What is safe to debloat? - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
I'm a noob around here so sorry for the maybe dumb question but here it goes:
I now have a stock rom installed 20B and I actually wanted to debloat it. I use this link for the debloating ZIP:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g6/development/script-lg-g6-debloat-v1-t3660651
When I debloat stuff my LG crashes and I need to install the rom all over again or restore a backup.
Are there any of you who have successfully debloated your LG G6?
Please take it friendly
Thanks!!

So H870 Stock 8.0 +root+debloater
Booted up very fast.
Idk how this soft works, but I had to disable some of the apps manually after boot, it did not delete them.
Overall phone flies like a devil. No lags, no freezes, remembered my old nexus.
So far so good. Looks like everything works correctly.

This is the thread that I followed, highly recommend it!
The trouble with the app store debloaters, to me, all the permissions needed. I'm trying to make things better, not worse.
Do a google search on an apk if you're not sure what it does, most of the time some info comes up giving a decent idea. Also note in the above thread is the mention of a file mgr utility that allows you to 're install' a pkg, without having to do a complete reset. I've used it, it works.
I'd say this isn't really for beginners, but! it's a good way to learn your way around adb etc. What's the worst that could happen? You factory reset you phone... oh well, certainly not the end of the world.
adb is very powerful, it's good to use it to become familiar with it. There are commands to see your partition table, to start 'root' - if the phone allows it, to push and pull files, to mount partitions as RW, etc etc
Worth the effort to learn.

it's safe but not reliable. some LG apps integrate each other. Some of them will be fine if only disabled not removed.

Just in case anyone is still using this debloater: I discovered (the hard way) that removing LG Calendar also removes the Google Calendar Storage app, which renders Google Calendar (and most other calendar apps) nonfunctional.

[Q] phone arives tomorrow what shoudl i do first?

Im a long time apple user and would like to know the best way to move everything across to the G2 (can i still use itunes?)
also anyone any tips to minimise the LG UI,making it as close to stock android as possible without rooting and rom-ing?
Failing everything i plan to use nova launcher which i believe should fix a lot of issues.
any tips for a n00b would be appreciated
thx

Look at Double Twist. It will sync your iTunes library to any Android device. There are other options like Syncr. Both can sync wirelessly with a paid for addon.
Installing a different launcher is a good place to start. Just search for launchers in the Play store on your PC or phone, and pick one that has good ratings and is for 4.0+
Once you are happier using the phone, you can look into rooting and romming.

You should give the LG UI a chance. I personally hate most UIs but I don't seem to mind the LG UI as much as i did with say Touchwiz.

Turn off carrier iq. For T-Mobile users, goto settings, General, Backup &reset, Collect diagnostics.
Enjoy your phone.
Agreed on turning off Carrier IQ. Take a little time with the LG launcher, see what you like and don't like. Turn off what you don't like. I decided to turn off Slide Aside for the time being. It wasn't very successful when I did it.
Download the LG PC Suite (if you use a Windows PC) as this has a "Mobile Device Migration" option in the Tools menu which allows you to select one of your iTunes iPhone backup files and transfer contacts/sms/calendar etc from the iTunes backup to the G2.
a dance
charge it till full
enjoy!

LG Bridge solved photo viewing issue (T-Mobile LG V20 H918)

If you use Windows 10 and want to view/save your camera photos on your computer, but haven't been able to by plugging the USB cord into your phone and computer and setting the USB charging option to File Transfer, try LG Bridge from a link on this page: digipassion.com/lg-bridge-pc-suite-software-for-lg-g4-free-download. After I downloaded the .exe file, logged in with my Google account and clicked on “Connect”, it found my T-Mobile LG V20 H918 wirelessly via LG Air and worked flawlessly to display my album folders in Windows Explorer (under Gallery folder) and then loaded all my photos with thumbnail images. Each album loaded separately, so it was not instantaneous, but it was still quick. It puts an LG Bridge shortcut on the desktop so once I click that, then I click Connect again, my folders show up and I can see my albums in the Gallery folder. I don’t sign out after I’m done, I just click “Disconnect” and close the app on my desktop so I don’t have to sign in again next time. NOTE: One thing I did change on my computer while seeking a solution – under System and also under Folder Options (Control Panel) -- I made sure that my settings were “show thumbnails instead of icons.” It’s in two places.
I got this phone about four days ago and from the beginning, was not able to view my Gallery photos or albums on my computer as I could before on a Droid Turbo. After attempting many solutions over the course of 10 hours/two days, including trying unsuccessfully to download LG Bridge from the main LG site and being told by the LG Live Chat lady that it was not what I wanted nor was it updated so it wouldn't work, I tried LG Bridge again. I got it to download onto my computer from the site above rather than LG.com. I’m not sure why the LG Chat lady told me that LG Bridge was not what I wanted and wasn’t updated unless it’s a coincidence that it was updated after I spoke with her. It is definitely what I want/need to see my photos. I can’t download it now from the main LG.com website Support page to see if that works now because I already have it on my computer. But possibly that would also work now.
It’s been a nightmare to get this working but I’m happy that whatever didn’t work before now works. I hope this helps others!

Galaxy J727p removable debloating list

Putting this here in hopes of helping other J7 perx users pull the most from their battery . Thanks to Ashyx we have root on our device!! Wich makes this possible. Recovery atm is still being worked on so bootloops are no fun, figured id help everyone out, took quite the number of bootloops and several hours to come up with rebooting after every single uninstall to pin point certain apks, hopefully it is useful.
First make a backup with titanium backup!!
(The list does not rob the os of many features, but if theres something here you dont want taken out then simply look over it or restore it)
68-70 apks removed with titanium backup, lets get goin.

Do not remove dictionary.apk or device maintanance.apk, as both result in bootloops. Make sure to run the sd maid app from the playstore afterwards to clean things up!
Also feel free to adventure and add to this list!!
any news my friend about more apps that can be uninstalled?
Note of advice while debloating Stock Oreo ROM for SM-J727P
All the listed apps in here just apply fine except you have to keep in place the native Email and Message apps because if you uninstall any of those the Camera app stop working properly right away https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77722457&postcount=29

I have an Oreo debloat script in my Spacesung thread. Everything without a # sign in front of it in my script is safe to remove. Additionally, it's also safe to remove Samsung experience, the theme store, and Touchwiz launcher, if you have another launcher to replace it. You can remove google videos as well, I just forgot about it. The native Samsung video player will kick in from the gallery if you do. I prefer it myself.
For those who still rock with this warrior phone.
As of this writing and latest ROM version J727PVPU7BTH1 do not uninstall the included Chrome web browser apk as it would prevent you from signing in to the Play Store account.

Bloatware removing???

So I happened to find these apps, I'm using G6 from Korea (G600L). I posted this thread in G6 Q&A already and seems like not so many people know
I'm not sure if these apps are safe to unsintall (Adb shell pm uninstall)
It would be great if anyone could tell me

Any updates? Even if you share your progress so far would be highly appreciated!
As a general rule, unless you're 100% certain, you shouldn't uninstall system apps you're even remotely unsure about. Your safest bet would be to use an app like Root Uninstaller Pro to "freeze" them and see if any side effects come about on your phone. If so, you can unfreeze them and keep testing what you can and can't disable. LG MLT is something you should definitely get rid of, and apart from the PC/Sync packages you listed there (Which you could remove if you don't intend to use LG PC Suite with your phone) I wouldn't go fully removing any others.

Whars up i know no one saw the debloat video i been going through some personal problems here and there but i would love to tell you all that ever since i deboated my phone it still works along with some tweaks cause i would have the phone crash and all. Below are the apps I have disabled on my Verizon LG V20 (VS995). Remember to be careful, if you disable any of these apps or features that you use they will no longer function.

System apps: AppFlash, Bold & Black, Bookmark Provider, DT Ignite (May be called "Mobile Servives Manager"), Handwriting, Hangouts, High Contrast, OK Google enrollment, Print Services Recommendation Service, Print Spooler, SnapPage, Tags, Talkback, Tasks Storage, Trusted Face.

root lg g6 to remove bloatware and google?

bought a used g6 to stay on 7.0 -I just dont like the multi colored gui with menu pop ups when you want to move an icon. and the menus wchich are all grouped
not a fan of google. so looking to remove as much of google as possible from the phone.
no graphene no lineage as they are new android version which I dont like. the grouped settings menu drives me crazy.
in running processes there is "locationservice" that cannot be disabled? and why does the quickmemo+ run so many background processes?
what can or I cannot delete of google on the phone.?
anyway to get back 7.0 that looks like the right image? it now looks like the right image but with the multi colored bozo the clown show. horrific. im not into 10000colors for clean looks.
I need to disable that lg smart doctor and persistance to update softwares. I want to remove that stupid screen shot notification in drop down swipe..
I dont need many apps from the play store.
whatsapp, waze and a photo editor and a non spying notepad to write things. thats it and still too much.
browsing is almost non existant for me on the phone. no music player.
when ill get my pinephone the transition will bring me less stress.
I have some privacy concerns so hence me disconnecting from google. FB is long gone. no social media. too fake. no gmail. no drive. no cloud.
any help would really be appreciated. I need to do this
for me threat level is the 5 internet giants.
stay safe
