I have already unlocked and rooted my vns-l31, installed c185b360 also installed revolution recovery
I received an OTA update through system update B392
I downloaded it through system update
It's 3 zip files in Hwouc folder in sd card:
Update.zip
Update_data_full_public.zip
Update_full_vns-l31_hw_meafnaf.zip
What should I do?
It enters revolution recovery and it doesn't install the image and returns error
Should I try 3button method? And how to flash all the 3 zip files
Help me please
Thanks
Hello @thefarhad,
sorry if i write this but "it seems" you already know what you should do,
also it does not seem possible that update has arrived that way,
i mean official updates automatically installs..
It seems instead that you have downloaded it with Firmware Finder (full OTA-MF), isn't it ?
(If i'm wrong please just not consider this post...)
Now try to follow guide "how to update" you find here on XDA.. (use search, there is more than one).
My little suggestion: proceed by little steps like installing B380 first, then check if official one arrive, if not install B392 with FF.
P.S.: Read threads more than one time before doing anything, just in case something could escape you... only a friendly suggestion..
Regards

Yes, I did.. :good:
Updated and rooted!
Thanks, this method really works! http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-install-twrp-root-systemless-t3325161.. I come from the ROM fRomFuture release KW45; really this update was a hard process in the first tries, then I want to share the details because the tools in various posts of P8 really did the miracle (he he):
1. First, I did flash the boot.img and the recovery.img from the release B200, more exactly from the ROM “GRA-L09_C432B200_Firmware_CEE&Nordic European Region_Android 5.0_EMUI 3.1”, of course, with the “Huawei Update Extractor tool”
2. I put the update.app of the B200 release in the dload folder in my external sd card, then I rebooted the device with the 3 buttons pressed (or best, firstly I have powered off this then I reset it with the 3 buttons pressed)
3. My GRA-L09 took quickly the update.app and finally this made the update, with a little message of error at the end, I don´t remember, at the 85%?, but this rebooted with a fresh installation of Marshmallow..
I update it with the ROM “Huawei_P8_Firmware_GRA-L09_Android 6.0_EMUI4.0_C432B321a_Bulgaria”, this detail in the attachments that the versions reliable for update are, the B200, B313 and B317
Finally, for the question of this topic, the only version of TWRP working for this release of android is the new_twrp.img in the forum linked at the first. I've tested others as the twrp-2.8.7.0-p8.img without success
Good luck! :good:
I've a rooted Mate 8 (NXT-Al10) with Build No. B368. Recently the set notified about the update of B386 and I tried to update, but as it was rooted, the update was unsuccessful.
I checked my set after that and found two .zip files ex: 1. Update.zip and 2. update_data_full_cn.zip are downloaded to my set.
Now my question is can I just use my TWRP to flash these two files to get the latest update or is there any other process for that?
Thanks and regards !
Rajan
I think u need to change twpr to stock recovery.
Then use dload method to update.
Please someone to accept my answer.
Cheers!
Yes you have to install the 2 zips in twrp.
Thanks @bodzio3333
Thanks @gm007
But, two different reply from two persons, don't know what to do ?
I fear if the twrp update fails and set might brick.
By the way where can I get the stock recovery and what is the process to install it?
Thanking all, once again !
Rajan
hi guys, hopefully someone can help me with my situation. I try to explain as best i can.
My Device: huawei nxt-L29
Build number : nxt-L29c636b585
( I install right firmware for my phone )
1. i follow this guide (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-root-install-t3301371 ) to Unlock Bootloader, Root, Install TWRP & Decrypt.
All working perfectly until last step "Decrypt",
Instead of format data - type yes... I do my mistake by click Advance Wipe and click Erase Data. And the phone stuck on loop bootloader.
2. I try to flash stock recovery for nougat and flash UPDATE.APP on EMUi recovery but failed.
Then I follow this guide for huawei p8 because i cannot find any related entry similar with my situation in Mate 8 forum ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p8/how-to/guide-how-to-unbrick-huawei-p8-failed-t3260704). And use Huawei Extractor to extract boot.img, system.img and recovery.img and flash it in fastboot mode.
All work perfectly and my phone restart like normal.
3. The problem after my phone unable to lock gps correctly (cannot use all because always changing position),cannot turn on bluetooth and unable to change ringtone/notification, and maybe a few more problem. i think its because I didnt flash all file in UPDATE.APP.
4. The question is how do i flash UPDATE.APP and get it fully work, because if i flash on EMUI recovery it always failed on 1-5%? Just for info in Update.app, there is 2 recovery image which is recovery.img and recovery2.img, do i need to flash both to try flash on EMUI again?
Hope you guys understand me,i not english speaker...Thanks,
any question just ask below.
Opening one topic will suffice :good:
The mate 8 actually has 2 update packages, the undate.zip and the update_full_hw_eu.zip, both need to be flashed, can be done via twrp, I suspect you are also missing settings like update and apps like file manager, I've done it the way you have and ended up with that problem
Download and install data zip

Hi guys,
I tried to find a guide on how to do this coming from a custom rom but I couldn't so I'm posting what I think the process is and hopefully someone can tell me if this is correct. I just don't want to brick my phone so want to be absolutely sure the entire process is correct before I undertake this.
Coming from Custom rom means
1. Bootloader unlocked
2. Twrp already installed
Download Files
1. http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=mha-l29&firmware_page=0
2. Get the right 3 files for your phone, mine is C636 (rebranded from Chinese version) so i'll be getting: MHA-L29 8.0.0.360a(C636) files
3. Rename them to update.zip, update_data_public.zip, and update_all_hw.zip
Flash Update
1. Use Vol-Up + Power to boot into TWRP.
2. Create "HWOTA8" directory in MTP sdcard.
3. Put hwota8_update.zip, MHA_RECOVERY8_NoCheck.img, and three huawei update package (update.zip, update_data_public.zip, and update_all_hw.zip) files into "HWOTA8" directory.
4. TWRP install sdcard hwota8_update.zip, it will reboot and install update automatically.
If I missed a step or something is wrong please let me know!
Thanks for the advice in advance guys!
Cheers,
Mike
Can I switch from 321 (C185log) to this update without opening boot loader or no
sorry i'm not sure because i'm actually posing the upgrade question
You can see this article may be of benefit to you

No, you need to use HWOTA, not HWOTA8.
HWOTA8 is only used if you are on Oreo already.

how to rebrand 432 for 636 for update 360a (c636) Oreo?

Hello,
Search for the Huawei Recovery Updater thread,
download the .zip and your rom.
The guide is within the thread.
Pay attention and choose the correct rom, they are three files (FULL OTA - MF)
If you have any doubts about the rom let me know.
Neither the developers of HuRU nor I will take any responsibility
for what you do with your device.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply! but I have to download all three files (and what's the difference between the three)?
Then it's better if you install a previous version and then update or can I directly download the latest (of stock roms)?
I tried to download the B389 . I put the files in a folder in the SD (renaming them as they should) but after flashing i need to restore my phone. i try by twrp but it gives me an error "Failed to mount '/data (invalid argument)", Unable to mount storage

Well dude here i am.
Let's have to say and apologize for this....
before any attempt of flashing you should have done a full nandroid backup
and also know how to go back to stock. Maybe it's not your case.
So, i suggest you a method but you never wrote the firmware you had before
installing EliteRom.
The difference between the roms are ( obviously ) security patches and various fix, etc..,
as well as different versions for single and dual sim.
I wish ask you two questions:
What was the latest stock firmware your device was on and
are your DATA filesystem EXT4 ? (check into the TWRP )
HERE i wrote how i managed to install stock firmware and correctly relocked
the bootloader. ( depend what you want to do )
