New Charger or Contact Service Centre? - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone is just 8 months old. Earlier it takes normally 1.5hours to fully charge. But since 3days, it takes more than 6 hours to charge fully.
So, any indian guys/girls suggest me what should I do?
Should i buy a new charger for my Oneplus 2 or contact the service centre??
If you suggest me to buy new charger, then please provide me the real, gebuine and original ONEPLUS 2 CHARGER ADAPTER. I visited amazon but there are lots of confusing products so I'm asking you guys to please provide me full details.
Thanks.
Please help.

Did you try switching to a different ROM or Kernel ? If that solves your issue then the charger investment is not required. In the unfortunate event of that not fixing your issue, order the original accessories from Amazon India, to be sure to get original products, see that you are buying from the seller "Cloudtail" which is the official re-seller of OnePlus Devices & Accessories. Also consider, that maybe the battery could be at fault, the charger could be pumping enough charge but the battery is probably dying so it can't hold it, in that case you might wanna visit the Service Center, or get creative and do it yourself. Warranty Charger Replacement

Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me how on Eart I go about getting the charger replaced under warranty? I've registered my TF on Asus' site but I'm finding it difficult to raise a request for this. Basically, the plug on the end of the charger keeps coming loose and my TF only seems to charge intermittently as a result of this. The charger is a little bizarre in my opinion. Could have been built a little better and they could have at least given us more slack with the cable! It is painfully short! Thanks!
Vipergrm,
I called the customer service number here in the US (888-678-3688) and waded thru the many menus until I got to the TF people and told them mine had just quit working. They gave me an RA number to return the bad unit which they plan to replace. I had purchased a spare just in case and now i am using that one as my main charger.[they call that playing the odds] I plan on building a good one using a 12volt 2amp switching power supply. There is a thread on how to do that.
Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot for your reply. So they actually want the charger back before they replace it? That's a total pain. Is there no third party ones available anywhere? I can pay about £3 for an iPod/iPad charger but yet the Transforner is £25 for some reason. Probably the same in US dollars. Oh well. I'll try find a second one here in the UK. I suppose a spare is always handy. Thank you!

Mine died a couple of months back ..I called ...got a RMA ...sent it off and I got a brand new one sent to me. I had already bought a spare so no problem.
I believe (but don't quote me) a IPod/Ipad charger operates at 5 volts...a TF at 15 volts.....look up 15 volt chargers that put out 1200mA or more like on ebay...I'm sure your find they aren't the cheapest thing going.
For an alternative check out this thread....I have a simular one I made for a spare and keep the other extra TF one I bought in my travel case

Customer Service

Asus's Customer service SUCKS! Their power cable/adapter crapped out on me and would not work AT ALL ANYMORE for me, I contacted them and they wanted me to send it to them and IF they couldn't fix it they'd send me a new one. Any other company would send you the new one and youd send the defective one back but no ASUS makes you pay for the shipping there and you have to wait for the dumb f***s to fix it! Very unhappy with their service!
Did you try putting the charger in the freezer in a ziploc back for 30 minutes?
Yes I adjusted the prongs and tried the freezer thing and it still didn't work.
search devcakes thread and get the aftermarket charger Both ac/dc and doesn`t get hot
Paying for shipping is becoming pretty common. Newegg and other places require it for returns.
Most places give you the option of cross ship on warranty if your are willing goblet them charge for a new unit if it is not a warranty issue.

I found a OfficeDepot had the spare charger with cable for $30. Might check and see if the one nearest you has one in stock.

Warranty service issue.

communication is a problem but they eventually get it done.

I hate to break it to you, but... LeEco is dead in the USA and elsewhere. You won't be able to contact them at all. The company is on the verge of bankruptcy even in China.

You only hope is contacting the vendor that you bought it from and pursue them for the guaranteed 1 yr warranty exchange or service. I did this recently with Mailstop.
Just a few days ago , I read that these phones are selling extremely well. The problem is that they lost face in China and investors avoid them like the plague. Although Letv did pay off $15 million in debt just a few days ago. Next, they filed partial bankruptcy in China...not full. So who knows?
Good Luck,
FYI There are parts available and services available ( In India, Russian and Italy) that may be able to repair the phone if you can't get it exchanged.

Before you consider exchange, try another usb cable, most of the time simply getting another cable is all you need to do.
Yes, Amazon/MailStop replaced the phone with a brand new one.
Mine came with faulty usb cable that fried the usb card. Unfortunately this has happened on many Leeco phones, and it happens on many phones that never had any other OS installed other than the stock EUI.
I believe Amazon has changed their cell phone return policy. But, it they advertised the warranty when you bought the phone they will honor the warranty. Just call Amazon, be polite, explain that the phone will no longer charge, probably due to a faulty usb cable or low quality battery.
They will create a case, where they contact the vendor and give the vendor 2 days to reach you. Mail-stop responds quickly by sending a shipping label. Return the phone in the box in came in with everything that came with the phone, headphones, CDLA adapter etc.
They will send a brand new phone in exchange.
Worst case, if you cannot get a warranty exchange for some reason. Just buy another battery on eBay X720 and X727 have cross compatible parts.

My phone has always been stock emu. At first I had to restart phone or turn off to charge. Then a day later the port got hot and smoked and the connector was melted in the charging port. Luckily I was nearby. After removing the connector from the port with a pair of channel locks the phone worked just fine. I foolishly tried to charge again and burned another cord up. The phone still functions fine but port is dangerous and destroyed.

Charger port

Hello community.
I have a recently purchased 6t. Upon arrival of my new phone, I have noticed that when I plug in the oem charger, there is fair play (wobble) in the port. Everything works fine etc. Charging, it clicks in.
This concerns me because I am very anal about charger ports wearing down in the long term future and am always careful when handling my phone while charging.
Does any one else phone do this? Is it normal?
It makes me worry connecting the headphones to the port if I want too and putting the phone in my pocket which I haven't done yet because of this issue.
I have contacted oneplus but it appears they are ignoring me as I never heard back from them.
I have to add that I am a little upset with their customer support.
Hey, I actually noticed this problem on my 6T too, but honestly, I've gotten used to it. I have also noticed that it tends to be a bit loose.....which means that sometimes, not all the time, a little pull can take off the charging cable. The same goes with the dongle. It gets annoying, but I'm certain that it was a manufacturer defect. I haven't emailed or talked to OP in any way yet, but if we get a larger group of people complaining about this, maybe we can get something done.
PS. Let me know if your type C connector is a bit crooked when it's plugged in.
Mine was bought off eBay (I know, I know) .. it was my second purchase.. the first one was purchased from eBay and worked great until I had realized its IMEI was bad.. and I dont have time to try to go into fixing that. But I can replace a flex port charger cable. I could tell the different right away. I made sure there was no excess debris, etc.. but I cannot FIND A REPLACEMENT ANYWHERE except for in China, which would take a month if I used normal shipping for the 5-10 dollars that it should cost. If I want something that'll supposedly come quicker, it would at least be shipped in the US or Canada or even the U.K. China takes months to ship for whatever reason.. they want $30 just for fedex. There's another youtube guide about replacing it that seems to be a bit cheaper and honest about pricing, but still over the stop.. something with eBay. I can't find it anywhere. I'm literally just about to return the phone and give up on the OnePlus 6T ... since it isn't an LG or a Samsung Galaxy Swhateverthe****, replacement parts seem rare and very hard to come by.
If anyone knows anything, please don't hesitate to at least post in this thread. I'd like to get a charger that isn't chipped and barely working. If a file is transferring and I move the phone the slightest inch, you might as well forget it. For me it's not that it's loose.. it's just straight up defective. I wrote it off for awhile but I tried to recently contact the eBay seller about getting a replacement and haven't gotten a response. I was hoping he'd just have one he could swap out or even one he could send to me and that do me enough justice, so long that it works. Shipping from China is basically like asking for a bad cable all over again unless you use a major shipping outlet i..e Fedex, UPS, etc..
ANYTHING on this would be appreciated. This is technically still under the vendor's warranty but I doubt he has many of these. It's a Worldphone, dual-sim, unlocked.. I'm trying to keep this one.. even though I could do the same thing to my T-Mobile and grab a simple dual-sim tray.
Don't know much about this site so do your homework 1st before buying.

Which is the best place to repair a Oneplus 6T in London

Hello all,
I have been using a Oneplus 6T since last December. But from extended use of the Dash charger that comes from the box, my 6T's battery life/health has lessened. I have to charge my 6T at least once in order for it to survive the rest of the day and I only get 3hrs of on screen time without charging. The only issue with my phone is the battery, nothing else. I want my phone to last longer, so a battery replacement is needed. Because there are no Oneplus stores or official repair centre in the UK, people like me will have to send their phones through post to a repair centre in another country for their phones to be repaired. But this will cost time and is inconvenient especially if you only have one phone. There is another way which is to go to a third party repair shop in London that does repairs/part replacements for OnePlus devices, but I don't know which one is trusted especially for OnePlus devices and for battery replacements. Is requesting a repair to OnePlus the best option? Or is there another option? And will my warranty be voided if I go third party?
