Hello,
I do not find which version of Xposed I should install on 2.2.0 to have access on app permission ?
My Google Play Service is pumping too much battery, and I would like to remove some permission, as "keep awake" ....
If someone could point me in right direction ?
Thanks
To avoid battery draining from Google Play services, I recommend getting the donator version of Amplify.
With Amplify you can block Wakelocks and Alerts for specific amout of times.
There is a huge thread about this here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-extreme-battery-life-t3095884
Xposed does not give you app permission access on its own - it is merely a framework. As far as which version of Xposed the OP2 uses, install SDK22 for the ARM64.
Once you have that, download, install, and activate Amplify in Xposed, then go read the topic linked by @GerRudi.

Doesn't the oxygen ROM itself can manage app permissions in the settings?!?

Yes, and fairly well. Xposed apps DO give more control, though. Amplify, for instance, will let you delay wakeups to every 15 minutes or so, instead of simply turning them on or off.

1. Yes you can
2. Gravity box, x blast. Anyone of them.
3. Depends on the features you need.
4. Moto apps, Help app and every other app which you think is unnecessary but make a backup before uninstalling.

1. Kernel adiutor needs to be running to keep the desired settings.
2. Obviously
3. I don't know about it.
Moreover try servicely or amplify app to control wakelocks but use them with caution.

You will have to buy amplify through in app purchase for better support while servicely is free. Although it also requires in app purchase but there's a toggle in the app that activates the pro features.
Amplify shows all the wakelocks and alarms while servicely doesn't show everything.
But do use them with caution as if you block some system services the phone may go into bootloop or worst may not even start.
Take a backup before hand.

I just unlocked, rooted, installed viper, installed xposed. Now my contacts app force closes every time. Can't even open it. I have installed viper and xposed many times on multiple devices. This has never been an issue before. So I don't see those being installed causing it. I am completely stock otherwise. I tried wiping data and cache from app. Still a no go. Any ideas?! Thank you
Edit: I'm sorry I forgot I did install ElementalX kernel. Unsure how that would effect just my contact app
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA-Developers mobile app
ElementalX wouldn't cause those force quits, a kernel doesn't have influence over stuff like that. Xposed may be your culprit, what modules do you have installed? Do you have any themes installed?

I JUST booted up after wiping cache in twrp...success. although there is something going on because I've had to wipe cache to fix contact app FC, reboot to fix camera FC, and still haven't figured out why I can't open my downloads app. FC every time.

I would let the developer know in his thread, he may want a log. Just as a heads up, general rule of thumb when troubleshooting issues with Xposed installed is to disable modules individually then, if it is still not fixed, to uninstall it completely so that you can fully isolate the issues away from Xposed since it modifies a LOT of stuff.
not sure if it will fix it... under SuperSU app.... in the settings turn on "enable su during boot"... that usually fixes FC on my part
Hi folks,
I am on Imperium rom v16 and I am having delays in my stock dialer app especially when I dial USSD codes for credits check etc. I have 2 power saving apps running namely PowerNap and Greenify.
I disabled powernap but didnt fixed the issue but when I disable greenify the lag was gone
So please can anyone tell me exactly which option/setting in greenfy might be causing this problem?
P.S I am using greenify donation version with xposed and no system app is greenified whatsoever
Thanks in advance..

Greenify uses accessibility settings. Disable them and the lag will go away. Unfortunately Greenify won't work properly if at all, so you have to decide which is more important to you: no lag or battery life.
An article posted on the portal over the weekend talked about lag caused by accessibility settings. Greenify was featured.

Was hoping to learn what folks are using root for. I am using substratum but would love to have an advanced power menu but wasn't sure where to look. Would also love some ideas of what others are using root for, for ideas. Thanks!

Doesn't look like viper works for oreo either? So what yall do on oreo after rooting?
Tasker, adaway, root Explorer and deleting unnecessary apps?
There are a lot of needs...
And viper4android. But unfortunately I didn't install it (I'm used to use the Magisk module)
Anybody is running viper?
What are folks using for advanced power menu on oreo?
I was rooted on 7.1.1 for Substratum. I am on 8.0 and unrooted since Substratum works without root on Oreo.
Oreo, rooted.
•Magisk + testing Magisk modules that might work with Oreo
•RootExplorer
•Android pay
•Titainium Backup
•Light Flow + Light Flow legacy
•Substratum (legacy)
•Kernel Auditor
•Waiting on a working TWRP doesn't absolutely need root, but an unlocked bootloader, custom recovery and root seems to go together.
And whatever else fun I find to mess around with.
Root is a must for me. I like the full control of the device I own. And again, it's fun!

Yeah... I was going to say. Why root at this point? The only thing I can think of is doing a Titanium Backup so I can backup the apps WITH the data. I don't know of any app that can backup the apps with data of an unrooted phone, do you? Other than that... I dunno. What you think?

I don't want a phone that the vendor or carrier control.
I own it and I scold be able to do what I want.
The only thing on a phone that should ever be locked it the radio partition so they can control how the device accesses the network.
Other than that, leave my phone alone.
Greenify's best battery-saving features require both root and Xposed.
I also really like the GMS Doze Magisk module for battery savings.
And I never want to do without the ability to use EX Kernel Manager or Kernel Adiutor to squeeze some more battery and performance out of my device via scheduler and governor options. Some of the options for this phone (hexacore mode, adaptive low-memory killer) are pretty intriguing and can't be edited otherwise.

Your philosophy is flawed...
Xposed just being installed is an enormous battery drain in it's current incarnation...
You're better off without Xposed if you're looking for battery
