I am not able to install/flash twrp. I have tried almost all free rom installers from play store. My device is rooted using MMM method.
I tried flashify. Used the Openrecovery image file to flash the recovery. It says success but when reboot it says booting failed.
I tried ROM Installer/ROM tool box. same thing. I tried one or 2 more but those were no even showing me success screen.
I tried using command line as described in http://forum.xda-developers.com/mad...overy-twrp-2-8-2-0-recovery-mad-catz-t2973640
Unfortunatly i am not able to install windows driver even. I select the driver folder. windows say Madcatz adb interface driver found but there is no hash in the configuration file. File may be corrupt. Tried multiple times.
earlier i used MMM method to root the device and i was able to install the driver but later i had to reinstall win8.1 and after that i am not able to install the drive.
Any help is appreciated.
Sudhir
Are you using unjustified devs zip file? From the same link.
Try unzipping it to test before flashing it.

I don't know about flashify.
Other use it, ie http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59636374&postcount=1
If that fails for you, I would try the same way you used the MMM method.
The instructions are very clear:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57508892&postcount=2
And if you got MMM's root then it's the same thing more or less.
Here's me talking about the process:

Using Acer recovery install, whatever the chosen recovery I get the error "recovery verified failed", and flashing the stock 4.03 recovery I have bugdroid lying.
Using AfterOta, it freezes at step 3/5 and Blackthund3r, it stuck stage two..
I have a bootloader and ICS 4.0.3 OTA maj.
If someone has an idea, I'd be grateful

Rooted?
Yes? use AcerRI to install any recovery.
Download thor200240/digetx CWM 1.7.3.zip here
Copy zip to SD card
Reboot to recover.
Install from zip file > Choose file from SD Card
Select the zip and install.
Reboot to recover if u see CWM 1.7.3 ur set.
Full Backup
Save your cpuid (In your CWM folder on your sd card inside the backup files u just made. Should be a text file named uid.txt or cpuid.txt.)
Copy any compatible rom onto your SD card
Wipe data, cache and dalvik
Flash your rom the same way u installed the .zip file.
Thank you for your response.
Yes, I'm rooted and I already tried Acer Recovery Install without success...
I get "recovery verified failed" (in red)...

use the platformer tool link below to use adb so u dont need sdk.
Follow instructions on platformer tool download page to set up your adb
open command prompt and navigate to your platformer
cmd commands:
view available directories: dir
change directory: cd (cd desktop (forward directory example) / cd .. (up directory example))
Use this guide to install with adb
cwm: here
platformer: here
Ok, I'll try later because I can't now and I tell you !
Thanks !!
make sure your rooted too, that could be causing the issue with ari..

Hi, any help resolving this would be really appreciated. I have updated my Nexus 4 to Android 4.3 by installing through CWM. The upgrade worked fine however I cannot flash the SuperSU zip afterwards. I am using the experimental version released specifically for 4.3 however I just get the message: unable to open 'file', installation aborted (bad). I have tried to redownload in case it was a corrupt zip but I just get the same result. I have also tried reflashing 4.3 but this doesn't make a difference either. The old SuperSU is still installed but states that it has no binaries if I try to open it.
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I have been searching all evening for a solution.

Did you try flashing the latest supersu? I've flashed this one https://www.dropbox.com/s/p97y9pn4tie9iyi/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.43.zip pressed "go back" when recovery asked to fix recovery or something like that and it works just fine
Ah, The version I have is 1.41 not 1.43, although I guess I downloaded from an older post in the blog. Thank you, hopefully that will work.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Unfortunately this still hasn't worked, I have tried v1.43 of SuperSU, still failes. I have also changed my recovery from CWM to TWRP but this also fails to flash SuperSU v1.43 with the same error. Any other suggestions?
I think I have resolved this now, I had to sideload the SuperSU file on instead, so far so good.
Thanks.

I have the same issue. I also notice root explorer can't look inside zip files. It seems like whatever custom recoveries and other apps use to extract zip files is busted/removed after our 4.3 update. Is this a busybox issue? Side loading might use extraction tools on the computer instead?
I resolved this too. It turned out the super SU zip file I had grabbed for 1.43 wasn't the normal CWM/TWRP recovery package. When I looked at the zip file on my computer I noticed it contained another compressed file. I waited a few days root-less and then noticed that super SU 1.51 had been released. I used this file and it worked like it should have the first time. This package looks like the normal recovery flashable file, with the manifest and directory structure it should have. So either I grabbed the wrong file or there was a moment in time when the chainfire's site was dishing out bad files.
Glad it's working now, root is restored.

Can you elaborate, as to what exactly you did to restore the root?
As the title says, Odin3 3.07, 3.09, as well as older versions of it get stuck whenever I try to mount the AP/PDA with TWRP flashable md5. It lets me browse for the file, I double click it, it says "Check MD5" and just hangs there.
After a minute I get "Odin is not responding" as well.
It happens ONLY with TWRP so far. Flashed Lollipop without any problems, rooted it with CF-Auto-Root without problems... Just can't proceed to flash my custom recovery.
I should also mention that I tried it on my laptop AS WELL AS on my desktop PC - same issue.
Any ideas?
Also, can I flash TWRP some other way, and how?

Gah, it mounts/loads the file instantenously this way, good one. HOWEVER, after I click "Start" I get "Odin downloader has stopped working".
So the weird thing is that this is not due to my phone. I tried it on 2 different computers, with 3 different versions of Odin. What the hell is going on here, I am seriously puzzled and frustrated at the same time: :silly:
Is there a different way to flash a custom recovery on a rooted N9005 (Lollipop)?
@Misce did you run Odin as administrator? Tried another USB cable? Tried another USB port (void USB 3)? Is Kies installed on your PC and if yes, did you kill all processes with Task Manager?

Yes, I ran Odin as Administrator. I have tried different USB cables as well. And different USB ports, being that I tried on my laptop and desktop PCs. On one computer I have Kies installed, but yeah, I took every precaution. I just reflashed my Lollipop all over again and it works without any problems. Just TWRP. It. Just. Won't. Work.
Enigma. Please, don't give up on me yet. Any more ideas?

For some reason, Odin is crashing. Did you try Odin 1.85?
If you are absolutely sure of having downloaded the TWRP for your device (check md5sum) and that the file hasn't been corrupted during download, I would extract "recovery.img" and repack it into the tar file without compression (!) and try again (use 7-zip for that)
Did you extract Odin and ran exe from the same folder (contains few other, smaller scripts)? I could bet you use a 64bit system, IDK why but they love to anger with such things..,.

Yup, DL-ed the correct version of TWRP, posted here on XDA. And you are also correct, I have a 64-bit Windows 7. Good guess.
How do I extract "recovery.img"? I'm not sure how to do what you described. Could you please try going into more detail? I appreciate the effort, thank you.

Did you try by clicking the file with the right mouse button and choosing 7-zip and "extract here"?
If it didn't work, maybe there is something wrong with the md5 file. Please post the link of the site where you have downloaded it from and I will try to check the file ASAP

Sorry its too late but root your phone you have xposed modules to change the status bar and navigation bar and with a root explorer you can change boot animations and sounds, if you still want custom roms download the twrp app and flash twrp from there sorry for my bad english
I have a Samsung SM-G530A phone. I had a company install root and twrp, but I don't think it was done right. I tried to apply xposed (22 arm)and I soft bricked my phone into loading loop. I tried doing odin, but it fails when writing a recovery I found my mohan on the interweb.
Before I did this I used ChainFire and TWRP from the play store to create a backup.
I can't find this file to do a recover. Is there a way I can do that?
I saw this link that I can use a recovery image. xda forum link
Can I use that? I would like to just flash my phone back and then do TWRP the right way on the phone.
Any advice is appreciated.

Are you sideloading the zip, or maybe when you downloaded the magisk zip, your Mac automatically unzipped it so you now have a directory.
I haven't used this root method, but I use Macs once in a while, and that's one of my annoyances with one of the Macs I use.

You have to just make sure you have the magisk zip file instead of an unzipped version. Next time I'm working on a mac, I can play around to see if I can replicate your problem.
