Has anyone had to return a phone to Asurion that was rooted and they not accept it? Glass was OK but inside cracked and would not light up so could not unroot before sending. Did they try to charge more than the deductible after receiving the phone?
Thanks
Did you try what I told you to do? Hook up the mhl cable to a monitor so you could see the phone screen to triangle away and unroot. I guess not.

Thanks but you had to have told that to someone else. I should have thought of that. I don't know if they will. I just have not heard anything from them so far. It should make no difference to them. It being rooted has no bearing on the problem.
I've sent a lot of phones in for various reasons (clumsy) that were rooted and I have not encountered a problem.

Thanks that make me feel better. First time I have ever had to send one. Also first time I have rooted one.
They could care less.
You are paying them so if they did question it I would argue with them. You are right about not telling you about the mhl thing. Someone about a week ago posted the exact same thing. Lol.

Are they already coming flashed with MF3? I called in to get a replacment today hoping I would get lucky and get the previous build. I guess I'll find out tomorrow when it gets here.
I've seen a lot of people report that their replacements were MF3. I wish you the best of luck!

Its hit or miss...a lot are getting mf3 but there still seems to be a few MDL floating around that people are lucky enough to get
Good luck on the bright side at least safestrap is making some progress

Thank's for the info guys, and yea its nice that safestrap is making progress. I'll post back tomorrow sometime with the build that I get, hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones.
First of, nice user name. Im a fredrick (or frederick). Half the family spells one way, and half the other. Ok, back on topic.
My S4 came in 10 days ago, sadly with MF3 preloaded. So, it is definitely a possibility.

Right? Since I got into genaeology, I watch for other fredricks. Made it all the way back to 1692. K, I'll stay on topic now.
I got a replacement a couple weeks ago and it came with MF3 as well.

I've got a replacement coming tomorrow as well. I won't know what's on it until Wednesday though. Can I ask what you issues you guys had that led to a replacement?

In hoping for the same. Mine won't work when I plug external speakers in. Plus the music volume will spike when it's playing. I'm gonna check mine really fast when I get it for mf3. If it isn't there, I'm pulling the battery and downloading everything I need to make sure I never get it.

You don't have to do all that. If it is brand new, just don't put the SIM in. The device has to be verified on AT&T's cellular network before it pulls the update.
If it is refurbished, it may pull the update if it has previously been verified, but you will have 3 days to stop the OTA apps before it auto updates.
Rule of thumb, never turn the unit on with the SIM inserted before you know what's on it. If it has MDL and is a brand new unit, you can connect to Wi-Fi and do all your normal stuff. If it is a refurbished phone, connect to wife and see if it pulls the update. Again, you still have 3 days before it automatically updates.

Has anyone received a replacement device after the 14 days, if so was it a new phone. My phone started acting up the night of the 14 days. I went to the store that morning and was told the phone would be mailed as a like new device due to the warranty and since the phone is only 2 weeks, a new device will be sent out. I know this is not true but wanted to check with you guys.
I have to say it is way to early to start getting refurbished phones. Maybe 2-3momths in.

It will be delivered today and will post my finding.
So it was a refurbished phone, so I called the store and asked my did they wast my time and theirs bow making if 3 days past the 14 day return policy. They apologized and said they will exchange for a new phone in the store.
No idea what you are saying with all of those autocorrect errors. Yikes. You might want to consider changing to a different keyboard...
But if they are going to replace in store, that is good.

Hello everyone I am a tmobile customer and had a phone that was stock and got caught in a boot loop the tech said the motherboard went out on the phone. I ended up buying a note 4 that was factory unlocked for a good price. When I got the phone it turned out to be a verizon note 4 that was factory unlocked. I was expecting the SM-N910H not the 910v that I got. The phone has a sim slot so I put mine in it and can make calls but since I am not on verizon I dont want all the verizon stuff on it I am thinking I need to root it and was wondering if it is possilbe to flash a tmobile rom to the phone I am told the motherboards are the same in all of the note 4s not sure if that is true. I just want my phone to work as it is supposed to and since the retailer wont take the phone back or and refund me I am stuck with the phone and trying to make the best of it. I dont want a paperwieght so any advice would be appreciated. I am not sure how to proceed.
Thank you all in advance
The bootloader is locked on the SM-N910V and can Not be rooted.

So does that mean I am stuck? Nothing I can do?
You can return the phone. Otherwise there is no thing you can do.

Sadly, I agree.... unless you return the phone, you are stuck, bud.
So for those of you that did the trade in with your old devices, what did you send back? Besides the actual device that is. Did you send back the box and accessories too? Just curious.
To clarify I'm referring to Samsung USA trade-ins.

All I sent in was the phone itself. Made sure to factory reset it before hand. Got my confirmation email a while ago confirming trade in was successful and all is good.
same here factory reset, sent in only device, took 2-3 weeks for successful trade-in email to arrive.

how long did it take to get a confirmation?
It took about 2-3 weeks to get confirmation. But I ordered my phone from day 1. The process may be faster now that the phone has been out for a few months.
Sent in just the phones in their original boxes. An S8 active and a Pixel 3XL. Received confirmation and approval within a couple days. Maybe 3 or 4 days, maybe because i sent the original boxes, maybe i just got lucky...
2 to 3 weeks which went smoothly.
They received it on the 8th and this was why I'm asking. I also sent mine back in it's original box as well. Still waiting for them to confirm.
