AOD & Gear VR Shell Requesting SU Access - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

This has been occuring on my G935F running OnTheEdgeLite 3.5 for a few days now. For some reason, both AOD and Gear VR Shell want root access to my phone, which I have set to automatically deny because I see no reason why they require it. While I do use AOD on a daily basis, I don't even own or have never used a Gear VR headset, and these requests are scaring me. Can someone please explain this? Is Samsung attempting to pull shady bullsh‎it?

Greenify?

Do you guys still use Greenify? Non root and rooted S8 users.
I don't use it anymore. I think the Device Manager does a good job.
i have it installed but it isn't activated/in-use. i wanted to wait to see how the phone managed itself first and so far it's leaps and bounds better than my S6 Edge. if things stay stable i will probably remove Greenify all-together.
I've been wondering if anyone has used it. I have been using it for years on my rooted Droid turbo with great success. Just wondering if none root mode is worth it.
I used it as non-root user, now I use it as root user. It's good to be sure that no app will stay awake and drain my battery, that's why I've never stopped using Greenify
I think it depends.
With wakelock detectors, greenify it self do cause a lot of wakelocks.. Not to mention that now days many apps manage to go around Greenify methods of hibernation.
It do worth if you have a rough app that keep waking up.
If you don't, it's better to be off.
I my self still have it instaled, but as i freeze the apps that go rogue (like play store) and unfreeze when i want to use it.. i'm one step to make a TB of it and uninstall

GEAR S2 PROBLEMS!?!?! (Rooted DEJUNKED i337m 5.0.1)

I have deleted A LOT of factory apps on my i337M, I never intended to get a smart watch.
when I go to the app store to download the gear app, it doesn't even show up; and when I search it out on the internet it says that it isn't compatible with the i337M.
I am assuming this is because I have deleted some Samsung service off of my fone.
I can re-find and re-flash 5.0.1, but I still want to have minimal Samsung bloatware. Does anybody knoe what all is required to use the Gear
I got the Gear S2 connected and fully working, but I had to use one of the apps from the app store (Gear manager for all) great app for people who knoe how to re-flash their own fones( but I still refunded it after downloading everything I needed.)
This is all due to the fact that I only get about 24H of battery life on the gear, and I heard that could be due to the jankiness of my setup.

SamPWND root causing problems for Gear VR?

I have a S8+ on Verizon, and after rooting I am having some weird problems in Gear VR. When you first put boot up Gear VR it works excellent, maybe even better than before root. But if you take the headset off so that the screen shuts off and leave if off for about 10-15 seconds (but not removing the phone from the headset) two things happen. When you put it back on, it is clear when you are still, but there is severe motion blur when you turn your head. Secondly, the screen brightness stays at max no matter where you put the slider in setting. If you take the phone out of the headset, and then put in back in again, everything is normal until you take it off and try to put it back on.
Part of the fun of VR is passing it to people, but now it is no longer possible!
I was trying to troubleshoot it but I can't quite figure out what is happening. It has the motion blur even with one eye shut. It doesn't show up on the recording as far as I can tell. I didn't use gear vr for a few weeks prior to rooting so I am not sure if this is a global Gear VR problem from one of their updates, or if this is coming from the SamPWND root. Has anyone experienced this?
I did also try uninstalling and reinstalling Gear VR and Oculus if anyone was wondering. I tried this in the S8+ section but got no response.

ForceDoze on Oreo

Hi!
I wanted to ask if ForceDoze (a root-less app that forces Doze to kick in instantly when you turn on the screen and to ignore motion sensors so it's not interrupted, even in your pocket) is still usefull in Oreo for the S8, or if Oreo's Doze already works like this. The app was last updated a year ago and the developer didn't mention anything about Oreo.
Not sure exactly what u need.
But for non root s8, greenify has force doze. Need to adb it.
Do we need to force doze to kick in instantly, or is it better to be left alone in Oreo?
????? does force doze work in oreo?????

Using Daydream on OP5

Anyone here actually got Daydream VR and all of the daydream apps running properly on the OP5?
So I was getting bored and decided to play around with Daydream on the OP5. I have bought a Daydream VR headset with controller and unlocked VR using the flashable from Shadowstep. The Daydream app shows up in the Play Store and everything seems to be running fine with the headset. However, majority of the Daydream compatible apps does not run in split screen mode, Twilight Pioneer, Wonderglade, Rez Infinite and BBC just to name a few examples. When I run those apps, I just get the full screen and not the split VR screen. Apps like Daydream, Google Photos and YouTube VR works fine though.
Searching through Google and various forums, heaps of people has brought this up but no one has really said anything about a fix (if its something that can be fixed). So I thought I would post here to see if anyone has been successful with running Daydream on OP5.
