Finger print scanner... - LeEco Le Max 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi, my wife's Lemax 2 finger print scanner works fine (rose gold 4GB/32GB) mine (grey 6GB/64GB) is totally useless! I'm going to try and change it, found this video (sadly in Portuguese) on how to change it, which also has a link to buy them for less than $7!
I ordered one yesterday, they've shipped it today. Need to work on my bravery now
Pete

You may need a new screen too. It looks extremely difficult to remove it without damage. Can you share the link to the video you mentioned?

Did you try some of the "fixes" before you go to those lengths? Different firmware, ROM, battery drain.....
Is it completely dead, or just slow?

Tried them all, it has never worked from taking it out of the box. Even the calibration doesn't detect anything. Running Slim7, still dead, tried the modem flash... DEAD!

Heyyo, eh a screen replacement isn't that hard tbh... Just have to heat up the phone enough for the glue to get soft.
Yeah if the modem firmware doesn't resolve it when flashed via TWRP then it would be a hardware issue.
Last ditch attempt to try and solve it via software would be to try and flash back to stock EUI ROM via fastboot. There's a guide for doing so in the guides section by greenManGaming if you wish to try it

My Lemax2 fingerprint scanner behaves strange.. it gets unlocked with the finger that is/was never saved.. help me...

the LeEco FingerPrint sensor sucks.....otherwise it is a great phone

TC,
What's wrong with your camera? Is it physically broken? I doubt you'd have to donate just to get help. Just post your problem.
Cheers.
I did post my problem. I got a few people who say they have the same problem but no one has a fix. I just cant get the program to initialize

I noticed your using MIRI ROM 6.5 Manila 2.5
Have you tried another ROM?
Or go back to 6.5 2.1 see if camera still has probs
Manila 2.5 does have known bugs and is not perfect yet
Worth atry then you will know if its the camera or ROM
the problem started with duttys wm6.1 rom with manila 2.1, I also tried a few wm 6.5 roms with manila 2.1
Have you tried to flash an Official ROM? Or install a new camera cab?
D'rath
yes I have tried to do both of those. I even tried the stock blackstone camera

You said that the camera gives you an error message that says "Failed to initialize..... etc..."? Did it have anything in there about a certificate error or component missing error?
I know this may be a long shot but have you ever dropped the phone or gotten it wet? If so then you may have jarred something inside the phone or fried an essential circuit for the camera to function.
I would suggest flashing a stock ROM including radio and see if that helps at all.
I have never had a problem with my HD's camera short of it being really laggy under poor lighting conditions. I'll keep a lookout for a fix for this.

I am not the 1st owner but it shows no sign of watter damage. It did get set down next to a tool magnet once. I have never dropped it.
I did take it all the way back to a stock SPL and the newest stock rom, didn't help. I have had to diferent people tell me they have the same issue and once more I found who posted before me about the same issue. He had a fix but it didnt work for me.
Last night I did a full tear down and see no damage to any of the parts but that doesnt say much

That is really weird... I've personally never had a "Failed to initialize" error before. Usually it is just a certificate error that I get after I screw up a ROM build and it's never related to the camera.
Since you already restored the stock SPL and the whole 9 yards, I strongly suggest contacting HTC's repair department and see if they have any advice or can repair the device for a fee. I have a good friend who dropped his Touch HD in a glass of milk and the phone worked fine afterwards but he was unable to use the actual Touch Screen as the Digitizer was toast. He sent it in to HTC to have it repaired and if I remember correctly, received it back yesterday, like new.
Good luck to you man, hope you can get it figured out or are able to have the device fixed if it turns out to be a physical problem and not software related.
Best of luck,
Dan.
really? even though it is an HD in USA? Did he call the HTC in the US?

Nexus 4 Not Recognizing Touch Input (VIDEO)

So I got some bad news
There is an area on my Nexus 4 that receives no touch input. Either that, or it is extremely inconsistent. This is the section right about where the bottom row of icons are located, directly above the on-screen navigation buttons.
I tried installing this "fix" for touch sensitivity, but it did not fix the specific problem I am having. And I noticed this problem before I tried that fix, so it was not a result of that.
I am about to try a full system reset to see if that helps. Hopefully it will. I will post back if it does.
If I have to send it back to Google, what process would I need to go through to make sure they don't know I rooted? Just unroot? Or would I also have to lock the bootloader as well? And would a full system reset do all of that? Or do I need to go back and use the toolkit?
Here is a video I just shot showing the problem:
EDIT: And unfortunately a full reset just made it worse

very interesting......
I would definitely RMA that. It's clearly an issue. I just ran the same touch tests you did in the video and have none of those same problems. The screen recognizes my touch even at the very bottom of the screen where the nav bar starts.
As for unrooting/re-lockingt he bootloader, just use Wug's toolkit:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015469
This worked flawlessly for me to unroot and re-lock the bootloader of my first N4 before sending it back to them. The toolkit is very straight forward.
I tried using the Nexus 4 toolkit to restore to a factory image, but I am getting an error every time it tries to download it
EDIT: I am about to try that other toolkit posted above ^^^

Just make sure you follow the step by step guide for installing the proper drivers and uninstalling rogue ones before trying to unroot/lock the bootloader. It is super easy just make sure you read all the instructions and follow them to a T. After doing that the toolkit will work perfectly for you moving forward. Even with your next N4. I used it again today to root my replacement N4.
I encountered a MAJOR problem!
I did the flash stock + unroot part and that worked fine. But I am completely stuck on the last part.
Now I need to lock the bootloader again. In order to do that, I have to have USB debugging turn on. The problem is that in order to turn it on, I have to get into the phone. But I am stuck on the initial phone setup! The only way to move past the stage I am stuck on is to click an arrow, but the arrow is in the dead zone and the dead zone just got worse! I can't move on!
Anybody have any advice? I am totally stuck.
EDIT: Got it! At that stage I put the phone in landscape to avoid the dead area. Then the Android tutorial came out and I couldn't get out of it to go to settings and enable USB debugging mode. So I went to the lockscreen, after 20 tries got Google now pulled up, and was able to type in settings to open it up and enable USB debugging mode. Finally got the bootloader locked. Should I be good to send it back to Google now?
Please repeat this bug while holding the phone in your hand, a video would be nice.

I hava the same issue
I have same issue in the same area of display, but my is sporadic, it's not present all the time. It comes and goes. I removed front protector, issue was still present. Then I removed back protector and did a factory reset, and now it's gone for 5 days. It's bought in Canada, and I'm from Serbia so it's a little tricky for me to send it for RMA because now I am not sure if the issue is realy hardware type. I run it in safe mode and it behave same.
Sometimes if goes totaly crazy with tens of simoultanous touches around non working stripe. Lock unlock and it's gone.
Tafak?!?? Don't know what to do...

[Q] [D802] Touch Screen uncalibrated after flashing

I've looked everywhere but haven't found a proper solution. I have an international D802 which after a lot of effort I was able to flash to KK but the touchscreen no longer functions properly - eg pressing one area would register one or more touches in anther area making it impossible to use the phone. If anyone has any idea to fix this please let me know. I have tried various roms including going back to a JB rom and the problem persists.
Thank you.

Anything worked for you?
I think we have following options:
1. Use mouse via USB otg to get to debugging mode to turn on adb than flash recovery and rom
2. Use mouse via USB otg to update the touchscreen driver via the hidden menu
3. Warranty
Can you get your device in adb mode?
Just managed to install recovery using autorec and lots of patience however touchscreen issues persist even in recovery (the touches are not accurate in recovery) so i think i will need to flash kernel as i think thats where the touchscreen drivers are.
Managed to flash CloudyG3. Still no good. The thing is that the touch is broken in CWM which means that its not the ROM, it's something else. I don't really understand the technical aspects but flashing Cloudy also flashes the kernel. Almost given up on this, too much time sunk.

I am trying to go to the hidden menu and its not working at all .. So I will just have the touch replaced
I am not entirely convinced its the screen to be honest. I feel like replacing the screen does nothing about the software which control its behaviour. Just my 2c - if you want to go ahead with it perhaps get them to take responsibility - e.g., I replace the screen on your advice and if it doesn't fix the problem I shouldn't have to pay for the screen otherwise you might be throwing your money at a problem which we dont necessarily know the cause of.
Edit: Get a lgd panel not a jdi.

Rotation sensor broken after 4.5.13 update

my oneplus 5 was working fine before 4.5.13 ota update after that my phone doesnt rotate to left and gets inverted.I tried flashing other roms and hard reset but no luck. There are more users having problem after this update, any solution?
Pass the stock rom by adb sideload
Set the device to fastboot mode and connect the USB cable. Then type:
adb sideload rom.zip
For more information go to oneplus website.

Yesterday I went to OnePlus service center, they're asking me to pay 2900 INR for the sensor.
I've denied to pay and they rejected my devise by mentioning it as a physical damage
I bought my phone a few days back and noticed same funny behavior with compass (if not mistaken works with rotation sensor also). I gripped my phone firmly so my phone can't fly off from my hand, after that I gave it several sharp and sudden turns on both ends of 3 axis of rotation (X,Y,Z) my problem was solved. You can try it at your own peril. If you have positive results, let me know.
I had this too. Now I'll stay on OOS 4.10 after gettig it repaired for free.

ok, I started the whole root procedure again and it worked! besides, I finally access the factory mod! ?. Your tutorials are great and it helped me a lot. I just have to succeed in calibrating my fingerprint which no longer works since I changed my screen. In China they sent me the calibration procedure but it failed at the last step. I dig the problem
Thanks

Lovely.
Well done. Good luck with your fingerprint.
It'd be really useful information if you documented what you actually do with your fingerprint calibration as it may help others who the up in the same position.
Plus you'll structure your process much better if you're logging what you're doing.
Might help.

Afaik there is no other solution than recalibrate your fingerprint sensor. And this can be done at oneplus service center. I havent heard that anyone succesfully have done that them selves. Screen replacement makes previous persist.img useless as they seem to be tied together. I had my screen replaced twice (green tints etc) and they had to use their own tools to make fp work again
hmm I understand. nobody succeeded in doing the calibration. however, this does not seem impractical. I am working on the problem right now with our Chinese friends. They manage to carry out this calibration ?. I will send my oneplus to oneplus after trying everything ∆∆
