I blame this stupid program called "iMusic" (nothing to do with Apple).
I installed it, assuming it is WM5 compatible, but it isn't (and that's another story), so I uninstalled it. But now every time I turn on the Universal a Notification Error pops up with the message "Cannot execute \Program Files\iMusic\iMusic.EXE"
It's still there after soft-resetting; and no, I'm not going to even consider doing a hard-reset for this!
I've already done a search for "iMusic" in PHM RegEdit but nothing was found; no iMusic related files in the Windows\StartUp folder.
Any solutions?
Download Memmaid or sktools and check your notification queue. There you will find an entry for the power on event (probably). Just delete it.

Never mind - I'm going to flash the Qtek AKU2 ROM anyway, but thanks Vijay.

I'm using a T-Mobile MDA and installed MemMaid. It seems to work fine, except it doesn't find any running processes. The native Memory program (in settings) does find, say, Calendar, but MemMaid doesn't. Anyone have this problem? Any idea why? I also emailed dinarsoft.
I've got the same problem. When I soft reset I get the running processes but they seem to disappear as the device is left on. I also cant seem to get them when GPRS is on.
Same issue here with my K-JAM. Seems like a WM5/MemMaid issue.
Dinarsoft Knows
They emailed me that they are working on it and were apologetic.
New version of Memmaid
There is a new version of Memmaid which, confusingly, is numbered 1.5, which is the same as the old version. It corrects the problem with not seeing running processes.
Installation didn't go easily. It asks if you want to re-install over the existing installation, but then fails to delete it successfully and, worse still, says it can't complete the install, leaving a dysfunctional program. I emailed about this. In the meantime, I deleted the Memmaid folder in /Program Files and the three Memmaid programs in /Windows, and then installation succeeds. This is a klugy way to upgrade a program, but it worked.

This is a common WM5 problem. Best bet when upgrading any app is to uninstall first then re-install.
I have installed the IIWPO (theft protection) program manually (not in ROM) for testing purposes. After uninstall an error message appeared periodicaly. The error txt is "Cannot execute \windows\IIWPO_main.exe". Also I can not find any reference to this file in the registry (maybe faulty registry editor, PHM ?) or in the startup folder. Also tried searching in the file contents on entire device. No success. Please, help, this error message is pissing me off
Hey guys.......thanks ahead of time.....
I tried uninstalling IIWPO(theft protection).........and now I'm getting this error periodically(almost randomly...but very often)...
"Cannot execute \windows\IIWPO_main.exe"
I tried removing everything I knew of.........but I obviously didn't succeed.......any help?
It's hidden as an event.
Use this to remove the hidden entry for IIWPO_main.
In you un-install IIWPO you will definitely miss out one thing: The event that makes it run after turning your device on.
There are 2 ways to remove the event:
- Use the Scarybear software
- Hard-reset
Note that after using the scarybears software, you have to do a soft reset, but NOT by pushing the reset button with the stylus. Instead, hold down the power button, say yes at the dialog box. After it's off, bring it back up by holding down the power button again.
Yesterday I did a hard-reset on my device. I'd planned it all very well, and had all my apps and stuff ready on my MiniSD card (under a folder called 'PPC Install') so I could quickly re-install and get everything up to speed. However, something happened when I installed Smartskey. I copied it to the Windows folder, and ran it, and everything seemed fine, but now every time the device wakes up I get a popup:
Notification Error:
Cannot execute "\Storage Card\PPC Install\smartskey.exe"
I've checked the Windows\Startup folder for invalid shortcuts, and searched the registry for any reference to smartskey.exe, but to no avail. So I can't understand for the life of me why it's starting up with this error!!
Any ideas on how to stop it happening?
Aha. Found this thread which might have the answer.

Note to self: use 'search' before posting.
This problem has happened to me a few times with different ROMs but I haven't be able to find the pattern nor the solution!
Basically everything starts very well, when I install a new program it appears in "Add/Remove Programs" in Settings. Then at some point strange thing happens, when I install a new program (any program, not specific) it no longer appears on the list! However, I can see it as installed and it actually appears on the "Add/Remove Programs" of ActiveSync(v4.2)! I can remove it by using ActiveSync but not on the device because I can't select it!
And the other strange thing is, I can see the program's folder under "\Windows\AppMgr\" (every program installed manually should has its folder in here as I understand). And I can also see it under the registry "\HKLM\Security\AppInstall\". It just DOES NOT appear on the device "Add/Remove Programs" list! This happens to all programs after the problem starts but those installed before that point are still displayed!
I am wondering if anyone knows the reason why this happens and if there is any solution like registry hack anything like? Although this is not the end of the day as I can still remove them via ActiveSync, it does annoys me because of the fact that I can't remove it directly from the device.
Thanks in advance!!
Try sk tools software , it has a detailed info for add or remove prog.
Hi,
I have the same problem, not certain what caused it, but you can get items back in the list by following the steps below:
Get programs back into uninstall list:
1) go to..
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\AppInstall\
2) Select the application directory that is not showing up in the list
3) Change the DWORD Role data from 40 to 24
4) Now the application will show up in the list.
Cheers
Rowan
Excellent!!
Thanks a lot for the advices guys!!
I will try Rowan's suggest first because it is easier and sounds good to me! Only thing is I have flashed my Universal so currently the problem is gone. I will try it if it happens again or I may try it on my Windows Mobile Device Emulator later on.
Hi,
After a hard-reset I found wmwr_cprog.exe on my internal storage under programmes. Since I did a hard reset and thus thought this program wouldnt be installed anymore, I deleted the file, not knowing what it was for.
Now everytime I want to start my phone I get the message "The file 'wmwr-cprog' can't be opened. It isn't signed with a trusted certificate or one of the components can't be found. You might need to reinstall it or repair it if this problem keeps returning' (free translation from a dutch ROM).
What can I do and how can I do it. A quick answer is much appreciated since I cant make nor receive phonecalls and I am at work :-(.
Thanks in advance!!!
Solved
Posting the solution if someone else has or will have this prob in the future:
KB0808022: "The file 'wmwr_cprog' cannot be opened" error message after uninstalling WMWifiRouter
wmwr_cprog is an executable used to allow WMWifiRouter to work on devices that do not have actual voice capabilities, like the EM-ONE. Sometimes this application is not removed from the registry correctly when uninstalling WMWifiRouter, which can cause your phone to give you error messages.
To fix the error, you will need a registry editor, like PHM RegEdit (to use on your device itself) or MobileRegistryEditor (MRE) (to use on your computer and edit the registry over an ActiveSync connection).
Once you have launched your registry editor of choice, change the:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSCProg\1
entry from:
wmwr_cprog.exe
to:
cprog.exe
Close the registry editor, and wait two minutes - to make sure your device has saved the changes - and soft-reset your device. After the soft-reset, everything should be working as normal again.
