So I went to update Google+, but no update showed up. I knew there was one I haden't installed yet, so I checked my list of apps and saw Google+ wasn't on there. I then searched for Google+ in the Market and it doesn't come up. I even went to the Google+ Mobile site and hit the Market link, and the page came up, but there was no install button.
I'm running GB Elelinux and I was able to install the old version from the Market fine, so I have no idea why it isn't working.
Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.
Exact same issue and phone. Don't really know what the actual restriction is. Would be nice to find out.
Have you checked your market settings? Maybe cos Google + is age restricted and your settings not set to show all apps ? Just a thought...

My age restriction thing is set to show all apps.
Unfortunately I have the same phone and same issue.
I have Google+ 1.0.6 installed but there is no update showing in the marketplace and the Android Market desktop site says that the 1.0.7 version is not compatible.

OK, I've not tried the one in the link but a mate sent me his APK for version 1.0.7 and it works fine.
If the download in that link is legit, it should work fine.
The Hero lives another day!
Interesting to see EVO 3D owners having the issue as well, it seems like a general Android problem as opposed to a "having a phone that's too old" problem.
I'll try the APK if I still can't get it from the Market after updating my ROM
2.0 from apk working fine aswell.
Google want us badly to upgrade phones
Hello,
I have the same issue.
I don't know if it's tied but once I tried VE 6.1 at dpi 140, and it worked.
What is your dpi?
and tell us if it works.
Thanks.
Don't use Google+ that often since its release, Twitter and Facebook are enough for me

I am having issues with downloading apps because every time I try to download an app on the play store it gives me this message when it starts to install. Is anyone else having this issue? And if so what have you done to fix it? I have searched this out and there really hasn't been much as far as results on answers that worked. I am rooted on MF3 and just recently in the last couple days started having this issue.

Same here. I can download and install apps of smaller size without issue. I don't understand why all of a sudden this has started to not work.
Try removing your Google account and readding it.

So many people complaining on Play Store about invalid package on so many apps. This must be some bug in play store.

Yea I did that as well. No go. I am starting to think this is something to do with the play store as well. It can't be my phone if lots of other people are experiencing the same exact issue at the same time.
Did anybody try to install apps from pc?

I have even tried to call google to ask them about the issue from two different phones and each time they couldn't hear me but I could hear them. Maybe somebody else could try contacting them about this issue? My mom's phone also has the "Package file is invalid" both on mobile data and wifi.
No issues here... just installed Torque free via web site on a desktop PC and Fancy via Play store app, over wifi.
I'm getting the same error. I can't install Chrome but I just installed swiftkey with no issues.

This is most definitely a Play Store issue. I am having this happen on 4 devices, 2 of which are tablets on WiFi and 2 are phone using Mobile service...no dice.
I have tried all the "fixes" on 2 of the devices to no avail.

Can't get NBA Jam to run either. Would love to play that game.
I can seem to play videos through the website but the app isn't playing any video. When I sideloaded it for the first time it was functional though. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hmmm, your completely right. I could have sworn I installed it via the Google Play store. One thing is for sure, it is working on my NP.
You may want to try this one (HBO NOW for Android TV) from APKMirror goo.gl/xrB1sp
Nevermind, just re-read your message and saw you tried the same version.
I can try to backup my version with ES Explorer, just not sure how to get it to you.

Man, I have been having issues with ES Explorer as well. I am using Mac and have been able to connect to the Player via FTP but it will not let me drag and drop APKs into any folder on the Player. It opens up the Player files in Finder but when I drag the files over, it has that circle with a slash through it meaning it's being prevented somehow.
I'm not sure how I'm going to get any APK on to this thing. I thought the Player had a USB port that allowed sideloading from a flash drive but it seems like I'll need a microUSB adapter for that too.
It's been a frustrating $25 spent, I'll tell you that much.
So this has been happen to me lately and I have no idea why. I just tried loading Focus for the first time and it asked for permission and when I try and click on allow, nothing happens but Deny works.
This happened with something else a week or two ago and I just tossed it up as an anomaly. Now that it happened with Focus it's definitely a problem.
I don't have any app like lux running, which used to cause a problem like this in the past.
I am completely stock, unrooted and on latest OS.
Do you happen to have the app Lux installed? If so, temporarily disable it.
I have exactly the same issue on my 6P. Several different applications and the same behaviour - deny works fine but allow doesn't do anything (seems like it can't even 'click'). I do not have any app called Lux installed.

WIth a bit of searching on Google forums I found that this issue seems to be related to a specific application using the 'draw over other apps' permission (you can check witch apps have this in the Apps Settings on the device) since the June 2016 updates. Apparently the updates included some anti-tapjacking changes which has resulted in some apps having issues. The culprit on my (and other posters on the forum) device was FileManager. Either uninstalling the app, or just removing the 'draw over' permission, resolves the issue immediately.

Yup, I also found that out by doing a Google search last night. I don't have Lux installed either.
Another work around is to go to settings, apps, then go into app that needs permissions and change the, here.
didn't see a thread for this and I read that we're supposed to get a google update with assistant as a part of it. any news of info....POST IT UP

Which app do I install for the Tmobile s7 edge. There are 4 different versions for different processors, I assume.

I got it today, I tried to open Google now and the tutorial starts. It's a little different interface than be before and it seems to work a little bit faster. Still messing with it.

Well I updated my Google Play services to the beta from apk mirror, several hours later Google assistant started working (legit. No hacks or mods)
My only issue is it will only read the latest text messages from Android messages (Google's messenger) and NOT from Samsung messages! ? I've tried everything I know... Cache clearing, restarts, etc... No joy. That's bullshirt

I guess because I *HAD* Android Messages installed it's trying to pull from its data base... I've tried EVERYTHING to get Assistant to read messages from samsung messages - and I'm sure there is a solution, but I sure don't know what it is
I've uninstalled Android Messages, cleared all the caches I can think of, and it STILL will read the last message reveived from my wife that was in ANDROID MESSAGES... even though I've received 5+ more thru Samsung messages... very strange. OH WELL.. I guess I'll fix it when I do a clean install again in a few days.
I just got the update. Pretty slick. I like it. I had an iPhone before with siri. Google finally caught up on the digital assistant front.
I got google assistant last night, one question about is there a way to disable the voice response while playing music or videos?
