Put your device in bootloader (just take the battery out and in and press volume down+power off button at the same time)
* Follow the on screen instructions
That should bring you back to stock rom.
This will bring everything back to factory defaults including the SPL, so if you like to flash a custom rom after you need to flash HSPL again.
Grtz, Leo
Thanks for posting it up anyway it is good to know in case I have to revert back to stock, I really appreciate it.
Maybe I misunderstood your post, I taught you were stuck on boot with MAGLDR.

Sorry about the confusion I was just stuck on booting into android.
HI there so i bought a used HD2 wich came with ICS installed when it arrived i turned it on and loaded MAGLDR then it tried to load Android but got stuck at the GO GO GO! line. As i dont have any drivers installed and Windows doesnt recognize the HD2 in MAGLDR i cant flash a new rom. I wanted to do a Task 29 but that requires drivers too.
So my question is how do i perform a full wipe so i can get a working rom since the phone turns on, shows the TMobile splash screen then goes into Magldr and tries to boot android immediately then get sutck in GO GO GO!.
hold power button until magldr menu appear
in ad recovery you can wipe anything

files you need: (if you need pm me)
-task29
-Radio Leo 2.15.50.14
-DFT_LEO_MAGLDR113_DAF

do these: (from your current WP7 rom)
-restart device
-get into tricolor bootloader
-plug usb...hd2 should say 'USB'
-do a task 29
-get into bootloader again
-plug usb...hd2 should say 'USB'
-install radio by running 'CustomRUU.exe'
-get into tricolor bootloader
-plug usb...hd2 should say 'USB'
-run DAF.exe for installing MAGLDR
-reboot
-get into MAGLDR by holing power/end key while booting
-go to 'usb flasher' in the menu and press green/call button
-plug usb...hd2 should say 'USB'
-wait till it say 'wait usb...usb'
-get into your recovery folder
-run daf.exe
-reboot post completion
-get into MAGLDR by holing power/end key while booting
-get into ad-recovery
-get into mount storage
-activate usb mass storage
-now put the rom zip files into sd card
-press power to get back to recovery menu
-select install rom from sdcard
-choose rom file
-select install
this should typically install nandroid into your hd2...
if you face any issues, share the step and the error scenario/msg
I tried to get task29 but my PC doesn't recognize the hd2 even on bootloader.

Edit: So i managed to get the drivers and got the phone recognized, so i performed task 29, worked perfectly. Followed the steps but when i try to install a radio it fails and gets stuck at 96%. I tried flashing the radio several times but no luck... What am i doing wrong?
It's better if you download the drivers because it's useful for later needs...

I got the drivers, my PC finally got a connection with the HD2 so i performed a task29 and wiped the phone then i followed your guide tried to install the radio but the process with CustomRUU.exe got stuck at 96% and said there was an error "this update utility can not be used on your device." and now the phone shows an Update Fail screen without a radio i cant install MAGLDr then install WP7 on it so what can i do?

Okay sorry I should've explained more..
yes you have to have a radio.
Yes you can install ics beta 10 with clk.
No you cannot install wp7 with clk magldr is required for that.
If your phone is getting close to running out of battery I would flash clk 1.5 via SD card and then charge the phone up

Its happened to me before. Make sure as soon as you flash magldr, thats you clear mbr on sd card and use last 24 nand, and you will be fine, otherwise you will stay stuck on go go go go
good luck!
Yep.. thats a problem for you, but also for me, i have HTC HD2 fully working, just replaced digitzier soon, WinMo just works flawless thought it sucks ballls, and whenever i try to do task 29 then install radio then install magldr then install cwm with the required partition, i get stuck on GO GO GO! ..
I've already look through the other threads of users with the same issue, but none seem to have exactly the answer I'm looking for.
I was running windows phone 7 on my htc hd2, which was easy enough to do.
but yesterday I decided I wanted to put android back onto it, so I downloaded
Energy_2.8.2012.SensationXL from here. Followed all the steps in the thread, but now everytime I turn on the phone I get the error "NAND yaffs2 boot mount failed" and then just clicks straight over to the boot menu
so, as stated in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971268 I tried to "task29" the phone through the HD2 Toolkit app, and start again.
But all I get when trying to: task 29, update to/ install magldr 1.13 or clockwork, it just gives me an error [264] connection.
I'm unable to get onto the tri-coloured usb flashing screen that I used when I put WP7 on it, i've tried putting it in 'usb flasher' mode from the menu to no avail..
is there somehow a way to put the new ROM I downloaded ^^^^ onto the phone by switching it over to mass storage mode,
and then selectiong option 3: boot AD NAND?
how about return to WM,then try task29 and MAG or CLK

I've always done the task29 and wiped it via HD2 Toolkit, but it's still stuck on the magldr boot menu
does the USB flasher option be the same at the bootloader (three-coloured screen) for flashing the new android rom?
If I simply loaded the android rom onto the SD card via an adapter, would that work if I went through the MAGLDR boot menu?
EG: 9: services, 1: boot settings, 1: boot source, 1: android from sd
..yes?
I'm at my wits end here guys!
I'm well aware of how to get into the three coloured bootloader screen, but the HD2 just wont do it!
I've done it numerous times before with this very handset from WM 6.5, then android (can't remember what version) , then WP7, and now it's decided to stop doing it when I want to go back to android, and the task29 has wiped it all, so I can't even simply revert back to WM6.5..
if someone could give me some step-by-step instructions on either a nand or SD android rom and the steps I need to take to get it working with that, bearing in mind the 'stuck on magldr' issue I have.
I can't remember if I stated it in my previous post but ever since I did the task 29, anything I try to do ie: update magldr to v1.13, update clockwork, or anything like that, it just give me an error saying it isn't connected via usb.

Yes, I agree with the others.
When I try a new ROM and it fails for some reason or another, I always just go back to win6.5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283) and start over.
A bit of a hassle, but have found this to be the most reliable way so far.

When flash back to 6.5... you don't need a computer. All you need is an SD card. Download the correct file that matches to your country... extract the file... pull out the nbh file and rename it leo... then place it on the root of your SD... then boot.
This is a short run down of how to get it back to stock. Search a little... cause I know there is a thread that tells you how to do it in detail... plus it have all the files that you'll need.

Hi, Tried installing my first Nexus ICS Android on HTC HD2
following instruction here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860
Got to the point where I got MAGLDR v1.13 installed and running.
Then found that I needed HD2 Android NAND Tool and Repartitioned System size to 200 Mb
using USB flasher mode on the MAGLDR.
Then NAND Tool suggested that running Wipe(taks 29) to be a good idea before attempting to install Android so I tried running this as well.
I got the phone into tri-colour USB mode and started wipe. USB mode disappeared replaced by HTC progress bar but it got stuck at 0% and timedout.
I tried recovering to HTC original WWE ROM but it also gets stuck at 0% progress.
Currently Bootloader starts and loads a options, I can also go into USB mode but nothing will start updating the phone it gets stuck at 0%.
I think what repartitioning created a problem but I am unsure how to recover it and need your help!

Wrong forum, should be in the Q&A. You'd have thought it would be obvious, seeing as you're asking a QUESTION, but somehow people don't pick that up
Also, you really need to read more. There isn't any point in installing MAGLDR then Task29ing, in fact there is very little point in Task29ing at all unless you experience major problems with your phone. A simple data wipe (in CWM) and repartition has never failed me.
If you did a task 29 after doing the other steps first then you wiped everything back off. Install magldr again then CWM and then install your rom of choice.
Also for being a member since 2005 you should know not to EVER post a question in development.
Mods please move to Q&A

Sorry for posting it in the wrong forum.
Many thanks for the comments...I cannot install anything at present because once update process starts it times out at 0%. Task29 did not work either - it also gets stuck at 0%.
Only thing that works is Boot loader and USB mode.
As Boot loader is working I tried to install NAND Android following this instruction:
2. FLASH YOUR ANDROID ROM
The Original NAND Android Thread by Cotulla is *HERE*
NOTE1: This section is only applicable AFTER you have flashed MAGLDR to your Device
NOTE2: Make sure your phone is still connected via usb cable before starting
* When your phone Reboots it will Enter the MAGLDR Boot Menu Screen *
1. Press the 'Volume Down' button to goto Option 5: USB Flasher and press the 'Call' button (far left of the 5 hardware buttons at the bottom)
2. The menu will enter Android Flasher mode and install usb drivers if not present
3. Browse to the folder you extracted your NAND Android Package files to on your pc, right click on Run DAF.exe (or Install.exe if DAF.exe isnt present) and select Run as Administrator
But DAF is giving this error back:
Error happen
Read below for more information
Error Description: USB init failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (723)
thats all old instructuions.
go get the nand toolkit, and also get hspl3
...
phone into bootloader (tri colour screen, not magldr)
connect usb
run hspl3
choose 2.08.hspl (don't assume its already 2.08.hspl, check it, hanging at 0% is often a sign of no hspl)
when reboots immediately go back into bootloader
*(* from here on you can do all this in the nand toolkit*)*
flash magldr
when it reboots enter magldr
(if phone hangs on a htc screen and doesn't show magldr, you need to flash radio 2.15.50)
phone into magldr
connect usb
choose 'usb flasher'
in toolkit select desired system partition size and cache size
when its finished
phone back into magldr
choose 'ad nand'
this starts cwm
(if you havent yet partitioned your sd card with an ext partitio, look ity up and do it now)
select 'install zip from sd'
select zip from sd
browse to where you dropped the rom.zip file onto your sd card.
when it reboots you're done, , alternatively it failed somewhere, , which step?
if you get apparent driver errors, theres a nice big button called drivers in the toolkit (i think?)
Many thanks that worked like clockwork
