So, after updating to A10 (yes I know I am stupid) two weeks ago, my phone is almost useless - the GPS location on maps is way off, not accurate at all, it locks to real location only when I'm driving for 5-10 mins. I'm using my OnePlus 6T for work, so I'm driving everyday and this phone is just driving me crazy.
I tried everything, from cash cleaning, phone reset to downgrading phone to 9.0.17. GPS is still acting like crazy, and phone is became useless for me as work device.
My question - is there is anything that can be done from my side?
The ****ing Oneplus support offered me phone downgrade, which I already did, and then they suggested me to make repair request from oneplus website and sent this piece of **** phone to them for inspection and repair.
I rather just get a brand new iPhone instead, cant be without smartphone anyway. Who knew this day will come lol.

My phone is just messed up. Every time I get a call or make a call, the phone will just be completely become unresponsive after the call. The screen is completely black, I have to turn off the phone and turn it back on. The phone somtimes turns off on its own (started about a month ago). I have no idea why this phone is reported to have so many issues without any recognition from my service provider, Bell. Every time I talk to their data support they say the phone has been flawless and have no reports of any issues. This phone has such potential to be amazing as long as it just works. I didn't have any real serious lag. The little lag I did have was tolerable. But the phone turning off and becoming unresponsive is of course unacceptable. I can't find my reciept, I bought it at Best Buy. So until I find it, I can't take it to Bell for warranty.
I am running the newest firmware, the phone is completely stock, haven't done anything to it. There has been no applications installed. Had the phone since Aug.24/10.

This sounds like the infamous coma syndromevfound on our i9000m bell SGS models.
My phone just started doing this randomly 60 days after owning it.
There is a thread here all about it. Search the fourms with the keyword comatose and you will find it.
Bell HAS aknowledged this issue and there is a master ticket open fir it. They say they are working with Samsung to resolve the issue. My post in the other thread lists the master ticket number.

I've had the phone for a few months, only used it for 2 weeks then put it back in the box with plans to resell it. Dad needed a new phone for his job so i decided to give it to him and every day for the past week ive gotten at least one phone call from him with problems. He is extremely new to smart phones but I never had a single issue with this phone prior to giving it to him. For some reason he will receive text messages or voice mail and sees the notification icons up on the notification bar but when he goes to pull the bar down it does nothing. The only way to resolve this issue is to restart the phone then all of a sudden the pull-down starts to function as it should. The phone is completely stock out the box i didn't feel the need to touch anything or have to root it for any reason.
He had to go to AT&T to get a sim card for it and the people there basically wanted to run him out of the store and not even touch the phone because they do not sell it so not a single person wanted to even help him out even though he just dropped more money into their pockets by upgrading his plan to a smart phone plan. before i gave him the phone all i did was a factory reset to wipe out any of my data on the phone so it was clean and like new for him.
Im at a loss because the whole time i used the phone i had no issues and since the day he got it he has had nothing but problems. I chalked this up to user error but its not because when he gave it to me to see if i could figure out why things were acting weird the only thing i could think to do was restart the phone. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this may be happening and/or how to go about fixing it and not making him regret ever having to get a smart phone much less this N4?
New paragraph!
What messaging apps are you using? You could always download the toolkit and flash the stock factory image again.
I would try another factory reset just to make sure things didn't go haywire during the reset you already did. I have had a bad reset with a phone before.

yeah im gonna have to get with my dad and fool with the phone more. Its hard to troubleshoot something when he lives 45mins away and calls me with problems while im at work.
ONCE AGAIN the whole phone is stock so that would lead me to believe that the stock messaging app is being used. I will talk him through doing a reset again and see how that works out for him. From what he told me the only app hes even installed outside of everything that comes on the phone was Map Quest, which i told him he shouldn't need because Google Maps is already loaded on. So first im going to have him uninstall that from the phone as well as from his downloaded apps list in the play store and see if that changes anything.
Hi guys,
I checked the existing topics, and most of the people complain about GPS on CM based ROMs.
However, I have stock ROM, did not root it, or done any changes to the system. I have stock KK.
When I bought the phone 3 months ago I would get GPS lock very fast. Then some month ago I started noticing that I would lose GPS signal quite often, and in the last couple of days I cannot get GPS lock at all. I remove the case, and hold it near window, and while Samsung phone gets lock in less than a minute and navigates well, LG G2 just stays on the "waiting for GPS".
Is there some app that I can use (I already have GPS satus which doesn't help), and some of the solutions offered require flashing the zip which I cannot do since I didn't root and install CWM.
Will the factory reset help, as it's the last resort I wouldn't want to use unless really no option.
Thank you for your help.
Cheers,
Its a know issue with most lg g2. You can remove the back case and do the paper trick on the GPS plugs.... Worked for me!! Just YouTube it.

I just did a format (had to backup everything from the phone as it erases the internal memory) and no help.
After booting it and installing GPS status, after 5 minutes, it doesn't catch any satellites, only shows the 0/21 and this number goes even down to 13, and every time the screen locks, the little satellite icon gets X, and then it starts searching again.
It is such a rubish if I have to do it, especially since the back cover is not removable. I'll take it to the store I bought it in, I'll see if they can do anything.

a lot of people have this issue, i'm one of them... didn't work for me to use the back cover solution
This morning I was out and it started locking on satellites, it had 4 out of 7, and then suddenly they all disappeared, and could not catch any again. This is such a piece of s*** from LG, how can they make such mistakes, so I pay 300 EUR for a phone and then have a brick which will leave me stranded in a foreign country where I don't know the roads.
I tried the pinching trick and it gets the lock quite fast when I am holding the upper right corner. But unfortunately when I let it go, the signal gets lost soon.
I just hope they will replace it in the store I bought it in, or somehow fix it. I don't want to open it myself and lose warranty.
So, I came back to Europe from Far East and my GPS works great, when I am outdoors, it gets lock in 20 seconds, but if I am indoors, even next to a huge window, it doesn't show any satellites, or after couple of minutes it shows only the Russian ones (AndroiTS GPS Test) and doesn't get lock on them.
I don't know how it'll work when I go back to Asia, but this is annoying.
I went to the store, and they told me, if it works outdoors, the service center will return it and say it works.... to bad we don't have official LG stores here to replace it more easily.
So I was doing cardio at the gym with my rooted verizon s5 in my pocket. It was only for about 30 minutes and I checked my phone before I started. Once I finished, I checked my phone, only to see the set-up menu asking me what language I wanted, gmail account, etc. I have a lock screen on my phone, so I don't see how it could have pressed the right buttons to reset in my pocket even of the phone was turned on somehow. I had quite a few hours customizing it, so I'm pretty pissed. I did do a back-up and according to root checker I still have root access, so I guess I'll just do that even though the back-up is like a month old. I'm just wondering what the hell happened, and more importantly, how I prevent it in the future. I was getting constant requests for updates and security reports, but always dismissed them because I was told that was normal. Thanks in advance and let me know if you need anymore info.

Did you have the bottom check box in this Settings screen checked?

I restarted mine the other day pulling it out of my pocket. I thought that was odd...
Samsung pocket reset explained. ****ED ME OVER
So about 3 months ago i was playing ultimate Frisbee on a school trip with some friends with my S5 in my pocket. After about 30 minutes of play i heard my phone making a strange noise. I pulled it out and realized i was operating in Chinese on a screen that was seemingly a setup screen. All my phone data had been lost due to a factory reset. I was pissed but it wasn't that big of a deal because i had gotten the phone a week earlier. So I reinstalled the few apps I had, re downloaded my contacts, and didn't look into to it much. But today, four months later, I was doing the same exact thing, playing ultimate Frisbee with some friends, and it happened again. But this time I had a 32 GB SD card in that was nearly full of important pictures, videos, files, folders, documents and schoolwork. What I now know is those retards at Samsung made it so the phone thinks the SD card is part of the phone AND IT PERMANENTLY FORMATTED IT. I was am and still livid that those ****tards have no way to fix this problem what so ever. The phone has a defense mechanism that resets the phone after too many incorrect password attempts and the phone against my leg in my pocket did the ****ing trick! Me - "So there is no way to recover the data?" Dumb Samsung ****head - "No its a permanent reset that protects the phone from intruders". How Stupid do you have to be to create something like that, that can be triggered by so many other means than an intruder, AND HAVE NO WAY TO FIX IT. I am now ****ED by Samsung and never purchasing a phone from them again. DON'T BUY SAMSUNG THEY ARE ****. And don't buy Apple either because they are WORSE. Hopefully this helps someone hate Samsung a little more because I'm SCREWED.

I have GPS issues TERRIBLY.
Sometimes my GPS works amazing, directly on point, timing perfect, never off.
Other times a whole trip and Goggle maps can't find me.
Have tried every kernel, ROM, fully wiping, through TWRP, fastboot, going back to stock, every beta from OP,
Not sure what else I can try besides sending it back to them.
yes i have the same
sometimes a reboot fix it
sometimes not
sometimes even the positon of the smartphone in my car changes the gps reception
i had the same issue at my op3, where disabling LTE solved it, but seems to not work in OP5
I was fine with GPS on OxygenOS, even when rooted but after switching to Resurrection Remix on Oreo 8.1 I now have the same issue, where my GPS is really intermittent. Both Google Maps and Waze can't find my GPS when i load them and after a while they start freaking out and eventually find my GPS after around 5-10 mins.
They want me to send it back, but I don't have another phone, and can't shell out money for another one, If I could do that I would be done with OP, their customer service has been ABYSMAL through any problem I had. I have told anyone talking about getting this phone, or the op5t or 6, that it is worth it to pay slightly more for an actual place to take your phone back if it is defective.
They originally wanted to tunnel into my computer, and blank out the screen to work on it from wherever they're tech guys work from. I couldn't believe it.
Hello!
Did someone find a solution for this?
I'm having the same issue. I received this phone as an Assurant replacement to a 3t. Got the phone mid-March and the GPS has never worked.
