unlocking german XDA - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Hi, I have an XDA which I bought in Germany but now i live in another country and i want to unlock it to use it with a local operator.
The unlock.exe file did not work, so i will try with the xda-manipulator, i have therefore bought a serial cable. i read in the forum that this sometimes works, sometimes not..can somebody tell me which experience you have with german xdas and unlocking, and whether this means some danger of breaking sth. ? I understand that if xda-manipulator does not work, the third and most risky possibility is to use the ROM-updater to change the ROM - thanks. my xda is:
ROM: 3.02.00 GER
date: 05/27/02
radio: 4.01 (what is this?)
protokoll 324e2

It should work perfectly.

Hehe, seems to be any very old ROM version (Maybe one of the firsts.)
Easiest way is to upgrade to the xda-developers specialedition rom 1.2. It's based on the english 3.17.03 ROM and icludes an tool called xdaunlock. With this tool you can unlock your device. Afterwards you can stay at this rom version or cook your own rom, that you want to use...
Disadvantage is, that you will loose all your data on your device. But there is no other possibility....

PS: If you want to go back to your old rom, you have to create a copy of the ROM
Tnx a lot, i dont need anything that is on him so its a great solution, i hope that it works with USB cable... im going to look for that on this page, right ??
Tnx once more

Qtek S200 upgrade (& support)

Hi all,
New to the forum and looking for some advice about ROM upgrades (I'm not a developer, so please bear with me).
I'm trying to find out if there's a newer ROM image that I can install on my new S200, but struggling to find the official support site.
Entering my IMEI number at qtekcorp tells me that a company called Teleservice offer support on this product, but they don;t know anything about it. Brightpoint won't accept my IMEI number for accessing their ROM section, so there doesn't seem to be any official support for the S200. That seems to leave this site as the only way to upgrade the device
I'm currently running:
ROM: 2.9.7.24 WWE
Radio: 02.07.20
Protocol: 413.1.03
ExtROM: 2.9.7.106
Can anyone tell me if there's (a) an official firmware patch out for this, (b) where I can get it, and (c) if not, can any of the other ROMs on here be used to get a newer version of OS on my device?
Many thanks,
Pete
Same problem with my Italian S200, qtekcorp after entering IMEI tells to go to teleservice website.
There's another company distributing Qteks in europe. Dangaard - http://www.dangaard.com/dangaardtelecomuk/
BrightPoint doesn't support Dangaard distributed devices.
Have a nice day,

XDA Orbit, ROM uploading problem

All, after reading all published threads on this forum and following all described instructions I still have problem with uploading new ROM to my XDA Orbit.
I unlocked my new XDA Orbit with Imei-ckeck.co.uk in order to be able to flash another ROM on my device. Everything went smoothly and the unclocking process was completed successfuly. The problem is that my equipment still doesn't accept another ROM, getting the same error message (INVALID MODEL ID) during the uploading process as before the CID was unlocked. So, I don't see any difference here after unlocking my XDA. Can you please help me to find out where the problem is, what I'm doing wrong?
Details:
My Equip.:
O2 XDA Orbit
ROM-version: 1.25.207.1 GER
ExtROM: 1.25.207.101
I'm trying to upload the new HTC Artemis, ROM-version: 1.12.405.1 WWE, ExtROM: 1.12.405.101 published on this web
Thanks in advance for all your inputs.
quite simple,
the roms you are trying to install are test-roms, just as the full name states it on the wiki.(afaik diffrent bootloader)
use the tmouk or the dopod rom and you are off in a zip with an english rom from either tmobile or the dopod p800w( by the way the rom i prefer- by far faster working than the earlier tmobile roms!!!)
greetz
Thanks Thormdac!
Does it mean I cannot use the standard HTC ROM, never? or is there any way how to change the bootloader? If I would upload the mentioned Dopod ROM, would that support my WLAN which is now working properly? I would rather use the O2 WWE version, but cannot find it anywhere.
Thanks again, you're very helpful!
i havent seen any other orig rom updates then the ones from tmouk and dopod. since the dopd p800w originally comes with wlan it should work on your wlan equipped machine. on my hero it doesnt cause it doesnt have wlan chip onboard.
we`ll have to see about other e.g. htc roms, but definitely are the test!!! roms not working
I've tried the recommended Dopod rom version, but got the same error message (Invalid model ID). Have no ideal where the problem is.
dont know then, contact imei check and /or rerun the unlock routine
what about tmouk rom. works all fine by me, dopod and tmouk!
yep, I know, I did...see my first post. I think I did everything exactly as described here, but still it doesn't work.
I can try the Tmouk rom wwe, but I am not sure whether it supports my wlan.
Is there anything else in the process I've overlooked? Has anyone else tried to change rom in O2 Orbit?
i'm also wondering about the difficulty and sheer viability of this rom change, cause i only have the option of purchasing a german orbit, but definitely would need an english rom with wifi

CID locked or not?

Hi there,
this is my first time writting for this Forum, even if present for long.
Basically I have bought a 3 months used Trinity (P3600) in Portugal with GPS enabled since it was the latest devices to be sold.
According to the guy that sold me this, the pda was blocked because sold by Operator. The PDA is in PT language.
Basically when looking into the ROM I got the conclusion that the one installed is the same as the available from htc page (by IMEI):
RUU_Trinity_HTC_PTG_1.23.410.2_103_6275_1.38.00.11_108_Ship.zip (downloadable file from HTC).
My device:
ROM version: 1.23.410.2
ROM date: 03/13/07
Radio version: 1.38.00.11
Protocol version: 32.71.7020.12H
ExtROM: 1.23.410.103
To me it looks like the same. Therefore I didn't even tried to upload it to PDA.
Then another test I've done, was to try another SIM card then the one I had tried before, and I did get astonished by the fact that the pda was unblocked to any kind of operators.
I started to think that the pda was "touched" and that could mean Warranty off.
I cannot garantee that because the pda contains the rom which HTC makes downloadable through IMEI, meaning maybe the pda went out factory already unblocked. Is it possible?
Since my desire is to check warranty status, maybe you could help me checking if this system was even upgraded, or if CID (which I don't know what means but presume...) was touched or not. Because basically if the PDA was CID unlocked I have already lost warranty and I can upload an English ROM which is one of my interests. If not and by somehow the pda is unblocked to operators but everything is legal, then I'll keep PT ROM until warranty is age limited.
Hope you could help with this as I could still send back to the seller if I'm not satisfied with something. And once more, one of my needs is to have English ROM. And warranty if still possible
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards.
