I am expecting delivery of my new yotaphone 2 soon. I was wondering if I can use yotaflasher without rooting the yotaphone?
Yes you can.
Yotaphone_flasher won’t even install!
Hi, i’m having trouble even installing yotaphone_flasher.exe on my ancient PC. I get an “unable to locate component” error when I run the installation: the file missing is MSVCR100.dll. I’ve tried re-downloading but the error always comes up... HELP this whole process is driving me insane!
help me please

Hi all
I cant seem to find a definitive answer to this and Samsung support have not been very helpful.
When I try to install the drivers for the Galaxy S when connected to Kies I get a driver failed to load message.
It seems to be the MTP driver.
This is on 32 bit W7 laptop.
Does anyone have a solution to this? With Froyo coming but only via Kies it is becoming a bit desperate!
Thanks in advance
Simon
you are not alone my friend, everyone have grief with Kies
after installing Kies, try the option to Install Driver inside the Kies app
see if that helps
next alternative is to install Android SDK drivers
There seems to be a lot of issues with Kies. Mine is 'MainStage has stopped working'.
However there is little, or no, support for it. Loads of Kies questions and reported issues have gone unanswered on this, and other, Android/Samsung forums.
I've just managed to get the Australian Kies release working on my XP laptop. 5 or 6 installs and uninstalls, cleaning folders out from bad uninstalls, looking for reminants left behind. It took ages, but now at least I managed to get it working and clean my Orange SGS and flash it to JM1.
Just going to copy and paste the tips I wrote up on VF when I'd wanted to use kies to upgrade firmware:
Yakumo said:
Kies direct download link : downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/SW/201009/20100903113039859/Kies_1.5.1.10074_45.exe
This is the most up to date version as of writing this, don't use the auto updater it can take 2 hours, ridiculous update system going file by file for 10,0000 files instead of a single download than unpacker.
Install Kies, then click kies at the top left, and with the phone not plugged in select driver recovery. when that is finished plug the phone in.
If you still have a problem with it connecting, with it looping the MTP connection on the phone.
the MTP connection bug has been identified at last and though there isn't an official fix yet, it's not too hard to sort out yourself
filenames with an extension of longer than 16 chars on your SD cause the MTP problem, so anything after the last "." on a filename that is longer than 16 chars.
I think the largest cause of this is probably the '.thumbdataX-XXXXXXXXXXX' file you will find in "DCIM/.thumbnails" with any file manager app. You can just delete this and then try connecting
I deleted that file, and the entire TunnyBrowser directory, and the SoundHound app entire cache directory.
This was the first time I'd had the problem since I got the phone and wiped my SD card, but I hadn't been taking photo's till recently, I have a lot of other apps installed. Clearing those 3 things fixed the problem for me immediately.
Once I had done that I was able to install the JM1 firmware successfully, the phones auto reboot after flash seemed to fail after the samsung logo came up - after leaving it a long time it didn't progress, but I pulled the battery out for 30 seconds and the phone was fine after that.
I had backed up all my apps with ASTRO file manager before the install, and contacts with kies, but I did not have to do any restore after the flash in the end. all contacts and apps were still there.

Have you tried Kies from Samsung Australia? They have the latest version (1.5.1.100853)
Meh, my Kies just killed itself, decided to update and now it bombs out every time I connect the phone, tried rolling it back, but its still screwed.
How hard can it be?
I originally posted a fix, but the server rollback killed it.
So here it goes again
Download the new version from australia
Then uninstall the old version from your PC
Then delete the \kies\ from \program files
Install the new version of kies from australia
Done

Can anyone tell me how I can add the android market app to my elocity A7 tablet
If you are rookie with Android - install DexterMod

Trial And Error...
I Don't know what i'm doing, so i don't recommend anyone trying what i am doing here but i'm just trying different things out, waiting for Dexmod 1.4 but i decided to experiment with my A7 and see what i could come up with. I wish i had a USB A-A cable so i could test and experiment a little more, but I was trying to use the newest Firmware from 2-24 and get access to Google Market. What i found in my experiment somewhat actually worked, but some things did not function as they should.
What i did was i extracted the Update.zip files from each the 1.3 dexmod, and the 2/24 update from elocity. I used the system.img from dexmod, and used the boot.img and recovery.img from the firmware update, and compiled them back into a new zip and flashed back to my device. When the update was done flashing, I had Both bluetooth functionality from 2/24 and google market with success.
What did not work:
My SD card kept trying to mount but did not successfully mount, and Access to USB Thumb drives also did not work, so i flashed back to 2/24 stock update to get my usb/sd functionality back.
I tried reading through several different forums on how to add google market 2.2.11 via market.apk, and google services framework, also tried an update.zip with market, but each update i tried said couldnt find .bin, and was trying to load it from usb, but could not get it to work on just the firmware update alone, so if i ever get a usb a-a cable, maybe i can experiment more and learn how to do different things with it.
I currently have Eclipse installed and waiting on standby, and i've launched 2.2 AVD and messed around with it a little bit, but did not see any system, recovery, and boot.img files from within the avd? all i found was cache, snapshots, userdata, and userdata-qemu.img files and hopefully someone more knowledgeable about this can help me out, in figuring out how to either edit these.img files from within windows 7, or help me figure out how to work with eclipse and avd to port market to our A7.Like i said, I'm new at this and some of what i did may sound incredibly stupid, but the only way to learn is by experience sometimes. i know this is in the wrong section (could'nt post in Development section) for that i appologise, and hopefully someone with experience in the ways of android could give me some helpful advice.
Thanks,
Jeremy
Hi all,
After countless checks on forums and other threads on XDA, I've decided to post this thread as I couldn't find a similar case anywhere.
Situation is I have a TPT from China. Long story short, it was from my company, and when I moved back to Europe I got to keep it.
Anyway, the problem is that it comes with a blocked Lenovo Store, meaning I can't access any of European/US/international apps. Going to Google Play store online doesn't work ("you haven't used any device with this account") - tried from tablet or from computer.
So I thought I would root and install a custom ROM that could enable me to get to the store and personalization/optimization of the device.
I managed to root my TPT thru this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925025
Everything went OK but then I am stuck at the next stage.
If I understand well from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846044, I need to install CWM and then install the custom ROM.
The thread about installing CWM, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831161, just doesn't work, maybe I'm doing something wrong.
If anyone can help it would be very helpful, right now my TPT is just useless...
Thanks all, any help will be very much appreciated.

Needing a few more details than "just doesn't work"... Are you getting an error message?

Hi Da Reeseboy, thanks for answering first.
ADB drivers have already been installed on my windows machine in order to root the TPT.
Then at step 3 of the tutorial ("backup your old recovery"), I tried to input the commands into the TPT but nothing happens.
I have installed an application from the chinese lenovo store called SuShell in order to do that (I do speak some chinese). SuShell just tells me "command executed", that's it.
Actually I am not clear if I have an "old recovery" or if it's only for people already with CWM.
So I went on to step 4.
I did copy the file "recovery.img" to an SD card, stick it into the TPT and tried to proceed on the TPT via SuShell again, but when I type in the commands, SuShell tells me "command executed", but nothing happens again.
So I am a little confused if I am doing something the wrong way or typing the commands not thru the right channel or something else.
That's where any help will be very useful.
Thanks again!
Those commands are intended to be run from the computer in a command prompt with admin rights from the directory adb is in (normally the folder you extracted the root files to).

Thanks da_reeseboy, that made it!
I had a few gliches on the way but nothing major that I couldn't overcome.
I did follow the steps on the tutorials and now CM seems to be working fine on the tablet. It seems that a couple of functions on the TPT are either crashing or not working correctly, will try to look into it, but mainly I am now able to access the Play Store and said goodbye to the Chinese Lenovo Store.
Cheers again!

Hello guys. I have problem with my Oneplus 6t. Today I wanted to root my phone but I encountered a problem. I will try to explain simple.
1. I tried to do it using the same tutorial -------> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Es80k627kTc //// https://www.xda-developers.com/official-twrp-oneplus-6-huawei-p20-pro/ after uploading the files twrp and magisk on my phone and launching twrp (3:53) and going to the installation tab, I do not have any files that I've uploaded earlier from the computer. Files in this tab are as if encrypted. Something like
2h8P9lGY8I1A884LMsBjaA
2u+nb0LdBNopRSa5LehsvB
75aTrCvYkWG+R+lrcRz6WA
DcwYkwSKokq8Rm5lYc4YYC
In systems, the computer also sees the same characters in place, there is no possibility of uploading anything. I tried to erase the system and then upload files to the phone. TWRP will then notice the files normally, but you can not install them, crashes the error and after rebooting the phone stands in fastboot. However, I was able to restore the entire system back, but I'm still at the 3.53 tutorial stage.
At this link is a photo of the phone's system folder after connecting it to the computer and launching the twrp from the laptop
https://www.fotosik.pl/zdjecie/usun/0r0~nR_1RrbrxeX9m0crzLaMr_ZOpH
I apologize for the language but I use mostly google translate.Does anyone know what can be done with this? I will add that after removing the system there is still no twrp on the phone
Have you tried reading the actual 6T threads on the matter, and using 6T specific twrp?

You need to follow this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-unofficial-twrp-touch-recovery-t3861482
guys, thank you very much everything works as it should: D I've been sitting here for about four hours.
Like the subject says I am having a few problems.
I have a Lumia 950 XL, which I have just acquired.
My first problem is that I have no problem sideloading apps, but if I try to install too many I get this message "unable to install application. the maximum number of deveiloper applications on this phone has been reached. please uninstall a developer application or try again". I think it is letting me install about 10, but won't let me install anymore.
Ok My second problem is that I followed this tutorial on youtube, which I thought might fix my first problem
Seemed like a good tutorial but I had a couple of problems.
I installed Windows Universtal Toll (WUT). CMD Injector and Interop Tools (RC)
The problem was that the CMD Injector just shuts down when I click 'Inject'
Also in the Interop tools I can't turn on Inerop/Cap unlock or New Capability Engine Unlock. It just turns on again.
I hope someone can help me with these problems.
The first problem is the most annoying as I have tons of XAP files I would like to install
regards
Asimov
I have now realised what I did wrong. I followed the wrong tutorial for an x50 phone. Unfortunately I think I have now killed my phone as I ticked the option Restore NDTKSrvc and it won't turn off.
I tried following the following tutorial for doing the vcReg10 but it won't work because of the Restroe NDTKSrv. I think I have done something stupid, and now I can't even see my documents and pictures when I plug in my USB cable. I just see a pile of system files.

Ok I did a complete reset, so the phone is back to square one. Gonna redo the above tutorial before copying everything back to the phone.
Right I got the phone unlocked ok, but there is a but. I followed the above tutorial on how to unlock the phone and everything went fine. So then I downloaded WUT Windows Universal Tool, but here is the problem with it. It download to the download folder. For instance I downloaded TinyVNC, but if I try to install from the phone it don't install. However if I copy it back to my PC and install with WPV XAP deployer it works.
Can you tell me why I can't install straight from my phone?
I can double click and it says install, but it never installs.

Perhaps that's because along with the WUT you get a valid certificate (e.g. WUT_1.4.11.0_x64.cer) , which is missing from the phone.
