hello friend developper.
I followed the guide for root min oneplus 8 pro.
Everything went pretty well, however when I am in magisk and I want to give super U rights to an application a pop up appear and disappear quickly and nothing happens ...
DO you have any idea?
IN2023
OS 11.0.1.1.IN11BA
Update magisk or change channels then change back
Do you have systemless turned on? If not turn it on

ok, I started the whole root procedure again and it worked! besides, I finally access the factory mod! ?. Your tutorials are great and it helped me a lot. I just have to succeed in calibrating my fingerprint which no longer works since I changed my screen. In China they sent me the calibration procedure but it failed at the last step. I dig the problem
Thanks
Glad you got it sorted!

Lovely.
Well done. Good luck with your fingerprint.
It'd be really useful information if you documented what you actually do with your fingerprint calibration as it may help others who the up in the same position.
Plus you'll structure your process much better if you're logging what you're doing.
Might help.

Even though there's a failure did it work?
Just thinking, did the screen that was you got actually allow the fingerprint to pass through?
I'd have thought it would but thought I'd ask
unfortunately its not working yet but I believe it ?. the fingerprint work on the old screen .... ???

Afaik there is no other solution than recalibrate your fingerprint sensor. And this can be done at oneplus service center. I havent heard that anyone succesfully have done that them selves. Screen replacement makes previous persist.img useless as they seem to be tied together. I had my screen replaced twice (green tints etc) and they had to use their own tools to make fp work again
hmm I understand. nobody succeeded in doing the calibration. however, this does not seem impractical. I am working on the problem right now with our Chinese friends. They manage to carry out this calibration ?. I will send my oneplus to oneplus after trying everything ∆∆

So I got some bad news
There is an area on my Nexus 4 that receives no touch input. Either that, or it is extremely inconsistent. This is the section right about where the bottom row of icons are located, directly above the on-screen navigation buttons.
I tried installing this "fix" for touch sensitivity, but it did not fix the specific problem I am having. And I noticed this problem before I tried that fix, so it was not a result of that.
I am about to try a full system reset to see if that helps. Hopefully it will. I will post back if it does.
If I have to send it back to Google, what process would I need to go through to make sure they don't know I rooted? Just unroot? Or would I also have to lock the bootloader as well? And would a full system reset do all of that? Or do I need to go back and use the toolkit?
Here is a video I just shot showing the problem:
EDIT: And unfortunately a full reset just made it worse

very interesting......
I would definitely RMA that. It's clearly an issue. I just ran the same touch tests you did in the video and have none of those same problems. The screen recognizes my touch even at the very bottom of the screen where the nav bar starts.
As for unrooting/re-lockingt he bootloader, just use Wug's toolkit:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015469
This worked flawlessly for me to unroot and re-lock the bootloader of my first N4 before sending it back to them. The toolkit is very straight forward.
I tried using the Nexus 4 toolkit to restore to a factory image, but I am getting an error every time it tries to download it
EDIT: I am about to try that other toolkit posted above ^^^

Just make sure you follow the step by step guide for installing the proper drivers and uninstalling rogue ones before trying to unroot/lock the bootloader. It is super easy just make sure you read all the instructions and follow them to a T. After doing that the toolkit will work perfectly for you moving forward. Even with your next N4. I used it again today to root my replacement N4.
I encountered a MAJOR problem!
I did the flash stock + unroot part and that worked fine. But I am completely stuck on the last part.
Now I need to lock the bootloader again. In order to do that, I have to have USB debugging turn on. The problem is that in order to turn it on, I have to get into the phone. But I am stuck on the initial phone setup! The only way to move past the stage I am stuck on is to click an arrow, but the arrow is in the dead zone and the dead zone just got worse! I can't move on!
Anybody have any advice? I am totally stuck.
EDIT: Got it! At that stage I put the phone in landscape to avoid the dead area. Then the Android tutorial came out and I couldn't get out of it to go to settings and enable USB debugging mode. So I went to the lockscreen, after 20 tries got Google now pulled up, and was able to type in settings to open it up and enable USB debugging mode. Finally got the bootloader locked. Should I be good to send it back to Google now?

Odd it's so zone-specific... I'd suspect the grounding short is right near that lower micro-USB area. Thank Gawgle for quick RMA supply!

I hava the same issue
I have same issue in the same area of display, but my is sporadic, it's not present all the time. It comes and goes. I removed front protector, issue was still present. Then I removed back protector and did a factory reset, and now it's gone for 5 days. It's bought in Canada, and I'm from Serbia so it's a little tricky for me to send it for RMA because now I am not sure if the issue is realy hardware type. I run it in safe mode and it behave same.
Sometimes if goes totaly crazy with tens of simoultanous touches around non working stripe. Lock unlock and it's gone.
Tafak?!?? Don't know what to do...
Hi,
my fingerprint reader stopped working (not recognizing finger) so i had to use pattern. A day later the security setup changed - even though the fingerpring & pattern was required, any button normaly turns on screen and vibrates as if I touched the reader. Fingerprint patterns are still present but I cannot add any as the reader doesn't recognize the finger.
I didn't do any system updates or changes. Running version 12.1-YOG4PAS3OH
Anybody with this issue?

There are multiple solutions in zuk forum which sometimes work(delete database, delete credentials) or not and then it's a hardware failure. It's all documented and can be easily find with Google or forum search.

Thanks, I tried those of course before creating this thread. the difference is I din't change/update the system nor did any other change, removed the smart lock settings etc. I am afraid only thing to try is the factory reset.

It's essential to tell what you've done before requesting for help, otherwise you see replies like that
Hardware issue with fp reader is very common. A friend of mine has also dead fp reader. My zuk has defective digitizer. As good as the hardware looks on paper, the quality is very bad compared to the device's sold.
same here it's a hw problem, i was on cos like you and after i went to cm13 (so much better btw) but still doesn't work. i'm waiting for the fingerprint replacement I ordered.
my oneplus 5 was working fine before 4.5.13 ota update after that my phone doesnt rotate to left and gets inverted.I tried flashing other roms and hard reset but no luck. There are more users having problem after this update, any solution?
Pass the stock rom by adb sideload
Set the device to fastboot mode and connect the USB cable. Then type:
adb sideload rom.zip
For more information go to oneplus website.

Yesterday I went to OnePlus service center, they're asking me to pay 2900 INR for the sensor.
I've denied to pay and they rejected my devise by mentioning it as a physical damage
I bought my phone a few days back and noticed same funny behavior with compass (if not mistaken works with rotation sensor also). I gripped my phone firmly so my phone can't fly off from my hand, after that I gave it several sharp and sudden turns on both ends of 3 axis of rotation (X,Y,Z) my problem was solved. You can try it at your own peril. If you have positive results, let me know.
I had this too. Now I'll stay on OOS 4.10 after gettig it repaired for free.

Hi, my wife's Lemax 2 finger print scanner works fine (rose gold 4GB/32GB) mine (grey 6GB/64GB) is totally useless! I'm going to try and change it, found this video (sadly in Portuguese) on how to change it, which also has a link to buy them for less than $7!
I ordered one yesterday, they've shipped it today. Need to work on my bravery now

Did you try some of the "fixes" before you go to those lengths? Different firmware, ROM, battery drain.....
Is it completely dead, or just slow?

Tried them all, it has never worked from taking it out of the box. Even the calibration doesn't detect anything. Running Slim7, still dead, tried the modem flash... DEAD!
Heyyo, eh a screen replacement isn't that hard tbh... Just have to heat up the phone enough for the glue to get soft.
Yeah if the modem firmware doesn't resolve it when flashed via TWRP then it would be a hardware issue.
Last ditch attempt to try and solve it via software would be to try and flash back to stock EUI ROM via fastboot. There's a guide for doing so in the guides section by greenManGaming if you wish to try it
My Lemax2 fingerprint scanner behaves strange.. it gets unlocked with the finger that is/was never saved.. help me...
the LeEco FingerPrint sensor sucks.....otherwise it is a great phone
Guys - the easiest way to get development started on a new device is to NOTIFY the device manufacturer that there is a NEED for the company to fix issues. The first issue is THE BOOTLOADER UNLOCK METHOD BREAKS THE FINGERPRINT SENSOR. This is obviously highly undesirable for anyone who wants ROOT. *** NOTE THIS CAN BE AVOIDED ENTIRELY THROUGH THE ROOT BYPASS METHOD (FP STILL WORKS), AND A USER HAS FOUND HOW TO RECALIBRATE THE FP SENSOR AFTER A BL UNLOCK, XDA POS: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nu.../guide-calibration-finger-print-loss-t4132961
The main issue is Google Pay does NOT WORK with NA and Global ROMs. It reports 2 cards instead of 1 card when you go to a terminal, so you can NEVER make a payment!!!
So how can we fix this issue? COMPLAIN!!! We got source this way already (THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP GUYS WE DID IT!)
METHOD #1
EMAIL Nubia customer support (probably our best path) at [email protected]
You can simply report the issue similar to this message in your email:
Google Pay does not work with NFC which your Global and North American ROM claim to support. It reports 2 cards at the terminal instead of 1 card so payment fails EVERY time. This is an issue across the world for everyone with Google Pay. WE NEED THIS FIXED AS IT IS A LISTED FEATURE OF THE PHONE THAT DOES NOT WORK.
Please fix as soon as possible.

I have done as advised let's hope they fix this

ZTE released the source code for the Red Magic 5G... hopefully this will kick start development for this phone because it has so much potential.

Well, the future updates are the only reason that hold me back from buying this phone! So I'll give it sometime to see what happens.. We will see..
Keep contacting guys..
Nevermind you closed the one with the new title ... Keeps this alive. Thanks Admins.... I don't see why closing this and opening another that resolves remaining ones is a problem. When I link it elsewhere it still looks like the original issue where we fixed or worked around 2 of them and now the last to address is GPay.

Also, the bootloader unlock on the Redmagic 5G disables the fingerprint sensor completely - the error message says to contact Nubia support. The device will not even allow a fingerprint to be added. The Android installation detects the sensor on the "back of the phone" i.e. missing the Goodix in-screen fingerprint location, so it can not be added. Later trying to add an FP results in an error:
Loss of fingerprint calibration data

Johnny can you explain the calibration steps for everyone with this issue? We've seen the factory calibration device that no one can find for sale anywhere. But some have managed with using their finger, a piece of dark paper, and the back of a fingernail. But that doesn't seem to work for all.
