Qtek 9100 (Touch Screen not working)

Hi
Forgive me if this has been posted before, but this is my 1st post here & need a little 1to1
My touch screen on my Qtek 9100 stopped working a few days ago, the phone is ok, i can make calls & use the manual keypad.
The phone was left uncharged for a few days & when i went to use it again the touch screen was not working.
There is a dent in the screen that i did not notice before, its only about 1cm, actually its more of a scratch than a dent.
The screen looks fine, no cracks or black spots visable.
No life from the screen, whatever part i touch.
Can someone advise me on what to do to get back up & running.... I have already done this.....
Hard & soft resets
Installed latest ROM.
Phone is currently stuck on the the "touch screen to setup your mobile device screen"
I have already ordered a new touch screen from the net,
should i just change the touch screen or are there other things to try first?
Any advice welcome like
(links to how to change the screen)
Cheers
any luck? im having the same proble but with my atom exec and everyone seems slightly blank on this
When the touchscreen went bad on mine, it turned out the cause was a tiny, almost invisible hairline crack in the touchscreen's ribbon cable which severed one of the wires. I had to use a magnifying lens to see it.
It was possible to test with a multimeter. On the back of the LCD is a piece of clear tape covering where the touchscreen ribbon is soldered to the LCD. You will need to lift the tape to expose 4 wires from the touchscreen. With pressure on the screen, there should be a resistance around 1.2kohms between pins 1&2 and the same between pins 3&4. On mine, pins 3&4 were open circuit.
To fix mine, I didn't change the screen. I removed the touchscreen ribbon from the main LCD (accidentally tearing the solder pads off the ribbon - I wasn't sure how it was attached). Then I used an X-acto knife and scraped off some plastic from each side of the break. Then I soldered a TINY piece of copper wire no thicker than a hair across the break (a single strand from a stranded wire). Since I accidentally tore the solder pads off the ribbon, I scraped off some plastic from the copper traces there and soldered some wire to them and soldered that to the LCD. That did the trick, it's all working now!
i have this same problem.. i was using the qtek with the cracked digitizer but when i did the hard reset it took me to this screen. is there anyway we can get off this screen? help plz!!

Screen alignment or touch screen replacement ?

Hi..
I bought a Vodafone V1605 ( HTC Tytn ) from ebay... the auction description indicated some alignment problems that could be resolved by screen re-alignment...
But when i got the package i found that the problem is worse than that... as you can see in the picture ( http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/4319/tytnscreenul8.jpg ) the top-right of the screen seems to be with problems.... I tries to draw several horizontal lines... and in the top-right part of the screen i got some waves...
I'm thinking about returning the phone... but can this be resolved by purchasing a new touch-screen ? I've seen that buying a replacing touch-screen is not very expensive....
Best regards,
A new touch screen might help. What also is a known issue is the screws at the back of the screen. Try to tighten these it helped for some guys allready.
I replaced my touch screen after i cracked it and now i can't get it to align at all.
I click anywhere on the screen and it thinks it's a click in the top left of the screen as the start menu opens up.
Haven't been able to find anyone to answer my posts for help either.
If there is dirt on the edges of the screen (between screen and cover) it can cause alignment problems as well. I had to recalibrate mine several times a day at some point as dirt would move and press different locations, biasing the digitizer. I got tired of it, dismantled the phone, took the LCD out, cleaned it as well as the inside of the case, and put it back together. No more issues so far.

Had exactly the same problem (and solution) for the screen alignment problem of my Xperia X1. I removed a tiny plastic piece (most likely a leftover from production process) which stuck between the metal frame and the touch screen. After that I could easily align the touch screen and have no alignment problems anymore.
Be careful to not break the screen - I used a thin sewing needle and tweezers to remove the plastic piece.

Broken LCD

Hello all,
My Touch HD slipped from my hands and ended-up flat on the screen... the screen does not have a scratch, the digitizer still works perfect, but the LCD underneath is broken, so I get a black screen. I can still access the Touch HD via my PC thanks to MyMobilier, though (so why do I complain, huh?!!)!
I ordered a replacement LCD in Hong-Kong (thanks ebay!), got the HTC Service Guide, managed to remove the antenna cover (tough!) and dismantle the whole thing. But NOW I AM STUCK with the 'bezel', i.e. the cover, screen, digitizer, LCD, and metal plate with bolts all apparently glued together.
Anyone faced the same problem? Anyone knows how to separate the LCD from the screen and digitizer?
Cheers,
FroggyZ

Anyone can help with this???

Repaired cracked screen...how do i glue it in?

I have an HTC HD2 which had a cracked screen. I repaired it with a new screen, but I don't know how to adhere the screen to the chassis. What is the proper way to do this?
I tested it, and everything works now...but the screen stands off the chassis too far. It's not sandwiched down enough, so the talk/end etc buttons don't have enough travel to activate the pcb below them.
Can someone give me some advice? Thanks.

[Q] Touch screen and capacitive buttons not working!

Hi guys,
What could be the possible reasons for a touchscreen and the capacitive buttons to stop working?
I purchased my Huawei U8800 only very recently but it was purchased 2nd hand. The phone came pre-installed with a custom rom, which is this one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1481168
I've had very minimal use of it ever since I received it, due to the reason that I have exams as I'm an UNI student. Therefore, I haven't modified the phone in any way, i.e I have not overclocked it or flashed a different kernel or recovery etc. The only thing I've done is installed GO SMS PRO and used it for txting and calling, that's it.
At first, everything seems to work fine. But on my 2nd day of use, the touchscreen started acting weird, where the right hand side of the screen stops working for no reason, as well as the 2 capacitive buttons on the right half of the screen (HOME and SEARCH). Then after a while, the BACK capacitive button on the left half of the screen stopped working, and eventually all 4 capacitive buttons and the entire screen stopped working.
The phone still turns on, but the entire screen doesn't pick up any finger input and there isn't any haptic feedback or vibration from the capacitive buttons. When I boot into the recovery, this is also the same.
So I contacted the seller about this, and he advised me to flash the Cyanogenmod 7.2 rom to see if this fixes the problem. It didn't, the touchscreen still doesn't work.
I'm wondering if this is related to the digitizer, which is the part of the phone that sense your finger inputs? If not, what are the other parts of the phone that could relate to the capacitive buttons and touch screen?
Definately a digitizer problem. The capacitive buttons are part of the touch screen, the touch screen is extended over the bottom of the display.
You should buy a new one from eBay or similar. If you want to buy it with a frame (black part on the front), you will have to open your phone to see if the front speaker is big or small. There are two types of front speakers and they are not cross-compatible. If you just want to buy the digitizer, you will have to remove the old digitizer from it's frame and add some glue on the new one to make sure it won't stick out.
If you don't want to mess with your phone, I am sure there are paid services that will do it for you, since replacing the digitizer is fairly easy.

thanks for your reply mate!
Ok so I've found this one here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-To...Glass-For-Huawei-U8800-Ideos-X5-/170721993712
Since it says it's "original", I don't have to worry about the speaker problem right?

They are selling the digitizer, so there will be no problems as it's only the digitizer glass and not the frame around it. The frame itself is holding the digitizer and the speaker so that's why there may be issues when buying the front cover.
If you need a disassembly tutorial, check my Mediafire (signature) -> Documents -> U8800 Basic Maintenance Manual. It's the official disassembly guide so you can be sure you are doing it right .

Wait, that doesn't have the frame around it? I thought the black part surrounding the glass is the frame? I'm confused.......
I just want something that looks exactly like shown in that Ebay listing photo, where it has that bit of the connector part that you push into the motherboard (or whatever it's called on the phone).

On your listing, it does not have frame.
If it's without frame, it is simply the front glass with connector. If it is with the frame, it has the black curve too (and speaker with led).
See this:

Hope it makes sense now

Ahh ic ic.....so would I need to use glue to stick the digitizer glass onto the frame?

Yeah, but not much. Maybe you don't need to add any glue at all, the old one might hold it too.

hi blefish
just posted a similar question:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39201328#post39201328
is it the same solution? (the 4 buttons at the bottom do not work as well as the lower half of screen)
my speaker is 15 mm by 5 mm long (i looked inside). is it big or small?
all the ebay posts do not mention a frame - i will be happy not to mess with the glue
thanks

Hi guys,
I did have the same problem with a Huawei G 510. Digitizer broken and replaced, but still not working.
I have no action on screen. It lits but i can't press any button. Either the 3 buttons are working.
Checked the plug, checked some voltage in the pins.
Any other ideas ?
Thanks in advance,
Miltos Matt
