i have sprint touch (WM 6), and i was wondering if I could dial my DUN on my computer not my phone.. Why does this matter... ill tell you...
i will have my phone on BT DUN in the car. I will want a way to turn on internet when i want traffic updates, or whatnot on my carputer, and then i want to turn off the internet, so a call can come in or whatnot... Normally i just go to internet sharing in the comm manager, and i click connect, and it dials and whatnot and my carputer is all hooked up. Its a real pain to go through all the menus though while driving, and turning of the internet, instead of just setting up a shortcut on the carputer, and clicking that and it will dial and everything... How could i make this work...
Would one option be to hook the phone up through USB, so it can charge, then run the internet through the USB, and still have the phone run through BT??? Im not sure, but is there anything i can do, and if any questions please post here.
can aynone helP???
Bluetooth's range is only around 30 feet. So unless you want to do whatever it is you're doing, it will only work in your garage/parking lot.
no lol, a BT dongle in the car obvisouly lol... wow..... and my phone has BT. So my point is i have a Carputer... in the car, and i wanna be able to dial my phone's internet, its WM, without going to the phone and doing this. That way i can have my phone in my trunk or W/e and still have Inet acess... As well as when i call comes in it can recieve the call, and for me to stop the internet dial...
bumpzdi
bump it up to the topz
nobody really knows/////>>????/

I have a JJ have quite a few problems. Would be great is someone can help me out on this.
1. I use a plantronics bluetooth headset. People always complain that they can't hear me. I then turn the headset off and try holding the brick like a normal phone (the screen is on the inside). Yet again I get the same complaint that they can't hear me. PS - More than one person said that !! The results with the handsfree set that comes with the JJ are slightly better but not good for sure. Any way I can control the microphone volume. Enabling / Disabling Microphone AGC does not help as well. Any ideas?
2. I have a GPRS/EDGE connection. I would like to connect my laptop to the internet using my bluetooth dongle. For some odd reason, I just can't connect. I have been using that technique for ages with my nokia but for some odd reason, the JJ does not connect. I use the number *9***#1 and the required username/password. It complains that a connection to the remote computer could not be established (Error 616). Anyone has had luck with this?
3. The alarm system suxs big time. It is so weak n unaudible and I have no idea if anyone is able to use it in the first place. It even does not snooze properly. Can't I set my own tones instead of using the stupid tones that are provided by default? I want something that doesn't beep surreptiously so that I miss my meeting.
4. When my password protection is on and when I turn my JJ on, I usually end up pressing the "ok" key out of habit. The screen shakes and gives me a wrong password error. I have to dismiss the error to move on. Can I disable this alert? The screen shaking should suffice for me.
5. When I want to use ActiveSync over BT, I have to do a painful search of all ports to find the one which would serve the serial link between ActiveSync and my JJ. Is this process always that bad? Shouldn't this be automatic like the USB cable?
6. Is charging with the USB always this slow? The battery is really bad and one can't use the JJ for long as you'd surely run out of power. However, I do use my JJ as an MP3 player. In that case the battery does pretty well.
7. MY JJ wifi is useless as my network uses Cisco Extensions (LEAP). I do see these options on my JJ and the closest I managed to got to connecting to the wifi was that I could see my wireless network but connecting always failed. I wish there was a better connecting utility.
8. Speaker phone is bad. Compared to my nokia 6630, it suxs bigtime. I wish it were different.
JJ is a bad choice unless one got at it the PDC for 150$ IMHO. I still use my 6630 as the JJ does not match it and is soooo bulky. The only good thing about JJ is the screen. Thatz it. I hope people tell me things/features/tricks about the JJ so that I change my opinion.
And yes...
My Nokia 6630 has groups. You assign contacts to groups and then assign ringtones to groups.
I guess in JJ you can only assign a ringtone to each contact and there is no concept of groups. Now that is one painful exercise. Any fast method ??
Hi,
Just wondered, does the JasJar connect to EDGE? I know its a GPRS extension but are you getting EDGE speed on the Jasjar?
Also I think the number is *99# for dialing a GPRS connection over wireless modem.

Well nopes I guess I do not. AFAIK, JASJAR does not support EDGE.
Have tried *99# as well. Doesn't work as well.
Right people i need some advice, on my vario 2 when i use the internet over bluetooth on my laptop it works great until you really put it through its paces, i.e lots of downloading, page surfing then it will just disconnect and i have to reconnect the dial up networking and re-establish the connection before i can use it again. Sometimes i get get a message pop up on the device saying "Bluetooth hardware fault" other times i dont.
Has anyone else had this or is it time for my 5th replacement?
A am sure this has been asked before, but i couldn't find a clear answer.
1) What are the steps I have to take to connect my bluetooth enabled laptop to my 8125 so that I can surf the internet on the laptop? I have an unlimited data plan for my 8125.
2) What are the steps I have to take to use my 8125 as a wireless modem with a bluetooth connection to the laptop?
I have found different answers (set up the active sync and it should work, instructions how to use the laptop as a gateway for the 8125), but the answer to my questions above has so far eluded me.
Can you help? Thanks.
Once you find out....let me know....Ive been wanting to do the same thing.
its quite simple, turn on bluetooth on both devices and do a search for devices on your laptop, pair the two and one of the services from your phone should be dial up networking. select that, and it should i belive automatically set up a dial up connection, if not just create one with your blkuetooth device as the modem, and the phone number to dial wil be *99# that should be it, i figure you most prolly dont need a username/ password, and you would know if you had one or not.

Sounds simple....I think the info I was looking for was: Do I need a dial up account and/or a data plan on my cell phone?
I think they did away with the 5.99 T-zones.
So either its pay for a slow dial up account....or get raped by Tmobile for their internet plan.
Not talking about dialing into #777 to get to the internet. I want to connect to another computer using the PPC6800 as a modem only... this possible?
Can you be more specific?
You can:
1) share your moguls internet with another computer (internet sharing)
2) use another computer through the mogul (remote desktop)
i think he wants to dial into another computer, liek RDP, but to over a phone line (to a computer that doesnt have an always-on connection)
i used to be able to do it with my LG vx8100, but i cant figure out how to do it with winmobile, there might be a program for it
just to warn you, if its anything like the 8100 it will still count as a data call, so youll want a data plan so you dont charged a ton of money
the question isn't that difficult to understand. i don't know why it's hard for people to realize that there's a desire to call other numbers than #777.
He (and I!) would like to use the phone to call a NON-SPRINT number, ie, an ISP. or anything computer that has a real modem. (remember modems... them things we used back in the early 90's....)
the phone, by definition does voice. modems operate over the same voice connection. i don't see why it shouldn't be possible. to talk to a fax machine, all you need is the voice connection.
The question is how do you get the phone to operate as a REAL MODEM, not just a sprint gateway. you want the computer to see the phone as a *real* modem, not a network adapter. are there drivers for this? is there software (please no 3rd party ****) that needs to be installed?
I would love to use my mogul to receive and send faxes rather than have to pay for a land line. Since many business in the real estate still use faxes as the main form of communications.
Thanks
ok want to be able to instead of going to comm manager on my phone, inet sharing, etc turn it on... i want to create a modem on my windows computer. This makes it Tons easier for eitehr BT or USB connection. (espeically in my car!!! I have a carpc...) how would i go about doing this....... i have the HTC touch and i have a BT or USB connection. I want to be able to turn it on or off, so i can get an incoming call in my car... how would i do this!!!!????
is this possible?
i mean when i had my VZW phone, it worked fine, but now.... like if i make a modem dial #777, the phone does not show up as a modem?
so no one knows how to make the WM phones act as a modem.. I mean programs like PDA net do it.. but i just want to do it through the windows modem option (it will work w/ my car pc prog... like the #777 dial and stuff..
yes i also have have a PAM plan, so i am paying for the service...
my final thought was possibly, like install HTC modem drivers, and do not install activesync.. THen when it connects, it reads as a modem, then setup like #777, but whre do i get the modem drivers?
