New Helio X20 Phones due end of September - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What do you guys think about this 10 core processor? I've been reading it beats up the 820 and Samsung's processor as well. From my understanding it will be released by HTC and Xiaomi at the end of September. Xiaomi having 4GB RAM, are you tempted at all? It sounds next gen. I love this phone, truly I do, but its specs are hardly next gen, just spec bump...

How much $$ cause right now you can't beat the price for the value your getting from this device. How much more power do you need I havent found any sort of bottle neck with the current hardware... Plays every game lag free. Runs every app I have used smoothly. No need for it at this point in time.

Right now it's speculation. I've read $400 and I've read $600 we will find out soon though.

X10 isn't any better than S615, I'm talking about x20.
Sent from my XT1575 using XDA Free mobile app

That would be cool. Pair it with 64-bit OS and Samsung's new 6GB RAM, and you'll have a beast of a device. I'm not convinced it is totally necessary though.
ibtl, btw.

Nice article: Bionic vs thunderbolt vs iphone 4

This is a good article... looks to me like its the bionic ftw...
http://www.gizmocrunch.com/mobile/5476-verizon-iphone-motorola-bionic-htc-thunderbolt
The Bionic would be nice, except for the locked bootloader. I will not be buying a single Motorola product in the forseen future. And I know 100+ devs that are doing the same.
the htc thunderbolt is looking pretty sick, especially since it can be customized so much. the iphone 4 is the clear loser.

Save your money, these phones will be a thing of the past when Tegra 3 Kal-El comes out, Qaud Core is where it's going to be at by the end of the year (so they say). Not to mention that it will give software time to catch up with multi thread cores so apps and such can start to take advantage of it.

Really Cool Tech News!!

Not really related to the Samsung Epic, but some really awesome news I couldn't pass by.
http://androidandme.com/2011/02/new...-quad-core-cpus-in-android-devices-by-summer/
Expect some pretty sick tablets this summer =D (just telling those who were considering one)
Also, expect this for phones too by Christmas!
Looks like Q4 of 2011 will be something really spectacular.

The problem with the SOC market is their business model of planned obsolescence which we (tech nerds) allow to continually give us the reach around.
its an old article..seen it before....but I also cant wait..
to note though dont let the benchmarks fool you too much..if you visit coremarks website:
Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU 330 1600 - SCORE: 9049.77
Intel Core i3 CPU M 380 2530 - SCORE: 19543.40
And remember the AMD E-350 is very low power and is almost as powerful as a core i3...
I was soo against tablets, especially since they they had the same specs as my samsung epic. But this could be good news for me playing TF2 on a tablet. I may have to get one.

By the time a quad-core comes out, the six-core will be out. They kinda rushed quad core though, dual core didn't even last 6 months. LOL

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Well chaps, I know I didn't post that often, but I did frequent these boards regularly, and I've finally sent my Hero off to the great bootloader in the sky (or envirofone for a £30 cheque).
So just saying bye and I may see some of you on the SGS2 boards. I did intend getting a Galaxy Nexus, but the best contract with a free handset I could find was £42.50 a month for 24 months, and I sure as hell ain't paying £1020 for what is essentially an SGS2 with ICS on it.
It served me well, did my little Hero, but 528mhz compared to 1200mhz, and 288mb of RAM compared to 1gb simply doesn't cut the mustard these days.
So yeah................bye!
A galaxy s2 eh? H'm, I think it's about time I upgraded too.. goodbye sir!

I was thinking about holding on a few months for a quad core phone, but I ran a logcat on this phone, and its used both cores about 3 times in the month or so I've had it. Android very rarely uses even dual core. But as each core essentially runs at 1.2ghz, I'm a happy chappy.

Samsung Galaxy III "Leaks"(Might be the real thing)

For those of you interested in the Galaxy III, here's a leaked video which shows it. I didn't see a thread about it in this section, unless I'm blind(Or if it was deleted).

No it's not It's either the Galaxy M / Galaxsy s2 plus Samsung has bashed it already
the specs are what i expected... the only question is ... pentile or no pentile? keyboard or no keyboard (on Sprint)?

Its the s3... I doubt they make a sgs2+ that's stupid. This isn't bad spec wise anyways... this sounds more realistic. 2.0ghz quadcore exynos and 2gb of ram is a little to much hype. 1.4ghz quadcore and 1gb ram sounds just about right.

From my experience, Samsungs may "feel" cheap, but they are more rugged than any HTC friends and family have had. Sure those thin metal accents look and feel nice in your hand, but I know too many people with their HTC's having chunks of their phones missing, scratches, and dings. I've dropped my phone a few times and it still looks like new with no sort of extra protection.
As I tweeted about this last night, whoever at Samsung designed the Touchwiz UI for ICS needs to be shot. Then fired. In that order. That is the WORST looking UI on an ICS device :\

So I wanna buy a laptop. I want to get the best I can have that will do good with android work and cost up to about $300. I don't really wanna spend more for a laptop. And I don't wanna have to order it online unless that's the only way to actually get it. So if its in a well known store that would be bettter.
Anyone have any suggestions?

You'll need something pretty beefy otherwise you'll spend all day compiling one rom. Recommend amount of just ram is 16gb for compiling ics. Just look around the interwebs. I'm sure you could find something decent.

The first one is better. Its almost the same gpu as mine buy I paid more for mine and its at a higher clock speed and better model gpu. It should be sufficient.

I've been told (by a friend) the AMD APU's don't play that well with Ubuntu.
Could have been user error, but IIRC he said he found a good bit of people having trouble online..
