I've never had this happen before, I can't get my phone to connect to Google services. Some Google apps are still working and sync is working. The only app I ran across that doesn't seem to work is Talk. It also seems my data is slow to respond to me accessing something on the internet, it will just sit at the 3G signal and do nothing for a while.
When I first flash everything runs great until I reboot then the connection issue starts. Anyone got any ideas?
Running AOKP nightlies, and I've tried several different versions.

I always used to have issues with GTalk when restoring from TB after flashing a new ROM. I suggest to never back up GAPPS when flashing ROM's. If that's what you did... wipe everything again and start over but do not restore GTalk. Hope that works for you.
What carrier are you on?
Double check your APN settings (Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Access Point Names)
If it's WiFi, it's probably a ROM-thing. Reflash or use another one

Alright, so I tried this and it didn't work. Only thing I restored was battle net authenticator.

T-Mobile. I didn't get too check the APNs before I restored from a previous version. It looks like a AOKP build from Dec 24 and its got Faux working on it perfectly. I'll try another build at a later date unless someone has any advice that I can try.
Bumping for hopeful solution to this. I've tried running JellyBro, JellyBeer, newer AOKP and even an older Gapps. I can't seem to solve this problem. ANY info would be appreciated.
Edit: So taking out my sim card and letting the N4 sit on wifi does the trick but as soon as I put the sim card back in it continues to have problems. This leads me to believe its the sim card so i put it into my Gnex and it works just fine...
Bumping again for anyone who has any ideas on how to fix this. Haven't been able to even use my Nexus yet since I've gotten it because of this.

Someone please help, I'm having the same problem, if I solve it, I'll let you know...
Has anyone been experiencing issues with the APN auto switching between 3g/LTE? For the past month or so every cm based or aosp rom I try has issues automatically going in and out of 3g and LTE areas unless I manually go into APN settings and switch it. Very annoying while traveling and last week there was the whole "roaming indicator off" message for service instead of "SPRINT". Any solutions or ROMs anyone know of that don't have this issue?
Edit: I'm using CM11 jflte on Philz recovery with the NAE modem. Maybe more success with MK2?
I'm having the same issue since the cm-11-20140323-NIGHTLY, and I have to do the exact same thing. I have the MK2 modem so I wouldn't worry about switching modems.
haha, yeah. I tried it and same issues. Sad to say, but it looks like I'll be going back to a Touchwiz ROM for now at least.
AOSPs have always been like this for me since epic touch and the GS3.

I think I may have fixed my problem with a combination of two things. I am using CM11 and I'm not responsible if this breaks your phone. First, I did the enable MTU probing shown in this thread (all thanks and credit to Steppnasty):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2556590
But before rebooting after the fix, I went to Access Point Names in Settings, selected the Sprint LTE internet, and deleted the APN that just said Sprint (was the top one in my list). After a reboot, my LTE/3G switching has been working fine. Not sure if this will help anyone here, but it seems to have worked for me.
Is this still an ongoing issue with all 4.4.2 ROM's? have since switched back to CM 10.2.1 until this issue gets resolved. Can't see how anyone could use a ROM that can't automatically switch between network types.
The point of this thread is to have a general place for Sprint folks to help each other out.
I started it because I saw a lot of the same information getting repeated in the S5 thread.
I'll be keeping a list of a few tips and tricks to help get your Sprint S5/Note 3 working as best as it possibly can, and hopefully explain it in a straightforward matter.
If anyone has other suggestions of what should go here, please let me know.
Common problems:
1. LTE isn't working
Possible solutions:
1. Your network provisioning got weird somehow. Flash stock, update your PRL, update your Profile, and then flash Lineage again
2. Your sim card is very old, and we no longer have hacks to support it. Get a new one off eBay, and follow steps in solution 1 for provisioning. See list of working SIM cards below
2. Other network service isn't working
Possible solutions:
1. Your network provisioning got weird somehow. Flash stock, update your PRL, update your Profile, and then flash Lineage again
3. Phone is bouncing between network types
Possible solutions:
1. Try making a standard voice call, to force it to CDMA or EvDO, to help stabilize the connection
4. Voicemail notifications don't show
Disclaimer: Known bug, will not be fixed. This is because sometimes voicemail read signals don't get cleared properly in Sprint's system, so they show forever.
Possible workarounds:
1. Manually call voicemail whenever you get a missed call
2. Use Google Voice and forward calls and texts to a dummy number on your phone instead, or use Sprint's Google Voice integration
General Tips:
1. Don't mess with preferred network settings, I set them specifically to work properly on Sprint

I have a G900P with Virgin Mobile. I wanted to provide some info on the bouncing between GSM-CDMA issue. Today I wiped three times and flashed three builds (LineageOS 10/25, 11/1, and crDroid 10/26 based on LOS 10/25). In all three times, after wiping and flashing roms, I would see the phone bouncing CDMA-GSM when switching between preferred network types. Then I would dirty flash the same ROM (only the rom, nothing else), it seemed like this issue goes away and the phone is VERY stable. I will wipe again to see if I can keep replicating this phenomenon. You guys can try to dirty flash to see if it also fixes the LTE connection issue (nothing to lose). I saw it a few times but I couldn't see a pattern, and now that I have been switching preferred network types several times over the last few hours, I have not seen it anymore. I will keep testing.
The G900P radio issue has been going on forever. its almost as bad as the timezone bug we have had forever.
install rand g900p cyanogenmond/lineage rom.... go through install..... deal with phone trying to escape into wrong carrier or frequency... pray it remains stable for work.... post logcat hoping for fix..... repeat for several years with no avail......

I'll add the suggestion to not mess with preferred network types, I set the default to what is ideal for Sprint. Did you dirty flash the ROMs over themselves? or over an older version?

I aim to improve that, at least a little bit. The stability has improved, from the feedback I've been getting. The timezone bug was fixed a long time ago as well, in May iirc (and it wasn't just Sprint, T-Mobile US and AT&T had it too)
The network for sprint devices using; lineage-14.1-20171108-nightly-kltedv-signed is definitely better so far.
Sounds like you guys on sprint have some issues still ... I am running my g900p on att .... Works great i dont think i get full 4glte but i still average2-3 megs a second so its definitely not bad ... Fair trade off i guess.

I would imagine the LTE bands AT&T uses don't line up with Sprint's. I have similar issues on my G900F on T-Mobile, I frequently see H+/3G/E when I should have LTE.
As for Sprint issues, yeah, but it's a lot more manageable now. Most of the weird bugs/quirks are now just fixed by getting provisioning on stock, or a new sim card.
I always heard about what a PITA sprint was, and imagine it worked like crap then, but it's not too bad now. I still prefer T-Mobile, for various minor reasons,
but my hltespr on Tello (Sprint MVNO) makes a perfectly usable backup phone if anything goes wrong with my T-Mobile sim, and it wouldn't
really bother me to use it. That's pretty much my main goal: Make Sprint as usable as possible, so the user doesn't need to notice they're on Sprint.

Just to update, everything worked out well!
Upon replacing the old SIM with a new one, I still couldn't get past 3G. I flashed to stock CQD1 in Odin, updated the PRL and profile, ##72786# to reset, and still nothing.
After a few Google searches, a few forums suggested to call into Virgin Mobile to update the SIM's ICCID number, because this is the reason I couldn't get LTE; the ICCID didn't match the SIM card they had on file. Once done and after a final reboot back into stock, LTE success!
Flashed TWRP in Odin and restored a recent lineageOS backup, and LTE success!
Again, this board was very helpful, thanks!
Just ordered a new SIM card from Sprint. The old one showed as incompatible according to OP. I could only get 3G if I changed to CDMA/EVDO.. Hopefully the new one will allow me to run LOS 14.1 with access to LTE on TING. Thanks for the info.
@javelinanddart Hi, would you mind taking a look at this radio log from 15.1? I can't get LTE working under any circumstances. I have the latest baseband for G900P and a good SIM card, and everything was working in 14.1. Log shows switching from "CDMA/EvDo" to "CDMA/EvDo + LTE" then setting the APN to FreedomPop LTE.

Well, If you come back to this, let me know if you need more logs. I'm going back to 14.1 for now, as the signal is really bad (Keeps switching between 1X and 3G).
Edit: 14.1 is now borked as well... Some relatively recent change must have killed it.
And here's a log from when 3G/EvDo craps out...
Sorry for the multi-post, but I just found my problem: The default APN settings for FreedomPop, the MVNO I use, are somehow wrong. So I deleted that APN and redid it with the following settings and was able to get LTE.
Name: FreedomPop LTE
APN: n.f6.ispsn
MMSC: http://mms.sprintpcs.com
MMS proxy: 68.28.31.7
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 120
APN type: default,mms,supl,hipri,fota,ims,cbs
APN (roaming) protocol: IPv4/IPv6
Bearer: Unspecified
MVNO type: None

Sorry for the delay, I've been busy working on another device. I had the same issue (even though it worked fine before) on my hltespr. After a wipe, my LTE started working again too, which was really weird. I don't really want to investigate this, since it's working now.
I've had stock MM for two years, but recently it was starting to get really slow so I decided it was time to install a new OS. I've tried XenonHD, Lineage 16, AOSP and Lineage 17 but all have the same issue: I just can't get the mobile data to connect. I've tried all the common fixes for this issue suggested on the internet, like toggling airplane mode on/off etc, and I've checked that the APN settings are correct, allow data roaming is enabled and my data plan is still active.
I think it's some kind of issue with the ROMs, because someone else has mentioned that XenonHD won't connect to data while roaming. I'm currently residing in a European country that isn't my home country, and using the SIM from my home country since the provider has good value for money data plans and the EU has recently made it illegal for them to charge extra for roaming within its borders. So I think the devs need to catch up with the times and realise that data roaming is now fundamentally important for some users. Unfortunately, it looks like they have abandoned the ROMs they have put out, so I won't be getting any help from them directly. Does anyone else have any idea what I could do, apart from reinstalling stock MM? And I'd rather not buy a local SIM card right now since I'll anyway be moving to a different country in a few months.
I've since also tried ViperOS and MIUI 8, but still no data. From Lineage 17 onwards, my phone was also showing the wrong time and date, so there seems to have been some additional issue with the network connection (even though I could make and receive calls). I also noticed that if I would try to manually connect to the other available network here, immediately I would get the message "Unfortunately, the process android.com.phone has stopped."
So I've gone back to stock MM for now and the data came back. I would still appreciate if someone could fix this issue with the custom ROMs though so that I could use one. I think they are faster than stock and it would be nice to explore their features. It's a shame I can't use them just because of one issue. I will probably still need the data roaming when I move to another European country in a few months time.
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else is having weird issues with the new LineageOS 19.1 update? I upgraded from 18.1 and am having a bug where certain apps can't connect to the internet am forced to use WiFi instead of mobile data in order to use the app. I do have my mobile data turned on and check the info of the app and allow the app to connect to the internet. Was wondering if its just me and need to reformat or is there anyone else coming across this issue as well.
Build: lineage_fajita-userdebug 12 SP2A.220405.004 ba65ac2b7e
Status update: I reformatted the phone the issue still persist.

Nope. I checked those and they were correct. I even reset back to default to see if that would work but nothing the situation stayed the same and didn't work properly. I managed to get into contact with Metro to reactivate my sim card as well I went a little further than I should but I wanted to know if it was Metro network or my phone and still was having issues. All in all I decided to go back to stock firmware and I may try again later months to see if the issues have been fixed.
To be honest I doubt it am having way too much fun with Gpay at the moment.

Could try some other roms. I've never really liked lineage much but any of severalt's new roms are great. Zero issues for me
