[Q] What is your FCC ID?

I'm curious how many hardware variations of the Defy exist with distinct FCC ID numbers. This would be a good complementary thread to the one with all the different 3G fix files.
So please state 1) the carrier you bought your phone from (or if not a carrier, the site you bought it from), 2) the network you use it on (if not the same) and its 3G frequencies, 3) The FCC ID number behind the battery of your phone. If there is no FCC ID, then any other numbers you can find.
If your phone has the same info as another already posted here, no need to re-post.
I don't own a Defy but let's start with the info stated here:

(not sure which bands on the latter two, had trouble finding the right testing docs)

Aha, good to know.
If the T-Mobile USA version (IHDP56LC3) has 850/1700/2100, it seems odd they'd have (presumably for Telstra) a hardware variant which is the same minus 1700 (IHDP56LC2). I wonder if this is genuinely different hardware or if they just fail to list the AWS band in the FCC tests?

Agreed, it's seems odd that they would have 2 different hardware variants with the difference being only AWS. Guess the only way to test would be to have someone with a IHDP56LC2 Defy flash the USA fix and come over to the US to test.
This would all be easier if manufacturers started using the penta-band chips like in the Nokia N8.

Well, I have seen (on this forum?) pics of the US Defy running 3G on AT&T using the 850. If true, and the 2100 works in Europe (it does, BTW) then anyone would be seemingly better off with the US version.

Well, *anyone* but:
- Customers on global carriers who require the 900 MHz band for good 3G coverage
- Customers on any carrier that has significant 1900-only 3G areas
Which leads to a question - can anyone here confirm they live in or have occasion to visit an area where AT&T's 3G coverage is only 1900 MHz, and no 850? You can verify this by bringing your Defy as well as a phone that does have 850/1900 3G, and seeing if you get 3G on the other but not the Defy.
If you can set up this kind of situation - take a nandroid backup of your firmware, and then try applying the "3G fix" for 850/1900. Is your phone now able to get 3G on 1900? If yes, then the bands are entirely software-controlled; if no, it's the hardware.
Or to the Australians out there with a Telstra Defy - do you have access to an Optus SIM card? Can you test out the Defy in a 900 MHz-only Optus coverage area, and then try flashing the "3G fix" for 900/2100... is your phone now able to get 3G on 900?

I live in Madagascar, after flashing US 3G fix, i've got 3g at home now. Before fix, in rom 3. 4. 3-11, i always don't have at home. But, oh yes there's but, the network signal is very poor. And i've lost it many times.
My Fcc id HDP56LC4.
Now i'm in 900-2100 fix and everything is right but in Edge lol 2G.
My carrier is Telma, 900 for Gsm and 2100 for 3g+ (Hspda). I've signal and 3g+ connection when i leave home for office, in the city.

Hello I have purchased a Motorola Defy from e-bay off of kick mobiles in the UK it was already unlocked the FCC ID is :IHDP56LC4 900/2100(2.2.2) and I had it shipped to Canada..... much to my dismay it does not work on our basebands here..well it does on GSM 2G...anyway I found a Canadian one from Telus so i bought that one too and it's FCC ID is :IHDP56LC1 850/1900(2.2.1) hope this helps

I'm confused. When I go to the phonescoop page and click on the different FCC IDs IHDP56LCX where X is 1-4 the only one that is different is 3 where it has the 1700 band in addition to the 850/1900/2400?
I'm looking for a phone with hardware to support 850/1900 3g. can someone point me in the right direction?

If you want the one with 850/1900 3G, it's the one sold by Telus Canada, or in certain Latin American countries.

It seems really tough to pick up a defy with specific hardware because a lot of phones on ebay anyway are tmobile which apparently is 850/1700/2100 and could work with att but will not have the 1900 band or mb525 which is the international version which doesn't work with att?

1. Bought from Germanos Romania (Cosmote - OTE owened)
2. Used with Vodafone (900, 2100 MHz)
3. FCC ID: IHDP56LC4

I have one Defy+ and the FCC ID is For IHDP56LC2, i switched basebands and i can connect to 850/AWS 3G bands, i'm looking for a compatible 1900mhz radio and baseband, i tried to change baseband but defy stays in Only Emergency calls.

The ONLY reason for the baseband switcher is to fix firmware files that are meant for the wrong variant. The ONLY baseband you need is the one intended for your hardware. Nothing else will give you better results. The hardware cannot under any circumstances connect to bands it's not compatible with.

No U.S. LTE on this one (as expected), but that's good for those of us who hope to use this on our Unlimited MediaNet plans.

I think...the N7100 version is the one everyone is waiting for. At least I am.

N7100 vs N7105
I really have no idea but it appears the N7105 is international version with no LTE, at least that works with ATT. The N7100 is the model number with LTE that will work with ATT. Is this true? Negri Electronics is selling the N7100, the spec says "4G Network LTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 2100". Does this work with ATT 4G LTE? Is this the model, if you want LTE, to buy?
I preordered from Negri a week ago, but definitely want LTE in U.S.so keep order or cancel? Many websites reference in specs LTE but others call for 2 models....anyone really know. Clove U.K. simply calls device Samsung Note 2, no reference to N7100 or N7105. It clearly doesn't show in specs 4G LTE, only 3G.Handtec (U.K.) calls out phone N7100 with the following spec:"3G: HSPA＋ 21Mbps (HSDPA 21Mbps / HSUPA 5.76Mbps) 4G LTE: 100Mbps/ 50Mbps (HDSPA 42Mbps / HSUPA 5.76Mbps)
So which is it? Does anyone know?

It should work because ATT operates Lte on the 1700 and 2100 bands.

Yes... Same with Bell Canada LTE 700/1700/2100.
However what's confusing me is reading from the verge preview is the n7100 didn't have LTE.
Gsmarena also states this and list LTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 2100 - N7105.

That's the problem seems to have conflicting opinions, like no one really knows.i just asked Negri electronics ans this is what he wrote:

Ya... N7105 from my research looks like its the Lte version thats compatible with att and bell Canada. I'm going to wait till 100% confirmed.

Thank you for the summary. I was trying to find a clear answer on this all over and this is the only place ive seen it sumarized. Im looking to get a moto x for tmobile, but I wanted to make sure that it had 1700 HSDPA. It seems only the dev model and the t mobile version do.

Thanks for posting this. I am quite sure the Rogers version supports the exact same LTE bands as AT&T. I know for certain it supports band 4 as that is what I'm using mine with.

I found this info in Rogers website. Is it a mistake?

I don't think its a mistake, its just that Rogers only lists the bands they actually use, not the bands the phone supports. I'm surprised they claim LTE band 7. While Rogers uses it the FCC data for the phone doesn't list any approval for band 7 that I can find.(yes Rogers is in Canada but our approvals generally follow the FCC info)
I figure that the way Motorola differentiates between the bands supported would be the model number, such as XT-1058.
This is why your table is so valuable, the info is very hard to find. I'm not using my Rogers Moto X with Rogers, just like many others want to buy a Moto X for another provider so if you can get the info bang on it will help many people.
edit - did more research and I'm very confident the Rogers Moto X supports LTE bands 2,4,5,17 - the same as AT&T's XT-1058 as the FCC ID on the Rogers phone is the same as AT&T and Motorola's own test reports list LTE bands 2,4,5, and 17.
edit #2 - I looked up the Canadian certification, there is no 2600 mhz in the Moto X.

Just talked to Rogers customer service. Here is their answer

That is great that Rogers thinks its a 2600mhz device, but it isn't. The iFixit tear down found no 2600 mhz hardware, the Industry Canada certification has no request for or approval given for 2600 mhz and the FCC certification has no request for or approval given for 2600 mhz.
So no matter what Rogers says, there isn't 2600 mhz support in the XT-1058.
The only way its possible is if Motorola put different hardware into a phone with the same XT-1058 model number(not gonna happen) and if they didn't bother to tell Industry Canada or the FCC that it was present, in which case they will be a in a lot of trouble very soon.

I dont know why Moto make so hard to find the LTE bands Moto X supports. But I have a XT1058 that I bought in Brazil and use in LTE band 7 (2600 mhz) . This same model is for sale in Claro Chile that uses LTE band 7 also. My phone is assembled in Brazil but it has FCC ID IHDT56PA1 Type M0DD7.I don't believe Moto uses a different hardware with the same model name.

The model info is available on the Wikipedia Moto X page. It clearly states which model is capable of which frequency/band there.

OK, I finally found information from the FCC that confirms the XT1058 does in fact have 2600 Mhz Band 7 LTE. However it is not approved for use in the US. The normal AT&T firmware has the band disabled, however someone has confirmed that the AT&T 4.4 leak has it enabled(Likely an error).
The Rogers XT1058 should have band 7 enabled in firmware however LTE band 17 is disabled.(700 mhz)
The IC (Industry Canada) certification is all messed up and doesn't indicate the proper bands the phone supports.

One correction...I don't think Sprint has a 32GB version.

Very interesting. Looking to pick one of these up from rogers and use it on telus. Wondering if Telus has band 7 lte 2600Mhz. Or is that JUST rogers? Im hearing that buying from rogers and sim unlocking will only get hspa+ on Telus. Anyone confirm or have a clear answer on that?

Telus does not have any band 7 LTE, however they do have band 4 LTE (AWS band) and it works great with a Rogers/Fido Moto X that has been unlocked(8 bucks). I have two in front me to prove it works!

I understand that rogers has band 4, 7 & 10 for LTE, I'm running the at&t 4.4 firmware on my rogers moto. I'll confirm if I do receive LTE with speed test
Confirmed LTE works download speed 58 MB/s.
As for telus, I can't tell but I do see chatr as available under mobile networks same for bell and telus

VZW XT1060 is bands 4/13 not just 13. Basically it works on VZW LTE and T-Mobile and AT&T as well.

SM-P605 LTE WHITE 32GB - Arrived Yesterday

I got it! Woooah baby this thing is nice! Feels like the best gsm device on the market to me. I grabbed it on ebay, $831 w/next day shipping. Wifi internet is fast. Tmobile gave me a sim and its registered on their network but they cant figure out how to get it connected yet, they have a trouble ticket out on it. Just trying to get the 200mb free for now. I have wifi tethering on my phone and 2.5gb for it at the moment.

Assuming the N10.1-14 you purchased is the international version it'll never get LTE because the SM-605 doesn't support U.S. LTE bands.
You'll be able to use it on HSPA in T-Mobile's re-farmed markets that support the 3G 1900MHz band. It will work on AT&T because it supports all of their GSM bands.

I have a SM-601 and had a N-8000 before that - both on AT&T. If you want to use the phone and messaging features you need to have it added to your plan as a "phone" not a tablet. I have it on my AT&T plan as a non-Smartphone with unlimited data for $10 a month. AT&T doesn't recognize the IMEI since it's a foreign device. The 601/605 both support up to 42MB down on HSPA networks. T-Mobile uses dual-channel so you can get (theoretically) 42MB down on their network, AT&T's limited to 21MB. I typically get between 5-8MB down on AT&T which is considered high-normal. I think T-Mobile does better than that on HSPA. Neither the 601 or 605 support T-Mobile's 700MHz AWS band so the only way to get HSPA+ speeds is in markets they've re-farmed to 1900MHz. Your local T-Mobile office can tell you if your area has been re-farmed. The problem with 1900MHz is that it and other higher frequencies don't penetrate walls well so indoor reception can be challenging.

There's no mystery. Either the P-SM601 or P-SM605 will get 3G on AT&T and on T-Mobile in markets they've re-farmed to 1900MHz. If you add either device to an AT&T Family Share plan it's now only $15 a month including unlimited voice and MMS since you're "bringing your own."

Thanks for the confirmation. Our wireless account is on Sprint, so if I went this route it would be a new account, but I do have friends on T-Mobile so I might be able to join them.
According to the T-Mobile plans from a year ago, San Diego was supposed to be re-farmed this past year. I suppose it would be nice to know that was done, and that someone has been successful getting the device connected.
I'll probably wait until after CES to see if there are any new announcements.

The Indian model should be SIM unlocked, but it might be locked if you buy it through an Indian carrier (I don't know how it works over there). The Indian model has Quadband GSM, Triband HSPA, and LTE 1, 3, 5, 8, 40.
In the US, on AT&T you'll get 2G (850MHz and 1900MHz), 3G (850MHz), and in a few markets, LTE on Band 5 (which is also 850MHz). It's missing AT&T's primary LTE band 12/17, as well as LTE bands 2 and 4, and 3G on 1900MHz.
On T-Mobile, you'll get 2G on 1900MHz and that's it. It's missing 3G on 1700MHz/2100MHz and 1900MHz, and LTE Bands 2, 4, 12.
It will not work on Verizon or Sprint at all.

Ok.. what would you suggest me ?
Return this phone back and buy a new one in US ?
Or are there phones that I can buy here which will definitely work in USA ?

The US model of the G4 Plus has Triband CDMA, Quadband GSM, Pentaband (five-band) HSPA, and LTE 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 25, 26, 41. It'll work on all major carriers, although some prepaid carriers do not allow unlocked phones as part of their own policy.
Compared to the Indian model, you're missing LTE Band 40. If Band 40 isn't important to you, get the US model.

The problem is, I dont have a smart phone right now and i need one.
Let's say i buy the indian model right now. N assuming ill get AT&T sim in US, my phone will have phone calls, messages, 2G, 3G and WiFi right ?
Because thats all i want really. I'll be ok without 4G (dont need it, 3G is enough for me) .

Yes, the Indian version will work on AT&T US on 2G and 3G for calls/texts/data and WiFi for data.

Did you get Moto g4 in India? Did it work in USA?

HI ... I am facing same issue...
I brought MOTO -G4 plus from INDIA and currently I am in USA and using AT&T service.
I can only access 2-G network.
Is there any solution so that I can use 4-G network here ??

I am also having the same problem. Did you find any solution?
By any chance, manual installation of Nougat usa release fix the problem?
