All, after reading all published threads on this forum and following all described instructions I still have problem with uploading new ROM to my XDA Orbit.
I unlocked my new XDA Orbit with Imei-ckeck.co.uk in order to be able to flash another ROM on my device. Everything went smoothly and the unclocking process was completed successfuly. The problem is that my equipment still doesn't accept another ROM, getting the same error message (INVALID MODEL ID) during the uploading process as before the CID was unlocked. So, I don't see any difference here after unlocking my XDA. Can you please help me to find out where the problem is, what I'm doing wrong?
Details:
My Equip.:
O2 XDA Orbit
ROM-version: 1.25.207.1 GER
ExtROM: 1.25.207.101
I'm trying to upload the new HTC Artemis, ROM-version: 1.12.405.1 WWE, ExtROM: 1.12.405.101 published on this web
Thanks in advance for all your inputs.
quite simple,
the roms you are trying to install are test-roms, just as the full name states it on the wiki.(afaik diffrent bootloader)
use the tmouk or the dopod rom and you are off in a zip with an english rom from either tmobile or the dopod p800w( by the way the rom i prefer- by far faster working than the earlier tmobile roms!!!)
greetz
Thanks Thormdac!
Does it mean I cannot use the standard HTC ROM, never? or is there any way how to change the bootloader? If I would upload the mentioned Dopod ROM, would that support my WLAN which is now working properly? I would rather use the O2 WWE version, but cannot find it anywhere.
Thanks again, you're very helpful!
i havent seen any other orig rom updates then the ones from tmouk and dopod. since the dopd p800w originally comes with wlan it should work on your wlan equipped machine. on my hero it doesnt cause it doesnt have wlan chip onboard.
we`ll have to see about other e.g. htc roms, but definitely are the test!!! roms not working
I've tried the recommended Dopod rom version, but got the same error message (Invalid model ID). Have no ideal where the problem is.
dont know then, contact imei check and /or rerun the unlock routine
what about tmouk rom. works all fine by me, dopod and tmouk!
yep, I know, I did...see my first post. I think I did everything exactly as described here, but still it doesn't work.
I can try the Tmouk rom wwe, but I am not sure whether it supports my wlan.
Is there anything else in the process I've overlooked? Has anyone else tried to change rom in O2 Orbit?
i'm also wondering about the difficulty and sheer viability of this rom change, cause i only have the option of purchasing a german orbit, but definitely would need an english rom with wifi

Hello everyone,
I have on order a o2 xda neo, I was told by the salesman that
the manual and os were in english.
I have now found out that the neo is a german version of the
i mate jamin. I feel very stupid.
What does this mean in real life terms? Will it have a german
interface that I can't read? will I have to flash the os?
anyone?
thanks,
Chance
O2 XDA Neo
Hi.
I have O2 XDA Neo too, it's one week now. It's from Germany so everything was completely german. I flashed the RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_Ship-NoVendorID.zip from here, it's english version.
But first, try to search for english localization of WM5. I you won't find it then flash the new ROM. The problem is, there is no solution to go back to O2 German ROM nowadays for IPL, SPL version 2.15.0001. You will surely get the new version. But in month or two, there will be tool to unlock the phone to be able to flash lower versions of ROMs. Read the forum, it's priceless source of information.
Thank you Median for your reply, I have heard many horror
stories about flashing ROM,but if I have to I will, So what your saying is
the ROM on the OS is different from the WM5 and that I have to flash both.
I appreciateyou taking the trouble to answer me.
chance
The file is the Dopod's ROM, it's newer version then O2's and includes english WM5. Flashing was abslolutely no problem on my Neo. It takes about 10-15 mins to flash. Some say 30 mins, but for me it was quick. And the best thing you can do when flashing ROM - don't watch it, it doesn't like it. You know, it's intimate time for the device

1) Do you have to CID unlock your Prophet before flashing to the Dopod Rom?
2) What was your SPL / IPL prior to flashing?
3) Does flashing change your SPL / IPL?
4) I have Orange SPV M600 with IPL 2.10.0001 / SPL 2.10.0001 and someone told me that i need to CID unlock first to be able to flash ROMs.
Is this true?
5) Also i do not see the M600 original ROM available for download, how do i go back to orange ROM if need be? Will it be possible if orange made their ROM available for download?
Pls help.
I've just flashed my O2 Neo bought in Germany, ver. 2.09.0001. I used the ROM available in the forum,
RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_Ship-NoVendorID
and it worked FINE. GREAT! I bought the telephone unlocked in Germany from O2, didn't needed to unlock CID. My GSM card from my brazil operator worked fine. Wifi too.
Thanks, I will try the Portuguese ROM now.
I have a question, if I flash the O2 neo to english version, the home-zone function will be lost or not?
It will be Lost but u can install the homezone needed files from the ext.rom afterwards. These Files should be available on the ftp Server.
AND:
I did also upgrade my German O2-XDA NEO to the mentioned Dopod rom - And you can also go back to the (older) Neo Rom later.
I do not know why but it is possible to downgrade from Dopod to the newest O2 rom, maybe because both are 2.15.x.x.?!
Hey guys
I picked up XDA Neo without thinking and cheking properly and i have adoubt that the device is not what the box says the bos says O2 neo and device dosen't say anything but O2 XDA and when I boot it, it says
HTC innovation
and next screen
IPL 2.15.0001
SPL 2.15.0001
GSM 02.19.21
OS 2.15.13.27
Dopod

I'm confused what it is???
I searched on net and read some where that XDA neo is for German market and for English Rom you update it with latest Rom for JAMin since they both have similar specs!
Now my question to gurus is whether is should try it or not?
If I loose it will anyone here be able to tell me how revive it?
I already paid 1200 for re-image once don’t want to pay again but that crash was due to some other software I was trying to install on the device.
Last but not the least where can i find LATEST ROM IMAGE FOR JAMin????
I will try and post the results here & I have no fear of loosing warranty since bought it from the gray market.
Please Advice.

Sainib
OK
so far I could find out that the ROM image that I'm using on my phone is "RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_Ship"
so can anyone suggest which version os imate JAMin rom will work on it?? and where I can find it?
Thanks in advance!
Regards
Sainib
It's simple.
Dopod 818pro, XDA Neo, Qtek s200, i-mate Jamin, Orange SPV M600 are all the exact same device manufactured by HTC under the name Prophet.
Obviously the device you have already had a ROM change.
Now first thing I recommend you do is make sure that the device you are holding looks like one of the names I listed above.
Any version of the Jamin ROM will do but you probably want the latest, with all the updates.
Then, you can go to www.clubimate.com and download the latest WWE (World Wide English) ROM from there. The only problem might be that you need to register your IMEI on the site to get access to the download area. I am not sure if they will except a device that wasn't originally branded i-mate.
Alternatively try looking on this site ftp (user xda, password xda all small letters).
One last thing. Search this forum. I read that some people think Dopod ROM is better than i-mate and some viceversa, but they all have their pluses and minuses.

Ah my mistake, the site is www.clubimate.com I fixed the message now. Anyway the ROM there is one of those you found, don't remember exactly which one so I guess it is useless to you.
The trouble is Dopod ROM version is higher then i-mate so the installer thinks you are trying to downgrade. I think there is a version of the updater on the FTP that will solve this but I am not sure.
At the top of the site there is a link to the WiKi, check there on how to downgrade.
As for FTP, I meant this site:
ftp://xda:[email protected]
Check out the Prophet directory.

Has anyone managed to successfully upgrade or change rom?
If yes, what rom did you start from and what steps for the upgrade/transition?
This will be useful information for all.
THanks,
I'd like to know the same thing. My Orbit came loaded with TMo MDA Compact III ROM instead of O2 ROM. Needless to say I'm a bit peeved. The vendor is trying to fix but I really need the UK or WWE English ROM for O2. Has anyone dumped this ROM?
well,
on the wiki you will find the tmobile uk wwe rom. this is flashable if your machine is cid unlocked-in case it is not(standard) you will get kicked out off the installation by a comment named "wrong ID model" at about 3% of the running routine.
to unlock cid and flash the named rom, afaik the only way is to pay imeicheck.co.uk.
afaik there is no other vendour rom available yet, meaning no chance to fully switch to e.g. O2 etc.
alternatively you can exit the installation prior to extrom installation via a softreset at the 3second count. this not installing your provider cabs, you can then download the various available extrom cabs from the wiki and install them manually by copy and double-tap on your device.
Thormdac,
This is helpful info. Can you help me with this question: I have a greek htc p3300 rom but I would be happy to have the English version. Should I simply prevent ext rom from installing or do I need to change rom? If I need to change rom will I be able to do so or could it be locked to the Greek rom?
Thanks,
dear apap,
language is purely locked to the rom version and has simply nothing whatsover to do with the extrom version cabs you install!!!
in order to change language to english then you have to use a rom stating...."wwe" somewhere in its declaration.wwe=worldwideenglish.
now your machine "htc p3300" is with wireless lan, right? afaik, the tmouk rom has not implemented wlan on my german hero(without wlan!). the community here still isnt sure where the wlan comes from, the chip or the rom. so if i remember correctly and the tmouk rom not having wlan support, but your machine needing it, then once u unlocked cid and install the tmouk rom should end you up not having a functional wlan! in case we suppose wrongly...you are the guinnea-pig...you should have wlan. confusing? well i simply dont know off by heart any more about the uk machines having or not having wlan.
greetz
Helpful once again Thermdoc,
The Greek version does have wlan so I will wait to see if somenoe manages to find a wwe rom that is wlan enabled before experimenting.
cheers, apap
Hi All,
I wonder if somebody knows where I can find a rom of Proximus in Belgium.
Hi,
I'm from Belgium also ... why would you like to have that rom? Just install the latest ROM version here available ... I think that's the best ROM you can have ...
Well, I'm also looking for that rom and more specifically for the extrom.
Proximus added some special items in that extrom which I would like to have :
The mobile TV player (and I guess you also need the certificates), a custom version of MMS composer and a cab file which sets all connection settings, etc.
So if anybody has that rom (or ExtRom), please post it here.
Regards,
Bendalf
UP!!
Anybody can HELP with that?
Up I'm really interested in that too...
In fact I want to try upgrade to WM6 but I also want to be able to put the phone back to it's original state.
I don't know if it's really possible cause I have to update all software parts...
The reason is for warranty...
Guys,
Don't know exactly what part of the ext rom you're referring to? I bought a regular Dutch TyTn and have been flashing and reflashing and reflashing again From WM5 to 6 and back again, changing SPL in between and even started a little cooking of my own.
Most of the cooked roms work (very) well, but if you really want to make sure, you need to dump your original rom first before you flash a new one. (read the wiki and all the threads you can find first)
Anyway, I hope you have as much fun as me discovering how to customize your hermes and make it do what you want, how you want it and more important, make it do what you want it to do.
Grtz.
Hi aeroke,
Thank for your answer.
In fact, I'm just waiting to be sure that I can if needed (ie: hardware problem that need warranty) I can restore the phone to the exact original state to avoid any warranty problem.
So tell me if I'm wrong but full original state is:
- original IPL
- original SPL
- original radio rom
- original rom
- original extended rom
For now, I try to find each "original pieces" before upgrading
- for extended rom: I unhide it and simply copy/paste content of "Extended_rom" folder to my computer. Is it the right way ?
- for rom: I find a tutorial on the wiki and I'll follow it this evening, I hope I can do that
- for radio rom, IPL, SPL: for now, I don't know if it's possible to get (by dumping or downloading) the original ones and restore them after
I write all the informations I found in my phone for the original versions, here there are:
HERM200
IPL-1.00
HERM200
SPL-1.04
version ROM: 1.18.256.2
Date ROM: 07/2/06
version Radio: 1.03.03.10
version de Protocole: 32.34.7010.01H
version ROM Extended: 1.18.256.9643
So, as soon I'll be sure that I can roll back to the original state, I'll upgrade to the WM6 schaps version by following the vanx guide.
I found a guide for backing up and restore the TyTN by dumping the ROM just here. But I never found any guide to restore SPL, radio ROM, IPL...
I'll be happy to have any informations about that.
Thank you in advance
Don't worry about the warranty, i bricked my Hermes once (only after that i found out how to do it right ) and it was repaired with no extra costs. So i wouldn't worry to much about it.
Just go ahead and flash that thingy. Btw, the Black Satin (JJ) together with radio 1.47.00.10 works perfectly with Proximus.
Thanks for your response, I'll look about Black Satin.
Just another question, is there any incompatibility with any WM6 and Extended_Rom software provided by Proximus ?
I haven't used any software from Proximus untill now, bought my Hermes with standard WM5 and flipped in my Proximus SIM card. The software you find here on the forums do everything that you can imagine, so there is really no need for special proximus software i guess.
As far as I can tell, the IPLdoesn't change normally, but the SPL does change. Anyway no worries as you can restore your original SPL (I still have the 1.04 somewhere)
The radio rom can always be flashed back with the original duth rom you find here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades
This rom also reflashes your IPL and SPL back.
As far as compatibility between the WM6 roms and Proximus soft goes, I don't know, but I can't imagne you need more/other soft than you find available right here.
EDIT: This is only my personal opinion, but I think I tried about al the WM6 roms and find the one from Schaps the most stable one, perhaps not the most graphicaly exciting one, but the most stable one.
Grtz
Settings Proximus
Hi, I'm also on Proximus here in Belgium. Has anyone found an Ext_rom yet from this provider? Or maybe any ideas when they will launch their wm6 version?
I haven't got the settings for proximus. Any help?
Tnx in advance
Hi,
I have one Hermes from their "Proximus Collection" so I have a Proximus Ext ROM on it. I can do a Backup of it and upload it to the xda wiki. (I'll do that this evening if I can).
I don't know if Proximus will provide an upgrade to WM6...
Thanks Genyam for your help.
Can you tell us the rom version you have ?

Would that work with WM6?
I don't know if it works with WM6 but as this is only a set of CAB files, I suppose that they are compatible.
I've already created and uploaded to xda ftp a dump of my ROM.
My infos:
ROM: 1.18.256.2
Date ROM: 07/2/06
Radio: 1.03.03.10
Protocol: 32.34.7010.01H
Extended ROM: 1.18.256.9643
The CID for the Proximus Hermes: QTEK_203
OK thnx, grabbin it right now. Is it French only?
The dump that is already uploaded is for ROM, not Ext_ROM, I'll put my Ext_ROM this evening.
I suppose that it's not french only cause when I hard reset my Hermes it's in Dutch.
yeah thnx i noticed. Np, i'll grab it tonight then.
The Extended Rom is added to this wiki page: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtendedRoms
This is the first of the page
I tried to load the german wm6 os.nba another poster provided (using the aWizard tools, which I had previously sucessfully used to load the WWE HTC rom on my Chinese Dopod 858), and currently the device just sits at the logo screen.
I can enter the bootloader, and I can even use the 'official rom updaters' while in the bootloader, unfortunately they all fail at 2% saying 'invalid device id'.
Any advice on how to get my phone running again?
I think if I could find a chinese dopod 858 updater, I could use that to load a proper OS onto the rom, but I can't find one anywhere.
Another option would be to 'more completely' unlock the cid, then I could use the HTC updater... but all the cid unlockers seem to require a working active-sync connection, which I certainly cannot provide from the bootloader screen.
Again, reaching out to the more experienced here to help on this.
thanks
Did you check on www.dopodasia.com for your phone's original ROM updater? Dopod always has the latest ones they've released for each model on their site...
From the other Herald thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290382), I read that the extracted WM6 German OS.nba was corrupted due to some error in the extraction process. Papamopps has promised to post the OS.nba again, hopefully soon so you could maybe try to flash that version too.
P.S Aiyo? What language is that?
I tried, I'm not able to get an account to their site. When I enter my serial number, I always get an error.
Oh, and 'aiyo' is mandarin chinese pinyin for doh, embarrasment, frustration... that sort of thing
Sorry can you tell me where to Download original HTC Updates ?
My Update did not work out, too and i am stuck in Bootloader by now....
i think i can flash the WWE, will try this now !

SOrry - there is no WM6 WWE.
I made a backup with awizard to dump the german ROM of XDA terra (aka herald) - But it was only read from 0 to 58000 - I figured it out - that the os.nba is not completly.
So I deleted the links I provided.
SORRY.
Hope it will work again.
Thanks for the replies, but I think the only updates that will pass the cid lock would be an official update for that phone... specifically, a Dopod C858 sold in mainland China... (ugh). I still haven't found an appropriate updater.
