What's up with it? There's adedicated o2 xda helpline for repairs, sorry, don't know the number off the top of my head but it's listed in the warranty pages you get with the handset.

Loose connector? Or actual screen damage?

Hope this helps.
Richard

Thanks for your help
Other than that if you were willing to send it to an o2 store and ask them to send it away on your behalf; any questions then just PM me.

Does anybody have the contact details for O2 service centres in the UK and Australia????
I have an XDA 2 that I bought sim free 3 months ago. I bought a replacement stylus that splits into 3 parts (its a pen as well) and the front part has come off and is stuck in the XDA where the stylus sits. I am unable to get it out and other than taking the XDA apart and voiding my warranty I am stuck.
I know I will probably have to pay but it saves me having to lose my warranty and take the unit apart myself (which I would prefer not to do). I need the service centres in the UK and OZ as I will be moving to Oz at the end of July and wouldnt expect to get it back in time but wish to speak to O2 service UK just in case.
Can anyone help please as I really need to get this sorted.
With thanks
Ian J
cool stylus
That sounds like a cool stylus, where did u get it from? shame about what happened to it though.
Some (mainly larger 1's) have instore technicians which can do all that stuff, there is one in Slough (west London area) which has got a techie that seems to know his stuff. More to the point, that is also where their head offices are, inc. customer services place, where i expect if u went in and asked they could sort u out.
hope that helps.

Thanks for the info.
The stylus came from Ebay. It was £7-99 ( I think) and it is good and designed for the XDA 2 but just a shame mine unscrewed itself and is now stuck inside.
If I can get it out it will be glued and then reused.
try a company called roadphone in norwich
there number is 08081003427
you may have to let the phone ring for a while as they don't answer it very quickly

The new aussie service center for O2 is in QLD's sunshine coast and they are called MPS. I had to use them a couple of weeks ago for my Xda II, however, I had the best experience. I reviewed the service and have posted it on MTekk ( http://www.mtekk.com.au/browse/page923.html ).
Try them at http://www.mpsqld.com

I've cracked the screen of my Exec.
The O2 shop don't know how much it will cost to fix. They say send it in and 2 weeks later it will come back with a bill, "Don't know how much - could be anything" !!
I sent it to HTC Europe, but they sent it back saying that the LCD on an XDA Exec is different from the T-Mo and Orange models so they can't fix it even though I was ready to pay for it.
So O2 is the only option.
Anyone know how much it costs?
Thanks
wanna let you know that O2 broke the contract with HTC (by asking another company to manufacture the O2 atom while O2 still having a contract with HTC).. they are no longer partner and HTC won't fix or sell their parts to O2(even you are ready to pay).Very bad news for o2 exec,o2 mini s owner..

This was an XDA Exec ?
Was this through an O2 shop or did you send it yourself?
If you sent it yourself, could you let me have the name, contact no., of the place you sent it to?
Thanks

Hi All,
I got a T-mobile MDA Pro off Ebay, it was supposed to be Mint but a week after I got it noticed that is had a couple of scuffs around the power socket.
I noticed on other threads that HTC europe can do Full Cosmetic Refurbishment for about £65??
Has anyone used HTC Europe for a Full Cosmetic Refurbishment?
Cheers
John
seems like a bit of waste of money to me

Hi I haven't used them for a refurb but I took my blueangel up there for a repair and when I got there I managed to drop my universal in the car park on the way in. the guy in there seemed really nice, I asked him about a new case for the universal ad he said it was about 60 odd quid so I assume they just replace all the cases for that price, he said it was a complete housing. I didn't bother getting it done though. blueangel came back working though, had to chase them a bit though but I wasn't really in a hurry for it though because I don't use it any more but bear it in mind that it could take a while, mine was there for about a week and a half. think they forgot. interesting place though from reception you can look round the corner and see them all working on the phones.

Not true. o2's XDA helpline will arrange repairs / cosmetic refurbs. SBE are only *i-mate* authorised service agents, no other Universal brands, and may not be able to get exec parts.
www.sbe-ltd.com
p.s they are useless.

They previously re-furbed my wallaby. But then I did work for them ( in the Arlington Centre in Leeds) at the time 8) .
What part(s) do you need? Are you happy fitting it yourself? I have everything but the base and hinge brackets.

Hi,
I had my Orange M5000 fully refurbished just last week. Took a week to come back but the quality and service was excellent, only cost me £30.
Came back with protective lables on it etc, that were easily pulled off. Looks like brand new again.
(Tho in true form for my universals, the hinge is already clicking as bit)

Hiya, Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK I can get my screen replaced or where I can get a new screen from? Sadly, theres a crack developed on mine and a load of dead pixels. cheers
Mine too. I haven't a clue how it happened. I sent it away for repair but the supplier said that there are no screens available... anywhere!
If you have any look, please post.
Cheers.
Hi both
If you have the xda exec go to your local o2 store and pay to send it away for a repair (if you have warranty this will be free!) and you might be lucky like me and some others and get a FREE replacement
You need to be the orginal owner of the xda exec though I think as I had to show proof of purchase even to send it away to get an estimate for the repair via o2.
With what oyu say about their not being any screens this might explain o2's stance saying they can't repair it within 7 days so you have been given a replacement instead :?:
Yeah, im with T-mobile. I think I heard that HTC will repair them for any except O2 who do it themselves which seems to tie in with what you are saying. I shall keep you posted.
Andy....did you meant warranty or insurance.... in the UK I have been quoted £115 plus vat i believe for a oem lcd.... problem is placing the actual order as you can see from my attatchment  ...I have dealt with this chap ages ago and see that his atitude twards buisness has not changed :?
BR
I tried looking on ebay / web for replacement LCD screens etc and it was going to be about £160 with a 3rd party repairer and that would have invalidated the 2 year warranty you get with the o2 exec so I went into the o2 shop and admitted that I dropped the xda and paid them £17.50 to send it away for an estimate.
They wrote on the form cusotmer dropped it and screen broke and as I say they sent me a replacement wihtin 14 days of me taking the exec in.
Putting what I experienced and PinkySlayer's comemnts together I think this is because they have no screens to replace them with so if you have an exec bite the bullet pay the £17.50 to send it away and you might get lucky too
Note I didn;t have their insurance or anything other than my receipt to say I purchased it form o2 6 months earlier.
Thanks for all the comments.
O2 suggested either an O2 shop or the XDA Repair Centre and as the shops as a PITA to get to, I decided on the Repair Centre. My mistake. I'll take the advice here and get to a shop and see what occurs.
Cheers,
Ged.
here in austria you will be charged about €300 for rapair...
spend another €200 and you´ll get an new universal
cheers!

UPDATE
I eventually took my Exec to an O2 shop and they agreed to send it away for repair but explained that I would probably have to pay at least a couple of hundred. I then happened to speak to our O2 account manager and she said that if I had called her, she would have sent me a new replacement without question! Obviously, I rang the O2 shop and asked if I could have the unit back but no, I would have to wait 28 days before I could request it's return.
Earlier today, 27 days after dropping it off, I received a text to say it was ready for collection and guess what? It was a brand spanking new unit, replaced under warranty - no charges!
Cheers,
Ged.
replacement screen
This thread seems a little old but I think it's still relevant and in need of an update. I broke the screen on my vodafone v1640 for the second time, and found it difficult to locate anyone who sells screens. Here are my findings:
There seem to be two ebay sellers that have them - this one and this one.
Both seem to be priced right around $160US shipped.
Beware of ebay sellers that keyword-spam and try to sell you other kinds of LCDs. If you find it for less than $100, it's probably not the right one. A seller that seems to do this a lot is called easyworldwidetrading.
Once you actually find one, it's actually not that hard to replace the screen yourself. It took me 10 minutes - you just need the soft pry tools that ipod hackers use, and the "confidential service manual" from HTC. It can be found elsewhere on this board(but you can PM me if you can't find it).
http://www.pocketpctechs.com seems like a reputable joint, but they don't say they sell the screen by itself, only installed - if anyone's gonna break my stuff, it's gonna be me. I'm going to give them a call and see if I can pick one up from them, as they are "stumbling distance" from me.

Hi Guys,
I'm going to Abridge the story as best as possible because it's quite long
Basically, I lost my Phone, Got it barred from the O2 Network and then, I found it again! Left it in a stupid place.
I've been through all the 100's of o2 channels all of which are tell me they can't unbarr it or help. Sent it in for repair, and, nothing. They are claiming the warranty is void because one of the water detection stickers is activated. I mean, that can easily be condensation from it being in your back pocket. The battery one hasn't triggered. I haven't submerged it. :3
Carphone warehouse can't do nothing.
tl;dr The phone is absolutely ace condition. Apart from a slight scuff at the top right and it doesn't work on the o2 network and i'd liek to swap for one that works on the o2 network
I'd happily pay anyone a good £10 (negotiable) for a swap for another HD2 in similar condition that *works* with the O2 Network. (preferably from the UK ;3)
Sorry for the ****e english, I've been awake 36 hours doing nights and being unable to sleep for ages. w00t insomnia)
O2 are full of ****, they can unbarr a phone, I barred and un barred mine when i thoough it was lost. google their MDs email address and ask him.
You serious?
You want me to ask the MD?...
Alright... D:

Theoretically speaking, Could a custom ROM effect the Barring process etc?
I mean, water damage isn't going to lock it out of a single network...
I'll email the MD later today, after this lady speaks to her advisor and calls me back. :|
Okay, O2, The MD, and The Carphone warehouse wont help me. This is now a plea for help or somthing.
Carphone warehouse wanted me to trade it in >_>
The hell? I'd get like £50 for it if I did that.
yea i can confirm o2 can unbar a phone, took them three days to unbar my xdaIIi after it was found down a friends sofa some months after losing it.
The kicker is it got stolen in a burglary a few days after they unbarred it.
No Barrs are active on the account, yet the handset still will not register to the O2 network. |:
What the feck has happened? Absolutely noone will take any blame in this!
Are you the original owner of the phone or did you buy it second hand
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
If barred it will be barred on all main UK/Europe networks as they share the database.
If it does actually work on other UK networks & O2 have done some sort of lock then they will indeed be able to reverse it ...
Nobody is going to swap a decent HD2 for a problem one plus 10pounds !
If you cam prove that it is there mistake as o2 seem to on occasion randomly black list imei numbers as I know from experience then it can be lifted but do.t expect them to make it easy for you.
Sent from my HTC X315e using xda premium
