I Broke My Screen - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hello friends a week ago i cracked my screen just by one little drop and now i want to change it so do any of you know if it is possible to change just the screen glass?

Nope, this has been a thing for a while now.
You could take it off, but its just so much work and you will damage the screen itself

Screen Protector

Hey, i've bought a couple different screen protectors including writeshield, but they dont really do what i want them too. when i got my tilt it had a screen protector on it, which still allowed me to use the touch screen protectors , with all of the screens i have purchased, they are to thick to use the screen.
Does anyone know a place you can buy a screen protector where the touch screen is still usable??
thank you
Any screen protector made for the the Kaiser should let the touchscreen work. I have a very thick one on my old Treo that still didn't cause a problem. Is it possible that you've accidentally got your screen protector in-between the screen and the casing? Something like that might cause a problem.

I don't have any casing on my phone! im not sure why the touch screen doesnt work then =[, it works fine when i take it off, but with this screen protector on, it doesn't have any response!
By casing I mean the bit of the phone that you hold. Every phone has that
wow
idk what happened but its working now...
thanks for your help =]

Cracked my screen badly...

So, I had a nightmare - was chatting on my phone, stumbled, dropped the thing dead on to concrete.
The screen now has cracks running across it from top to bottom and a few snowflake/spider web looking cracks in it.
Whilst I can still read the screen and amazingly the touch sensitivity hasn't been affected, I don't want a smashed up phone.
So to clarify - my phone works fine, it scrolls and picks up typing etc etc - it is totally useable but the glass screen that protects the LCD screen has been damaged pretty badly.
Can I just buy a new screen for it? Or will I need an entirely new phone?
Cheers

touchscreen layers disassembly

Hello guys. What i did was stupid but now it's too late,so i want to sare with you so no one does the same mystake like i did and maybe someone can tell me if it can be repaired. So what i did i've peal off the first layer of the touchscreen.First time when i put the first layer back to the screen every thing was alright, but because i had some dust between the plastic layer and the screen i had reapeted the process again and after that the touchscreen wasn't working,i mean i have the image but no touch control of the phone.i realised that there are 4 contacts(i don't know how to name them) that pass electric impulse between the plastic and the touchscreen and by preasing that area i discovered that i got again control of the screen but in sort time even if i pressed that area no touchcontrol.
Does anyone know if i can get touch control of my tattoo screen?
replace the digitizer
Hey if you haven't fixed your problem yet, you can buy a digitizer and replace the old one. You can get one for $15.

[Q] Replaced screen problems (video)

Hi all ,So the story goes is I had my cracked screen replaced by my insurance 2 months ago. My new screen was fine up until a few week ago when this started happening..

Basically when I press hard on the top right of the screen I get ghost touches all over the screen. It also happens all the time when I use a case because of the pressure on the top right part of my screen.
I noticed that I can get my fingernail in between the 2 parts of the phone on the side. I really don't want to go a month without my phone again so I'm reluctant to send it off to insurance. Has anyone had this problem? Should I try a phone repair shop? Does this happen if a screen isn't fitted properly or is it another problem? Thanks
Seems like a faulty digitizer
More info... The screen works fine when I press it normally. It only goes crazy and when I press slightly harder or if there is a case on

LCD broken or fixable?

Hey guys,
broke my Nexus 4 screen a few years ago - now I wanted to replace it just so I have a backup phone.
I removed the glass with some tools, and while doing so another layer at the bottom of the screen came off. (exactly the part that was broken and didnt respond to touches)
It now shows solid white color when the phone is turned on, and I cant find any info wether this layer
is supposed to come off while changing digitizer and glass or not.
Have I borked this completely? Would like to know before I waste money on the Digitizer + Glass instead of just getting a new front frame.
Edit: Okay found out that this is the polarizer which is pretty cheap on the internet.
