Make sure you reboot afterwards, I'd say twice too be sure everything is properly adjusted I'm having no problems so far

Thats great. Any fc's at all? I thought the phone was sweet out of the box, other than the bloat, but jb and root make this thing awesome.

experienced 2 force closes, one at time of removal, and the second after fixing permissions, but i have yet toosee any other force closes or negative performance due to removal of bloat, and agreed its one awesome phone ^_____^

yeah always good to back them up, i tend to stay away from system apps as they can lead to never ending loop of FCS

New Google play services 4.4.48

New google play services has been released. Some features listed below along with the mirrored .apk file
Google Maps Street View API
First off in Play Services 4.4,*we have a brand new API for Google Maps Street View. This will allow application developers to embed Street View imagery into any Android application activity.*Doing so, your users will then be able to have the same in-app experience as what’s currently possible through Street View in Google Maps, including 360 degree panning, zooming, and so on.
Activity Recognition
Next up, we have Activity Recognition. No, this isn’t regarding Android application activities. Rather, a new feature in Google’s Location API is able to detect whether you are*running or walking, given sensor data. This is in addition to the API’s previous ability to tell if you’re driving, biking, on foot, still, or actively tilting. This functionality can also be combined with the new Street View API for highly immersive mapping-based apps.
Game Services Update
You may recall that Google Play Services 4.3 brought Game Gift functionality. Today’s update changes the sending UI to allow users to select multiple game gift recipients for added collaboration and social engagement.
Wallet Fragments
Play Services 4.4 refines the preexisting Instant Buy API to reduce the amount of work involved in placing a “Buy With Google” buttin in your app. This is all thanks to the new*WalletFragment API, which allows you to simply configure the provided*fragments and add them to your app.
Mobile Ads
Finally, there’s a new set of APIs for app developers to display in-app promo ads. These new promo ads allow developers to target particular subsets of users, and only send the ads to users who may be interested in purchasing.

yea, i had to go back into location settings after updating the google play services manually, and go into location reporting, then had to redisable location reporting and location history(again).

also seem to change my status icon in hangout from green to orange when I am driving.
(a friend tell me that)

I suddenly lost the SYSTEM UPDATES menu under the ABOUT PHONE section. Anyone else seeing the same thing? Nexus 5.

Noticed that uninstalling this release will remove the System Updates menu. If I reinstall 4.4.48, it comes back. Don't want to run this release as there is a huge battery draining issue. Back to 4.3 and no System Update menu.

I can go back to 4.3 by uninstalling this release but I lose the menu option.

I uninstall it and then install the latest Play Store version (4.3).

yep, go to xda portal, download and install

The only thing I have had go wrong with the newest version is Swiftkey doesn't make the key press sounds anymore. Other than that its all good

I still get NLPCollector Wake locks with this, even with location history/reporting off, which sucks.

For the first time in months I have Play Services draining my battery. Also Google Search service is running and wasn't before.
Edit: fixed both by adjusting settings in Google Search.

Bluetooth and Spotify Issue

I am having an issue controlling Spotify when using Bluetooth in my Jetta. I can't skip tracks or control at all from my cars touch screen or controls on the steering wheel. Never had this issue with other android devices. Not sure what to do to fix but very frustrating! I have tried uninstalling spotify, forgetting and re-pairing the phone with the car....not sure what else to do. The controls worked only the first day I had the phone. Any suggestions?

It is a Spotify problem. I'm on version 6.5 and it doesn't happen to me. Check your version. Also go to apps and permissions in settings and give Spotify all the permissions.
If all that fails still go back to version 6.2 by finding and sideloading the old version from a site like apkmirror or something.

It's Spotify the solution is to downgrade to 6.2 from apkmirror.com, make sure you turn off auto updates in play store so you don't automatically get updated to the latest version.

I will say I was running the 6.5 beta and never had an issue and now that same beta is a real release, so as long as you set the permissions it should not give any more issues.
I know people were having issues with it not being permanent, but I haven't had it revert for me yet and it has been several days and reboots.

Google Assisant Update MM and N Update

didn't see a thread for this and I read that we're supposed to get a google update with assistant as a part of it. any news of info....POST IT UP

All I know is when you get it you'll see GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES updated in the Play Store. I'm waiting too

I got it today, I tried to open Google now and the tutorial starts. It's a little different interface than be before and it seems to work a little bit faster. Still messing with it.

My only issue is it will only read the latest text messages from Android messages (Google's messenger) and NOT from Samsung messages! ? I've tried everything I know... Cache clearing, restarts, etc... No joy. That's bullshirt

This morming i pressed the home for google nkw and it seems now i have goovle assistant. Now sure when my google app was updated. I tried what u said and it does read messages from my samsung messaging app.

last night my wife's s7 edge and mine both received it!

Install Google Allo from Google Store, now brings you Google Assistant. Just long press Home button to use it.

I guess because I *HAD* Android Messages installed it's trying to pull from its data base... I've tried EVERYTHING to get Assistant to read messages from samsung messages - and I'm sure there is a solution, but I sure don't know what it is
I've uninstalled Android Messages, cleared all the caches I can think of, and it STILL will read the last message reveived from my wife that was in ANDROID MESSAGES... even though I've received 5+ more thru Samsung messages... very strange. OH WELL.. I guess I'll fix it when I do a clean install again in a few days.

I just got the update. Pretty slick. I like it. I had an iPhone before with siri. Google finally caught up on the digital assistant front.

I got google assistant last night, one question about is there a way to disable the voice response while playing music or videos?

Paid apps Google Play Store not sync? x727 US ver

Question for x727 US ver:
Anyone got a problem that the Play Store Google account apps didn't not sync issue (All the purchased apps reset and needs to buy again when I tried to install) for this phone? Stock room, no root. s21 version
Tried with 2 different x727 phones, tried clear cache, clear Play store data....no help

Need to run the Le Eco setup app for some reason. You can also try to wipe data on play services I think. This was a huge compliant on launch week in USA. I forget the exact fix but many had this issue new out of box. Including me.

Also might want to amend your post in unlocking thread that you insinuate the unlocking broke your play store. Totally separate issue and misleading for new users will scare them about unlocking.

I rooted it and installed LineageOS. Problem solved. A bit worked to downgrade to S19 ver to unlock bootloader.... However, everythign is ok now

If you go back to EUI, just go into app settings and wipe Playstore data. Then relaunch it. Once you hit Accept to PlayStore terms/conditions, it'll sync you app data to it.

Nah. It didn't work, tried that. I tried couple other things and even called Google. No solution too.
Someone mentioned i need to put the sim card in but i already installed LingageOS.

This usually happens to me when I start my phone clean. It takes about 30 minutes before my apps seem to sync up and show as being purchased after putting in my Google credentials. You just have to be patient.
