So I just received 2 different replacement hd2's the first 1 the screen wasn't put in correctly. So when the phone is powered on u can see thru the cracks around the sides of the phone. Now the 2nd replacement phone the screen looks flush and properly installed but still have the same look far as u can see light on the side of the screen around the whole phone. Its like its not properly sealed correctly. I'm worried a lil bit of liquid is going to seep in and short the phone out. And I don't have any more claims. What to do? Should I send this one back also or go to T-Mobile? Idk.... I'm frustrated

That definitely is not right. I would call them up and let them know they gave you a bad phone.

I broke an aria screen (just the glass, not the lcd) and got a replacement. I just paid a local company to replace the screen and they say it wont respond to touch now. What could cause this/what's the solution?

If they cocked up the install, that would do it. They probably didn't plug the cable in from the digitizer (the glass) to the phone itself.
We just had the guy walk us through what he did and he definitely put the thing in (though I can't verify for sure that he did it right (though he seemed to know what he was doing)). Is there anything unique about the way the aria's screen that could be causing issues?

Does the phone give an error message too or is it just unresponsive? If you find out why this is happening, please post it - I'm having a similar problem. (SNAFU post)
Booting in recovery reveals that its not connecting to the sensor. It might be giving us an error based on some icons in the notification panel I don't recognize, but the sensor doesn't pick up any touch so I can't unlock it to find out.

dead touch screen on htc aria
I got a screen from repairs universe for my sons htc aria. Had it installed and it worked briefly thenstopped. The repair shop looked it over and said it had to be a defective screen. I sent it back and repairs universe said it had a damaged ribbon cable. The repair shop said "BULL" so I don't know. I believe there are some bad replacement parts out there. After reading Repairs Universe reviews "damage" is the one answer they give to any returned parts.
I just received my dhd, and I'm noticing that the top glass is giving in just a tiny bit. It's not that I can see it as much as I can hear it.
I'm reluctant to send it back as I need a working phone at all times. When I had the nexus one it had a.similar issue which was fixed by blowing hot air on the part of the glass that was ggiving in. Would this work here as well? I don't have a blowdryer so I'll need to borrow one when I can.
It seems like pushing it and holding my hand there for a min only helps for a little while. I'm assuming hot air is needed?
Help is much appreciated.

If you got it from a mobile shop then take it back and ask for a replacement. If they say they have to send it away ask for a temp replacement phone till yours returns, most shops have temp phones they can use, they just dont like to do it.
Me personally, I would not like to use a hot air gun on my phone, but you own it so its up to you.
Good luck,
Blinky
I have the same issue when pressing the top right .. you can hear a small click sound ...

Has anyone noticed their back camera lens start to peel off? The top of mine pops up ever so slightly and I can push it back down. It'll sit for a while but come up again no matter how long I hold it.
Maybe I could some how heat it up enough to where the glue melts that I can hold it in place. I ordered mine online and really don't want to go through the exchange process. It would be like taking your baby back to the hospital after he's born for another two weeks.
You sure thats just not the protective plastic the a500 comes with ?
No, its certainly that black peice of glass (or plastic) that's over the lens.

That sucks! Did it just happen or did it get hit or was maybe left in a hot car or something?
I know you don't want to but I think its best to return it.

I'd like to see a pic.
It isn't the lense that is popping off, it is simply the plastic covering. Mine is popping a bit as well, think I'll crazy glue it down.
Yeah, its not the lens but I wasn't about to put "plastic camera thing is peeling" in the subject lol
Here's a picture

I really want to exchange it. I ordered mine online and picked it up at my local bestbuy store. I called the store and they said I couldn't do exchanges in-store for an online order. Bestbuy.com says differently. I emailed them both hoping to get a definite answer.

Wow. Discovered today that if I push on the back camera, even the slightest pressure, the camera doesn't work. The camera app shows a big green screen. I'm starting to think that it isn't the glass frame that's off but the whole camera module it self.
Add just a little more pressure and you can see distortion on the display opposite of where the camera is placed. There must not be anything between the camera module and the LCD.
Definitely sound like you got a defective model.
I wouldn't suggest anyone start putting pressure on the camera housing to test. It's not like they were built for anything other than it's normal function and day to day stresses.
agentdax5, return it however you have too. I wouldn't try and fix it or make it any worse. Just package it up and send it back.
Exchanged it today no problem but it looks like this one has the same problem...
Not as bad as before but still. Almost makes me want to return it and wait for a Galaxy Tab 10.1

I'd take it right back then on the next exchange, open it up in front of them and check.
Thanks for the advice. I should be going back tomorrow. They had 3 left when I went, hope they don't happen to sell them by then.

A total of 3 exchanges later i finally got one without the lens peeling!

I guess I was just lucky, no peeling here.

My device is in service because of that. When the new one has the same problem, I'm a bit pissed of. In my country this device costs 600$...
Whoever told you that was full of BS

I ordered my A500 online and picked it up at my local Best Buy. When I got it home it had a 1.5 inch crack running across one corner of the screen. I took it back the next morning and they swapped it out (after I convinced them I didn't break it). There was never any question of how I ordered it or if I just came in and picked it up. You should report whoever at that store told you that to the manager, and if it was the manager report it to the home office. Times are tough enough without stupid employees running off customers over BS like that.
I don't have this problem
Tried to apply pressure to the rear and front camera while the photo app was open and no mishaps. As for surface peeling I've not had any such issues and frankly, after inspection, have a hard time seeing how any such problem would be possible.

mine is identical in the fact that its peeling. i just push it down might get some double sided tape to put it down better. no biggie.
So my Nexus had the screen lift.. I was just curious, and wanted to see the back of it.
Took the back cover off, no problem. I didn't really do anything except look around. When I wanted to pop the back cover back in, I had trouble with one corner.. it just wouldn't pop in. So i pushed that corner a bit (I swear I didn't really use that much strength) but I turned the device around and saw the corner of the glass was cracked. It didn't reach the pixeled part of the screen, it was only at the black border.
So I thought- ah.. oh well it was my fault. I was pissed.. but who was I to blame right? I'll just live with it.
Here comes the problem.. I pushed the Power button, the lock screen came on as usual. However, it seems to have absolutely no response to my touches at all. I tried touching every single corner... NOTHING.
There is absolutely nothing I can do with this device right now.. Except 1. power it on, 2. take a screen shot.
Can anyone tell me what to do now? I've taken the device out of the states. The country I am in do have Asus office. I know the warranty probably does not cover this. I would be willing to pay for a new screen- but does anything know how much it will cost?
Sigh.. any help/comment would be nice. I'm totally devastated right now. I know it's my fault for not being careful. But I am able to go traveling next week, and was looking forward to reading books on it etc.
If it were me, I'd send it back and get a replacement since it had screen lift and that was the only reason you opened it...

Well I'm not in the U.S, and won't be anytime soon. My friend bought it over for me. Tomorrow I will call the local Asus office and ask them about it.
In the meanwhile I might just buy the micro-USB to USB cable, and use a mouse to control it. Although That will look ridiculous as I'll have to find a flat surface to use the mouse everytime. Is there some other USB controller I can use to control the screen?
Also I don't really know much about digitizers.. once you crack one corner, does it mean the entire thing is not usable anymore?
I had very small screen lift issue. Barely noticeable. But with this official nexus 7 cover seems to keep it down

The touch panel is fused to the glass so if it breaks you're out of luck sorry

does that mean if I want to get a replacement I'll have to pay for LCD+digitizer? :crying:
It'll probably cost more than $100 right...
I just cracked my phone and i haven't even had it for 2 weeks. The phone isn't even responding anymore only the left side of the screen is responsive. Has anybody else tried to send their cracked screen in and not get charged?

So you want to extort money from LG?
It costs around 140 to fix through LG repair centers...
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Do the lg repair as it is cheaper than buying a screen kit... 140 vs 220 is a no brainer. Just make sure they actually do everything right. They didn't even replace my screen (granted it wasn't cracked) and they forgot to put the torx screws back in as well. I had to get a supervisor on the phone to fix the situation. They were at least able to fix the situation by sending me the two screws, but its been about a week on a 9 day wait for the stuff to arrive.
