Hi guys, I really hope someone here knows the answer to this (even if it is to say it's not possible). I recently got an Android head unit and am having a couple of issues. It shows as an audio device when I pair up my phone and there is no way to connect it to anything else such as my obd2 device. I have searched for an answer but really don't know how to frame the search. Is there any way to reprogram the device so I have full bluetooth access to pair it up to other devices.
I do have another issue where I cannot connect to it through the USB from my laptop so cannot use adb to try and root the device. It appears to "see" usb memory sticks fine but nothing else..
If anyone has any suggestions on where to look (and I have looked) I would be grateful.
Thanks

Good Day,
I'm in the same spot, I am searching in many forums for a solution.
If I find a solution that works I will post it here - please do the same!
My goal is to be able to carry a USB Bluetooth Adapter in my pocket, toss it in my friend's computer and QUICKLY setup a Bluetooth PAN to borrow his internet connection.
If anybody has any other solutions that may work for me I am listening!
Thanks, Audi2Audi.

The .cab file that you will find there will not work this way.
Is allow you to do the opposit. Use your wireless Internet on the computer
Hhhmm...Is anyone able to offer me a solution.
Bluetooth PAN is a service offered at the host PC (I have tried two different PCs) - However, my Bell Mobility HTC Touch (Vogue) does not recognize/offer the service in the Bluetooth Configuration. It only offers Stereo Headset and COM Port. Originally it offered ActiveSync as a service but that has since dissappeared for no apparent reason and replaced with the COM port option.
At home, assuming I could get the ActiveSync service back & to stick around, I could borrow my internet connection through ActiveSync.
As stated above though, I am looking for a QUICK solution when travellling away from home. Meaning without having to install ActiveSync/Mobile Device Center. The Bluetooth PAN option and ICS on the host PC appears to be the most workable solution. It is just a matter of getting the HTC Vogue to recognize it as a service.
Through reading several posts I have come to the conclusion that using a different Bluetooth Stack on the device may work. However, I have not come across instructions specific to the Vogue for achieving this.
Annnnny help or ideas to solve my problem is greatly apreciated!
Thank You, Audi2Audi.
Hello everyone, I have a couple of questions to ask all of you great phone gurus
**If this is the wrong forum for this sort of thread, I apologize in advance**
Basically I have ruined the USB connection on my Touch Cruise. I am wanting to know if there is any way I can access my files on the phone by having it connected to my wireless network at home (ie a program or something I can run on my PC.) Reason I ask is I am trying to edit the HTC weather Plugin to show my location (Lebanon, OH, USA) and it is quite hard/impossible to do using the phone alone.
Second question is, is it possible to replace a damaged USB connector? I know it is probably ruined but I figure it might be worth a try. I had attempted to hook up my front USB header on my motherboard, but plugged them in backwards. I managed to salvage the phone by removing the actual USB piece from the phone and pulling the wires out. Luckily I am still able to use the phone (nothing else besides the USB connector is messed up) by purchasing an external battery charger + battery.
I know these are probably both a shot in the dark but any help anyone could provide would be GREATLY appreciated.
You can sync via bluetooth if you have it on your computer, or wifi search in google for that (ex: http://wifi.aximsite.com/sync.html)
I tought replace it will be very hard .
just out of curiosity could you please give us some screenshots as i'm having a real hard time understanding what you did and how it looks now? ^^
using bluetooth will help and maybe a card reader + microSD might speed things up. find a good file manager for WinMO
i doubt that there is any way to acces phones files through wireles so bluetooth is the only wireless (and supported) way
I don't have a camera currently but just look at your USB connection on your phone then imagine that there is absolutely nothing in it. It is just an empty 'rectangle'. No wires or the little horizontal piece that normally sits in there. Just an empty 'rectangle.'
Thanks for the replies. I am trying the wireless sync now.
Thanks a bunch
Hello guys,
I want to write an app that registers my android phone as a HID through bluetooth to my PC. I have found many descriptions how I can connect a bluetooth keyboard or mouse to an android phone but no working solution doing generally the opposite.
The most helpful so far was groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/thread/73f03a22963b356d, but as you can see there also isn't any solution provided.
So is it currently even possible doing this with android? Could there be a way using the underlying BlueZ with the NDK?
Any hints and help would be much appreciated.
I'm currently working on something related, which is connecting an android phone to a PS3.
You can look in /system/etc/bluetooth, notably the main.conf file, in which you'll find a Device class definition. I yet have to try to change it, to see if it changes the way the device is recognized by others
Hope this will help.
Hi,
I'm new here! and this is my first post
I recently purchased an iBolt XproDock - and love it.
Just one little thing that is annoying:
When you unplug the micro USB cable (or undock) - it automatically turns off Bluetooth. I dont want this to happen because I also use my Galaxy Gear watch - and that runs on bluetooth. So everytime I undock I have to go in and turn back on bluetooth. I've searched and can't seem to find anywhere which lets you control this setting.
done quite a lot of googling to see if I can find an answer - still no luck. Hopefully someone else has the same problem.
I have a nexus 6p that, like some others with the phone, suffers from Bluetooth issues. I have performed every troubleshooting step in the book that i can think of and have come to the conclusion that it must be a hardware issue. The main thing i want to be able to use my Bluetooth for is to connect to my LG G watch R which i absolutely love. Trying to come up with outside the box solutions i bought a USB c to usb a OTG adapter and tried plugging in one of the Bluetooth adapters i have for my pc and using that instead of the built-in Bluetooth. No luck. The phone doesn't even recognize it as far as i can tell. My phone is rooted so if any possible solutions require root that is fine. Does anyone know if this setup could be possible? Any possible solutions besides having to write custom drivers?
