I was wondering if this is possible. I've heard of people using ICS Control to turn it into a hotspot, but I no longer have a working WiFi card. I just got a new computer with Windows 7 and all I can do is use the built-in Internet Connection Sharing that comes with WinMo until I get a long ethernet cable to wire from my router to my room.
So I was wondering if it's possible to use the phone's ability to receive WiFi to share that connection with the computer. I'm sure there's some way for it to be done. Any suggestions?
I have the same question
same situation here.
After some searching, I've found a program called "Serialtunnel" and "wmtunnel" that is supposed to do just that, however I cannot find any working download link...
Let me know if you find anything.

Will work as wifi to usb, making your phone a WIFI usb adapter. I use it with my desktop when hooked to my TV in the livingroom, rather than a 35 foot cord.
Its as simple as= plug in phone, start Wmwifirouter , touch wifi to usb button.
Battery charges while working so it doesn't kill it.
phone's ability to receive WiFi to share that connection with the computer can only be obtained if your phone allows to do so. check out the official site of your phone developrs. there will definitly be some considerations about this
Two solutions
Found two programs that do just this, both work on Windows Mobile (and unfortunately not on Symbian), but are supposed to do just what you're looking for.
ICS Control
Serial Tunnel
IF anyone figures out how to get this (converted) to run on a Symbian device... Thanks.
Anyone?
Bumping to re-ask question.

In other words, I want to use my phone as a wireless adapter for an old pc without wifi.
would prob get more luck asking in a symbian forum
Hi to all
I had recieved the dock and a good HDMI cable.
I tested in a Toshiba 37WL66Z, perfect video, but no sound, ( In the same tv I have connected my laptop and I have sound ), then I thought that it was the dock or the cable, so I tried this in a second tv I have Toshiba 32AV500P, two years newer that the first, sound ok in both HDMI inputs.( so cable and dock are OK ).
What is going on?, I had searched the net alot, but I have not found a solution, I have read that there are people having the same problem with me, concerning the dock.
Can I do something? is there are different protocolls, that the devices communicate each other in HDMI connections?
Can I made an upgrade or something else?
Thanks in advance
I think the compatibility is not a 100%. I had some troubles when I hooked my Tab. It's unbelievable that there is little to no information about the dock to find while searching on Google! (Troubleshooting)
Yes you are right no info, I had searched everywhere, the tab is a new model, perhaps in the future?, very stange though.
Perhaps the compability problem will be solved with a firmare upgrade?
I cannot found a link to ask Samsung Korea directly to check this matter, because a lot af us have the same issue.
If anyone knows a link to them?
I connected my dock, the tab makes a connected sound, but the tv doesn't recognize the dock, so no sound or video.

Ah. that's exactly the problem I had. This is the routine that usually resolves it.
1. Reboot Tab for a fresh start
2. Hook up the dock to power. (Apparently this is required)
3. Dock the tab.
4. Make sure it shows as "charging".
5. Plugin the HDMI cable. (make sure you don't move the dock too much! the connection is crappy and very easily loosened)
Thank you friend. I suspected I would need the power cable. I got one off ebay yesterday.
You have to add #6 to the steps: hold tongue out to the left side at a 30 degree angle. ;^)

Hi guys, I really hope someone here knows the answer to this (even if it is to say it's not possible). I recently got an Android head unit and am having a couple of issues. It shows as an audio device when I pair up my phone and there is no way to connect it to anything else such as my obd2 device. I have searched for an answer but really don't know how to frame the search. Is there any way to reprogram the device so I have full bluetooth access to pair it up to other devices.
I do have another issue where I cannot connect to it through the USB from my laptop so cannot use adb to try and root the device. It appears to "see" usb memory sticks fine but nothing else..
If anyone has any suggestions on where to look (and I have looked) I would be grateful.
Thanks
