After I installed the Tcpmp on my dopod838pro, when I run the application > screen go wrong but after put the stylus on the screen(anywhere)all picture come out normally... I heard that somebody said: we have to use the right version of Tcpmp for the right chip set on our PPC. So,Anyone can direct me to Which version of Tcpmp I choose use to matching my Dopod838pro? Thanks for help!!
You need to set the Option->Video to GDI instead of the default ATI one. That should work fine.
Tcpmp 0.66 for the quality
Tcpmp 0.66
to set the Option->Video to GDI and ->Audio to Low
for the quality
I've heard that there's a new version of core player. it's 1.04
anyone tried or got info if it's tytn friendly now?
br
ok... never mind. I came back home and check coreplayer forums - many improvements, but still NO support for ATI chipset in tytn... crap.
You can lock or trash this pointless topic now mods... cheers
And what about Pause/Play issue?
Does this version fix freezes after Pause?
Coreplayer 1.1 is supposed to have the Tytn support...
Can anyone confirm this?
Later, Lew
On my spvm3100, once you open it and close...than I can't restart it but if I make a Soft Reset...did someone have the same problem?
I have installed it on microSD.

i dont have this problem.
do you have any trouble watching movies?
It isn't still supported yet and don't know in wich version it will supported.
They asked ATI info about the chip and guess they haven't get enough info from them to resolve it.
If they ever will resolve the problem!
I use coreplayer with raw frame buffer settings and then it work for 50%.
Also i'm still waiting for a full working coreplayer.
I'm using version 1.04 with RAW FrameBuffer, and on newest WM5 (south africa ROM) it works good. No scattered music when you pause and play again. Seems to work good, but still no Imageon support
on my hermes it s work when i use spb DVD to convert my avi files or dvd...
but always when video is not on "ati" but rawbuffer
I am using Dopod U1000 and the coreplayer 1.04 is worst
on ATI Chips. Wind EFFECT on the screen and only 50% speed on 640x480 DivX movide
See this thread. Coreplayer works perfectly on ATI imageon now for me (using WMXL v0.20.1)
CorePlayer and TCPMP does not support DirectDraw RGB mode and ATI ImageOn Video Accleration, after turn on the this option the screen can not display correctly, it seem have typhoon run on the screen.
Only DirectDraw YV12 YUY2 mode and Raw FrameBuffer can rendering correctly, but the performance on playing 640x480 DivX video is very terrible. The average speed only got 45%-70%.
I found some information in corecode forum TYTN and Hermes seem fixed some bug. but that method can not apply on Athena.
What setting are others using. I've tried running a 600x320 movie with Core player 0.81. It was very slow and stuttery.

my movie on tcpmp runs very smooth, full scrren with sound all sets to highest quality. no problem at all.
Using TCPMP, latest version. video playback is unwatchable, audio is fine but video is jerky, 1 frame per second or worse.
Wu5262, can you post the settings you are using please.

Video quality set to highest
video driver set to Raw FrameBuffer
Audio set to Stereo
Audio Drive use Wave output
Sound and movie play very very well, no delay at all. Let me know if you have different result.
Perfect! I had the video driver set wrong.
Working perfectly now, many thanks.
Great that works for me too.
Also guys & gals..tick the box for Micro drive in the settings dialogue...it helps. Has anybody managed to get DVD quality yet? If so, please give more info like encoded resolution, bit rate and codec used and application used for encoding.
Most of my old movies were encoded to 320x240 @ 600kbps and looked like DVD quality on my QVGA Hermes, but those same movies play very well on the Ameo, buy are stretched to smitherines and don't look good at all.
I've now tried using DVD-Ripped files (same encoding process as torrents) and these look absolutely beautiful, but are wide screen format so don't fill the entire screen. It benchtested at around 118% on Coreplayer and looks slightly better than on TCPMP which strangely benches at a slightly better 120%.
Another few suggestions:
In Coreplayer preferences:
Untick 'Slow video memory' & Tick 'Override AVI timing based on audio'.
Under Video I have selected:
Video: Rawframebuffer mode
Video Quality: High
Smooth Zoom: On
Don't Tick 'Dither' as it seems to cause the movie to look worse.
Good luck.
Here is my setting in CorePlayer 1.04 Build 716
1000Kbps 640 x 480 DivX Movie. Speed is reasonable.
~~DirectDraw Page~~
Overlay format: YV12 **** Remember must set this option first******
~~Video Page~~
Video output: ATI IMAGEON
Video Quality: High
Smooth Zoom: On
Dither: OFF
Accleration: OFF
P.S. We can't get the full performance on No DirectDraw overlay in RGB and ATI ImageOn with accleration,
But there have BUG in ATI ImageOn decoder in CorePlayer because ATI did not disclose the ImageOn structure.

Thanks for that Simdao...those settings you got do actually produce much better performance results. No lost frames now and benchtest has risen from 118% to 145% on coreplayer!!
Bare in mind people that I'm using proper DVD rips in which the video resolution is and bit rate is considerably higher than for 320x240 mp4s or equvalent Divx files....those files should yield benchtest results og 280% - 300%+.
This is great...only problem with the ATI Imageon software renderer is that you get some 'minor distortion' in interface mode...but perfection in full screen mode. Cheers mate.
Bloody ATI ****e...

Take that back. ATI has screwed up coreplayer today...I can't even get to change the settings as it crashes all the time even with soft-resetting the device!
TCPMP seems more stable in allowing me to change settings back to Rawframebuffer mode. Problems are definitely not resolved with ATI and Coreplayer or TCPMP....here we go again.

Is there any real fix to this problem ?
Are you guys able to play DIVX movies with quality ? our any TV SERIES ?
This might be the main reason that i am not going to buy the HTC Athena since there isnt any real and final fix for this problem that comes from the TYTN ..... why cant ATI help with this ? ....
dammmm
Mine seems to play ok. The picture even looks good through the vga port.
so you guys are saying that playback so far of call files have perfect video quality with no conversion nesessary?
DVD Rips look perfect!!

What I'm saying is that Torrent DVD-Rips...search for ''axxo" rips on torrentspy.com (his rips are near on perfect), are absolutely perfect looking on the Athena. Comparable to DVD or even High def quality!!
Benching at 160%+ now too in TCPMP, but Coreplayer 1.04 has no AC3 audio support...hence the switch back to TCPMP 0.72RC....NO Conversion of video file necessary.
hello to all.
i have a problem with tcpmp on my p3600.
all movies and clipps that i am playing starts with voice but after 2 sec it mutes and i have only video.
what is the problem ?
in the jasjar thers no problame.
its a p3600 problem
same problem with all news htc...
****!
is incredible...
I've had issues, but not the one stated... Mine plays the sound fine, but has tonnes of error blocks in the picture. I'm using the same encoder (Pocket Divx) and TCPMP version I used on my Magician (correct me if I'm wrong, but I couldn't find a newer version of TCPMP)... Any suggestions on what to change would be gratefully received...

As stated a zillion times in this forum: switch to raw mode ( i dunno if it helps cause i dont use that app... but that is what they say)
I also can't get TCPMP to work.
I get a severe stuttering screen then it goes black. When I touch the screen it then switches to full screen mode and then plays with a slight stutter.
However the clip repeats itself and I can't quit out of the program, my only option is to press the reset buton.
I'm using TCPMP and after changing to raw have had no issues.
Well, I wouldn't say "no issues". Rawframe buffer is probably the slowest displaying method.
I tend to use DirectDraw, but under DirectDraw preferences, change output to YV12 (it defaults to RGB I believe). Everything then plays fine. It's not as fast as hardware accelerated video (ATI Imageon), but until Coreplayer/TCPMP provides proper support for Imageon, DD will have to do.

Hey, thanks for that tip. I think it does work better in DirectDraw .
directdraw
This may be a stupid question but I don't have an option for directdraw. My only options are
ATI IMAGEON
Raw frameBuffer
GDI
Null Video
Disabled
Where can I find Directdraw?
Thanks

RAW Mode
I have installed the fixed, but my video has still blocked in it.
I read that I have to put TCPMP into RAW mode but how can I do that?
I can not find this option
Many thanx

Go to Options:Video and you will see the choice.
This fix worked for me on an Orange M700 (HTC3600). Select the ATI IMAGEON option, not the ATI IMAGEON Decoder.
I also have the Smooth Zoom (only 50%) option and Dither checked.
Thanx, it works oke now...
Now I am searching for dutch spoken movies... anyone?
I have a SPV M700 and I have same problem with TCPMP audio stopping after 2-3 seconds no matter how I configure it. There is another alternative to TCPMP as good as it?
One curios thing I observed is that when I flashed a fresh new WM6 and installed first the TCPMP only I had no problem with it but after i added all the rest of software this problem start to appear.
Another thing I observed if i switch to full screen and back sometimes randomly this problem dissapear.
Hi guys, I'm trying to track down the source of this problem. Right now I can't seem to fix a problem where audio lags behind video by a short amount of time. I've tried TCPMP 0.72RC1 and CorePlayer 1.04 and both of them have audio/video sync problems. I don't have access to CorePlayer 1.1.1 right now and I'm not willing to pay $25 for a product which I haven't tested for myself to see if it works yet.
So, anyways, what I have here is an a DivX encoded MPEG4, bitrate about 600kbps, audio is 128kbps stereo MP3. I've tested both TCPMP 0.72RC1 and CorePlayer 1.04, both have the same problem. I don't know why I can't seem to adjust the audio/video offset to have negative values, every time I put a negative value in, it always reverts to positive when I close the Preferences. Also for some reason I don't have the ATI Imageon Decoder option in Preferences, I only have access to DirectDraw right now. I don't know if that's because I only have the Smartphone version of CorePlayer 1.04.
This is with WM6, vp3G 3.0.0 ROM (includes the ATI Imageon fix).
Can anybody help me out here?
Well, just following up with OP, I did find a copy of CorePlayer 1.1.1 and not only does it work correctly with ATI Imageon with acceleration enabled (unlike TCPMP 0.72RC1 and CorePlayer 1.04), but I can set audio/video offset to a negative value in Preferences now! If I set offset to -0.200s then the audio and video looks in sync for me.
Interestingly, with ATI Imageon acceleration enabled, my benchmark for my MPEG4 video encode went from 172% in DirectDraw mode to 525% in ATI Imageon mode. So I guess maybe that damned ATI Imageon chip is useful for something after all. Too bad TCMCP isn't being updated anymore, but I'm glad somebody is working on CorePlayer to make it better, even if it costs money.
