[Q] vs980 unroot questions - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, I just got a g2 from ebay and noticed it had a touch screen issue.
So I rooted it and tried to see if I could fix it. Well I couldn't so now its getting sent back.
I want to undo anything that may concern the seller. I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 but wanted to confirm this is the right thing to do.
I rooted with stump root
I posted screenshots of my phone info.
Not sure if I need to supply more info, let me know.
I just want the ebay seller to be happy so I get a replacement or refund.
Thanks in advance!

Unlocked boot loader replacements

For those of u who got replacements from HTC with an unlocked bootloader, did you guys tell them it was rooted before u sent it in or sent it in hoping they wouldn't notice?
I didn't tell them and they didn't ask any questions when they accepted my phone.
did you do a replacement or repair?
replacement - they send you a different nexus one and you send your back
repair - send your phone in and wait couple days/weeks for them to fit it and send it back...
which one did you do?
because I got dust in my screen and want to get it replaced. (since it has an engraving in it when I bought it used and I don't want the engraving).
I opted for the replacement.

so no problems at all? they just held an amount on your credit card then gave it back when you sent the phone back?
the dust is bothering me a little. might call and try to get a replacement.
whats the whole deal with the different screens?
ya does anyone notice any significant difference between amoled and slcd?
rather than making a new thread, I just posted on here...
whats the best way to go back to stock? stock rom, stock radio, etc... (I know the boot loader cant be locked), but htc is sending me a replacement N1 and I want to have my phone back to stock as much as possible before sending it in.
thx
Personally I'd go completely back to stock (bar the bootloader of course).

yes, how do I do this?
any step-by-step directions somewhere? ?
Download rom manager. There you can download and install the stock image easily.

Unroot Atrix to return it?

Hey guys. New around here. I know you guys are the ones to ask and just want to say thanks to everyone for all the help I've received off this site. Anyways... My Atrix is having that notorious random reboot problem. About 3 times a day and factory reset did nothing to help it. I am going to take it in tomorrow to exchange it for a new one and my question is do I have to unroot it before I take it in? Does it void the warranty? Or will they even know to look for the SuperUser app to see if it is rooted? Help would greatly be appreciated and I'm curious if anyone else has exchanged or got a refund for a rooted phone from ATT.
Thanks guys!
My first reaction would be to say that it will probably void your warranty if they catch it. Then, however, I remember the time when I returned a Captivate to AT&T for a warranty replacement which was completely modded to hell and back. I never heard anything about it.

Just run the aRoot "unroot" script. It should unroot it and remove SU

I did unroot it but wipe the phone in store for an exchange due to the LED flash light flickering problem.
if you're within the return / exchange policy window, i wouldn't bother unrooting.
i'm about 75% sure I'm returning mine for a tbolt back on vzw on thursday. I'm not unrooting / untethering / unmodding mine.. they can reflash it easily enough.
Why don't you just run that nifty program that someone made here to unroot it? I did it before returning mine; it took about 5 minutes.

Well I just returned my phone after unrooting with Super One Click and exchanged it for another one. The guy there didn't ask any questions and didn't even touch my phone except to swap SIM cards. They seemed pretty keen on the reboot problem with the Atrix. But I have my new one and it works flawless. No issues to report as of yet. Thanks for your replies guys.
i exchanged my first atrix a week ago rooted and they didnt care. rooting doesn't void your warranty...unlocking the bootlader does

You are incorrect. You have installed software and modified the OS outside of what is allowed. A factory reset will not restore, so the phone is no longer at a state it was in when delivered to the customer.
Rooting voids the warranty on phones with already unlocked bootloaders - this is no different.
Nevermind...

If the phone must be in the same state it was delivered to the customer in, then technically you couldn't install any updates or software for yourself.

Stop making it more complicated than it really is; you can return the phone after ddoing work to the phone. I have also read of people returning rooted ans jailbroken phones with no problem.

Returning it will always vary by the person who you are dealing with.
If the Unroot script is there, I'd say use it just to cover all bases.
It takes 10 seconds to use, and gives you one less thing to worry about...

Need Replacement SIM Tray: D802 = D800?

Long story short I misplaced my SIM tray for my black AT&T LG G2 D800. I saw a replacement on eBay but it says it's for the LG D802. According to my research the SIM tray should be compatible. Could anyone help to clarify this for me? Thanks so much!
Should be able to pull it off. AFAIK, the differences between the D800 and the D802 are only in the radios and the bands for LTE and that sorta thing. No hardware differences at least as far as I have checked

Thank you, that's what I was thinking as well but I was unsure and needed and extra confirmation. I appreciate it djpeesh.
Hey tokomoto, I was also stuck in the same situation . Could you please update , whether the D802 part got fitted into D800 device.

well i cant really tell but by the way its acting up it seems like it isnt a true d802. wait aand find out what they say you need to see the motherboard model/variant and thats your variant. if it says d800 then it isnt a d802. and you need to follow intruction on how to recover from from it..

before flashing this is the first thing that the user has to do. check their phone if you suspect its refurbished or bought it from like alien express ect. it should be there in big letters. ive seen this very often.

LG H910 unroot

Can someone please tell me if there is a way to unroot the 910 AT&T version. If so please direct.
I have a full dump of v10m. Are you looking to go that far back to stock, or are you just wanting to remove root?
I would LOVE to talk to you on this issue!!! I need to return to factory!
I too, have the H910. I simply have a bad motherboard in it. The camera was turned blurry when replacing the camera glass. But even after replacing the camera, it's still the same.
I'd like to get it legit enough to return for a factory replacement, with no signs of being rooted. Any way you can help? I don't care about the version, as long as it's guaranteed to work! THANK YOU!!!
