Phone Reboots on "Pair with your Watch" Screen - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Everytime I try to pair my Moto 360 1st Gen to my phone(Oneplus One)
- On the "Pair with your watch" screen in the app the phone hangs up (becomes unresponsive to touch and stays on that screen) and reboots after a few seconds.
I tried the following
- Clearing Data and Cache of Google Play Services
- Rebooting Phone
- Reinstalling multiple versions of the Android Wear app
- Un-paired the Watch from Bluetooth Settings
Still no solution!
Oneplus One Stock 6.0.1 COS 13.1.1 (Unrooted)
Google Play Services Version 9.4.52
Tried with Android Wear App 1.1.1.2113877, 1.4.0.2552934 & 1.5.0.3124679 - All resulting in phone reboot!

The same with Nexus 5X and Moto 360 under CM13.1
Please help !!

Bye bye Google+?

So I went to update Google+, but no update showed up. I knew there was one I haden't installed yet, so I checked my list of apps and saw Google+ wasn't on there. I then searched for Google+ in the Market and it doesn't come up. I even went to the Google+ Mobile site and hit the Market link, and the page came up, but there was no install button.
I'm running GB Elelinux and I was able to install the old version from the Market fine, so I have no idea why it isn't working.
Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.
Exact same issue and phone. Don't really know what the actual restriction is. Would be nice to find out.
Have you checked your market settings? Maybe cos Google + is age restricted and your settings not set to show all apps ? Just a thought...

My age restriction thing is set to show all apps.
Unfortunately I have the same phone and same issue.
I have Google+ 1.0.6 installed but there is no update showing in the marketplace and the Android Market desktop site says that the 1.0.7 version is not compatible.

OK, I've not tried the one in the link but a mate sent me his APK for version 1.0.7 and it works fine.
If the download in that link is legit, it should work fine.
The Hero lives another day!
Interesting to see EVO 3D owners having the issue as well, it seems like a general Android problem as opposed to a "having a phone that's too old" problem.
I'll try the APK if I still can't get it from the Market after updating my ROM
2.0 from apk working fine aswell.
Google want us badly to upgrade phones
Hello,
I have the same issue.
I don't know if it's tied but once I tried VE 6.1 at dpi 140, and it worked.
What is your dpi?
and tell us if it works.
Thanks.
Don't use Google+ that often since its release, Twitter and Facebook are enough for me

Widgets keep flashing / refreshing when re-entering scree

The issue; any time i return to the home screen, either from closing an app or unlocking the phone I am see widgets disappear and reappear Or refresh. It causes a brief lag on the phone and is annoying.
What changed: started day of the big io conference. 2 things happened that day, I side loaded the hangouts app and play services. I also got many app updates from the conference including SwiftKey.
My one friend has the same exact issue at the same time, ideas?

as an experiment, uninstall the hangouts app. i bet that is the cause. you arent the only one that has mentioned that behavior starting at that time.

Hi,
I have the same issue, as soon is I type on "google" in the account tab, the parameters application is crashing.
I cannot anymore remove a google account from my phone.
Update google framework and make sure you have no screen filter/dimmer running. If stil, try clearing cache and dalvik cache and reboot your device

Hi
thanks for info
I wiped both cache and my phone is up to date (don't know how I could update google framework out of google play) but still same issue.
what do you mean by screen filter dimmer ?
Some screen filters dissable on-screen buttons or over-use the RAM, so you wouldn't be able to open some functions. Try disable any filter.

Also worth checking: google "sync options google" and go to your device, tap on sync all and retry.

Hi
Thanks again. I don't have any screen filters. I removed almost all programs.
I cannot go into google account setting to check what is synched or not because it's crashing as soon as I click on it on parameters.
I think last solution would be a total wipe but I would like to avoid.
any other idea ?
Kind regards
Fred
I confirm that problem too. It's on all Note 3 and S4 I have under my hand (8 devices). Both not rootet latest official firmware. Problem is with Google Play Services 9.0.83. They have a bug or incompatybility with Samsung Firmware!
same problem here
same thing is here ... but i saw work around in another thread throw the gallery
i need to know how to fix this problem :crying:
Yeah, trick with go thru the settings of stocks gallery works ok. But its not a solution.
I went through the Google Settings in the Google folder in the App Drawer and that worked for me.
Yep. Stock Note 3 here and same issue... But even when I can go to the account settings through the gallery app, my contacts keep disappearing now and then... so annoying!! Does that happen to you as well? It's fixed changing the contacts to show... sometimes. Or rebooting the phone.
@up its other issue in my opinion.
Any news or solution? ??

Google settings does not bring to sync options like the OP problem which is the same as what i am facing. The gallery method does. I think i will try to downgrade to OF1 and see whether it is due to the BOK3

worked for me
Problem solved. Yesterday got 71MB security patch update from samsung, which solve the problem.

[GUIDE] Digital Assistants - Alexa with Show Dock *and* Google!

This enables both Alexa and Google Assistant at the same time, while replacing the FireLauncher permanently with NovaLauncher and retaining Show Mode
Notes
Alexa can be enabled, the fire launcher disabled while keeping Show Mode active, and with a little bit of fiddling, Google Assistant works as well - both from the Show Mode screen.
The first "OK Google" dismisses the Show Mode screen and shows Assistant, the second one uses the assistant - completely hands-free.
All that fully rooted on 5.3.6.4 (5.6.0.3).
Tutorials to follow
Root: retyre's method
Disable FireLauncher, enable NovaLauncher, reboot
Install Google Play Services *without* disabling alexa (ommit last ADB command/keep `alexa_enabled=1`)
For HD10 use this Google Play Services APKhttps://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...s-11-5-09-240-164803921-android-apk-download/
Use Google App 8.33.6.21 beta (disable updates in Google Play) after installing the Google Play Services, reboot
Initial setup/Troubleshooting
Resetting the Google App (when OK Google stopped working or activating Voice Match doesn't work), or for first run
Stop the Google App forcefully then remove its data
Toggle NovaLauncher in accessibility settings off and on again
Reboot
Open the Google App and get it to recognize "OK Google". If it doesn't: set all languages in its settings to English (US) and/or reboot and/or forcefully end the app and retry and/or re-toggle accessibility settings and/or set the secure settings again
Enable Voice Match. If it times out with an error, toggle primary languages in the Google App settings, make sure English (US) is always primary; try adding your main language as secondary; otherwise reboot
Start Google Assistant and follow the setup
Profit
Get the OK Google beep back
Most of this is trial and error, I haven't been able to pinpoint after which point "OK Google" works again once it stopped, if it stops. Using Google App 8.33.6.21 beta I have yet to see it stop working.
Tested on
Fire HD 10 (2017) 5.3.6.4 (5.6.0.3)
Please test this on other versions/tablets and report!
Updates
19/11/24 #1:
update Google App recommendation to 8.33.6.21 beta
add Google App reset instructions
update instructions
1 - I am surprised no one else has jumped on this to try it out and give more test results.
2 - How much time to lose ability/ how often the RESET?
3 - Process of RESET?
4 - I honestly would not mind switching between, ideally via Voice but if both can work together - brilliant.
I've made this into a semi-guide with a little bit more detail and specific APK versions.

before I do all of that just want to clarify on what to expect
when screen is off and not plugged into power - saying "Alexa" will activate it?
what about saying "OK Google" (with screen off and not charging) will activate google?
thank you ...

I'm using the HD 10 in show dock mode (and this tutorial is aimed at that use). If Alexa activated for you before, when screen was off and the device not charging, it should do the same after the mod. As for Google: not sure, please try it yourself.
This method still working with specified "Older Versions" on HD 10. Can anyone test it on an HD 8 Please?

How does this Google Interpreter mode play out on Amazon tablets?
Are you able to utilize both Alexa and Google Assistant to launch all apps or are you relegated to having to use Alexa to launch those apps installed via the Amazon App Store and Google Assistant to launch those apps installed via Google Play Store?
