Kinda sucks!
You don't realize how much data you use when you have such a fast connection..
I barely used the damn thing
So, when I get to 5GB, will it stop saying 4G on the top and show 1x ?
Will I at least be able to send text messatges?
Armageddon my friend....be prepared.
In all seriousness chill out, the only thing that will happen is your speeds will be reduced dramatically, slower than edge speeds. It will still display "4g" though keep in mind we don't even have true 4g so get that out of your head. Messages and data don't have anything to do with each other unless were dealing with mms, then at which point you will still receive but the transfer speed will be super slow. My recommendation for when you get capped....force your phone on edge

You can call our data speeds "HOBO G"
I don't care if someone says its not true 4G, who ever said what was true or not anyway?
I couldn't ask for anything really better than this
sure LTE can do much more, but I get those speeds almost EVERYWHERE!!
True 4G or not, It's as fast, so why even bother saying its not "true" 4g, lol

the ITU, who decides these standards. basically after they put together the 4g standard tmob and att *****ed (and probably paid a good amount of money) to have 'advanced 3g' included as '4g'.
to the op, you may not get throttled the first time or the second, you'll get sms messages saying you are throttled. when you are actually throttled, you can expect 64kbps max. it's absolutely useless.
How do you use so much data?
I kinda disgree with LTE being able to much more atleast, at the rev Verizon has theirs. I have a mifi from them and the only difference I see is upload is better 6megs usually. Then again their network goes down at least twice a month or when they have a new LTE phone to market. Download is usually about the same if not better or I should more sustained if your tethering then on my mifi. Its both a race and frankly I was kinda disappointed to hear the CEO of T-Mobile say the were going to use some the 4bill to deploy LTE. HSPA has a long way to go before it needs replacing.

i easily can kill my allotted 4G speeds with Spotify and "Play Music".
After you go over your 5gb, your speeds will be practically unusable for any thing outside email.

this. in my experience, it takes streaming music through 'play music' one hour per day to hit 5GB in 30 days.

you must have never used ATT LTE... that **** wipes the floor with us. However, I always say.. why do you want to download so fast with an expensive data plan as theirs lol.
So Treo how fast is fast on ATT? and how long is that going to last since there are very few people with LTE enabled devices on ATT. I can pretty much say that when the new iPhone comes out with LTE on ATT their network will be flooded. VZW network was bleeding fast when it first came out too. Which begs the question how fast is to fast. Cell phones have already past 6 bonded t1s. "9" megs 10 megs is the starter package for those putting thier svrs in a data center. Is 20 megs down not enough?
In atl ATT thier dsl isn't even that fast. 6 megs is all you get. You have to step up to u-puke to get 24 megs down. That's wireline service with tv so at this point even at HSPA we are ahead which is amazing but the user isn't going to see the download speed as much surfing or checking email even netflix works fine at 4 megs. What the user "us" notice is lag when doing all the above minus netflix. The only thing other than this is if your downloading a large file etc and at that point one has to ask if that file would have been better downloaded to a laptop or desktop or if its a PowerPoint sales file or employee reviews doc etc then there's security questions involved as well that are much more easily handled on a laptop.
So at the end of all this how fast to u is fast enough. What speed do u need to be able to get all of your mobile life in a month done?
Also its usually the 3rd month your cap kicks in unless your just massively abusive. Say like hitting your cap 5 days into your billing cycle two months running. The 2gig plan their less forgiving. Just try to use WiFi as much as u can.

Well it really depends on the area, but at very strong places it ranges up to about 60+ down and 25+ up...
but their averages is about half of that 30+ and 12-15 up
Our phone peaked i think around 24? I don't remember seeing anyone getting much higher. Not sure about upload speed but it was single digit thats for sure.
our average would be in the teens for download 10-15. Yes we can get higher but their average is about doubled ours..
not sure why you're asking me how fast is too fast? and how fast is fast enough? I don't think I made any points or argument about that... lol I only said that with such a high speed data, but only with like 4gb average data plan... yeah...
But honestly the t989 data speed is more than enough.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454576&page=3
I'm sure there are other threads too.
WOW 60 Megs down!! That's is very impressive. Is that just a speed test or a sustained download?.
Edit- Thx for the link, ya we could get there HSPA+ can go to 168.

yeah I was like WTF do you need all that speed for? they have a strong cap on their data plan right? lol
but yeah I'm not too worried about our data speed. I'm more than satisfied with it.
I'm pretty sure most of the measurements is done through speedtest and probably a few through sustained speeds. but I doubt these guys are gonna download a big enough file, see the transfer rate in KBps then change it to kbps (bytes to bits) lol
LOL look.. anything and I mean ANYTHING!! over 5mb/s download is gravy
That being said, i average around 12-15 with peaking at 20
in 3 years, I will bet no LTE will be as available as our HSPA 42+
I drove 400 miles 2 weeks ago and lost service maybe twice for about 10 minutes.
LTE? Wimax? LOL right, you're lucky to have it when you need it.
As for speeds, sure, it's faster but it's a waste, unless you're using it to download torrents, 5 mg down is more than enough to do ANYTHING
And I mean anything, including tethering to a roku device and streaming HD netflix!
As for this being "Fake" it's not, its was approved 4G and that's why t-mobile can call it that, 4G
As for how I use that much data, well its not hard, I bike every day and use a program called sports tracker live, which tracks my rides, I also sometimes stream slingplayer to listen to the news while riding.
I stream music every so often, I tether to my Xoom or Ipad if I'm out and about.
It's so darn easy to use the data when you have the speeds.
I'm at 98% now and have yet to get a text or email, should I try the throttle trick?
Yes, your speed will be reduced a lot, but no extra cost I think
I wonder
I'm wondering if anyone else has what I have.
When I took a look at the OP screen shot I noticed there was as asterisk that showed the 5gb high speed limit. So I logged into my Tmo account to check mine because I am running a custom ROM and dont have the Tmo app installed.
My sis line(1yr old) says "Data: 1.4 GB / Unlimited (up to 5 GB high-speed data)"
Mine line(12yrs old) says "Data: 3.9 GB / Unlimited", there is no asterisk that states I have a 5gb high speed limit or any mention of a limit at all.
I have been with Tmo for 12yrs(since VoiceStream) and never changed my number. I have had this data plan for I dont remember how many years, but I know it was before they started talking this "high speed cap" thing. Does anyone think I may not have a "high speed cap". Can someone else log into their Tmo account online, and see what yours says?
You might have been "grandfathered" into their unlimited plan. I know Verizon was doing the same thing right before I switched to their plan.
Verizon was unlimited before, they announced they were capping their plans and if you had a plan before that date you were grandfathered in. I'm thinking that is what happened to you.

Anyone else having random upload speed? I will consistently get 5-6mb down, and for a while was getting 1-2mb up. Now Im back to 300 up, while occasionally jumping to 800.
It does appear to be still capped, but now it is capped at 1.275mbps up. I did have some issues last night with it wanting to limit my spead, but it seems to have sorted itself out. It doesn't matter what I do now, I'm stuck at 1.275 max up.
I had this problem with the telstra radio flash and it is the reason I flashed back..wanted to wait for the official hsupa update. Doesn't sound like the problem is fixed in the official update though. My iphone 4 never had it's upload speed dip like the atrix does.
Please go to your dialer and enter *#*#4636#*#*
Under Phone information what does it say for Network type?
This phone, per Motorola, supports up to 14.4 Mbps (down) under HSDPA. HSDPA is limited to ~350Kbps (up) - Most people do not get these speeds on HSDPA for the reason that your carrier does not support 14.4 Mbps HSDPA everywhere. Different locations will be able to support different categories of HSDPA.
HSUPA is the same deal. Same with HSPA+
Also your signal to the tower will have a factor in the actual speeds you are getting, as well as how congested the networks from your phone to the speed test sites are.
From what I've seen, my local provider AT&T is only allowing HSDPA category 4, whereas the phone supports up to category 10. Unsure about HSUPA as Motorola's website says nothing about HSUPA (and I have not had the update yet). However, Wikipedia shows that the Atrix should support up to Category 6 HSUPA once it is enabled through software, which is 5.76 Mbps - it sounds like your local carriers are capping you at Category 3 or less HSUPA.
If other model phones which should support Category 6 HSUPA in your area are getting consistently low speeds in your area as well, it's just your carrier not supporting higher speeds for anyone, hopefully they will upgrade their network. But if those phones are consistently getting much higher speeds (as they should) then your carrier is still discriminating against the Atrix, and capping it at lower speeds. Submit a BBB or equivalent report against the carrier, email your carrier's executive/corporate offices and complain, do not stand for this. This is unfair.
In the past we had uncapped HSDPA speeds (anything higher than HSDPA was limited - not capped, and not all carriers support the higher speed HSDPA in all areas), anyone who was using HSDPA would have gotten the same speed as us. But if we are being capped based on the model of phone using the same protocol/category network as other phones - THIS is unfair.
I'm with Telstra in Australia using an AT&T Atrix running 4.1.83. I used to get ~300Kbps up, and now get ~1.25Mbps up, which would indicate it is still capped, albeit at a higher rate.

I think its a backed thing. I have a inspire too, and am getting pretty much the same results on both.
The upload speeds worked fine for a while. Im in detroit area and I got speedtests of 1.56 U, 5.6 D. It worked fine for a while. Now I can't get obove 0.4 u, but download still goes over 5 mbps. Why. Is it still capped?

I'm not sure what's not to love on Verizon's LTE?
My upload is often faster than your download on AT&T's "4G" phones.
Download often hits 50+mbps... Get real.
Mmhmm.... and how often do you really ever say to yourself "Man... i'm SO glad i'm getting 50mbps so i could download that file on my phone."? Exactly how much could you POSSIBLY download on your phone that 50mbps is that important? It seems to me more like an e-p*nis extension than a necessity. Hell, i hardly ever really find a need for a 15Mbps connection on my computer, except for the rare times i actually need to download a file that's a couple Gigabytes.
Also have to remember that AT&T doesn't even have their 4G network up yet.
And also have to remember.... if you don't have an Atrix... don't like the Atrix.... or don't even use AT&T...... why the f*ck are you even in the Atrix discussion? i smell some troll's a coming.
edit: Oh... and fsturbo.... i don't know where you get the "crappy voice quality". If that's what you're experiencing... it's more than likely your phone, as many people have discovered. The locked bootloader isn't all that bad, and will probably be cracked sometime soon-ish. And... i'm pretty sure Verizon is also ditching the unlimited data packages in exchange for a tiered platform just like AT&T did.
On another note... you MIGHT want to leave the "i'd rather have unlimited data" arguement to those who uuh... DON'T have unlimited data. I do... and i'm pretty sure there's quite a few here that do, too.

Oh well, our perception of a mobile smart phone is definitely different. I see it as a cable modem in my pocket, always ready to connect to my laptop and tether. If not, EVERYTHING on my phone is snappy, don't have to wait to buffer, or ever use WiFi. And noone is putting limits on how much data I'm gonna be using, or capping my upload speeds.
Per AT&T's PR CES announcement (January 6th 2011), they HAVE their "4G" deployed to ~100% of their footprint. Now, the fact that they call 4G deployed jsut because the software is enable is something the customers should question not me. But if you're happy, I guess it's all good.
And I don't mind Atrix. Not a bad phone. Motorola certainly ain't my favorite but there is no denying that Atrix is a powerful phone. Too bad the network is pulling the whole experience down.
Well.... "powerful phone" and "fast network" are two different sides of the table, really. And i don't recall seeing any statement about their 4G deployment other than that it's only available in a select few cities at this point in time.
And i guess our ideas of a smartphone ARE different then. I've never thought of my phone, be it my previous iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, or current Atrix, as a multimedia device. Rarely ever watch youtube video's on it. Only ever web browse on it when i'm away from my computer and just want to check something quick, or if i'm driving about and need to find a phone number or something of the sort. Don't have a laptop or much of any portable device other than an Archos 70 250GB tablet... so i don't have much of a need to tether, and as i already mentioned... 15Mbps is fast enough for me on my computer. The one convenience feature i really like with the Atrix is the HDMI output. Nice to sometimes pop a video onto my phone to play it on the TV. Then again... my Archos tablet can do the same thing... and has 250GB of storage space.... so even that's a toss up as to which i'd rather use.
So i'd say the network pulling the experience down is arguable. Just about the only thing Verizon has going for them over the Atrix is LTE. If you're not a major speed freak, which i don't imagine makes up the majority of users, then it's not really all that different between the two.
Would be good if someone running the leaked Telstra SBF on a non-AT&T network (preferably Telstra) could post their results. That would confirm that there is something in 4.1.83 that is limiting uploads to ~1.25Mbps.
As I said before, I am using 4.1.83 on an AT&T Atrix on Telstra's network. I know Telstra is capable of much more than 1.25Mbps upload speed, so something on the phone must be limiting it.
yeah, I'm not sure what is going on. Sometimes I can't get above 300kbps upload, and sometimes I get above 1.25Mbps
just before the below test, I got 2.5 Mbps down and 231 kbps up...

To me a bigger argument is what is special about the dual core phone at this point in time? What do you plan on doing on your phone that will absolutely give you amazing experience and speed over your previous Apple products?
And why is that more important to you than AT&T's network that's clearly a bottleneck for the overall user experience in the age where everything depends on the internet latency and network QoS?

Just got a text from T-Mobile with "due to your high data usage we are slowing your speed for the rest of this billing cycle." I am a daily data user, on $30 "unlimited" data plan, and just a day ago downloaded and began using the Netflix app and have streamed 8 movies over hspda. Whoops. Should've used Wi-Fi. Sucks that T-Mobile is throttling their data now. May all here be duly warned. Had no idea T-Mobile was engaging in the same BS that other Co's were already committing.
Anyone else saddened by this crappy policy?

If that's being throttled.... I'm moving back to Sactown.
I'm still on the $25 Mytouch 3g plan so I don't think they can throttle me. Used more than 3gb already this month and that's before I installed Netflix. I'm testing it heavily on purpose to see if I get throttled. Will post back if I get a dreaded text about it.

Sorry to tell you but if you go over the 5GB soft cap you will get throttled unless you are grandfathered from a old truly unlimited plan, if you are lucky you and I suggest never changing anything on your plan or you will forever lose your granfathered statis.

I expect to get throttled, but I'll never know 100% until it's tested. If they don't then yeah... I won't change anything with my plan. Was planning on staying off contract maybe anyway since my two years is almost up.

dude, you're getting 10megs down?
most people on WiMax don't get speeds like that, I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, you can stream just fine any movie you want on 10mb down, lol. If that's throttling I am not worried at all.
Well I just ran another 7mb data only (not Wi-Fi) test from my bedroom and got:
Btw, I am running at wireless N on my home network when I watch Netflix though, ever since the over-lords texted me. I guess as long as they don't sock me with some sort of over-usage fees then I can't complain. Damned happy with the speeds I get on this GBX v12 rom on my HD2. Sad that HTC originally had a 4g+++ capable phone with the HD2 but dumbed it down so bad and saddled it with winmo 6.5. This phone could have been called the "First 4g Smartphone"....sorry Evo4g users.

Sorry to disappoint you, but mobilespeedtest.com is known for its inaccuracies, and your speed tests prove it. The HD2 is limited to 7.2Mbps and that's a hardware limitation. Also, T-Mobile has been throttling for a while now, and it has been in the T&C for a long time, but they had not been enforcing it until a few months ago.

It probably is fast. You could be in a bad spot with towers or there are so many users that the bandwidth is killed. Run speed tests all over and at different times and you will see it change quite a bit. I can run them back to back to back sitting in the same spot and varying speeds.

True,
I ran a speed test and got about 1.5mb down, then ran one right after and it jumped to 4mb down. It depends on a lot apparently and I would not take one speed test to mean much.

Sucks that T-Mobile is throttling their data now. May all here be duly warned. Had no idea T-Mobile was engaging in the same BS that other Co's were already committing.

My 3g In philadelphia is crazy sucking into south jersey. I usually get 200-300 down and sometimes in rare occasions / weird places (my office on 19th floor) do I actually get over 600.
If I was not paying $50 a month I would drop sprint like a bad habit.
if you dont get results like this, you need to call and get an airave. 3g shouldnt be that slow. even 600k down is laughable to me. 1Mb minimum download or i am not a happy camper.

This is a common problem - logic that is riddled with fallacies (flaws, for the OP and any others who struggle with the correct meanings of words, lol)
While we can all agree that a Maserati is *faster* than a model T, nothing about their statement implies that a model T is crap - only that it is slow *relative* to a Maserati. I'm not saying that anyone would argue that a Maserati isn't fast, but their statement doesn't address the absolute speed of a Maserati, because the statement is simply a comparison.
You tried to add unstated information into what was written when it is not inherently correct, or in other words, you tried to put words in their mouths

There's plenty of comparisons they could have use against aMaserati that would make users not in 4g coverage feel better about what they've subscribed to. Hard for me to refer friends in Wisconsin to sprint using a model T as comparison to what their network speeds are going to be. Rebut that

HAHA welcome to the "Now Network". Sprint=dial-up speeds. Myself, or my 3 friends on Sprint, haven't gotten above 100kbps since last October. It happens everywhere I travel too. Well, except between 2am and 4am, then it works perfectly fine, when everyone else is asleep.
It seems to me like they do during the day. My 3g is not near as fast as it used to be during the day. It wasnt a gradual decrease. More like a sudden. While my connection at my house still pulls 1.0-1.3mbps at my house during the day, I used to get 2+mbps there during the day. Now I don't get that speed til 1-5am. You're probably thinking "wtf are you *****ing about?!" Cuz it is very fast at my house. ****ty part is that everywhere else its nowhere near 1.0mbps. More like 0.2-0.4. And I'm NEVER home. That's the problem. Oh well. Its either live with it or go pay $40-50 more to get raped by verizon.

No, they don't throttle during the day, they dont throttle at all. The reason your speeds are crappy during the day is because there are too many people using it during the day, and each tower's crappy T1 line backhaul can't handle more than a few MB/s total for everyone connected to it.
Darn you other sprint users i'm my area, turn your 3g off!

One thing that we all have to remember is that sprint subcontracts its network to other providers (virgin, republic, boost...) And all their customers uses our network as well.
Think about it, Verizon really doesn't lend their network, that's why you pay higher prices, because you have their full resource.
We pay lower prices but we have to share...

The short answer is, "It depends."
I am well versed in the 4G arena, not so much 3g/EVDO.
When you discuss Sprint's 4G network, you are really discussing the re-branding and re-selling of Clearwire's Wimax network. Any discussion of Clearwire's Wimax must include an understanding of N.I.M.S., which stands for, Network Integrity Management System. That's code for THROTTLING!!
In a nutshell, Clear directly, and through its wholesale distributors, continues to sell more bandwidth than it has available to deliver. During periods of low demand, all is well. During times of high demand, N.I.M.S. automatically kicks in. A quick Google search of Clearwire N.I.M.S. should provide the triggers and effects.
http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...-overextending-coverage-to-lure-customers.ars
http://www.geekwire.com/2011/clearwire-boosts-wholesale-subscriber-count-headwinds-mount
To parse Sprint's claim that they do not throttle is easy. They don't; Clear does it for them.

This is the first-time and I am PISSED!! I am SURE this has been covered before but it’s the first time for me. I had no idea exactly how much they throttled you by until now. I mean you can’t do anything once they tightened the noose. I am grandfathered in with an unlimited LTE plan also which really makes it that much more irritating. Well I guess I need to download that app that finds free hotspots. I am in the San Antonio Texas area and we have good mobile data coverage down here so I have to wonder if there are any providers offering a truly unlimited non-throttled or less throttled 4g (of some kind) data plan. I know that Sprint is just getting their LTE service fired up and they are offering an unlimited plan in my area and technically I am not under contract right now which I made abundantly clear to the AT&T employee that I was speaking with (ranting to) like she cared. Does Sprint pull the same crap that AT&T does? Do I have any options? Thanks in advance.
Sprint just deployed their LTE recently and I've seen data speeds around 30+ MB/s reported by users in Texas

We have unlimited data at Sprint. I've never been throttled even when I spent a month on roam and used like 35GB.

I'm a moron. Nm.
When I'm throttled on att ... my data speed goes from LTE to regular 3G , which is more then enough to stream video and music. How slow are you getting?

I went from almost 50mbs down to .5mbs down and up! Its enough to do little stuff but that's not the point. Its just unacceptable to be THAT limited on an UN-limited plan. Ive been with them 10 years since they were SWB and Cingular Wireless and Ive never come close to 5 gigs until now. How do we stream video and other data intensive stuff on 5 lousy gigs a month? Sprint offers Unlimited LTE in my area NON throttled according to Sprint rep. I will go to Sprint store tomorrow and see how fast it is. I am not under AT&T contract so I can shop around. The plan im on is almost as much as the unlimited Sprint plan so no big price difference. Is there a catch to Sprints data service? Do they start charging extra or or limit download size or cut you off if you tethering or anything? Is Sprint a good alternative to AT&T? Sprint seems the logical choice if thier speed is equal or near AT&Ts. Is AT&Ts call quality better or Sprint? Inst Sprint CDMA? Info greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Good god, may I ask what you use all that data doing? I'm getting 10mbs on sprint.

To answer you question there are no gimmicks with Sprint when it comes to unlimited data. There plans really are unlimited and I live in Atlanta where my 4gLTE just activated and I am very pleased with the speeds. I'm loving Sprint right now.

Since the 5th, I've switched to Sprint. Coverage blows in stl, but blown past my 2gb cap I had with att and living that so far. Some coverage and I will be set!

If I had lte on sprint I'd be all over it. But 3g by me is horrible and no service whatsoever at my house really kills it. So I recently switched to att where my coverage is awesome and my 3g is easily 8x faster on average. If lte on sprint ever comes to my area I will certainly reconsider my choice. Until then ill live with my 5gb att cap.

I live in Jefferson City, MO and we aren't slated for LTE until later this year.

The only reason Sprint has been able to offer truely unlimited plans is because the speeds were just too slow to generate any meaningful volume. With LTE now, they will be in the same position (likely worse equipped) once volume increases across the network. Enjoy it while it lasts. I certainly wouldn't be jumping ship having unlimited (5g) with ATT in hand to have fully unlimited data for a year or so.
Sprint doesn't cut you off or anything when it comes to data usage (unless you're roaming.) Go to 500 gb a month if you'd like.

as it should be... its 4g
I don't know why people are so up in arms about this stuff. Most carriers are going to tiered data.... it's the way it is and nothing's changing that. It's already been in the rumor mill based on some things done/said by sprint that they too, will be going to throttled/tiered methods to controlling data. I don't know about you guys, but I know that ever since tethering became very popular, TONS of people have been trying to use their mobile data connections as primary internet sources. While it's all fine and dandy that you feel that you should use your data how you want, the networks (and when I say networks, i mean ALL of them) are not yet ready to support everybody's daily habits and still be strong enough to support the current flow of telephone calls or data calls.
When that day comes, by all means, have the carriers put out unlimited data plans and have your telephone be your primary internet connection, but until that day when the networks are strong enough to support it, I still want to be able to make phone calls if need be, especially in an emergency.
By having service, it doesn't give anybody the right to unlimited data, or if they do have it, to use it however they wish. There are still terms and conditions with each company. I know it's not something that everybody likes, but it's the way life is. I am personally pretty glad that the carriers are approaching it this way, because in my area, I see first hand how tethering on smart phones can easily cripple networks at this current time.
I'll give you all an example. I work in a town of 45,000 people, with a "metropolitan" style town surrounding with a grand total of like 80,000 people. That's not a whole lot, which means there's not a ****load of towers here to support our mobile data/calling habits. The thing is, we're in Wisconsin, and there's a lot of places in Wisconsin that you can now get 3G service but can't even get Satellite internet service more than 700kbps. 3G service in those areas average 1-2 megs of service. HSPA/HSPA+ service in some of those areas range from 3-9megs of service. With a cost of $30-80 for sat. service, it's obvious what people would rather use for their internet. If even a 3rd of those 80,000 people started using their phones as primary internet connections, our network would quickly become stressed.
It's becoming more and more obvious to me every day too, that people are wanting to use their phone as a primary internet connection because they can't get land line service or want to save money on a more frequent basis. At least once or twice a day I get a customer coming in and asking us about our mobile internet service because they want to get rid of their land lines to save money, consolidate bills, or can't get land lines at home.
With the rate of how many people are now getting their hands on phones that are capable of tethering, that could very quickly change the work load of the towers on ANY network, be it sprint, at&t, tmo, verizon etc etc.... and it's not going to be for the better.... for now.
I guess the moral of the story is, as a person who still utilizes land line services as his primary source of internet (especially for streaming content/downloading content), I would love to have the cell phone towers I utilize still be able to support my telephone calls, instead of straining to support everybody's netflix addictions. Until the networks are built to support that kind of stuff, I can't say I disapprove of the way things are going on the carriers. Nobody's entitled to anything when it comes to service, and that being said, is what gives freedom of choice when it comes to your carrier choice. Just keep in mind that Sprint is looking more and more likely to follow suit with the tiered/throttled plans... seeing as they've already done it (according to articles, don't know if it's actually implemented) on their hotspot devices. If it's true, and has happened, It's not long till they do it to their smartphones, since every single one is ALSO a hotspot device.
*rant over*
