LG Bridge solved photo viewing issue (T-Mobile LG V20 H918) - LG V20 Questions & Answers

If you use Windows 10 and want to view/save your camera photos on your computer, but haven't been able to by plugging the USB cord into your phone and computer and setting the USB charging option to File Transfer, try LG Bridge from a link on this page: digipassion.com/lg-bridge-pc-suite-software-for-lg-g4-free-download. After I downloaded the .exe file, logged in with my Google account and clicked on “Connect”, it found my T-Mobile LG V20 H918 wirelessly via LG Air and worked flawlessly to display my album folders in Windows Explorer (under Gallery folder) and then loaded all my photos with thumbnail images. Each album loaded separately, so it was not instantaneous, but it was still quick. It puts an LG Bridge shortcut on the desktop so once I click that, then I click Connect again, my folders show up and I can see my albums in the Gallery folder. I don’t sign out after I’m done, I just click “Disconnect” and close the app on my desktop so I don’t have to sign in again next time. NOTE: One thing I did change on my computer while seeking a solution – under System and also under Folder Options (Control Panel) -- I made sure that my settings were “show thumbnails instead of icons.” It’s in two places.
I got this phone about four days ago and from the beginning, was not able to view my Gallery photos or albums on my computer as I could before on a Droid Turbo. After attempting many solutions over the course of 10 hours/two days, including trying unsuccessfully to download LG Bridge from the main LG site and being told by the LG Live Chat lady that it was not what I wanted nor was it updated so it wouldn't work, I tried LG Bridge again. I got it to download onto my computer from the site above rather than LG.com. I’m not sure why the LG Chat lady told me that LG Bridge was not what I wanted and wasn’t updated unless it’s a coincidence that it was updated after I spoke with her. It is definitely what I want/need to see my photos. I can’t download it now from the main LG.com website Support page to see if that works now because I already have it on my computer. But possibly that would also work now.
It’s been a nightmare to get this working but I’m happy that whatever didn’t work before now works. I hope this helps others!

PC Suite for Transformer

I have read all the previous posts on trying to find this to install it. I posted the question by mistake on accessories. Anyway, this is one answer to finding it someone posted.
"Try to install manually from: Asus Sync: confused:??? where is Asus Sync???) dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/TF101/Utility/setup_1.0.40.exe MyDesktop_SplashTop: "
Now could someone explain that to me in plain
English. If this is supposed to be a web site, there is no such animal. It looks like a program to me as it is executable, but pray tell, if so, where might one find this program. (a link would be sooooo helpful)
Could someone who is much more computer and Android literate please break it down for me. Is this software (PC Suite & Sync) supposed to go on your Windows PC as well as your Asus Transformer? Is there an actual website? I have been all over Asus web sites and can not find it. I would be most happy to install it, IF I COULD JUST FIND IT.
Please someone give me step by step instructions on this, as I am about to throw this Asus Transformer out the window, and I don't want to do that. I know it is my ignorance (or at least I think so)
I see many have posted this same question, so some good soul who knows his/her stuff, please help the rest of us out.
SplashTop App
Asus Web Storage App
Asus Sync
These are the three apps that the downloader is suppose to install. I had the same issue as you but I found another post on here that listed where to find them on Asus' site, so just saved them in Dropbox so I won't have to worry about it. Hope this helps.
It confused the hell out me too. I run linux, which pc sync doesn't support.
I wanted to see if it was actually anything I needed so I installed all the drivers and downloaded the PC Suite (which was only a few KBs when I downloaded it for some reason) and it wouldn't install, so I downloaded just the sync app and installed it. Even though all the drivers were installed correctly it still wouldn't connect, I eventually find out it was because I had ADB debugging enabled on the TF, once I disabled it, it connected fine.
Once I opened it, it was just as I expected: pretty worthless. It allows you to sync your contacts and calendar from the device to the computer (which is kind of dumb considering all that is synced to google's servers, so there's no real need to sync from TF to PC IMO) and to install apks that are on your pc to your TF.
What I was really looking for was a way to put my music and pictures on there, but couldn't find a way. I found out that you have to use a music player such as winamp to copy your music over, you can't simply drag and drop.

You could setup a ftp server on your asus TF and upload it via ftp client on windows/linux/mac.
I'll probably end up doing that. My friend introduced me to File Expert (which you should totally check out if you havent already) which has built in web and ftp servers. Best of all its free!
Could always use Wifi File Explorer as well
Market Link for it
Thank you for your responces. I got them loaded now. Only problem is I can't
Transfer contacts. In Asus sync cause it won't recognize transformer device. It is there when I go into COMPTER along with my other drives. However whenever I open Asus Sync, it is darkened and you can't highlights or checking anything.
You need this: Samba Filesharing by funkyFresh
I called mine "android" and I have read/write access from my pc to my trans at \\android\sdcard
To save space just use Audiogalaxy for music. It doesn't get much simpler and you can stream your music from anywhere.

Windows 10 Experience

So now that people are upgrading to the release of Win 10, I'm curious about your experience.
For me, it's a smooth OS with a lot of things I need to get used to but I have made some discoveries.
The task bar - on my main monitor won't auto hide. A search tells me this has been a bug for the last few technical releases. Oddly enough, all of a sudden, a few minutes ago, it started to work but I assume this will stop in the next reboot.
The Mail App totally sucks. No number of new emails in each account when you click on accounts. No view for all accounts. No using mouse/shift to select multiple messages. No Check boxes to select all messages in any folder. New incoming messages show up in the action center, only, but you have to open it to see them. Not getting desktop notifications.
Cortana looks like it could be good but setup has been a pain since for some reason my Microsoft LifeCam Cinema HD cam can barely hear my voice, even with level up all the way.
Camera App - totally doesn't open at all. I had to d/l a third party app which I don't like.
Settings page is tough to find things like Advanced Settings. That's WAS, oddly, in System/About but now it;s gone and replaced by other shortcuts. so setting the paging file size manually, etc is just gone for now.
Edge is the best browser yet by MS, but it's not going to get me to stop using Chrome
What are everyone else's thoughts so far?
It's nearly perfect. Drivers catched up, not a single incompatible program, major performance boost in games after installing the latest Nvidia driver. The only bug I've seen so far - Action Center's tray icon is lit on on system startup even though it's empty.
I'm recommending it to everyone I know, I've already installed it on 3 PCs I have access to. It's just 10/10.
Upgrade??
First, so far I like Windows 10 a whole lot better than Windows 8.1, but the upgrade has been a nightmare.
The upgrade on my AlienWare (Dell) laptop went smooth. No problems at all. The upgrade for my Surface Pro 3 (Microsoft) has been anything but smooth. Microsoft's own computer did not upgrade right. First, it installed Windows 10 Home even though the Windows 8.1 that was on it was the Pro version. It also wiped out all of my installed programs and apps. I didn't lose any data but the applications will all have to be reinstalled.
Mine won't even install on my Asus Transformer. Says Key cannot be verified....
If you are still having problems and difficulties upgrading your PC to windows 10, kindly follow this post on my website. A few clean up steps got my Dell system to upgrade to Windows 10 http://www.selftechgenius.com/how-to-geek-2/how-to-upgrade-to-windows-10-for-free/
OK, so here's a big one. I use my 500GB D:\ drive to store documents, downloads, pictures and videos by default. I tried to save a picture off the web to the pictures folder and got access denied error.
So I looked properties, security and noticed 2 things. 1, the folder was marked as read only and 2, there was and Unknown User account. I deleted that account, and changed the properties on both C: and D: drives and that fixed it but you should all go check to see if you have the same thing.
I'm thinking I'm going to get a 1 TB HDD backup to put all my personal things on, format both drives, then do a clean install. I've always hated doing OS upgrades on top of older releases and the few bugs I have, like the camera app not working or the VIA HD Deck app not opening are the reason why. I just have to wait for all my hardware devices to release Win 10 drivers
I wasn't a fan of Windows 10. Immediately after "upgrading" the track pad on my laptop didn't work properly anymore. Based on my research it's a driver issue with no solution until the driver is updated. Who knows when that will be.... I use my laptop a lot for school and can't afford to wait.
Microsoft also removed basic tools like paint with no good replacements in the app store. I also didn't like how it pretty much turned my laptop into a phone by calling the Control Panel "settings" and having an app store and stupid stuff like that. I went back to Windows 7 after less than an hour on Windows 10 and couldn't be happier.
I did like the UI, though. It kinda reminded me of the material design of Android 5.x with the flat colors and stuff.
I am very happy with win 10, got it on my Desktop and my Tablet and even though i had some touchscreen issues in the beginning it works well now on both devices
I did a clean install on my laptop, as opposed to the update on my desktop, and it's better. Cortana works right, etc.
My ONLY beef is the mail app sucks
I upgraded my Lenovo to Windows 10 with the media creation tool but after a week or so decided to do a clean install to get rid of the terrible bloat(though most of it I removed when I got the laptop).
I downloaded the ISO and CLEARLY remember choosing 64bit Home Single Language. But after I diakpart the drive and reinstall the OS I realize that I have a 32 bit version installed.
And my 15GB limit of "high" speed broadband is exhausted and I CANNOT download a 4 gig file on a 512 Kbps connection.
I'm stuck till next month or till my friend gives me the 64 bit ISO.
But its completely my fault, so guys BEWARE, don't make stupid mistakes!!!!
But I like the OS(mostly). After disabling Microsoft's sneaky data collection and automatic updates its all good. Don't forget to disable live tiles cause they hog bandwidth too.
But boot speed is faster, performance is better and multiple desktops and snapping is great!
[Moto E 2nd Gen 3G running CyanogenMod 12.1]
I don't like Windows 10 at all. It sucks on Tablet(Touch) and PC/Laptop. With StartIsBack++ you can fix Win10 a bit for mouse/keyboard, but the UI is still cluttered and ugly as hell.
Really?? I don;t have that problem at all, especially when doing a clean install
My upgrade went well.. But afterwards it was a nightmare. It took my DAYS and about 14 reboots just to get it unfrozen long enough to open task manager with ctrl+alt+delete. Then, suddenly, after a reboot, it worked. It is now even faster than 8.1 (although I sometimes need to use task manager to speed it up). All of my programs and files work.. Except for cam studio which didn't work on 8.1 either. [emoji13]

I totally agree with Mail app sucks. I sent some emails but sent items folder is still empty, not syncing.. And honestly, I don't like the settings app because eventually it forwards you to the control panel for lots of settings. So what's the meaning of this setting app, right?

Right. I just pinned Control Panel to Start so i can get right to it
I have Windows 10 pro. Whenever I try to connect to my pc using various remote desktop apps on my android, it gets connected for a moment and then it shows error message that someone else is connected to your pc please try later.
Any suggestions?

I did a fresh install, I like it, just that there's no direct access to the computer from the start bar, I managed to pin 'this pc' to it, but It wasn't good enough.
I added the start menu back from Stardock Start10.
fresh w10pro install here on an hp elitebook. no issues at all.
On Acer fresh update, no problems
I updated my Toshiba Satellite to Windows 10 and it runs smooth. There's only an annoying thing. Sometimes when I turn on the PC and log in it says that Cortana and Start Menu aren't working, so I must have to turn off and to solve this problem temporarily I have to press Shift while it turns on. But some days after it happens again.

Finow x3 plus sideloading

I have this watch and have a lot of questions but will try and keep it simple.
There are some apps that I cant download right from the GooglePlay store and I cannot seem to get the edges to show so I may be missing a toggle like "agree to terms" to allow for the install. Yes I know this watch has the "zoom" feature which is supposed to fill the screen in a circle and when disabled makes it a square to view the whole screen and not to miss anything, and it does do that but NOT in the GooglePlay store it always stays zoomed in no matter what I do so I guess my question is:
Is there a way to side load apps with this watch? When I plug in my cradle to USB on my windows 10 machine it shows in "Devices and Printers" but does not show up as a drive(which I have had with previous smartwatches), and when I click on "properties" it shows all good except the MTP driver is not good. Thus would make sense why it is not showing up as a drive for me to side load.
I tried to safely "eject drive" for it and it did and I reconnected but still have issue. I searched internet for drivers and downloaded a really bad virus which took me a while to get rid of doing a system restore.
Anyway does anyone have a link to the real working drivers for the Finow X3 Plus so I can see it as a driver and sideload apk's to it?
Thanks!
Also is there a program that will mirror my screen on my watch to a PC or my cell phone (also Android)? That would be the best actually if it was interactive mirror. I know they have programs for Android cellphones that will do that but not sure about smartwatches especially this model.
Hi bro
Try this
http://roundandroidwatches.proboards.com/thread/298/download-apps-play-store-easily
I user the Vysor plugin for Google Chrome. All you need to do is connect the USB cable and that's it.
Along with minimal ADB and Fast boot - it's all you need really.....

At first I had horrible connection issues with Vysor but seems to be stable now. Nice program!!!!
But still I cannot view full screen. Sure I downloaded the "search settings" app and can tripple click each corner to zoom in corners but they are still rounded corners and it is not showing full square image it is still round.

Rooted LG V20 won't reveal hidden files

Good evening, XDA. Recently, I spent the night rooting the LG V20 model by T-Mobile H91810d. Successfully followed James Lane 19 minute tutorial on Youtube for it and flashed noverity by the end.
Regardless, it still won't allow my PC to completely view data files, the V20's temperature rose (used to feel a lot cooler), and the speed became significantly slower. Immediately enabled developer mode and disabled automatic updates to keep my current software version.
I just want to see files within offline applications like Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition for modding purposes. Does anybody know how to successfully view app data specifically through PC at this point? The app data is clearly visible through Google Playstore's mobile file explorers.

I forgot to select "show hidden files" on my PC before. Could it be that?
I wish. All files extensions are already set to show for Fallout and Skyrim modifications. Thanks for the response
Showing extensions and viewing hidden files are different options. You probably know that... just putting it out there.
I can't recall the exact situation, but I have had instances where files on my phone were unavailable, or non copyable from the phone. You can try a adb pull of the folder, or using an internal file manager compress, then copy the compressed file. Also make sure you can see hidden files on the computer lol.
I got the view hidden files feature switched on and double checked this now to make sure. The worst part is I can't paste over the app's invisible file structure with a replicated one. It creates a new folder instead like if there's some invisible force shield around it or something lol

What is safe to debloat?

Hi guys,
I'm a noob around here so sorry for the maybe dumb question but here it goes:
I now have a stock rom installed 20B and I actually wanted to debloat it. I use this link for the debloating ZIP:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g6/development/script-lg-g6-debloat-v1-t3660651
When I debloat stuff my LG crashes and I need to install the rom all over again or restore a backup.
Are there any of you who have successfully debloated your LG G6?
Please take it friendly
Thanks!!

Booted up very fast.
Idk how this soft works, but I had to disable some of the apps manually after boot, it did not delete them.
Overall phone flies like a devil. No lags, no freezes, remembered my old nexus.
So far so good. Looks like everything works correctly.

This is the thread that I followed, highly recommend it!
The trouble with the app store debloaters, to me, all the permissions needed. I'm trying to make things better, not worse.
Do a google search on an apk if you're not sure what it does, most of the time some info comes up giving a decent idea. Also note in the above thread is the mention of a file mgr utility that allows you to 're install' a pkg, without having to do a complete reset. I've used it, it works.
I'd say this isn't really for beginners, but! it's a good way to learn your way around adb etc. What's the worst that could happen? You factory reset you phone... oh well, certainly not the end of the world.
adb is very powerful, it's good to use it to become familiar with it. There are commands to see your partition table, to start 'root' - if the phone allows it, to push and pull files, to mount partitions as RW, etc etc
Worth the effort to learn.
it's safe but not reliable. some LG apps integrate each other. Some of them will be fine if only disabled not removed.
Just in case anyone is still using this debloater: I discovered (the hard way) that removing LG Calendar also removes the Google Calendar Storage app, which renders Google Calendar (and most other calendar apps) nonfunctional.
