I am not using it but i want to buy. After knowing about this dead issue I am curious.Whats the problem with that device and when Poco will fix this issue? Is it a update issue or a hardware problem?

my son's one died too, mine which is still on 12.0.8 global works just ok.
Luckily I have sent it to official repair shop because it's still under warranty. Will report back what they say. MIUI is really garbage, once it is back I am going to flash it.

How many days the warranty claim took to replace your phone's motherboard?

Overall it took about 10 working days. 3 days to collect the phone at my place and ship it to the service centre, 5-6 days for repairing (I think they did not have a spare motherboard available, so they had to order one), another 2 days to ship it back to me.

My POCO M3 got dead suddenly. I read somewhere on XDA about battery trick. I just removed back cover, removed battery terminal and reconnected it after a minute, pushed the power button and phone started normally after being dead for 2days. Now it's working fine thanks God.

Dead Blackstone - Advice Please?

Hi all,
I've just obtained a HTC Touch HD (Orange UK flavour) which is dead
Does not turn on, does not do anything at all
On charge, it does nothing - I'm not sure if the HD has any indicators on when charging?
All it does is after 5mins or so, the bottom bit of the phone heats up
Any advice before I try and see if its a hardware issue inside?
Thanks,
AJ
send it back?
it should have 2 years warranty if you are the original owner
Fixed mine total reboot.
Last week after leaving it on windowsill.(Thunderstorm at night)
My Touch HD was dead. No LED would not switch on and would not charge.
I took back off and reset everything. Took Battery,Sim and memory card out and put them back. Then it worked. Been OK for 7 days now.
I think static from storm had effected it.

I had the exact same fault. Sent it back to HTC and they replaced the main board. When i got the phone back, it worked for 3 hours and then died again. Its back with HTC!!!!
Sending it back might not be an option as I am not the original owner
~I actually work in repairs and the customer bought it "new" on ebay so to speak.
I suspect it is the board as ardsar pointed out but whether HTC will honour it as it is a Orange branded unit is another question
My Warranty Card mention One year limited warranty (Repair only - If feasible it seems as per dealer ).
and 14 days of Replacement Warranty for any manufacturing defects.

OMG.. That means these expensive devices are really flimsy and fragile..
Off topic: One of my friends broke the screen in a crowded Local train by mere pressure on it in Shirt pocket (screen facing body in the soft case) by co-passengers!! HTC ppl say have to replace entire display and costs 70% of the device itself.

S4 resetting / loosing battery

Got some weird problems with my S4.
So I had a rom installed, noticed the phone kept crashing, as in now and again screen would not turn on and it reset, now it got worse and to the point the phone would no longer boot.
So I flashed a stock rom: I9505XXUEMK8
And whilst the phone works, sometimes I get a no sim alert then then the phone resets and I can't get back into the OS without plugging it in.
I check in recovery and noticed even thought the battery life was showing at like 70% it's suddenly down to 0%
So nearly all of the time if I try to restart my phone I need to plug into charger to do it.
I've even flashed with PIT file too.
Any ideas what could be wrong?
Also getting no SIM, signal cutting out then resetting.

A large quantity of samsung S4 was shipped with bad batteries that starts to swell after 2 or 3 months of usage, change the batterie under warranty since this is a know issue at samsung.
kind regards
I had a similar problem with mine. Phoned Samsung here in the UK and they wouldn't acknowledge there was a battery problem and wanted me to send the phone, battery and charger back to them which they reckoned would be a 10 day turnaround. I couldn't be without a phone for that long so I bought an Anker battery as no one I spoke to about a genuine one would guarantee a new battery with a good serial number Since fitting the Anker one I've had no more problems I still want a new one from Samsung though
I'll buy a new battery, I thought the battery was swelling and not sitting in but thought it was just me !!
It is indeed swelling, will it explode?
But does that explain the no sim and signal disappearing?

Check your battery serial #. If it starts with BDxxx or DDxxxx, Sansumg recognized they are dammaged and should replace it to you.
If its swollen then it's damaged.

Here you have your resolution. You have a Samsung recognized damaged battery. Try to change it in the SAT (it should be free), or buy a new one.
Be careful, swilling can damage the hardware by forcing it... in your position I wouldn't use the phone anymore till you have a new battery.

[HELP] Battery problem

Recently I've rooted my phone, one week later I was experiencing battery problems, drop 30% to 3%, unexpected shutdowns, camera and flash almost not working.
The flash doesn't work, only turns on one led and the. Shuts down, sometimes both but then shutdown instantly, he camera (when bat is lower than 30%) looks like a CRT TV
I've flashed the stock rom xt1644, and still having the same problems.
Any suggestion?
Edit* it wasn't hardware problems, battery was uncalibrated, I followed these steps
https://www.androidpit.com/how-to-calibrate-the-battery-on-your-android-device
Edit* wasn't battery uncalibrated, was battery pin problem (contact problem maybe), I've removed the back housing, and disconnected the battery, now everything is working fine

Ok, but only rooting the phone won't cause such behavior. I know iPhones, Nokia, Blackberry etc. with similar problems and after opening that, the moisture indicators were red or metal/parts was corroded, that's why I'm asking. Even dropping a phone can bring problems weeks later (iPhone 4 sound chip, wasn't soldered good). And as it seems you're the only one around here with this problem, I guess it's a hardware failure. (sorry for the story )
For understanding: you only root the phone to, nothing else(flashing something)

Was your phone new and the package sealed?
Is it only when the battery runs low? Mine did the thing with dropping from like %80 down to 30 then shut down and would turn back on at be like 44. If I used camera it shut the off off and sometimes calls too. I was told to try calibrations and resets and didn't help. Turns out I had to get the battery replaced by moto.
I experienced the exact same issue

Had this same exact problem with this same exact model of the G4 plus on the stock rom (unrooted). I sent it in for a warranty repair and it came back to me with the same issue. I ended up doing a warranty exchange where you put down a deposit and they send you a new phone and release the deposit back to you when they receive the defective device back. I don't think you would be able to swap the device if you unlocked the bootloader and rooted the device since that voids the warranty but I can confirm that this is most definitely a defective hardware issue you are experiencing.

Ok... So this problem can also be present before you do flashing. Imagine the guy did what I think(dropped it, moisture, bad hardware cause lenovo manufacture it on a Monday), he recognized it, then sell it maybe with bootloader locking and you're happy who bought it now. That's possible!

I'm just curious, did you root using SuperSU? If so, which version did you use? I ask you this because you keep saying that all these issues propped up AFTER you rooted your device.
Battery charge jumps can be caused because of battery calibration issues, which you can recalibrate using a plethora of apps available (by using root access), or the old fashioned way.
I didn't respond till now because of your camera issues — CRT stumped me.

Look at iPhone 6 or Note 7 complex hardware, short research and development cycles, cheap parts, human fail. It can happen everywhere today.

Huawei P9 Lite flickering bar

I have had my Huawei P9 Lite (Android 7.0, EMUI 5.0) for less than a year.
A flickering bar has appeared a few weeks ago at the bottom of the screen. It's always there, even during the Huawei loading screen when I reboot it. Also, it seems to have gotten bigger over time, covering a larger portion of the screen. It doesn't seem to affect the touch screen though.
the bar doesn't appear on screenshots.
Any ideas how to get rid of it?
Hey man, im seeing the same problem with my phone. Any advice on how you fixed it? Thanks in advance
I had the same problem. So I went to a Huawei Repair/Service Point and got the screen replaced.
On average how long will the repair time be?
I may have to carry in mine to get replaced too but I want to know how long will they take to replace it, if same day that will be amazing. Also, before carrying it in im thinking about flashing the ROM to see if the problem will fix. Do you think this is a good idea?

I had to keep my phone with them for a day. But that is due to ongoing phone repairs at the Huawei Service Center.
And also as far as i know, it's a display problem. So I don't think flashing roms will help.

Oneplus 5 hangs everywhere, even in boot. Please help, what should I do?

I am using oneplus 5 more than 1 year now. But 2 months back, suddenly it started hanging like crazy. I tried to reboot, it was even hanging in the reboot. (I have never rooted device and I was on android oreo 8.1.0 and Oxygen OS 5.1.6).
After that, I visited oneplus's two different service centers, both did the same thing. First, they flashed/wiped my phone to factory reset then they checked the hardware. Both said that there is something wrong with hardware so they need to change motherboard which will cost around 2/3 cost of the whole phone. When I asked about the specific problem in hardware, they said they are not sure but the problem will be resolved once the motherboard will be changed.
As I didn't want to spend that much on the repair I tried a few things myself. I tried downgrading Oxygen OS to 5.1.5 and to my surprise my phone was started working normally again. But after 1 week it started hanging again. After that I have tried almost everything like clearing cache, factory reset the phone, downgrade Oxygen OS, upgrading OS to the beta version, now to latest OS 5.1.7 but it was same.
One thing that surprises me that it starts working normally randomly for 1-2 days then it goes back to hanging. It happens randomly and happened 7-8 times till now.
Last night I rooted my device to see if anything will change but it was of no use. My device was hanging like the same. Guys, please help me what should I do?
Did it start lagging even after factory reset(no 3rd party apps installed) or after you install apps/restoring backups?

It started hanging soon after factory reset , even before taking backup or installing any third party app.
My mom had an HTC one x years ago and after a couple years it started lagging really bad. She gave it to me when she got her new phone, even after a full wipe it still lagged and eventually started rebooting under load. I assume it was a motherboard problem in that case and possibly in yours also.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
They've identified a motherboard issue. The same thing happened to my OP3. Unfortunately, there is no coming back from that. Like you, I tried different firmware, ROMs, settings, sim card, etc... Nothing you will do with software will fix your issue which is hardware.
After two months, I sold my OP3 for parts and bought a used OP5.

No no. What you do is buy one from eBay with a broken screen that's not blacklisted and swap the motherboard. It's around $100

It's not too hard to swap. It's just opening the phone that is a pain. This new glue things together is no fun.
I don't think the OnePlus 5 is glued together. It's just really tight clips that appear to be even harder to get open than the glue used in the iPhone's. (I just replaced the screen in my girlfriend's IPhone 6s and also opened up an iPhone 6 I am replacing the screen). Despite having cracked screens they came open pretty easy, just slice through the glue with your opening tool. Watching the videos the OnePlus has no glue but appears to be much tighter than the iPhone's.
I'm replacing the battery and charging port in mine soon so I can let you know how it goes. The battery is down to 81% health and dash charging isn't working anymore. It still can last 2 days despite the battery health drop so I'm not in a rush.
