Hi,
Need a bit of help!
Have attempted to unlock my phone using this guide... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395945
But I get to the radio update stage, and the phone wont complete the upgrage.
So I took the phone to a phone shop locally and they had the same problem. They said the best option was to get an unlock code from HTC direct and that should unlock it.
Picked the phone up the other day and was told that HTC couldnt provide a code for my phone.
Phoned T-Mobile who were able to provide an unlocking code, went to turn the phone on with another sim inside and get a message saying that the incorrect code has been entered 6 times and I have to wait for timeout. How long does it take to time out?!
Thanks in advance for any advice!
so last night i was playing around with my DVP and i set a password. i locked the phone and then tried to unlock it with the same pin but i guess i must've put in something else because the phone refused to unlock, saying the pin was incorrect. i've kept on doing this and now i have to wait 16 minutes before each attempt.
i'm really frustrated, is there anyway i can reset the phone and set it all up again?
btw this is an unlocked 16 gb DVP that i got off the dell ebay deal for 300.
to my knowledge, the only solution would be to get in touch with DELL.
call them...

Hey everyone, My dad got his sim locked Verizon galaxy s5 G-900V unlocked a year back and it was working great with his T-mobile sim card. Until few weeks ago when he started to experience that his signal kept dropping and anytime he made calls he got this message on the other line stating ""your account is not authorized to make calls to this phone number "" and this one as well """your phone is not activated to activate your phone please press n key""" . This problem kept persisting until he only could make calls a few times a day because he wasn't getting any signal. I thought that a factory reset might fix the problem but after I did that to my surprise the phone sim-locked back itself to Verizon , I also noticed that if you try and make a call with the locked phone it gives the same message about the phone not being activated like before. So my questions is why did the factory reset sim-lock a phone that was already unlocked and second any idea what was the cause of those messages that prevented the phone to make calls and the fact that they are the exact same messages you get when you are making a call with a incorrect sim card with a sim locked phone.
Bump ... Anyone ???

Tell him to take it back around, it shouldn't have locked after a reset

Its been over a year. I dont think they will allow that. I always thought that when I phone was unlocked it was unlocked im surprised that after a year of using it one reformat would cause it to sim lock
I bought the phone from Ebay and it was advertised as unlocked, but when I got the phone, I noticed the T-Mobile Device Unlock app with the options of permanent unlock or temporarily unlocked. I tried doing permanent unlock but it said it didn't work, but temporarily unlocked did.
What confuses me is that before i try all this, I tried 2 different sim cards from 2 different networks and it worked fine. The app says that if it is permanently unlocked, the app will disappear. So is there a way to check if my phone is truly permanently unlocked or only temporarily?
FWIW my phone has been fully refurbished and the s/n has been altered before. So idk what has been changed on this phone.

I'm pretty sure it's temporary, since not only is it not gone but you also pressed temporary which is allowing the other service to work

weird thing is that my phoned worked as "unlocked" before i press temporary unlock. Unless the seller did it and factory reseted the phone so that i don't see it. But anyways, i went here: https://www.t-mobile.com/verifyIMEI.aspx and entered my imei and it said it has a outstanding balance. Gonna email the seller about that...
