Please HELP get Redmagic 5G NFC GPay fix: Takes 10m of time! - Nubia Red Magic 5G / 5S Guides, News, & Discussion

Guys - the easiest way to get development started on a new device is to NOTIFY the device manufacturer that there is a NEED for the company to fix issues. The first issue is THE BOOTLOADER UNLOCK METHOD BREAKS THE FINGERPRINT SENSOR. This is obviously highly undesirable for anyone who wants ROOT. *** NOTE THIS CAN BE AVOIDED ENTIRELY THROUGH THE ROOT BYPASS METHOD (FP STILL WORKS), AND A USER HAS FOUND HOW TO RECALIBRATE THE FP SENSOR AFTER A BL UNLOCK, XDA POS: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nu.../guide-calibration-finger-print-loss-t4132961
The main issue is Google Pay does NOT WORK with NA and Global ROMs. It reports 2 cards instead of 1 card when you go to a terminal, so you can NEVER make a payment!!!
So how can we fix this issue? COMPLAIN!!! We got source this way already (THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP GUYS WE DID IT!)
METHOD #1
EMAIL Nubia customer support (probably our best path) at [email protected]
You can simply report the issue similar to this message in your email:
Google Pay does not work with NFC which your Global and North American ROM claim to support. It reports 2 cards at the terminal instead of 1 card so payment fails EVERY time. This is an issue across the world for everyone with Google Pay. WE NEED THIS FIXED AS IT IS A LISTED FEATURE OF THE PHONE THAT DOES NOT WORK.
Please fix as soon as possible.

METHOD #2:

Post something like I did here - GOOGLE PAY DOES NOT WORK. FIX NFC ON GLOBAL AND NA VARIANT ROMS ASAP.
Please start posting comments here to release the source code so we can begin custom kernel and ROM development as soon as possible! Thank you everyone who contacted [email protected] or posted to the original GitHub issue, now we just need them to follow through!!! WE HAVE STRENGTH IN NUMBERS.

I have done as advised let's hope they fix this
Sent from my GM1913 using Tapatalk

I just did it too(both ways), but I don't know how much they care about the emails, I sent 3 before, for other things, without any reply

How much pay?

Guys! They do care about the device! I've emailed them three times, and I've got replies everytime!

ZTE released the source code for the Red Magic 5G... hopefully this will kick start development for this phone because it has so much potential.

Try asking about an older device that they dont produce/sell anymore. If they eager to answer they might care about devices that are older than 1 or 2 months

Well, the future updates are the only reason that hold me back from buying this phone! So I'll give it sometime to see what happens.. We will see..

Keep contacting guys..
Nevermind you closed the one with the new title ... Keeps this alive. Thanks Admins.... I don't see why closing this and opening another that resolves remaining ones is a problem. When I link it elsewhere it still looks like the original issue where we fixed or worked around 2 of them and now the last to address is GPay.

Also, the bootloader unlock on the Redmagic 5G disables the fingerprint sensor completely - the error message says to contact Nubia support. The device will not even allow a fingerprint to be added. The Android installation detects the sensor on the "back of the phone" i.e. missing the Goodix in-screen fingerprint location, so it can not be added. Later trying to add an FP results in an error:
Loss of fingerprint calibration data
Loss of fingerprint calibration data was detected.

Johnny can you explain the calibration steps for everyone with this issue? We've seen the factory calibration device that no one can find for sale anywhere. But some have managed with using their finger, a piece of dark paper, and the back of a fingernail. But that doesn't seem to work for all.

Anyways the code is *#9959# to start calibration off the TG group it works. Although what to do after launching it I have no idea.

Codes Secret Codes

The samsung galaxy s have a bunch of secret codes that you can dial in and it gives you access to hidden options and hidden menues, does HTC have any secret codes like this?
If so can someone make a list of all the codes and what functions they have.
thank you

All I know is *#06# but that's no secret. Codes went dead a long time ago. Only people I knew that messed with them was motorola and nokia. Now moto has its bootloader mode and nokia....well idk about them

Some of these may or may not work, but they're said to be universal in Android. Haven't tried them all on the Slide.
FYI These codes have been obtained by decoding various .apk files present in the phone firmware.
*#*#4636#*#*
This code can be used to get some interesting information about your phone and battery. It shows following 4 menus on screen:
Phone information
Battery information
Battery history
Usage statistics
*#*#7780#*#*
This code can be used for a factory data reset. It'll remove following things:
Google account settings stored in your phone
System and application data and settings
Downloaded applications
It'll NOT remove:
Current system software and bundled applications
SD card files e.g. photos, music files, etc.
PS: Once you give this code, you get a prompt screen asking you to click on "Reset phone" button. So you get a chance to cancel your operation.
*2767*3855#
Think before you give this code. This code is used for factory format. It'll remove all files and settings including the internal memory storage. It'll also reinstall the phone firmware.
PS: Once you give this code, there is no way to cancel the operation unless you remove the battery from the phone. So think twice before giving this code.
*#*#34971539#*#*
This code is used to get information about phone camera. It shows following 4 menus:
Update camera firmware in image (Don't try this option)
Update camera firmware in SD card
Get camera firmware version
Get firmware update count
WARNING: Never use the first option otherwise your phone camera will stop working and you'll need to take your phone to service center to reinstall camera firmware.
*#*#7594#*#*
This one is my favorite one. This code can be used to change the "End Call / Power" button action in your phone. Be default, if you long press the button, it shows a screen asking you to select any option from Silent mode, Airplane mode and Power off.
You can change this action using this code. You can enable direct power off on this button so you don't need to waste your time in selecting the option.
*#*#273283*255*663282*#*#*
This code opens a File copy screen where you can backup your media files e.g. Images, Sound, Video and Voice memo.
*#*#197328640#*#*
This code can be used to enter into Service mode. You can run various tests and change settings in the service mode.
WLAN, GPS and Bluetooth Test Codes:
*#*#232339#*#* OR *#*#526#*#* OR *#*#528#*#* - WLAN test (Use "Menu" button to start various tests)
*#*#232338#*#* - Shows WiFi MAC address
*#*#1472365#*#* - GPS test
*#*#1575#*#* - Another GPS test
*#*#232331#*#* - Bluetooth test
*#*#232337#*# - Shows Bluetooth device address
*#*#8255#*#*
This code can be used to launch GTalk Service Monitor.
Codes to get Firmware version information:
*#*#4986*2650468#*#* - PDA, Phone, H/W, RFCallDate
*#*#1234#*#* - PDA and Phone
*#*#1111#*#* - FTA SW Version
*#*#2222#*#* - FTA HW Version
*#*#44336#*#* - PDA, Phone, CSC, Build Time, Changelist number
Codes to launch various Factory Tests:
*#*#0283#*#* - Packet Loopback
*#*#0*#*#* - LCD test
*#*#0673#*#* OR *#*#0289#*#* - Melody test
*#*#0842#*#* - Device test (Vibration test and BackLight test)
*#*#2663#*#* - Touch screen version

Exactly. I cannot tell you all how many phones I have ruined playing with codes. It is just better to leave them alone all together.
Best possible thing that can happen is it requires the subsity (sp?) Lock code which can only be gotten from tmo with a crap load of questions

What are you talking about? The subsidy unlock is a SIM unlock. In other words, if you want to use an AT&T SIM in a Tmo phone, you need to get a subsidy unlock code. Also, subsidy unlock is easy to get. All you have to do is ask for it, have an account must be active for at least 45 days (might be 40 actually, I don't remember the exact number), and give them your email address. You will then get an email with the code and instructions within 24 hours. Wow, real crap load of questions to go through, sure...
Hussyfan said:
If you were alive or smart enough to remember the 90s tmo would not give you the subsity lock without asking you a bunch of questions because the only way you would need it was because you were probing around secret menues and got locked out of you phone (getting the master password wrong 3 times would result in a subsity lock and you could not access the phone at all). Sim unlocks back then were not subsity locks you twat so do some research.

BTW, I did do some research:

P.S. It's subsiDy, twat.

S7 Edge Stolen

Hello guys, yesterday my S7 edge was stolen and I was able to track the device till one location, but couldn't find the device or the robber once I got there. I had the SM-G935F international variant (Exynos) - stock and first question I would like to ask is: Is it possible to turn off the device from the lock screen without the pincode/fingerprint? Because I think it was not possible when I had it.
I'm just asking because once I have reached the location the google maps timeline, stopped recording the movement of my device.. and have stopped since there..
Around 3 hours later my girlfriend (I put her contact as security), received a message on her device saying the SIM card had been changed. I had the device with 4G (wifi I'm not sure) and the lock screen was secured. I tried using Samsung find my mobile and was even more useless than google maps timeline, because It couldn't locate the device even when google maps could.
I went to the police and they say that, they could locate (but It's going to take a while) the sim card that was put on that IMEI.
Do you guys know another way that could help me know some information sooner? At least something I could help the police with..
Hope you can help me in some way.
I'm in Czech Republic btw.
Best Regards,
Neto
damn man, I'm so sorry for u, f*cking crappy ppl...
the easiest way to track ur phone is to detect via SIM/IMEI, for that u have to know that new code that was inserted (not easy for us, but police should have), all other services (google, samsung, whatever) works just when de phone is on and have a network connection/GPS active (that cannot be turned off with the phone locked), sad is, the phone can be turned off w/o problem at any moment. Last updates with google apps, doesn't let u use your phone even giving a factory reset because u need to put the last google credentials used in that phone (but I don't know if u have to activate that in some settings, in my older phone it was on by default)....
sad is no much to do here, hope police in your country is more competent that mine's
I also advise going the police route.
File an official complaint and ask for a file number so you know it's official and the investigation will be active.
Keep us posted on how things go.
I've already talked with the police, gonna know if they can find them by the EMEI..
Wish tracking devices were made much more simple..
Brother's stolen phone (iD*ot 6S) was found by czech police within two days (in Prg), so finger's crossed for you! If you are from Prague I could ask him which office he went to.
Not sure there is anything you can do at this point, but I will recommend an app that I use called Where's My Droid. You can get the paid version (I would highly recommend paying the small one time fee for this) and it does quite a lot. You can track it online from a computer, and even through text messages. You can use text message commands to take pictures from the front and rear cameras, get GPS location, lock the sim and prevent others from being used, and even change your pin through text. You set up the keywords needed so that others cannot send out a generic code to lock you out of your own device. I would highly recommend that app for your next phone. It may not prevent a theft, but at least you could get a picture of the criminal and provide that to the police as well.
Good luck on finding your phone, and I feel for you.

wow. Wish I wouldn't have took a lot of measures in order to save battery and making the tracking of my device harder.. never again.. :crying:
Yeah, it's unfortunate, especially for a new phone that's not cheap.
One workaround I did when I broke my phone screen out of anger right after I upgraded was open a new line on my account so I only had to pay the upgrade price for the phone again. Not sure if you have that option for your carrier or even country for that matter. But hopefully the police can help you out greatly.
I'm sorry about what happened, my s7 edge was stolen too like 2 weeks ago, I feel you bro. ****ing thieves

Fingerprint reader stopped working and screenlock later

Hi,
my fingerprint reader stopped working (not recognizing finger) so i had to use pattern. A day later the security setup changed - even though the fingerpring & pattern was required, any button normaly turns on screen and vibrates as if I touched the reader. Fingerprint patterns are still present but I cannot add any as the reader doesn't recognize the finger.
I didn't do any system updates or changes. Running version 12.1-YOG4PAS3OH
Anybody with this issue?

There are multiple solutions in zuk forum which sometimes work(delete database, delete credentials) or not and then it's a hardware failure. It's all documented and can be easily find with Google or forum search.

Hardware issue with fp reader is very common. A friend of mine has also dead fp reader. My zuk has defective digitizer. As good as the hardware looks on paper, the quality is very bad compared to the device's sold.
same here it's a hw problem, i was on cos like you and after i went to cm13 (so much better btw) but still doesn't work. i'm waiting for the fingerprint replacement I ordered.

Fingerprint problems on X720

Hi all.
Recently I have bought a X720 device. I have tried to add a new fingerprint (EUI OS) and the system returns an error after a low vibration (not a crash, something like "you have to erase your fingerprint first" but there is no fingerprint added). I'm trying with LineageOS and it doesn't work neither (something like "fingerprint cannot be added, try again or use another finger").
What can I do?
I really apreciate any help.
1. Where did you buy the phone?
2. Did you take a video of yourself unboxing the phone and testing out the different features for warranty purposes? If you didn't, that was your first mistake if the fingerprint didn't work on Day 1.
3. This is probably a hardware issue that you should have gotten on camera the moment it occurred. If you bought your device from LeEco U.S., you might be covered under a warranty. Banggood/Geekbuying/AliExpress/etc? Good luck trying to get them to take back the phone....
Always always ALWAYS document issues with a phone you imported from overseas or Chinese phones. A lot of them are produced quickly with cheap components and no quality checking or assurances.
1. Banggood
2. No
3. Could be. Exactly, the message is "fingerprint can't be stored, please remove an existing fingerprint". Is there a location where the fingerprints are stored? In the configuration panel there is no option to erase any fingerprint.
Thanks anyway

Flash all the ROMs and factory images you can EXCEPT 26s (or whatever the x720 equivalent is) to see if the issue is prevalent across all ROMs. Also use sensor-detection apps to see if anything is detected and use logcat to dump your logs here.
It certainly sounds like a hardware issue to me. You should have contacted Banggood the moment the issue came up, instead of rooting the phone....

I need help accessing locked phone - 8 Pro

I have a OnePlus 8 Pro that i need to get in to. The phone is mine on my T-Mobile account, i bought it for my brother on his birthday.
2 days ago he committed suicide. No note No explanation nothing. He was the strongest person we all knew. Never showed any weakness.
Even his wife cant understand it. I need to be able to get into the phone. There has to be something in there that shed some light on WHY???
His wife, daughter and I NEED answers. I have a ton of experience rooting and modding phones but i don't know how to get past a lock screen without wiping the phone.
If anybody can help me out i would be forever grateful. I would even pay if that's necessary. I am in so much pain right now over this.

Sorry to hear this.
If the phones on Android 11 then theres no twrp so there no way to remove the passcode / pin as far as I'm aware.
Here's a guide explaining how to remove a passcode. However I think with an encrypted phone you won't be able to access files even via twrp.
https://forum-xda--developers-com.c...e-hacking/remove-lockscreen-recovery-t3530008
Data recovery companies may be able to help if it's really needed.
Don't advise them as to what's happened just the phone is yours and your brother was using it, don't tell them how important it is or the price may just go up.

As it's Android it'll be possible. But difficult without the right kit..
I'd clarify what the detective wants to see on the device and can you be present for the unlock.

Any luck with it?
As insensitive as this sounds, I am a homicide detective. If he had a fingerprint lock on the phone, you could use his physical fingerprint from his hand prior to burial to unlock the phone. We have used this method several times with success.
Regardless, my condolences to you and yours.

Yeah i was hoping to be able to do just this but since the family members are not very etch savvy, they power cycled the phone off and because of that the first unlock into the system has to be with the numeric password.
I rebuilt his laptop for him a couple months ago so i have the password to get into it. I'm hoping that he saved his email credentials in it. I know that after multiple attempts into android it allows you to change password through the email. This is the last thing i can think to do.
I reached out to OnePlus this morning and the woman who was answering my questions said she had no answers for me. she kept saying i could factory reset it through recovery mode. I already know that, i need the info on it. I'm thinking about reaching out to google also. Who knows they might help since the phone is in my name on my account.

Not yet. I had an appointment to day with the funeral home to get access to his body so we could use his fingerprint but the phone was turned off since his last login.
It now required the numeric password before logging in. I have one shot left that i can think of. If i can gain access to his email i might be able to reset the password that way.
Fingers crossed. It was so hard yesterday going to the funeral home. We all need answers

I saw that. unfortunately i don't have his email credentials for his Find My Device.
Also the sm card was removed my his wife before she gave it back to me unfortunately.
Although it does connect to my Wifi at home... I'm almost to the point of giving up.
I don't think we will ever know why he did what he did.
Thank you to everyone that jumped on this thread. I love this community.
I kinda don't buy the OP story but here is my take:
- Doesn't need a SIM to get/use Find my device working but does require Google account access which is recoverable easily.
- It's trivially easy to recover a Google account with the phone number of the deceased unless the person specifically removed those options and used for instance an authenticator app (of if you don't have the actual SIM or access to that phone number but that would be strange).
- If you cannot recover the account that way, you can still recover it using a legal path by providing the correct inheritance documents to Google (through a lawyer if required) which should pose no issue (again this should pose no issue and while it would take time, it would work).
- Whatsapp cloud backup (on Google drive) is enabled by default and if you're after that, it's probably gonna be trivially easy to restore said backups on any new phone by using the SIM card of the deceased. Unless the person specifically disabled this to prevent this.
You can most likely recover Whatsapp messages without even unlocking the phone. This whole process is actually not hard and requires no tech help and can be done through the legal processes.
Added to all this, I checked your history and saw that you requested help before unlocking a Pixel phone that magically came into your possession before. So it seems you have a pattern of coming into possession of locked phones that makes me very suspicious of your demand.
I'll report this thread and ask a mod to review it.
Sorry. I also have doubts any time I see a story here asking for help unlocking a phone. Always sounds suspicious, and furthermore where are the mods here? Aren't there rules that state no requests for help unlocking phones??
Here is the OPs other post:
" Junior Member11 postsThanks: 2
I have a 64gb Pixel 4 XL that i want to unlock and use on T-Mobile.
The phone was never actually on a Sprint account. It was never technically paid off by a consumer. Its also never been activated on the sprint network to my understanding. (Which are all required to have sprint send an unlock code)
It was given to me by a Sprint store manager when they had to clean out end of year inventory.
I'm trying to figure out if i can unlock it somehow without having to get sprint to send the unlock code.
I don't really want to go through the hassle of explaining to them how i got a hold of it when they look at it in the system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated"
@San Diego The moderators are here and monitoring the thread since it has been created. And these are the XDA Forum Rules to cross-check.
To ask for assistance is not against the rules, and if you read back in the thread quite a few legal possibilities have been given. They obviously didn't delivered the desired result. However, as soon as the discussion or advices deviate towards the obscure side or to paid unlock services this would be removed immediately.
If you check the thread, from which you quoted, you'll see that moderators were acive in it, too.
Stay safe and stay healthy!
