P8 lite (ale-l21) rollback error - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It'd be great if someone could help me with the following issue: my P8 lite is on firmware B896 and if I force-install the transition package, I put into the dload folder and named UPDATE.APP, I get an error during the installation. Please tell me how to do the rollback and install the stock firmware, I don't know how to do it in ADB.
Thanks

You must EXTRACT from update.zip the UPDATE.APP, not rename it!
.

can you give me the link for the proper update.zip pls?

Blocked downgrade (or upgrade) in Huawei P8 Lite Dual

Hi! I tried to downgrade my P8 Lite (DUAL) from ALE-L21C432B574 firmware (West European), Android 6.0 and emui 4.0, to Android 5.1, emui 3.1.
The downgrade failed and after restart, the device have emui 4, android 6.0 but firmware ALE-L21C432B132 that, normally, is for android 5 and emui 3.1. Now, as result (I think this is the reason), I cant to update neither downgrade, in any way my device: I'm stuck in this situation ...
Any idea about how can I do to solve?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
No one can help??? I'm desperate :crying::crying::crying:

From stock recovery wipe data factory reset and wipe cache(this will delete all data from phone,so make a backup before),putt phone in fastboot/rescue mod an flash again b132,reboot phone, now use this vendor (extract and rename folder to dload, copy to memory phone and make local update),when is done, use this ota update (extract, and putt update.zip in folder dload and make local update),now your phone should have build number Ale-L21C432B170,and for android 6.0 just make a local update with this

Many thanks for your guide! I will apply your advices and will report the result.
Also, I would like to ask something that makes me worry a little, why the Nandroid restore has not restored everything exactly as before?

At this point, what B132 I have to flash? I have this: ALE-L21 C432B132 Europe channel Dual but inside is the update.app (in dload folder). I presume that you mean a zip file, maybe a OTA?

You must extract from update.app using huawei update extractor and extract files:boot, recovery, cust and systems then flash by using fastboot commands

Updating stock emui ROM on a rooted P9 lite

Hello everybody,I have a question :
My P9 Lite (VNS-L31 C432B380)is asking me for B388 update.
I rooted my phone using OldDroid's TWRP 3.1.1-1,and official TWRP.
I know i need the stock recovery to be able to install update from settings. So,i googled a bit,and impossible to find the B380 firmware (my Idea was to extract the recovery from it using Huawei extractor). Then i remembered Firmware finder, and I looked for the B380 inside the App.There I see 2 entries for B380,OTA-MF (290MB) and FULL-OTA-MF (1,6GB).
From which one Can i extract the stock recovery safely with Huawei extractor ?
Thanks in advance !
P.S : if there's others ways to update than unrooting, reflashing stock recovery, installing update and then reroot, please tell me !

The way I did it is by downloading the FULL update (it's 2go) an update extractor(found in this forum) extracting the recovery from the update app... Flashing it using adb... Updating normally (make a save of the 2go update and remember the directory just in case to avoid having to dl it again) the reflash twrp and root!!
Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L31 using Tapatalk
The biggest package I can found on FF is 1.601GB where did you find your 2Go one ?
EDIT : downloading the fullOTA-mf package gave me a 2.51GB update.app file. update extractor sees recovery.img and recovery2.img,which one do I have to take ?

Hello man,
did you removed prevoius update.app from SD card, the one from rollback??
Maybe you forgot to do this...
If you sure you done all things right then take a look at the UNIFIED HELP THREAD...
At 6th post you'll find a L31 rollback package that will give you C900B300 global firmware.
From this flash C636B170 full ota and see if worked this time....

Hello dude,
in the guide i never readed to use the toolkit, that's another way i think...
Flashing the rollback package will bring you c900b300 firmware wich means global intermediate transitive firmware...
Create a dload folder in SD card, extract update.app from rollback package and put in it.
Turn off you phone. Now disconnect from PC, and let it start keeping vol+ vol- and power buttons.
When it ends turn it off and remove the SD card and the update.app from dload folder.
Download and extract update.app from L31C636B170 full update.
If you missed it...
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1164/g104/v66846/f1/full/update.zip
Put this in dload folder in SD card again and put in your phone...
Repeat vol+ vol- power buttons and it will flash...
Recommended: when finished reboot to e_recovery (vol+ power buttons) and factory reset.
If all gone well you will stay now on marshmallow firmware..
Wish you the best my friend...:fingers-crossed:
Edit: flash the rollpack package suggested in prevoius post.
All credits goes to @dariomrk and other contributors that create the thread.
Thank you guys.

P9 lite vns-l31 update from b 360 to b392 help needed

I have already unlocked and rooted my vns-l31, installed c185b360 also installed revolution recovery
I received an OTA update through system update B392
I downloaded it through system update
It's 3 zip files in Hwouc folder in sd card:
Update.zip
Update_data_full_public.zip
Update_full_vns-l31_hw_meafnaf.zip
What should I do?
It enters revolution recovery and it doesn't install the image and returns error
Should I try 3button method? And how to flash all the 3 zip files
Help me please
Thanks
Hello @thefarhad,
sorry if i write this but "it seems" you already know what you should do,
also it does not seem possible that update has arrived that way,
i mean official updates automatically installs..
It seems instead that you have downloaded it with Firmware Finder (full OTA-MF), isn't it ?
(If i'm wrong please just not consider this post...)
Now try to follow guide "how to update" you find here on XDA.. (use search, there is more than one).
My little suggestion: proceed by little steps like installing B380 first, then check if official one arrive, if not install B392 with FF.
P.S.: Read threads more than one time before doing anything, just in case something could escape you... only a friendly suggestion..
Regards
