Socket wlan won't wake up - Networking

Hey
I just bought I socket wlan sdio card to my Orange M1000. Everything works allmost fine except for one annoying thing. After turning off and then on again the XDA without removing the wifi card, it won't work. I remove it, reinsert it, but no, nothing, dead. This is very sad because the XDA goes to sleep by itself and when I wake it up, theres no network. I have the most recent driver, it is even more recent than you can get hold of on the net.
Any clues?

Remove the battery. Kidding aside, I don't think it is possible. The most I can do to limit the battery drain is to turn off all radios (GSM, WIFI, BT) then press the off/on switch.
I don't believe there is a way to FULLY turn it off short of removing the battery.
thanks for the reply.
you must be able to switch it off. I work with a lot of large electro magnets and need to be able to power down completely to aviod screwing it up in the fields
you cannot turn it off completely! only battery removal will do that,
its not like the wizard where you can press and hold the power button and do a shutdown,
is flight mode not enough? just where you turn the cellular parts off?
Oh well Bat out it is.
I have to walk though a strong magentic field to get to my office.
Can not wear a watch as it will get knackered.
One of the lads at work got a new laptop. Put it into Stand by walked it though the field and it was shagged.
The magents we use are massive. would pick up a car with no problem at all.

dont think so... just think about the following situation: You are 12 hours far away from.... a charger/home/USB port.. whatever, and the battery is running out. what do you do?
one solution would be to turn if off for a while... if possible.!
Yeah, its one really strange design move to not include an off button. I could never figure this one out myself. I assume it would be possible to add this, but it would require some hardware tweaking. Short of the huge car picking up magnet problem though, it probably isnt too big a deal (at least for me, the SD card stopping working at 5% power or whatever is much worse!)

Power button not always working.

This JasJar I have Always have problem waking up after period of inactivity. If I had it powered off for too long, I cannot bring it back to life with any hardware button, except the reset. Usually I can still see the green light flashing indicating the phone in on and working. But I had also tried to call it, but it won't ring. As a PDA the problem wouldn't bother me too much, but as a Smartphone it mean I might have missed a few important calls
the only solution i have now is i go to settings, power, advanced and i disable the "turn off device if not use for" option
it works all the time with me but it eats the battery, specially if i am connecting my BT headset
Please if anyone has a solution let me know
thanks
i forgot to say that it happens even if i take the SIM card out of the device, so i do not think it is a SIM card issue
i do not have and SD cards
Any Help?
it happens randomly with no specific reason, but I tend to believe it's due to a third party s/w. If you made a hard reset and kept using the device with only the standard applications, the device will be very stable except the bluetooth issues.
The issue of the PPC power button, whatever a soft one or a hard one, has been consistently existed since I bought my first PPC with PPC2000. I am so disappointed that it is exactly the same case after some 6 years...
It is usually due to some imcompatibility between the system and some today-enhancing add-ons, which seem necessary for us but sometimes however causing problems like a deep snooze...
thanks for ur answers, actually i do not think it is related to 3rd party applications on today screen plugins, since i already had reflashed my device and i am running now with no applications installed, i am not sure what Phono can do for me i will try to contact them today and see if i can get a replacement or what?
yet any other ideas will be really appreciated
Same problem in my device can any one help me Please
Hey, I had this problem too...
The only way I stopped my PDA from freezing like this was to disable the auto power off feature in Settings/System/Power and keep the backlight turned on (but lower without it plugged in) Settings/System/Backlight.
This helps with other bits too, makes the delay in the unit from ringing less and connection time faster.
Regards.

Did any experts here got a solution to this? I really don't know why it happened.. I am using MDA from T-Mobile..
still no solution !!
a small update here, i've noticed that this problem does not happen if i am connecting my universal to the power charger, it only happenes if it works on battery, maybe there is sensor or so needs to be replaced ..!!
i am wondering, is it a hardware problem?
do i have to replace my universal ?? or maybe there is something to do with the software or bootloader?

Um.. Today i tried to "tick off" the battery off option under the "System" page.. it works fine for the entire day.. And battery eats up is just normal. Anyway.. I think it's related to some software conflict of resources but not hardware.. um.. at least, this is one of the solution!

O2 Xda II Mini power button malfunctioning (software prob)

Hi guys,
Got my Xda II Mini a couple of weeks ago and I've encountered a problem.
Every now and then, all of a sudden the power button stops responding. I press it, and nothing happens. The only way to get it working again is if I perform a soft reset. Once the soft reset is performed and the system reboots, the power button will work fine for a while until after I've used a random application (seems to happen randomly with applications) then the power button will stop working again.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? It seems to be a software issue as the button itself isn't physically stuck, and getting it working again is done by a soft reset. Could it be something I installed?
power button
Anyone help on this?
power button
Had the same problem with my mini several weeks ago ie intermittant not being able to switch it on or off. A real pain! Thought it would have to go in for repair. A (dreaded) hard reset fixed it and it has not been a problem since.
Would you be surprised if I said that I have NO power button on my Magician. Well, I have been using it without the power button since I got it. I use the soft reset to start it, and to permanently turn it off, I temporarily slide down the battery cover. I keep Button Lock in Off mode so that I can turn it on with any button.
I have done numerous firmware changes to the phone using USB and the power botton hasn't been a problem. The very reason I could have this phone was that its previous owner lost the parts of the power button and he gave it away to me.
Since people are talking about the POWER BUTTON, just thought I would share my experience (well can't really say that cos I never experienced one) here.
I had the exact same problem - I took the SD card out and boom.. worked like a charm again
Would love to know if this is the same problem.

Fix found!
From the information posted on this forum, and an incident where my O2 XDA Mini was very low on batteries, I've put two and two together and I think I may have found a solution to this issue!
1. Start up your O2 XDA Mini with your SD Card taken out.
2. Once your Mini has fully booted up, put the SD Card back in.
3. Your O2 XDA Mini should work fine now, and no button lock problem!
My theory on why this works is that when you start up the mini, what happens is that the operating system recognises that the SD Card isn't that compatible and changes some settings. These settings changes in turn causes the button lock issue. Please correct me if I'm wrong

tekkaman, THANKS A LOT.
I just had the case this morning and your post saves my day

02 XDA Trion locking up

I have the 02 XDA Trion running the ROM Version 1.23.707.1 and it has been working fine for about two months. Now I get constant locks up after the screen is turned off, so by pressing the power button the phone does not come out of that mode.
All of the LED's blink as normal.
Investigation has shown that if I remove the starage card and press the power button the phone works fine.
The storage card has been checked and apperas to work fine,
Any help on this matter would be great.
Mark
Got any today plugins installed on the SD card? Was getting exactly the same problems when I did.
Thanks for the reply, no plugs in installed and it just started happening a few days ago.

bluetooth not working?!?!

Ok, I will try to make my probmen more clear...
I bought my Prophet (QTEK S200) in March and everything has been working fine (also bluetooth) till few weeks ago when, all of a sudden, my prophet start taking more than 4 minutes to boot. I try removing some hacks or uninstalling soem programs, but nothing. After few weeks I realise that actually also BT is not working: in comm manag, there should be an X on the BT button when turned off, but I see none; instead the BT icon is green but the blu led is not blinking. I try clicking on he BT button several times, but nothing changes: still the icon is green, no X and no blue led. I try also with SETTINGS > BLUETOOTH > MODE tab: I check the "Turn on BT" box and press ok, but nothing, because when go back to the tab the box is not checked anymore.
Yesterday I uninstalled an old version of Skype and installed the nw one, turned on my WIFI and chatted for a while: all ok. Then I open PIE and browse some sites and all of a sudden the prophet freezes. I soft reset (with the stylus) and guess what: the prophet takes less than 2 minutes to boot. I try to soft reset few more times: same fast boot. So I go and check the BT: it works properly now!!!!!
An finally I plug the USB cable to sync the prophet with Active Sync 4.2: sync is done. Then I soft reset again and guess what?!?!?! 5 minutes to boot and no BT working!!! SGRUNT!!!!!
Ok, I say, time for a hard reset: I press the two buttons on the left side and I use the stylus, press green button at prompt and hard reset starts. Guess what? The prophet takes 5 minutes to reach he windows logo and the first time wizard. I try 3 more times, same result. And when the prophet is up and running (after restore of original settings) BT is still not working...
I do not know what to think. To me it looks that the BT problem and the long boot are related. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Try the Hardreset. If the device will work well after that - it is just software problem. If no - sorry...
As i said, I tried hard reser, and still not working

not you alone .. me tooooo the same as you i feel that you like talk about me
its the same and im looking now for schematics for the phone
any one can help !!! please
Hi there,
i'm also having lot of troubles with my Prophet.
My opinion, but not sure as many other are using it successfully, it that it comes from the A2DP patch.
It started by the phone feature. I can't use it without using the Bluetooth headset (without headset, i have only noise in the speaker, also in the headphone plugged on the bottom). Then it started with Bluetooth that woudln't turn on. So no way to make calls anymore (shame for a phone...). And from this evening, i see issues also with WLAN!!! I can't turn it on.
Hard reset, flashing a new ROM, Radio ROM doesn't change anything.
I am desperated, i now need to flash it back to German O2 ROM and give it to repair to O2. Hoping they will not see it has been flashed with other ROM.
btw: could someone taking German <please> find me an adress for an O2 shop near Aachen? I can't find by myself on the O2 web pages. Many thanks in advance.
NO BT!!!
thegios, I exactly have the same problem, did you find a solution to your problem? NO BT, 5 minutes boot up time!!!

telephone replaced... (under warranty luckly...)
it looks like the broken bluetooth affects somehow the boot procedure
Oh no... I have this exact same issue... so it must be the ad2p hack... did we all have this? My phone take 5 minutes to boot and no BT too.... exactly the same!!! check my threads~~!
I did no ad2p hack
m... so the dealer wasn't able to repair it? i already have a mother board replacement... i don't want another one...
repair? do u think that for them it's cheaper to repair than to replace?
the dealer we have here seems to beleive so... they refuse to give replacements. and all they do is provide shotty repairs so you have to keep going back. its frustrating. This phone has caused me a lot of headaches.
I bought it in a big mall, so what the shop did is to package it and send it to the dealer and in 8 days i got back my same phone with simply the WHOLE motherboard replaced, which means new rom, new mac address, new everything
only front and back cover are the same
maybe.... cos I found a tape to cover infrared, so maybe they kept nly front cover, since also the power button feels different (not it is harder to push it)
loki bluetooth problem

myself too !!!!!
i have done all you said but same problems
i noticed that when you got windows mobile screen if you dont see the blue light
you can anyway reboot cause you wont got bluetooth at the end of the boot
when i associate a bluetooth gps, it s sucks...
anyway i m in the same s**** .
i think it's a hardware problem....
waitin for any another experiment to solve this f*** problem...
its a hardware... I installed a new rom and bluetooth worked until it was reboot... and also it would stop working when i left the phone alone for a few hours... MB had to be replaced...
my prophet also needs more than 4 minutes to boot. but my bluetooth is working and i don't see any other error. what can i do?
