Hello there,
I've noticed that plugging the phone into the computer will disable wifi on the phone? I realise it routes network traffic through the PC instead but this isn't a feature I want all the time, especially if the phone is busy doing something on the network, such as streaming internet radio. Anything like that will grind to a halt upon connection.
Is there any way to have some control over this feature?
A late reaction, but this is fixed in activesync 4.5 (There's an option on the pc side)
When connecting my MDA Pro II to my laptop the connection via bluetooth gets established alright and I can surf the internet for a few minutes. But then the connection breaks down, as the phone has switched off bluetooth by itself! I cannot switch it back on, and I will have to reset the phone altogether to start anew. Does anyone have the same problem or a solution? Thanks!
Same here!!!
Turn off Pushmail and other apps
Turn off any app that might use the NET.
I got so freakin' frustrated with this before I had a bright moment
(first one ever)
Turn of activesync, pushmail etc on your device, SPB GPRS monitor, any app that tries to connect.
Your modem function just can't stand that.
Hey,
I'm using an old iPaq as sort of a poor-mans NAS (yeah, I know).
Problem is, the wifi adapter goes to sleep after maybe an hour or so of inactivity.
Can anyone think of a utility that will run on a wm2003 device and connect to something on the internet automatically, on a regular basis?
I was thinking like, get a weather applet or something, but none that I found would connect automatically.
It doesn't have to be anything special. As long as it is actively using the internet on a regular basis. That'll keep the router from disconnecting.

Click to collapse
How about pointing IE at a web page that uses javascript to automatically reload itself?
i have sprint touch (WM 6), and i was wondering if I could dial my DUN on my computer not my phone.. Why does this matter... ill tell you...
i will have my phone on BT DUN in the car. I will want a way to turn on internet when i want traffic updates, or whatnot on my carputer, and then i want to turn off the internet, so a call can come in or whatnot... Normally i just go to internet sharing in the comm manager, and i click connect, and it dials and whatnot and my carputer is all hooked up. Its a real pain to go through all the menus though while driving, and turning of the internet, instead of just setting up a shortcut on the carputer, and clicking that and it will dial and everything... How could i make this work...
Would one option be to hook the phone up through USB, so it can charge, then run the internet through the USB, and still have the phone run through BT??? Im not sure, but is there anything i can do, and if any questions please post here.
can aynone helP???
Bluetooth's range is only around 30 feet. So unless you want to do whatever it is you're doing, it will only work in your garage/parking lot.
no lol, a BT dongle in the car obvisouly lol... wow..... and my phone has BT. So my point is i have a Carputer... in the car, and i wanna be able to dial my phone's internet, its WM, without going to the phone and doing this. That way i can have my phone in my trunk or W/e and still have Inet acess... As well as when i call comes in it can recieve the call, and for me to stop the internet dial...
bumpzdi
bump it up to the topz
nobody really knows/////>>????/
Something very strange...
I just bought a T-Mobile HD2, and I just plugged it in to my desktop to begin modding... Strange thing is, my desktop is having a hell of a time keeping up with the phone. I can never get a USB connection on it. I ended up having to do all the hacking on my Macbook Pro running Windows 7 in Bootcamp. So the issue is that when I connect it to my desktop which natively runs Windows 7, the phone charges, but Zune and the Mobile Device Center both report that the phone is not connected. And to make things even more aggravating, every time I connect the phone, my wifi connection on the desktop drops off. As soon as I disconnect the phone, wifi eventually comes back with some prompting. What am I doing wrong??
sounds like as screwed up machine to be honest
could be, but I've seen others with this same problem as well. If it is my machine, maybe someone knows what I can do to fix it?
