I've already look through the other threads of users with the same issue, but none seem to have exactly the answer I'm looking for.
I was running windows phone 7 on my htc hd2, which was easy enough to do.
but yesterday I decided I wanted to put android back onto it, so I downloaded
Energy_2.8.2012.SensationXL from here. Followed all the steps in the thread, but now everytime I turn on the phone I get the error "NAND yaffs2 boot mount failed" and then just clicks straight over to the boot menu
so, as stated in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971268 I tried to "task29" the phone through the HD2 Toolkit app, and start again.
But all I get when trying to: task 29, update to/ install magldr 1.13 or clockwork, it just gives me an error [264] connection.
I'm unable to get onto the tri-coloured usb flashing screen that I used when I put WP7 on it, i've tried putting it in 'usb flasher' mode from the menu to no avail..
is there somehow a way to put the new ROM I downloaded ^^^^ onto the phone by switching it over to mass storage mode,
and then selectiong option 3: boot AD NAND?
how about return to WM,then try task29 and MAG or CLK

I've always done the task29 and wiped it via HD2 Toolkit, but it's still stuck on the magldr boot menu
does the USB flasher option be the same at the bootloader (three-coloured screen) for flashing the new android rom?
If I simply loaded the android rom onto the SD card via an adapter, would that work if I went through the MAGLDR boot menu?
EG: 9: services, 1: boot settings, 1: boot source, 1: android from sd
..yes?
I'm at my wits end here guys!
I'm well aware of how to get into the three coloured bootloader screen, but the HD2 just wont do it!
I've done it numerous times before with this very handset from WM 6.5, then android (can't remember what version) , then WP7, and now it's decided to stop doing it when I want to go back to android, and the task29 has wiped it all, so I can't even simply revert back to WM6.5..
if someone could give me some step-by-step instructions on either a nand or SD android rom and the steps I need to take to get it working with that, bearing in mind the 'stuck on magldr' issue I have.
I can't remember if I stated it in my previous post but ever since I did the task 29, anything I try to do ie: update magldr to v1.13, update clockwork, or anything like that, it just give me an error saying it isn't connected via usb.
and now (started a few min ago) it isn't being recognised by the computer when I plug it in, even if i try and use 'mass storage' from the menu, whereas yesterday it was

Try flashing it back to window 6.5.... nbh.img?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Yes, I agree with the others.
When I try a new ROM and it fails for some reason or another, I always just go back to win6.5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283) and start over.
A bit of a hassle, but have found this to be the most reliable way so far.

When flash back to 6.5... you don't need a computer. All you need is an SD card. Download the correct file that matches to your country... extract the file... pull out the nbh file and rename it leo... then place it on the root of your SD... then boot.
This is a short run down of how to get it back to stock. Search a little... cause I know there is a thread that tells you how to do it in detail... plus it have all the files that you'll need.

How To Install A NAND Android ROM On Your T-Mobile HD2
(I am linking to several Original Threads in this tutorial. The "Nice Thing To Do" is hit the "Thanks" button at the bottom of those threads to let the author know we appreciate their help)
mskip wrote an excellent tut over on the Leo forums. I used his instructions to create my own method, which has never given me issues.
My method has been used by others and has a 100% success rate as of this writing.
You MUST be HSPL'd. This is not a joke. If you attempt this method without HSPL, your phone won't boot. I can not help you if you do this. If you have the 3.14 radio, try flashing: this stock ROM before HSPL. Thanks to xmoo for the link! Original thread is here.
Read the following steps. If you're confused, read the explanations below.
(Preparing)
Folder: Create a new folder on your Desktop. I named mine Flash. Put all downloads here.
HSPL: Cotulla's HSPL 3 is located here. (Original thread is here)
Task29: Download the Task29.exe program located here. Unzip it to a new folder. Replace the RUU_Signed.nbh file with your favorite radio. I use 2.15.50.14 (Original thread is here)
MAGLDR: Get MAGLDR 1.11 (or the latest version!) located here. Unzip this to a new folder.
ROM: Visit HD2 NAND Android Development thread here on XDA and download your new ROM. I am currently using this one, but will probably have a different one tomorrow Unzip this to a new folder.
SD Card: Back up everything you want to keep from your SD card, and then format it. Hint: dcim is where your pictures are stored (File System: Fat32, Allocation unit size: 16 kilobytes) Personally, I like to uncheck the "Quick format"; it takes up to an hour but ensures my card is in the best shape possible. Once your format is complete, you may replace your backed up files.
(Flashing)
(*Optional: Remove your SD and SIM cards, if you are paranoid, like me )
Connect your phone via USB to the PC and wait for any drivers to install.
Task29: Navigate to the Task29 folder and right-click on task29.exe and "Run as administrator". Your phone will reboot to the initial flash screen. You will have to reset to Bootloader.
Wait for your PC to update the drivers again.
MAGLDR: Navigate to the MAGDLR folder and right-click on ROMUpdateUtility.exe and "Run as administrator". Your phone will reboot to a new boot screen.
Wait for your PC to update the drivers again.
You should be booted to the new MAGLDR screen and see a series of options. Use your volume rocker to highlight "USB Flash" and press the green call button to select it.
Wait for your PC to update the drivers again.
ROM: Navigate to your new ROM folder and right-click DAF.exe and "Run as administrator".
Congratulations! When your phone reboots, it should start MAGLDR which will immediately boot your new Android NAND ROM!
Now, here are the details about the above instructions. You should only need them if you are confused.
(Preparing)
I use this to keep myself organized. I own several HTC phones and flash them all, so keeping things separate is a must for me.
Having a Hard Secondary Program Loader is a must for any NAND flash, whether it be Windows Mobile or Android. This will void your T-Mobile warranty, but can be fixed by flashing a Stock T-Mobile ROM via your microSD card. Check my sig for the tutorial link on how to do that.
This is the easiest method to do a task 29. The other is using mtty, which is beyond the scope of this tutorial. Task29 completely erases the existing files and partitions, preventing any loose data bits from causing issues with a new flash. You should always Task29 between NAND ROMs.
MAGLDR: A group of devs have been working on a NAND loader for some time and Cotulla and the Dark Forces Team (DAF) were the first to release a working loader. There may be more to come in the future, but this is the first (and has Tetris built in )
You should never ask the "best ROM for my phone" question. Every chef works hard on their build and considers it the best. Every user has their favorite chef and considers them the best. You should shop around to find the one that fits you best.
I consider formatting the SD card a must if I have any data written to it by a ROM. If you have installed Android to your card, you definitely want to do this!
(Flashing)
Your phone will boot into several different modes throughout the process. Each mode may require separate drives for WMDC to talk to it.
To reset to your bootloader, pull the battery and replace it. Hold down the "Volume Down" rocker and press the power (End Call) button. The phone should boot up to the tri-color screen. If it did not, keep trying!
Your PC may not need to search for drivers at this point, but wait and see anyway, just in case
MAGDLR will work as your new bootloader, but you can always access the original tri-color bootloader if you need to.
Don't worry if you get the missing "ADB" driver warning here. Only PCs with the Android SDK properly installed will have this driver.
You must flash your new ROM from the #4 screen via USB. It is the only way and the tri-color Bootloader method won't work here.
Again, you can ignore the missing "ADB" driver if it occurs. See above x2 for explanation.
Some chefs are renaming "DAF.exe" to "Install.exe" or "ANDR_INSTALL.exe". No matter what it's named, it should be the blue icon. See your ROM thread for detailed installation instructions if you get confused here.
Hope this helps!

Error 262 means there is a link error between your phone and the PC. Some have solved this by re-installing ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center. Some people said it was solved by simply unplugging the phone and trying a different USB port or cable.
After installing android rom in nand, device continously reboots
I followed all your steps and installed everything (there war an error encountered while installing the rom in the last step) but when my phone boots into android, after about a minute it will just restart itself and continue the same over and over without ever fully going into android.
can you please tell me how to get over this?

It looks like the Android build you chose is either incompatible or was somehow corrupted when you downloaded it.
I suggest you delete the copy you have on your PC and download a different ROM, and then start over again.
Since there was an error, you don't want to try a fresh install without a task 29 and reinstalling hspl.
If you are using the Euro version of the HD2, don't try to install a TMOUS ROM, and vice versa. If you aren't sure, ask the chef who posted the ROM you want.
Hope this helps!

One thing that was specified but not in the steps was HSPL. If you don't have that, you can't flash.
After having a bit of problem using the original tut you reference in your first post(basically it got locked on gogogo and a variety of problems thereafter), I am very happy to report that your variation on the method not only worked for me, but worked on the first attempt. And it has thus far done so each time I have tried it since. You cannot imagine my relief after all the frustration I had previously. So just wanted to let you know how helpful I found your post. Thanks!
The only edit I would suggest is that I believe USB Flashing is option 5 now instead of 4.
FWIW I was originally on ROM 2.13.531.1 (90963) WWE with Radio 2.10.50.26(now on 2.14.50.04).

I just tried a fresh download of MAGLDR 1.11 and the option is still #4. Did you perchance grab version 1.12?
It would still work, but 1.12 gives you the additional option of installing and Windows 7 Phone ROM.
Yes on MAGLDR the option is 5 instead of 4.
Other than that, and the part about removing your sim and SD card, looks like an excellent guide.

I am updating the tutorial to reflect on the changing menu numbers, thank you!
As far as the SIM and SD card removal, I did mention that this is optional but recommended. Yes, I realize that this is from the early days of flashing and is more than likely not needed, but in my defense this is my own method and I have never, ever had a bad flash. I've owned several HTC phones going back for a few years now and have not bricked a single one. I would consider that a pretty good track record, considering the number of posters who did brick their phone and have no idea what went wrong.
In light of your input, I will re-word the OT to ensure that the "optional" part is clarified.
Oh I totally hear ya.
I've never had a bad flash either. I think that some of the "Brickensteins" just do something wrong and don't mention it (like unplugging the phone mid-flash).
In your favor, I did read in one of the WP7 tutorials that the sd card should be removed, but since I don't plan on flashing that any time soon, I'll leave that wisdom with wiser hands
Thank you very much

Ok do this hold the volume button down while powering on your HD2 and see if the multicolor bootloader screen comes up. If so you are not fubared. If you get bootloader you can save your HD2. Click on my Guide linked in my sig and read it then click the links at the top of my guide if you want to install Android or the link for WP7 if you want to install it. The links I have at the top of my guide are links to very good and extensive guide. If you want come post back here and I or others will help you and if you want to just PM me.

You are using MAGLDR 1.13, not 1.11. On 1.13 (not covered by this tutorial), you have to choose "ROMUpdateUtility.exe", not "DAF.exe".
It is said that you have to hold the power button to load MAGLDR after resetting the phone, but when I reset the phone it automatically boots to MAGLDR, instead of WM 6.5. Can you guys tell me how to access WM 6.5 from MAGLDR?
I forgot to mention that I always get this message before it boots to MAGLDR after resetting.
Rebooting Android from SD
Android loads at 11000000
From MicroSD
Load zIMAGE
K:\ zIMAGE
SD Kernal Open Failed.
Should I be concerned?
I haven't installed Android yet, but I'm in the process of installing Clockwork 1.3
I also tried to do a factory reset through MAGLDR, but it only goes back to the MAGLDR main screen. Help? Please?
First of all, use the "edit post" button to add text to the first post instead of making two new
Yesterday I got the exact same problem. Someone said that it is because the MAGLDR can't see the wrongly flashed ROM. However, I did not notice that it is something wrong with it.
What ROM do you have and which HSPL version ?
I had WinMo 1.46 stock and HSPL 2.08
my apologies.
stock? i'm using Radio 2.15 HSPL 2.08
did you correct your problem?
would it be safe to manually hard reset?
You can't boot Windows Mobile 6.5 if you have MAGLDR installed. But there is simply way back - just run RUU with stock 1.48 ROM on your PC, while having your HD2 connected to PC (phone has to be in bootloader, that rainbow screen).
I didn't correct my problem. I had to flash WinMo back from the SD card but the raven_raven's method is also possible.
So raven, why I can't boot into WinMo with MAGLDR? I've seen many people doing that by not keeping the power button pressed
From what I know, it's impossible to boot into WM6.5 if you have MAGLDR on your device. Its purpose is to load Linux kernel, not WM .
I'm kinda confused right now
If you flashed MAGLDR, why would you want to use WinMo? The main purpose of MAGLDR is to boot Android/WP7 on the NAND. It over-writes the WinMo you had on it before.
The error you're getting, you shouldn't be worried about it at all. All it is is that you haven't flashed a ROM yet. What do you mean you're in the process of flashing Clockwork? It's not hard... just flash the DFT file on your PC via the USB Flasher option and you'll have Clockwork. Then you install your .zip ROM, reboot and you won't get an error anymore as you'll have a ROM flashed.
Thanks for the help. It is greatly appreciated.
I can't access the USB Flasher. When I connect my phone to my PC, my SD card doesn't show up, instead, its recognized as an "unspecified" MAGLDR driver. I can't do anything with that.
But I can access my SD card through USB Mass Storage, but I don't want to install DFT on Mass Storage when I'm told to use USB Flasher. I don't want to do anything stupid

the usb flasher option is not to mount your sd card, it is just used to flash files/roms via daf.exe. use the usb flasher to install clockworkmod1.3, once that is done boot back into magldr and go to ad recovery, and recovery should start. from there you can mount as usb mass storage. i belive the one in magldr doesn't work very well, or at all for some, the one in clockwork always seems to work well for me.
guys its simple your not supposed to use MAGLDR if your going ot go back WM6.5.
tunr your phone off. hold the volume down button and press the power button, do not let go of the volume button, its going to bring you a tri colored screen. once your in that screen plug in your USB cable to the phone and to your computer. once that is doen flash a official WM6.5 rom let it do what it does, its going to restart and there you go back on WM6.5
there is no way you can boot Win 6.5 if you got MAGLDR, never seen it here
(unless someone shows a video or something)
the only way that can be achieved is to go into bootloader (tricolor screen)
and flash Win 6.5
I thought MAGLDR was for dualbooting. I wanted to go back to 6.5 in case I ran into any problems with the android builds Nontheless, I successfully installed Cyanogenmod, and it works perfectly. I dont think i'll be going back to 6.5.
Thanks for the help, it was greatly appreciated.
Hold volume down and power button when turning the phone on, it will get you into tree color screen...then plug your phone into pc .....on the of run rom installer for win 6.5 and after it is done you should be able to boot into win 6.5.

I have the same problem.
my question is if I the official ROM is it going to erase/format the old one that I had?
The reason is that I did not backup everything and it would be nice if I could go back and get the rest of my contacts...
Is there any way of having a dual boot

Are you honestly incapable of reading? What kind of complete MORON flashes something to their phone without a full knowledge of exactly what it will do?! If you install WinMo again you will have lost all of your data that is on the internal storage of your phone, and to be honest you deserve it if you are stupid enough to flash something without reading about what it does.
On a more positive note, you can flash NAND Android instead of reflashing WinMo if you want, using this guide. Since you would go ahead and flash this without reading up about it, I should probably warn you that IT WILL DELETE WINMO FROM YOUR PHONE! Is that clear enough for you?

I attempted to install Android on my HD2 by following a guide over at HD2Forums, didn't go so well I ended up screwing up the partitions and I got an error saying that the SD card wasn't detected.
I uninstalled ( or I thought I did)
Now my phone will boot up in two diff. WM7s. One has all my info and everything correct the other is a bare install like the phone was never used.
I'm not trying to remove HSPL my re-flashing a fresh ROM. I'm having no luck. I've followed the steps here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623402
My screen never turns grey, it kinda flashes like it's going to change and returns to the tri-color.
If someone would point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.
Well you started wrong! You should have read all he stickies in the XDA forums. That being said I don't know what you did but I for know that the process is first HSPL then MAGLDR then flash wp7 using MAGLDR. I don't know where you are stuck at. I believe you will lose most of your personal stuff unless you could use Zune to backup pics and video. If you have HSPL & MAGLDR you should be able to go from there if you can't even see MAGLDR HOLD DOWN POWER button to get to magldr menu. If you can't even get there then try turn off phone then power on holding the volume down button AND the power button go to tricolor screen check do you have HSPL from cotulla?

I read all the stickies on the site I was on.
However, I am running Cotulla 2011 aMagLDR v1.12
I am able to access the bootloader menu but none of the options that I am aware of will help me.
i assume you have the correct radio installed as well?
anyhow, as has been mentioned, go in to MAGLDR and use the USB flasher /update option, then run the WP7 install file from the PC make sure the SD is in your phone and is empty (it will get formatted).
now i cant remember if you do magldr then go to USB update and plug in the USB cable in at that point or plug it in first, anyhow, that should help.
If on the off chance its not being detected by the computer when you connect it to your PC then use a program called USBDVIEW, its very good for deleteing all your USB drivers and starting from scratch, very handy if things get a bit confused for it.
I dont know if this is the correct way so please correct me if I am wrong.
In your case I would do a completely clean install so do a task 29 and then everything from the beginning

You could have just searched the HTC Leo HD2 forums, but follow the link in my signature to get task29. Also, you probably should use MAGDLR 1.13 and read the "How To" of WP7 to find out the order of preparing your phone with HSPL and MAGDLR.
The thing is...reading all that you can before flashing ROM's will save a whole lot of frustrations...also keeping track of your forums on how-to do something. I save the links to all my how-to's in my browser.
I have searched and could not find a thread with the exact problem I have, I hope I did not miss it if there is one.
I tried to install android and followed this guide, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477 and I was in android working fine. Then I tried to install Clockwork Mod through active sync and things went completely downhill from there. Long story short I tried to flash it back to where i was and now I cannot boot into windows since it's gone and when i try to boot into android it says Fatal HIT 1 or something like that. Is there a way to put a rom onto my sdcard and flash it without having to use active sync or anything like that?
The menu I can access is the MAGLDR menu so I can do USB Flasher and such. I have tried reflashing with DFT_Android but when i get to the point to reboot it just stays on that screen and I have to pull the battery out then I am back to square 1. Now when I try to flash with DFT_Android through usb flasher I get the RSPL.cpp (723) error.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT:
I found a fix for the USB flasher error from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895655, I just put those 2 files in with the DFT_Android folder and ran the DAF.exe now it is flashed again but still does not restart itself. If I can get it to restart itself I can boot into android.

From what I understand you have problems with installing Android and MAGLDR, and you want to revert to your stock ROM. Here is a link read carefully instructions:
Flashing 512 LEO: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
Flashing 1024 LEO: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
I got the We hacked it screen and now I am trying DFT_Android flash again. Thanks for the quick response hopefully it will boot into droid now if so then I will just leave it there.
Well it finished flashing but the phone did not restart, how do I fix that? Should I downgrade to an older version of MAGLDR, like 1.11 or 1.12?
EDIT: I made some progress, I got as far as the white HTC splash screen then it showed the android notification bar and a bar that said News under it and the rest of the screen was black, then the phone froze there. I pulled out the battery and tried to Boot an Nand and it said NAND Kernel load failure.
Okay I am now in android, last time I was in droid I tried to flash clockwork mod through usb since I did not have an sd card at the time and that is what messed up the phone.
The only problem now is when I flash to Hyperdroid CM7 through clockwork mod it does not boot into android it just goes to MAGLDR and when I select Boot AD NAND it says kernel failure
Quick update, I got into android and set it all up but when i reboot or turn the phone on it goes to the MAGLDR menu, how can I get it to boot straight into android?

Do you mean it loads the menu then stops on menu or loads magldr then loads Android?
If its the latter then thats what its supposed to do.

It just shows MAGLDR but no menu and I have to take out the battery, hold the power button to get the menu then select Boot AD NAND to get into Android but most of the time it just stays on the GO GO GO! screen and I have to reflash clockwork mod then the rom and then it loads android fine when i select Boot AD NAND.
Oh I just put the battery back in and just turned the phone to see if it will boot into android and it is. lol I guess i just needed to wait little longer.
Thank you both very much
Hi Doat,
What you need to do is download a stock rom in the language your device was shipped.
* Extract the exe (right klick) and rename the RUU_Signed.nbh to LEOIMG.nbh
* Copy it to your storage card
* Put your device in bootloader (just take the battery out and in and press volume down+power off button at the same time)
* Follow the on screen instructions
That should bring you back to stock rom.
This will bring everything back to factory defaults including the SPL, so if you like to flash a custom rom after you need to flash HSPL again.
Grtz, Leo
Thanks for posting it up anyway it is good to know in case I have to revert back to stock, I really appreciate it.
Maybe I misunderstood your post, I taught you were stuck on boot with MAGLDR.

Sorry about the confusion I was just stuck on booting into android.
i just put on nand rom for the first time, and i want to re-do it with american android, but when i try running magldr 1.13, it says usb not connected and i cant get past this to flash american android, any answers for this plz, ty much, error :260:
can you give us pls some more input on what you are doing exactly? Where does it get stucked, when you boot it or do you select something from the menu and then the problem with no usb connected occurs?
well when i go into magldr and try to get it to go into usb flash, so i can flash american android, it opens and i check the boxes and click next, then it scans for the usb, but it wont bring up an error, and it tells me to make sure my usb is connected and it is connected already???? im a noob at this so i cant explain to much into what im doing wrong, im just going by the steps ive read, i have android on it and it works just great, but i want a dif rom, not the stock rom i found.
when you choose usb flasher do you see:usb flasher......usb
i think americandroid is using daf method.so right click on aca.exe and run as administror.
be sure you downloded mgldr version of it (not clk)
never mind, my mistake
when i try running magldr it says error and it wont run magldr, and usb is connected, but it says it isnt...?
plz can anyone tell me what im doing wrong??? im running magldr and my hd2 is connected, but when i check the boxes in magldr and click next it looks for my pda, then says error 260 and make sure cradle/cable is plugged into pc, and it is, and it wont go into magldr so i can click usb flash drive...???
please be more specific and write your steps. what do you mean by saying ' i'm running mgldr'.have you flashed it to your phone in usb flasher mode? what are specifications of your phone.have you done these:
1)hspl 2.08
2)task 29?
3)flash mgldr
4)partition of sd
5)partition of nand by cwr

ok last night i did my first nand on my nd2, i ran the hspl, then i ran the magldr 1.13, then i scrolled down to usb flasher, then i ran the rom that the youtube link gave me, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvS4EvS0PAw then it all worked, i had android on my phone, but i dont want the rom in the youtube link, i want one from this forum american android, and i was wondering, when i go to run magldr on my nand android i flashed, it tells me error and that to check if my phone is connected, and im just trying to do what i did in the youtube video but with a dif rom, but it wont work from android, it did just fine on wm 6.5, and my phone is connected to the usb, but it tells me it isnt, but i can still transfer music and other things, but when i go to run magldr it tells me my phone isnt connected, so i cant get into magldr and scroll down to flash usb and use the rom i want to use from this site, better? plz help thanks much.
in order to go into mgldr menu power off the phone.then power on but hold down the power key until mgldr menu comes. its not necessary to reload mgldr for each rom.if you installed it to your phone now it is in it.
i left it alone, and i powered off and tried turning it back on this morning when i woke up, and it powers on and then stops on quietly briliant, it wont even go into android now, is there any way i can go back to wm 6.5? or make my phone work again? when i go into magldr in usb flasher mode and try flashing a new rom, it tells me an error has occurred, error descriptio: USB init failed info: \rspl\rspl.cpp 736??? now my phone doesnt work at all... :<
getting phone working...

have you used the the HD2 toolkit? You can find/download from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
try wiping the phone with task29, then loading the MAGLDR or cLK / which ever nand/rom you want to use. Hopefully this works for you....

you mustn't flash new roms in mgldr-usb flasher mod.
1)just put rom.zip into sd
2)go to mgldr-ad recovery-install zip from sd-choose zip from sd-find rom in the list and choose with call button.after installation is completed reboot.
try these with that rom:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951

when i go into ad recovery it says no boot source???
Then you have to install cwm first.
I have had a similar problem with my phone and what worked for me was disconnecting the usb cable and plugging it back in. then it seen it as usb and i was able to flash the ROM. i know it seems rather simple but this small fix might work for you as it did for me.
if you can install cwm i would highly suggest to do that and also looking into the hd2 toolkit as someone else as already pointed out.
