Problem with wmwr_cprog - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hi,
After a hard-reset I found wmwr_cprog.exe on my internal storage under programmes. Since I did a hard reset and thus thought this program wouldnt be installed anymore, I deleted the file, not knowing what it was for.
Now everytime I want to start my phone I get the message "The file 'wmwr-cprog' can't be opened. It isn't signed with a trusted certificate or one of the components can't be found. You might need to reinstall it or repair it if this problem keeps returning' (free translation from a dutch ROM).
What can I do and how can I do it. A quick answer is much appreciated since I cant make nor receive phonecalls and I am at work :-(.
Thanks in advance!!!

Solved
Posting the solution if someone else has or will have this prob in the future:
KB0808022: "The file 'wmwr_cprog' cannot be opened" error message after uninstalling WMWifiRouter
wmwr_cprog is an executable used to allow WMWifiRouter to work on devices that do not have actual voice capabilities, like the EM-ONE. Sometimes this application is not removed from the registry correctly when uninstalling WMWifiRouter, which can cause your phone to give you error messages.
To fix the error, you will need a registry editor, like PHM RegEdit (to use on your device itself) or MobileRegistryEditor (MRE) (to use on your computer and edit the registry over an ActiveSync connection).
Once you have launched your registry editor of choice, change the:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSCProg\1
entry from:
wmwr_cprog.exe
to:
cprog.exe
Close the registry editor, and wait two minutes - to make sure your device has saved the changes - and soft-reset your device. After the soft-reset, everything should be working as normal again.

Problem installing Smart Dialing

Hi, i'm from Spain (I don't speak english very well) and i've got a problem with my Imate Jam. After a Hard Reset, Smart dialing and other aplications didnt install. Then i tried to install Smart Dialing with a .cab file but i get the following error: The file \windows\iacontacts.dll are used or in ROM.
I tried to install it at the begining, but i get the same error.
can anybody help me please?
Thank you
nobody? I need to do a hard reset?
thanks
Hi, the messega that "\windows\iacontacts.dll is in use" indicates that the program is already installed and running. If not you can try the following:
- download memmaid (http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=14279)
- install it, it offers control of autostart programs and services
- find and disable the entry that corresponds too iacontacts.dll
- soft reset and install
Or you can do (prolly easier):
- use a file manager to go into the windows dir and find that iacontacts.dll (prolly hidden so use something like Resco Explorer to see hidden files)
- you wont be able to delete it and you should not do it anyway
- but you can rename it to something like iacontactsold.dll
- softreset and install the cab file, it will not bother you now because the dll has not been loaded because it has not been found (you renamed it)
- you can then go into the win dir and should find your renamed dll as well as a new iacontacts.dll, delete your renamed one now
By the way: May I ask what Smart Dialling does anyway? I've not figured that out yet. Its installed on my S110 and I have options for that in the phone tool but no idea what it actually does or how it behaves when it is not installed.
Thank u very much! I followed the second way and i get it
With Smart Dialing for example: To call "Churri" (my girlfriend) you can write 248774 instead of 222-44-88-777-777-444. To find a number for example 99565856, you write 995 and Smart dialing find it automatically.
Thank you very much
Ah ok so you can use fragments of numbers until the right ones are picked out. Pretty neat. I'm happy it worked for you.

Installation of App's and Reg Editor

Hi everybody, wonder if someone can help me.
I have both a K-Jam (just received and love it) and a JASJAR (love 3G and VGA Screen, hate it's slowness, big time, k-jam is by far faster and therefore usable).
I've installed the same app's on both machines. Doing this I've noticed that on the JASJAR it just installs them with no problems, on the K-Jam everytime I install an app, it first asks me if I really want to install it since it does not have a recognised certificate (or something like that). I always say yes and the app install (and work correctly... aside from one, see below).
However, amongst the app's installed is Resco Explorer, together with the Resco Registry Editor app. When I try and start up the Reg App, i get a message that says that "the file ':RRegistry' cannot be opened. Either it's not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall this file". Well, I did try reinstalling it and the same problem persist (BTW Resco Explorer and its other plug-ins work correctly). I therefore assume it's got because of this "certificate" problem I mentioned above.
Is anyone else getting this message on installations and is anyone else having problems with Resco Registry Editor? If yes, has anyone found a solution to fix this problem (i.e. being able to use the reg editor app)?? Please help me... i really want/need to be able to modify the registry on the K-Jam.... Thanks in advance
you you install the new version on the website the wm2005 version all work fine, i have the same problem with the 2003 version of it. but works fine now
i do get the message when i install programs,
i have installed & used both resco explorer & reg edit without any problems?
they both work fine for me (used reg edit for tomtom nav 5)
Resco Registry
I have the same problem. My version of Resco Explorer is v5.35, which is the latest.
It was working fine before I updated my Dopod 818 pro ROM.
Any insight?
Thanks.
Same problem here with my Universal... Any help ?

Every time I turn on it says "Cannot execute iMusic.EXE

I blame this stupid program called "iMusic" (nothing to do with Apple).
I installed it, assuming it is WM5 compatible, but it isn't (and that's another story), so I uninstalled it. But now every time I turn on the Universal a Notification Error pops up with the message "Cannot execute \Program Files\iMusic\iMusic.EXE"
It's still there after soft-resetting; and no, I'm not going to even consider doing a hard-reset for this!
I've already done a search for "iMusic" in PHM RegEdit but nothing was found; no iMusic related files in the Windows\StartUp folder.
Any solutions?
Download Memmaid or sktools and check your notification queue. There you will find an entry for the power on event (probably). Just delete it.

Never mind - I'm going to flash the Qtek AKU2 ROM anyway, but thanks Vijay.

The file 'IntShrUI' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with

Ok found ICSinstall.cab on here and installed it, soft reset, and attempted to install the latest version of the WMWifiRouter program (which I finally succeeded in sourcing!).
However I get a message telling me cryptically that it 'cannot be installed' after attempting install. I wonder if this is related to ICS...
I now have the InShrUI.exe file in /windows/ *but* attempting to run it gives:
'The file 'IntShrUI' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of it's components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file.'
I reinstalled it over itself (i.e. ran the cab again) same error.
:-/
Was this the right file? I seem to remember it was dated 11th January 2008??
Thanks again for hte help folks!
I should say I'm running Microsoft Windows Mobile Version 5.0 (OS5.1.195 (build 14955.2.3.0).
Lastly I should say I've started a new topic as the last one was getting a bit off topic my original concern having been answered :-D (thanks guys!)
probably you only opened a shortcut (*.ink) and the shortcut pointed to a not existing file. Another thing is that it also was intsalled correctly (the *.exe), but the dll's or whatever are not installed.
Regards
Thanks. I'll try redownloading and repeating.
I was wondering if the file needed signed with some unique private key or something?
Anyways will give it a shot and report back

Thanks for your suggestion I'm now a tiny bit further on.
On soft resetting the PPC I get the following error:
'Pocket PC Networking
Unable to obtain a server assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings.'
InShrUI is still giving the same error as before (and it's definately the .exe file I'm clicking).
However the improvement is: This time WMWifiRouter succeeded in installing...
However the same PPC networking error occurred during the install. I could probably tweak whatever is causing that error to use a static IP address rather than DHCP probably...but it's kind of dodging the problem.
And as said before I can't launch IntShrUI without getting that error. This time there is a shortcut to it though in program files.
I should also say that neither the executable or the shortcut has an Icon Image (i.e. it's the default no icon blank) so I suppose it might be the .exe file that's corrupt (since the shortcut get's it's icon from there I think?).
Last but not least:
WMWifiRouter reads:
Code:
'Not Connected'
Waiting for connection
I suspect the problem must lie with InShrUI but then again I'm a noob so I'll wait for the XDA gods to come and share their wisdom!

Is there no1 who can answer this? Anyone got any ideas?
Device is a hermes (T-mobile Vario-II) running WM5.....
There's one MAN point up for grabs for whoever can solve it!
I tried installing WMWifiRouter 0.89 onto a ROM which didn't have ICS included (which meant I had to try the same route you did) onto my Vario 2... I just couldn't get it to work, and I spent a while trying to make it work too.
I'm figuring that there's some deep-seated DLL or system association which ICS needs, which isn't configured if ICS is stripped out of the ROM - I ended up just reflashing with another ROM (the T-Mobile WM6.0 official ROM) and ICS and WMWifiRouter works fine.
Sorry that's not a solution, but it's the only way I could get it to work. Not an expert ROM cooker, so my knowledge of how ICS is stripped / included in ROMs is fairly limited, though I understand the concepts and techniques.
Thanks for your help Christopher.
I considered flashing a working ROM. My worry is about losing all the programs I have installed on the device (it took a long time to get it *this* customised ;-) ) is there any way to flash the new ROM while keeping the old registry entries etc. for registering my programs (Especially those I've bought such as Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine - which I cannot register anymore)? ...
Or could I somehow back up the registry and restore it later (I know that's likely to be a dangerous idea...perhaps simply the file associations and programs stuff -the windows mobile section?)
Thanks bro!

Bumping as no replies for ages
Anyone?
Bumping again as no replies for a week or so
Bumping again to ask if anyone knows a way of slving this without having to reinstall all my programs, re register them, and reconfigure everything? (which I suspect installing a different ROM will do?) is it possible to back up the registry entries for all of my programs then do the ROM upgrade and restore the registry entries from my other programsMost of my programs are installed on the microSD card anyway (i didn't want to use up the main memory and slow the device up).??
If so how?
Thanks again folks !
I have the same problem...
I cant seem to find the answer but will continue to try.
if your programs are installed on your memory card then chances are you should be able to past shortcuts into the programs directory after reflashing. I tend to do this BUT I have found some programs that need to be re-installed or re-registered. Backing up registries can cause SERIOUS problems in itself so I would 1st do a full backup of your system (try spb backup, it backs up EVERYTHING on the phone then re-installs the lot so it seems like you never had a problem..) then flash. Try putting on shortcuts and if you have no luck you have the choice to start again on the new os or reflash to old and then restore backup (old problems wil still be there). Hope this helps.
Ps. I use resco explorer instead of the crap file explorer on the phone. It allows MUCH more versatility to do as I want. Cheers....

[Feb 02][Q] HD2 WM problem after trying SD ICS Android

Today I tried the SD install of ICS as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437463 Used brand new 16GB card, created \\ICS folder, copied contents of the 7Z file; In WinMo File Manager, opened CLRCAD, then HARET - after a green HTC logo, restart to WinMo, tried several times to no avail. OK, just a testing, can try later...
Then I changed the SD card, inserted my original card used with WinMo and restarted WM.
BIG PROBLEM - I'm getting error message whenever running a program now, error msg reads "The file 'some file' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."
Searched the forum, found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392087. I have no reg editor installed, tried to install Total Commander but received "Installation ...was unsuccessfull".
What is the reason for this problem? How can I sort it out?
Thanks in advance
Have you an ActiveSync on your desktop PC? Try to use some registry editor that working via ActiveSync. For example "Remote Registry Editor", or look at that post. There is a link to such program.

Thanks. Downloadad/installed the CAregeditor on PC, opened registry of my HD2. I cannot change the value, getting "Write error-access denied/Cannot write value data". Any ideas?
Just 2 ideas:
1. "Connect to Device in CeRegEditor -> Tools -> Unlock Registry" (from this post). Or...
2. Hard-Reset
PS:
Some time ago I've used Android from SD, and got exactly the same thing... This caused me to reflash the ROM, but I've changed "0000101a" to "1" right after reflasing (this helped me to forget this problem).
Tried to unlock, still can't change the value. Also tried the other program recommended in the post but no - I cannot install it on HD2 - still the same problem :-(
Hard reset & ROM reflash probably the only way now, what a waste of time with reinstall/config of all the software/tools...
Anyway, thanks for your effort.
