I have a Galaxy s4. When I plug it in to the wall charger, it says, changing paused, temperature too low. I have an app to read my phone temperature and it says give or take -5 c. I've tried a master reset and tried looking online for solutions, I also tried putting my battery in another s4 and it works fine, the only way I can charge my phone is to use a heating app for about an hour Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this glitch? i tried calibrating my heat censor but i don't think it worked, the heat sensor in my phone doesn't seem to work. Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated. maybe if i could get an app to force charge my phone, or disable my heat sensor all together? i tried finding a diagram of the mother board so i know exactly were the heat sensor is and i also had no luck. PLEASE HELP!!!
Hello everyone!
I have a problem with my s5 in the last few weeks.
When I connect it to charger, it gets really hot. I checked under battery section and it indicates that my phone is always awake while charging (I didn't enable the "always on" option in developer options). The interesting thing is that when I restart the phone while it's on charger, after the restart it stops showing that it is always awake and the temperature drops drastically.
So, I'm guessing that when I connect it to a charger, something starts to use the processor, and after a reboot it stops.. I don't know.. Does anyone have a similar problem?
And of course, I flashed a new 4.4.2 stock rom and did a full reset from stock recovery, so everything was untouched, but it was still warming up. I was so desperate that I even installed lollipop, but the problem still occurs
I really don't want to reboot my phone every time I connect it to a charger, or worry about it charging over night!
Does anyone know if the zmax can turn on without its internal battery installed? And a plus if it turns on automatically without battery once you plug in the usb charge cable? Thanks! Trying to install this phone as more of stationary tablet. I dont want a battery in it, less hassle to deal with if in case it fails as this phone may be sitting in relatively direct sunlight or general higher than normal heat (but not enough to kill it).
Battery isn't meant to be removed. Not sure anyone's tried running it without it in there.

i tried to today with no such luck. trying to find out how to unbrick it. tried running twrp recovery and reboot into recovery mode and it has not came back on since.
Does anybody know how to disable the temperature sensor? My phone's sensor is not working, temp is shown as -302ÂșC, so I can't charge the phone unless it is on recovery mode. I tried to clean the charging port, use another rom (resurrection remix), change the battery, nothing works for me.
Does anybody know how to disable the temperature sensor?
I ran my phone down to empty battery, so I went to charge it. As it was already powered off I left it because, surely, it would charge faster that way.
When I came back to take it off the charger I discovered the phone powered on, display on full brightness, WiFi on and everything, and the phone hadn't charged sufficiently at all.
I never told it to turn on but it does this every time, and even when I turn it back off it turns back on again!!! ???
Thanks for your answers! ?
The same thing happens to me... no offline charging on our G6's, at least not after reaching around 5% of battery.
So when I want to charge my g6 faster, I will plug it in and make sure it's charging and then I will power it off. It will act like it's booting back up but it won't.

You can't change that. The only workaround is to turn it off after you have connected the charger. Since I use wireless charging, that is a difficult option for me so I just gave up.
You can't ffs, it has auto boot after 3-4% of charging. And thats not even a bad thing. If you want charge it faster turn airplane mode on, on charging.

"ffs"? I don't think it was that unreasonable to ask. Don't be rude. I already know about airplane mode.

Try factory reset first. If still the same then it sounds like a battery failure, which can be replaced but not easily.

when i plug into charging it shutdown sometime with heat temperature warning sometime without ..i think its not battery issue ..as other people also face different issue like when they plug in device tirn off it automatically turn on when plug in ..
by the way why there is option in USB debuggin menu for Unlock OEM and usb debugging as it cant be unlocked :crying:

That option in settings is there whether you can OEM unlock the device or not... Also, most or at least some G6 models can be OEM unlocked.
That temperature warning is still probably your battery. Batteries can get extremely hot when they malfunction (much more so than the other components alone) so I'd get it checked out or you may have a Note7 in your hands

thanks for info .. lets see i got new battery
So still no fix for the issue? Mine is turning on when charging as well, I mainly use wireless charging but it happens when charging with the USB cable AND when charging wirelessly. The phone will not stay powered off. Any suggestions? I have the most recent Android 8.0.0 update, VS988 on Verizon. I've never had an issue like this on Android, very frustrating.
I also found this link from LG. It seems to be software based, why would they do this?

In my case I drained the battery during usage thus not performing a graceful shutdown. When I try to charge into the wall it displays the charging icon on the screen and runs out of power and shuts down again-->Won't Charge.... I plugged the cable into my computer which seems to perform a slower charge --> the battery icon does not display and I am able to charge... this is silly as as a workaround solution. How to prevent the battery icon from display during charge?
This worked for me and it was so simple. I was looking in the wrong place for an answer.
On the plug end, where the USB cable is plugged into the plug, I noticed that the cable did not seem to be pushed in all the way. I pulled it out of the plug, then reinserted it as far as it would go.
Voila! The problem went away. I can now turn off my phone, insert the charging plug, and the phone goes into fast charge and, most importantly, stays powered OFF. Try it. this might work for you as well.
