Hi guys. I bought an LG G2 VS980 from eBay 'perfectly working' but as i'm from Venezuela it took about a month to get here and then i could realize that the phone has touch screen issues. I had some words with the people there but eventually they closed my case so i got screwed with a bad phone.
Now i've heard that changing the Touch Screen (Digitizer) can be very difficult to do but i dont know if thats completely right so id like to see your opinions about this regard.
Should i change the touch screen and be advised that the technician can break the screen in the process or should i sell as it is?
Thanks!

Hi Nexus 4 Owners,
I got my phone in Dec,12 from the US and about last week the Touch Screen started acting weird. Jumpy, unusable and erratic, I cannot do anything since it keeps flickering, also the central strip on touch panel is dead. Tried rebooting and all other options but I guess its a hardware issue.
I just want to know if a lot of you guys have faced such an issue? Solutions?
Also, I have 2 options:
1) Repair it through the service center for Rs 5,250 to replace the touch panel. (Let me know if there are cheaper places in Mumbai)
2) Sell it as it is and buy a Nexus 5. (Need to know where can I sell since the touch panel is screwed)
Any help will really appreciated, since not sure if I should spend almost Rs 5.5k on a phone that's 11 months old.

Have you tried reformatting and reflashing stock?
And considering you bought it on Dec 12 don't you have 2 months warranty remaining? If your planning to sell might as well RMA and then sell.

Well, it was bought on launch day so I guess by the time I get it to the US from India, it'll be too late. I am using pure Stock since the start. No drops or other damages. Just one fine day it started malfunctioning, a friend of mine also had a similar problem so my main point is to know if this is a common occurrence and how have people resolved it.
http://www.reddit.com/r/nexus4/comments/1k4sfw/ - A thread for a similar issue that I found online.
Fwiw, sometimes my screen become unresponsive but I think it has more to do with the software than hardware at least in my case. Remember also, sometimes there are overlays on the screen which hinder the touch process...
Either way best of luck!

Try any 'Multitouch Test' application from PLAY and test every dot/area in the screen, see if there is a problem.
Maybe digitizer problem, the best way to replace it is with the whole screen, here is a original one:

It comes with the housing assembly.
Thanks guys. I have decided to get it repaired, paying approximately 95 USD to replace the Touch Panel/Screen from the official LG service center.
Bought a new G2 and it has a slight "problem".
The back of the phone makes a creak noise every time I have it in my hands.
I tried another G2 before and it didn't have this issue.
It's very annoying having paying for a new phone and then seeing it creaks.
¿Can the warranty fix this?
On the shop I bought it all they can do is send it to repair service.
¿Is it worth it or are they gonna tell me it's normal?
Thanks!
Nope, its normal. LG G2 back is terrible
Is this a common issue with the G2?
Does more people have this issue on their G2?
I was under the impression that everyone's G2 does that.. Mine started the first week of ownership.
Hello everybody, i've ordered a new screen for my g2 from eBay after my one has been broken on the phone. i'm paying for someone to tear up my g2 and assemble the screen and i'm afraid that the screen won't work and then i pay for nothing.. is there something to worry about? something that i need to know when he's assembling the screen on my phone? Thanks
Where are you from?
on that note quick question.
Can i use a sprint phones screen ona verizon phone ?
There looks like theres ink leaked inside of screen. The touch seems to work but i cant see anything just ink and lines. Someone can tell me what i have to replace.
Its not ink, its pemanent screen damage. You can buy a replacement off ebay but make sure you pic the right one. I recommend using the tot or kdz method to return to stock and call lg. They replaced mine fore free. I told them i was playing games while charging and it got hot and restarted with black lines on the screen. If you have insurance or warranty they will replace it.
Question. Which variant of the g2 do you have?
Were you rooted?
Did you have twrp, cwm, or philz recovery?
And what rom were you on?

Thank you mate best answer i could have got very in depth, wish i read earlier ordered one for £30 so not bad.
Oh and i was on cloudy D802 love that rom. However i went to get in my car shut the door, just as it shut my phone fell out of pocket and just like that. Just got this phone because last one touch screen stopped. Thankfully LG G2 LCD + Digitizer was cheap . Unlike Xperia Z which wasn't worth repair.
Bottom left corner of my screen appears to be coming off. The corner is unglued and when you press you can see it moving. At the left side of the screen it also looks like light from outside is bleeding in between the LCD and the digitizer.
Has anyone had any problems with this? I'd take the phone apart and fix it, but if something goes wrong, I don't have the budget to get it repaired or get another phone all suggestions are welcome.
I had this exact same problem, I took it for warranty repairs, they replaced the digitzer, but the new one also seems to be a bit lose in the middle part of the phone, as when I press it it moves very slightly, send it back a second time, they said it was normal, and only if it came of like the first time (the right corner) then i should send it gain to them. The guys form the shop (a very big shop in Romania) said it was a known issue.

I am waiting for a response on the warranty, if it's negative, I guess I'll have to start saving for a new phone screen, or at least the materials I need to try and fix it myself.
They have to accept it for warranty repairs if it wasn't dropt or smth like that, I'm also thinking of sending a complaint to LG on how my screen was repaired.
Never heard about this problem, probably the shop used non original parts.

It's a genuine G2 bought from a reputable source as brand new. Looking on reddit, I see I am not the only one with this issue.

So, just to post an update. The screen has been replaced under warranty, the phone should be here in a day or two.
Sweet.
EDIT: phone arrived today. New display (digitizer+LCD) and new front frame. Looks very good, and it does not protrude any more. I'm a happy bunny

I just read this post of yours, turns out, the same thing is happening to my phone. The corners are now solid, but the middle is letting go. *sigh*
As I am due to start a new job soon (hopefully), I believe I will have the phone fixed somehow and give it to my girlfriend, and I'll get myself either a G3 or the new HTC One M9, if it comes out by then. As I don't have the mental strength to fight with the service again, and stay without my phone for another week.

I know what you say, I didn't insisted with the service because it took them 9 days (the 2nd time I've sent them the phone for the lose middle part) only to say they won;t be doing any other repairs.
I will mail LG Romania to ask them for some explanations, seeing that it's not an isolated case, and after that I will file a complaint to the national organization for consumer protection which has been pretty efficient in the past.
If I will manage to resolve this issue I will post back here.
Thank you for your effort and response, and please do let us know of your results.
