My display turned out to be a Tianma, and as usual, it's ghosting. I wanna use Xiaomi's warranty, because they give 1 year of it, only problem, I bought it from a 3rd party that only offers 3 months. It is a global version, and I don't know what to do!
Please help!

Calibrate display colour (live display). Set everything down to about 90%. Worked in my device.

Hi all, i've got the Note a couple of weeks ago, but two-three days ago i noticed that white pages (for example) are not brilliant, and more similar to "milk cream" colour.
It happens with energy saving options on or off, if i look at screen from slightly upper or lower side it's perfect, but if i'm perfectly in forn of it i get this issue.
Do you know any app to calibrate gamm/white point (supercurio's tuning app isn't compatible yet)?
I don't think i can get any warranty service for this, due to displays' "loose" compliance requirements
Mine too, but at times it's more yellowish, other times less. My inlaw's Note is whiter. Dunno the reason why.

Mine seems slightly greenish. It isn't bad but it isn't a "perfect" grayscale.
There really needs to be an app somewhere where you can tweak RGB values to properly calibrate the screen like you could do in a service menu on an old CRT TV.
OLED is similar to CRT in that it emits light, and no two are exactly the same. They need to be calibrated.
Manufacturers need to get it into their head (yes you Sammy) that OLEDs aren't LCDs and should not be treated the same as they do now. They ALL should have calibration menus somewhere.
Mine got better in the last two days...it gets more yellowish sometimes, but I think it's some auto brightness little bug...no more concerned about that
The video speaks for itself. The phone is a Verizon LG G2 on a replacement screen of what I thought was OEM quality after dropping my phone on it's corner (digitizer went). I went for a white b/c why not change the color while you can! The screen was installed in December and running absolutely perfect until today.
eBay link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171165308218 I've contacted them about it but of course who knows if they will replace it. Just wanted people to be aware of the situation. Not sure why the screen would work perfectly for a few months then just die...
Hi please i have a a5 2016 and i noticed few days ago a pixel turned to green . It is a dead pixel ? How i can fix it please reply im worried . It is rare in AMOLED screens ? Thanks
Hi! ..got the same problem, however I can see not only our pixels are dead, also thread stuck in spot..
Phone is new, after two months, in the center of the screen appeared one bright point. I don't know is it dead, hot, or stuck pixel.. It's green and max-bright. Especially annoying at night, while watching/reading with dimmed screen../
Any of repair apps (flashing/snowing) wont work, Odin also - maybe there is some framework, that could at least turn it off (or sth..)???
Did anyone else had that stubborn pixel on this ultra FHD 5,2" 1080/480dpi AMOLED screen?? Anyone can help??
- Did You managed with your green dot??
- Does one bad pixel qualify device to service repair?
Unfortunately you have to replace display. Both of you guys...
Guys, you have warranty if you haven't done any modifications to your phones. In this case, take your phones to your carriers or Samsung Stores and they'll repair/replace them without any question.
I have a 5 months old G5 plus and I frequently notice that the screen starts flickering whenever the phone is in low-medium brightness.
It gets fixed if I increase the brightness but again after sometime, as the brightness changes with lighting conditions, same issue occurs again.
Anyone else noticing same problem? I'm guessing this is a common problem with Moto G5 Plus
Thanks

I didn't exprence any such problems. It seems your screen is not working properly, take a replacement by going to Motorola service centre as it was only 5 months older.
AFAIK the display does use pulse-width modulation to dim the screen (quickly switching it off and on), but at such high frequencies that it shouldn't be visible at all. Even using a custom kernel to lower the brightness to nearly zero I can't spot any flickering. As riyan said it's likely malfunctioning.

Yes this is a problem with many G5+, for me it mostly happens when I use my phone during charging (which is a very bad practice). I face the issue once in a month or so.

If the device is having warranty, then give it to service centre as they will replace a screen at free of cost, before the warranty get expired and screen get screwed, I suggest you to do a screen replacement under warranty. If warranty is expired then wait until the screen just get screwed and buy a new screen or buy a new device.
Yesterday i noticed this, it's a very subtle flick but it does happen..
I bought this phone about 4 months ago and now i am facing severe display burn in. As far i know, LCD display doesn't have burn in issue. If i use any app for only 5 minutes, it will be visible from other apps, specially the white colors. Any solution for this? I heard amoled display has burn in problem, not LC ones.
Burn-in is permanent, and cannot happen on LCDs
I would advise you to take it to a service center and get it repaired under warranty
As has been said, burn in is permanent.
In this case it's image retention, I think.
LCD TVs are affected depending on whether they are VA or IPS so there is no reason that smartphones are spared.
