For those who have RMA'ed their device, how long did it take Google to ship out a new one? Also, did you receive a confirmation email after you placed your order? I've contacted Google several times regarding the status of my order and they can't seem to find anything, even if I give them my order number. I have an authorized charge on my card and it shows up in my Google payments history, but doesn't show up in my order history. Should I be concerned?
I was in the same boat as you, I called and explained everything to them since it wasn't showing in my order history.
Anyways I gave him my order # and he eventually found it, said it was processing and that it would go out this week. It's there, you just can't see it for some reason.
As for how long to get it, no idea, they wouldn't change mine from free shipping to overnight so probably 1-3 days after it ships.
Thanks man. Every rep I talk to says that they don't see anything with my order number or my account. I guess I'll have to wait and see. Will be contacting them again come Monday or Tuesday if my status doesn't change

Believe me when I say it took about 40 minutes on the phone with them (a lot of which I spent on hold and/or on mute) while they looked into stuff.
I chatted in yesterday to get a replacement. Before I ended the chat I had the email to order a replacement and ordered my replacement. My order said it was going to ship on Nov 3rd but actually shipped yesterday! I was shocked mine shipped the same day. It will be here Tuesday

I was able to find my order, and it says pending. I clicked the link they sent me for the RMA and cancelled out of it instead of placing an order for a new one. Would you mind doing this to see if you see the same page? It still doesnt show up on my order history or email confirmation though. Did you happen to get any of those?

I didn't get either one but the rep assured me that it was being processed and that i'd get an email when it ships out.
If I don't see anything come monday then i'll contact them again and ask for an update.

Thanks, I will do the same and update this thread. I'm glad I'm not the only one at least
I finally got an email from Google confirming my order. Order was made on Friday, 10/30. Google reps kept giving me the run around and could not find my order even after giving them my order number. Last rep I spoke to told me Google was having problems with sending out confirmation emails for replacement devices. At least I got some ease of mind
One question. Do they send out a replacement device and you ship them yours back in a prepaid box or vice versa?

Would like to know this as well if anyone can offer insight.
I want to get a replacement unit but wanna compare it speaker wise to the one I currently have before I blindly send it back.

They do an advanced RMA, when the replacement device arrives you send the defective one back in the same box.

Awesome thanks.
Gives me a chance to compare the 2 devices.
If you RMA through Google, do they send you another brand new device, or a refurb? Also, do they make you send back the charger and stuff that came with it, or just the phone?

On my first post I talked about how difficult it was to have my EVO with screen issue replaced. The long and short of it was I talked to the RS manager. He didn't acknowledge my problem and sent me to Sprint. I went to Sprint. The rep said the problem was cosmetic and didn't interfere with the phone's operability. If I want it replaced that I'd go through the insurance process and pay $100. Early this morning I decided to go back to RS just return the phone, cancel my account and get a refund. The manager told me that Sprint's contract only gives refund under 14 days. I told him to show that to me on the contract. Of course he can't because there is no such thing. Then I said that the first time I came in he didn't even bother to check the phone's defect. Instead he said that he too has an EVO and there's nothing wrong with it. I said it's a light leakage and you can't see it over a brightly lit area. You have to go to the backroom and check it out. Then he said that he's not a technician. Later on he agreed to have it replaced as soon as stocks become available. I told him to put it into writing. He got one of those flyers on his desk, made a note on the back of it and affixed his signature. Then I said, "Will this do?" He said yes. I pretended that I was about to leave. He didn't move or said anything. Then I went back to his desk and said, "Okay I'm definitely returning this phone." He said, "Why?" I said, "You said this paper will do but you didn't even bother to get my number or write my name on this so called list." He became panicky, got some papers from his desk and said that he already have my name there since yesterday. Then I said, "Really? Then show it to me." Of course he can't show anything cause my name's not there. He said, "Okay, sir, what's your name and number?" I gave my name and number and he wrote it. Then I said, "Can you please put your promise on your calling card?" He got one of those generic cards with no name on it and wrote his commitment there. I said, "Put your name on it and sign it." He complied.
Now, can I trust this manager to replace my EVO? Can I rely on that piece of paper and calling card? Is this typical of RS managers?
why not try a different radio shack and see if you can avoid this mess
you're making this post because your intuition tells you he's full of ****. trust your intuition. no regrets. go!
Now I've been through some **** with Sprint and outside phone retailers ... some **** where I felt like I got the run around but this all sounds pretty weird dude.

edit: This is also why I wouldn't buy my phone from a "shack" these days, or many other places for that matter. We order our ish through sprint, returns/replacements handled with Sprint. Sprint service has been pretty decent so far. Apart from a dude selling my mom the wrong phone charger a few years back or when they activated / updated the wrong numbers, creating a few hours of confusion which was eventually just dismissed but was crazy. I hate going into stores, thus if it can be avoided it is.
That return policy might just be for radio shack...I work for a verizon retailer and we have a 15 Day return policy as well...the worry free guarantee for verizon corporate is 30 days. But no matter what, you can always get the district office number and call above that manager...judging by the way he's acting, someone needs to let his upper management know.
There is no excuse for piss poor customer service.

Return the phone and either get a new EVO or go with the Galaxy S.
I still would like to slap all these CS-reps going around telling people, "Oh, it's just a cosmetic problem, it doesn't interfere with the phone's operability".
I feel like yelling in their faces, "Did I buy a brand new product? Or did I buy a brand new product that said on the box that it might come with cosmetic damages? Which the **** is it?"
Any rep that tells this bull**** to customers needs to get fired. It is totally unacceptable that you are being locked into a 2-year contract with high monthly payments, only to get a phone where cosmetic damages should be accepted by the customer as being a normal event for a BRAND NEW phone.
Now bring me a CS-rep I can slap fifty times for saying such idiotic remarks. What the hell is wrong with these people? They are either seriously lacking in IQ and common sense or they are being sheeped around by upper managements and their internal memos.
/rant.
Find a number for a district manager and call them. I'm pretty sure that will get you some action.

I bashed and bashed and bashed RS online and out of nowhere they called me up and had me come in to replace my phone with light leakage with a brand new one. Since then, I have a completely different perspective of them.
Personally, I'd trust the manager. He wouldn't have gone through all this trouble if he didn't assume responsibility.
My opinion.
O bought it from Mac mall and it was running fine for a week And then this happened.

You don't want to contact Asus, ever..

I completely agree with the guys above, with it being brand new, get macmall to exchange it. It's just like taken an item that's DOA back to walmart and exchanging it for a different new one.
The RMA process through Asus will work too, but you'll have to send it to them, wait on them to approve the RMA. You can either authorize $200 on your card when you start the RMA and get another one shipped immediately and then have the charge refunded once they inspect your tablet and determine it's a manufacturers defect and not user induced, or you can just do a no money RMA, ship it to them, wait on them to receive it, and input it into the system, inspect it, then repair the damage or send you another repaired refurbished tablet.
I'm grateful for the RMA process, but in your situation you're better off just exchanging it for a brand new one if the retailer will do that for you, I'd at least give it a shot.

Just powered up my replacement tablet, and on a whim decided to check battery status. The replacement also has a Y01 battery. Went to the website and entered the serial number and it states that a recall is not necessary. Anyone else seeing this with their replacement?
I have this same exact problem. I called the recall support number, who told me to contact Nvidia support directly. They have now started a whole new RMA for the replacement tablet, nothing's been finalized yet. This is a huge pain in the butt.

Hello, This happened to me as well. Replacement tablet had the Y01 battery. Went the Nvidia site to file again and it stated that a claim is not necessary for the S/N. @runandhide05 also stated that not all Y01 batteries were effected by the recall. Thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/shi...-recalls-shield-tablet-due-to-t3169461/page27 post #267.
So, I think you should be ok for the time being.
How soon after filing the RMA did you get the replacement. I did mine on 7/31 and haven't received a shipping confirmation yet...

Submitted 8/1, shipping notice 8/11, delivered 8/17.
according to the Nvidia support there is nothing about any Y01 batteries being OK. Granted this was on a phone call from the support person in India (like, legit got a callback from a phone number in India). The serials of the replacement tablets were all listed as being ok, but some are shipping with old batteries. This stinks because the tablet I received appeared to be new. MY RMA with Nvidia is now waiting for approval, I will have to send back my recall tablet back (they didn't say anything about the original tablet).
Just called the recall hotline, and it's all Y01 batteries that are affected, so this one gets recalled too. Since I'm already in their database I had to send an email with a photograph of the serial number from the box.
gahhhh, I just got my replacement and it ALSO has the Y01 battery.

at this point I'm really probably going to avoid nVidia for any more purchases. My first tablet that I purchased had a screen defect. I took it back to the store the next day and got a new one. That new one had lag lag lag no matter what rom I flashed. I was so frustrated that I almost sold it. Then the 3.0 update came out and FINALLY!! the tablet was working as it should. Lag was gone. Woohoo....and then I found out it was recalled and so I powered it down while waiting for the replacement. Got the replacement only to find out it's also recalled....FFS....when can I actually use this POS. Thankfully my Nexus 6 is practically a friggen tablet.
I just received my replacement for the replacement...

well I can happily report that my replacement for my replacement has a B01 battery. I was nervous because the serial number on the device was in the recall range but after running the 3.1 update and checking...I'm good to go.

Guys, which way did you upgrade the recalled tablet to OTA 3.1?
I've been talking to Nvidia support center and they've told me that if you upgrade the tablet with the 3.1 ota recovery image the battery may be detected as Y01, and i have to restore to 5.0.1 and upgrade with OTA to 3.1, and then the battery will be succesfully detected... as B01 or Y01, i haven't tried it yet.

Well, but if i use a recovery image to upgrade my tablet to 3.1 it wont have to be rooted or modified, furthermore the first time i checked the type of battery was just after booting the tablet with no custom recovery neither supersu.
I just would like to check if someone else that has upgraded the tablet in the same way i did has also the Y01 battery.

Ordered a 16GB/2GB Moto G on 8/20. At that time, they were still showing as delayed shipping with an estimated delivery date of 9/8.
Went to check on my order last week. Still had not been built. For fun, I checked to see when a new one would ship, and to my surprise they showed being delivered on 9/4. Called Motorola about it and not one single rep had any idea what I was talking about nor what the status of my order was.
Today I get an email saying my original order never fully went through and they had to cancel it! They also said I had to wait 5 days before the credit would even be back on my card. I called and talked to a couple of reps, and none of them seemed to care.
Wow...Now I'm wondering about mine.
Ordered 8/26
CC has been charged (not Pending), Being assembled 8/27
Estimated Delivery Sep 3, 2015
No tracking # as of yet.
Order mine on the 8/23. It said back order as I was building my 16gb but still let me place my order. Next day got a email saying it was being made, couple hours later said it was done and about to be shipped. Then three days later I got a email saying it was a problem with shipping and that I can cancel my order and it wouldn't be here til the 9/8. Called and cancelled the same day I got the email then ten minutes off the phone got a email saying my phone was shipped and with tracking number. Got it on Monday........

Hmm I look the website and now it says if I order one today I can get it Saturday... Ugh Motorola your messing up with every phone launch. Funny thing is the 8gb is always In stock.
Finally its moving. I'm in order complete stage....Come On In Transit.
Mine was ordered on 8/26. Right away in status check it said Order complete. The expected delivery is 9/3. It has been stuck at order complete. I still have not received a tracking number. I chat with support every day, but they are no help. One told me a couple of days ago that the order had now been "exported" from their warehouse in Texas. Today I was told that it comes from China..so who knows!!

It won't be from Texas. They closed their plant there when Google sold out to Lenovo in 2014. According to a relative I had working there, it was mostly Moto X's that were built there anyway. I think Lenovo means "build cheap " in Chinese if history is any indicator.

Yes that's where all the Motorola phones are made. The us plant in ft.worth closed down in 2014. So it shouldn't be long couple days more before you get it.
Talked to order admin this morning. I was told that there is a parts shortage and my phone had not left China yet. I told him that this was really very inconvenient and asked what was Motorola going to do to make it up to me. He said he will send me a Boom headset.
Online status still says "order completed" and expected delivery 9/3/2015. I have still not received an email with any sort of update. The call center folk seem really nice, but they do not seem to have any authority do anything. I think they are employed to just field calls and email Motorola with comments.
I carry on waiting......
Oh now I'm worried!
I just ordered mine on Friday the 4th, i forgot to check the ETA but now the site says that a new one's ETA would be the 16th.
but my current phone is just not working which is why i ordered a new one...

Same order and delivery date for my white 16gb...but now that I know they come from China it does make more sense. I've never understood why, but EVERYTHING takes forever to ship from China. You can order something from any other country and have it in 4 days...China always takes about 2 weeks, bare minimum. I've even waited over a month!!
Supply issues SEEM to be resolved, though, so I'm hoing mine is on time...especially since it's an emergency replacement for my old, now broken, phone.

That's the main reason I didn't pay for the extra warranty. Even if I required the emergency replacement they promise, it may tale weeks to get the replacement.

This is why you opt for faster shipping. It took mine 4 weeks to clear my bank account and be shipped.
No they are not running the tightest ship over there at the China facility. Pardon the pun... this has been my experience so far:
Ordered mine on 8/27 with a 9/4 delivery date. Fri 9/4 comes and nothing... I called and the order had not shipped, as if they made the phone and just forgot to ship it. I called customer service and they gave me several "very sorry"s in broken english and said it would go out immediately and emailed me the tracking #. The email said 9/11, but the Fedex tracking # indicates tomorrow 9/9, so I don't know what to think. Hopefully tomorrow.
*Point of my post is this- if you don't get an email from them w/subject "Your order has shipped", "3 We Sent It, Your Moto G - GSM Unlocked has left the building!" approx 3-4 days before your delivery date, call them up and check on it- it might just be lying around not shipped like mine was.

Backorder issues seem to be resolved. Ordered my white 16gb Saturday afternoon (9/6). It was charged immediately, marked as being built within 3 hours, and it was just updated with tracking, and the tracking is marked as picked up (Weds morning, local time in Shenizen). Not bad....3 day turnaround for a custom assembled device is decent...now I hope shipping doesn't take forever!

Mine was delivered about an hour ago.
Less than a week since I ordered it. very impressed.
Purchased phone at launch on 11\1 (which I usually never do)
Arrived 11\6 and set up 11\7.
Had some software issues with visual voicemail... Got it fixed.
Dash charger wasn't working, determined it was the power brick... Resolved.
NOW as of about an hour ago, my front camera won't activate!! Noticed it during a duo call...
Figuring it was the app, I cleared storage\cache and un\reinstalled. Did the same with Facebook messenger. Did it again for camera app... Nothing.
Factory reset .. nothing.
Tried to use regular camera, still wouldn't activate front camera... Rear camera works fine.
Called OP and informed them, they tried to get me to perform all of these same steps.
I'm frustrated and want to just return the device to OnePlus, and I can't because there's a 15 day return window and I'm on day 16.
Instead, they want me to email my camera logs, see if there's a software glitch, then possibly set up a remote session, then if all else fails to send them the device for repair and wait for them to send it back.
Phone is bone stock straight from OP, no spills or drops... Just used the camera last night.
I'm so annoyed and now I wish I'd just bought it from t mobile instead of OP. At least I could go into the store and complain and make them replace it on the spot.

I feel your pain, I went through the whole RMA process way back with my +1 They really shouldn't mess people around like that, sounds a lot like quibbling to me.
Now you can buy it through 3rd party sellers , there's no way I'd give up all the consumer protection you get in the UK/Europe. I'm only willing to buy accessories from them directly.

Yeah, they are strict to the 15 day window... You're out of luck with a return. I had one and returned it, just wasn't for me. It was a downgrade from my current phone that's 1.5 years old.... Sad really.. But one+ is heading the right direction I guess.... Well, minus the part where OOS 9 introduced a security flaw... Oopsies One+
how did you get visual voicemail working again?

After deleting the T mobile app, and several restarts, cache and data clears, the OnePlus built in VM started 'kind of' working. Like 80%

After much calling and complaining, because I've had other issues, they agreed to let me return the phone and they are supposedly going to cover shipping costs.
They can't guarantee my refund to be a full one, and say it will take 14 days for my money to be returned. I side with my credit Card through PayPal and will file a charge back if they attempt to withhold my full refund. In the meantime they're seeing if they can figure out\resolve the issue.
If they can figure the issue out in a timely manner, and it doesn't require me sending the phone in for a repair, then fine I'll let them fix it and keep the phone as I really like it.
If I have to send it back for repairs, they can keep it.

Here in the US you could buy the phone from t mobile, but I got a better deal with OnePlus.
T mobile wanted 549 plus tax for the base model. Plus an activation fee of 35 bucks.
OnePlus I paid 550 for the middle model, no tax, no shipping, no activation fees because it just takes a sim card.
Only way to mobile could beat that is with me giving them my old device, and it's my only backup (using it now) so I wasn't comfortable with that.
Should I try again? Ask for a replacement vs a refund? Or just take my cash and go get a Samsung?

Btw, anyone know what this means.
If you test the front camera from *#808# menu, this is what happens.

Hellow!
I have the same problem.
Have you solved the problem with the camera or returned the phone?

I had same problem. Had to send the phone to OnePlus. They told me it was a software issue and returned the phone to me in few hours with problem fixed.
Never got it resolved. They said they believed it was a hardware issue.
Attempted to return the phone but they mase it a hassle so I ended up having to file a claim with PayPal and my CC company.

I needed a phone in a hurry so I bought it on release day from T-Mo. I was told on the phone that they only had the base model. I thought I was paying $50 more for the base model but when I looked at the phone I saw I had the 8/128gig version. Have you checked in settings to confirm you have the base model?
I didn't get the t mobile version
