Hello fellow touch 3g owners,
Ive come across a bit of a problem i havent been able to solve with the program known as RSS-HUB. I used it alot and one day it stopped working. i think it might have something to do with the fact that i changed the settings so data would be stored on the SD card instead of the phone's memory. Can't be sure thats what broke it but its about the same time the program stopped working. Now everytime i run it, i get an error message saying: " The data is invalid", it doesnt run at all after that. Whats worse is that everytime i connect to the internet the program tries to update the feeds and i get the same error message. So, does anyone know how to fix this, or how to remove it. Id really like to have it working again tho
thanx in advance
fixed it!
I've found the solution. It seems that that the problem lies in the fact that there was corrupt data in the folder on the card. I deleted the folder and rss-hub started working again.

Hey guys, i recently updated my rom to Farias WM6 - Crossbow one.
and this morning i tried to send an MMS which failed, changed the mms settings tried again.. failed..
and now if i put my sim-card back into the wizard my credit gets drained through text messages automatically being sent..
i can just leave my phone on the side and it will vibrate saying "message sent"
any ideas what is causing this?
do you think a reflash to another rom would fix this?
thank you, i really like the wizard, so much infact i bought a GPS reciever for it today.. and cant use it due to my memory card being busted (so cant install gps software) now the phantom thats sending texts..
If you are happy with the ROM, try hard re-setting . I was assume that would fix it. If not, then a new flash may be necessary. Let us know what happens!
i thing i learnt was that even without the sim in after resets etc it still happened.. i just reflashed t-mobile 2.26? cant remember, its the one reccomended..
and now it isnt happening i am going to try the xda one i think, and see if that happens again.. if it does i willl just stick to the t-mobile one i guess..
will keep you updated as i lost £3 credit due to this problem.. and i wouldnt wish it upon anyone else.
yeah I haven't seen anything like that happen to anyone else so my guess is that it was a bad flash. Flashing a new WM6 ROM should not re-produce the problem, hopefully. Good luck bro.
Well ive stuck to t-mobile 2.26, just added some programs, done some registry edits, moved icons around from programs -> settings or programs -> programs/tools etc.
added Tomtom 6, and its all working nicely.. no automatic SMS sending, got a few glitches to work out with things like the wireless today plugin not showing wifi, but yeah
This is more of a little discovery than a call for help. Well here's the story:
Earlier yesterday I was messing about with a little program called "BT Spammer" which spams active bluetooth in vicinity with things of your choosing and I messed around with a setting on the program that changes my device and hw name.... for some reason I just deleted the bit in hw name and then I messed around with something else on my phone.... later on I had to use my gps program to find destination and for some reason the GPS just wouldn't find any satelites and I was outside ( it worked fine when i tired it a few days ago) so i used quick GPS to download sat locations but when it hit 100% download it would just freeze there and not do anything and not update. I got home and tried to activesync to my computer but it would not sync. I didn't know what was going on and I thought it might have been I installed too many progs on my Iolite and one of them must have messed it up... I was looking through searches and forums to see if anyone had and answer but found nothing and I was about to hard reset (which i really didn't wanna do)... then for some reason I backed tracked and by chance had a look at the BT Spammer program and found out that the device name and hw name field was blank.... I filled them back in even though I though it wouldn't make no difference to the problem I was having then tried to resync with my computer and it WORKED! I tried to update quickGPS and it WORKED! now everything is back to normal... anyway sorry about being long winded but I've looked at a lot of forums for help on things and sometimes people aren't very straighforward or give the whole story with their problems or solutions so people keep on asking over and over on different details to the whole dilemma... hope this helps anyone who runs into the same troubles.
ok so i finally have a juststable i like and my software and settings are optimum for my needs, every so often i get what seems to me a os crash, it starts with my text tab freezing completely so i soft reset several times to get anything working at all, my htc weather doesnt update and my contacts disappear,my phone doesnt make or receive calls but rings, i cant even connect to activesync.
Eventually after a couple hours of soft resets it finally works i have to then sync my phone in order to get my contacts back now if im away from home when this happens its a nightmare i dont know why it happens or how to prevent it, im pretty sure i have plenty of memory storage is 2.30 MB and program is 19.50 free.
if nothing else is there a way to save my contacts in a folder on my storage card and then move the folder to where it needs to be on the actual phone if this occurs when im away from home?
ok any help would be much appreciated thanks
this person in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381423 sounds exactly like the issues im having but im not using stock rom, not using any overclock sw,
Hi there,
I have this strange problem with my HTC Elf. The problem existed with the original ROM (5.0) and after my upgrade to 6.5 as well.
It started once a Month, but now it's twice a day.
If i receive or make a call, receive or send a SMS the device just shuts down immediately. (like a hard reset).
The device then automatically starts up, i get the "Smart mobility" screen and then it starts over again. The boot cycle runs endless, until i remove the battery and start again. Sometimes i need to remove/replace the battery 3 or 4 times to get it booting up again. (Doing this booting drains a lot of battery power)
If i remove the SIM Card, everything works fine for hours and booting isn't a problem at all. So I believe accessing the SIM Card somehow craps the device out. The boot-cycle seems to happen in the last stage of booting, when the device first tries to access the SIM card. (That's something i have to suspect, cause there is no way to log the booting).
I don't believe that it's connected to the ROM Upgrade to 6.5 i did, as the problem happened in 5.0 as well... (btw. everything is much faster and more light-weight since the 6.5 upgrade. It's just great.)
Here are my questions:
- Is there something, I could log the boot process, to see what's the last action when it starts over again?
- Is there something like an event log in windows, where I see the last action or even failure / exception, before the device restarts while doing a call / writing an SMS?
- Did anyone see this happen before?
Thanks for any input!
Hi
Have you tried to change the Sim card or use another one just in case the sim is the problem?
Hi Tito,
I plan to swap SIM's next weekend. But i don't get how a SIM can crash the whole thing. I would understand getting errors like "Can't read SIM" but auto-resetting the whole device?
Anyhow, I'll post an update after trying another SIM. The whole thing is, that it's not reproducible by a specific action one could take. So if the device keeps up even for 2 days with a spare SIM - that doesn't mean the SIM's chip is the problem. Just an indication...
Thanks,
mc
Hi
Please do post the result
I had the same problem (endless reboot) on my Elf. I solved it by replacing the battery.
Hi,
well it's like always. If you need the problem, you cannot reproduce it.
The device wasn't crashing even once on the weekend.. Either with my own SIM or with another one.
The battery thing is interesting. As soon, as the problems start reoccurring, I've got now a spare SIM card to test. If this fails, I'm able to test with another battery in march.
I'll post any results.
thanks,
mc
I have the same problem...and also struggles to find a signal. Did you solve the problem yet?
same problem
I have the same problem and !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well, the thing is i upgraded to the HD2 and didn't use my elf pretty much lately.
I changed my provider and got a new SIM but that didn't solve the issue. So I can exclude the fault being in the ROM or the SIM card.
When the elf was crashing I couldn't start it up. It was booting, and as soon as it tried to register itself in the Network, it crashed again. However, when connecting it to a power source (charger or pc) and booting it up, it went fine through and was able to register in the network.
That brings me to the idea, the even if the battery is full at 100% it might have a flaw and doesn't bring enough energy, when the device is scanning for the available networks.
So next time, I'm in china, I'll get a new battery pack for my elf - however, it's no more that important as my HD2 is running pretty fine.
Hope it's something which can help you.
cheers,
mc
Ever since unlocking my phone, I have been experiencing very troublesome issues. It all started with picture messages not going through and giving me "Can't Send Message. Try Again." Then pictures that I received started coming in as "Media content in this message" that never downloads. I tried showing this to a friend of mine that also has WP7, but of course the image sent. That is literally the only picture I have been able to send in the past two weeks.
Nothing seems to affect it as far as battery percentage, signal strength, Wi-Fi connectivity, or anything.
Websites are also having a lot of trouble loading. Most won't load unless I let the loading bar get to about 90%, then re-enter the address. I also get a lot of "We're having trouble viewing this page right now" messages. Very frustrating.
The Marketplace has been having trouble loading at times as well.
Some apps and games that require internet connections are having spotty issues. Sometimes USA Today won't load any news. Words By Post gives me network connection errors. 4th and Mayor sometimes tells me I have no connection to location services.
All of this is really starting to frustrate me. I can't figure out what is going wrong. The only thing I can think of is that I Windowsbreak/interop unlocked my phone around the same time I started having issues. All I've installed is a battery percentage meter, a screenshot app, AdvancedConfig to change my themes and get rid of app dehydration, and WP7 Root Tools so I could get the 8107 update.
PLEASE, someone help me.
and for reference, I have a Samsung Focus with 8107 on it.
Oh and another issue, sometimes my phone goes through HUGE lag phases where scrolling through menus is incredibly choppy and slow. The only way to fix it is to lock the device and let it rest for a minute.
I may try and get video evidence of this.
I would do a hard reset and see how it works and then slowly proceed with unlocks/homebrews again one step at a time and make sure your phone works well before going the next step. And, make a back-up each time so you can go back one step if you find the one that messes up.
Never try to change and hack everything at once; errors can occur.
Ehh I'm really not trying to do a hard reset just yet...I'm hoping there is some magical solution to this.
SD Card?
Have you an SD Card installed and how much of it is used? Like you, I would do everything short of a hard reset to solve this problem.
No sir, no SD card has been installed into this phone. I learned my lesson after having to get a replacement when I got an irreversible card read error on my last Focus.
That being said, this is a refurbished device.

Some users were having data issues after windowbreaking. There is a fix in the thread and it's quite simple iirc. Ask in the thread.
edit: try this too

Well, after failed attempts at fixing this, and even working with Heathcliff on a solution, I decided to hard reset.
Re-unlocked my phone and installed AdvancedConfig. So far everything seems ok.
I know that it resets to release 5 instead of 6 which could lessen your data , but it is easily fixed in diagnostics :
*#32489#
back 1 time
NAS CONTROL
[5] RRC(HSPA) CONTROL
1 TO DISPLAY mine read release 5 after windowbreak
I then changed it back to release 6
you might also have dualmode turned off, turn it on for better perfomance
if you used heathcliffs interop did you also go to *#94765# auto sim config?
If all else fails talk Jax he made windowbreak!
