I have a Samsung SM-G530A phone. I had a company install root and twrp, but I don't think it was done right. I tried to apply xposed (22 arm)and I soft bricked my phone into loading loop. I tried doing odin, but it fails when writing a recovery I found my mohan on the interweb.
Before I did this I used ChainFire and TWRP from the play store to create a backup.
I can't find this file to do a recover. Is there a way I can do that?
I saw this link that I can use a recovery image. xda forum link
Can I use that? I would like to just flash my phone back and then do TWRP the right way on the phone.
Any advice is appreciated.
May i have the link for twrp cos i can't install on my G530-H its running on stock 5.0.2. Thanks

I tried uninstall, but I was getting an error for the whole-file signature. So I also tried Odin and it was failing.
Is it possible to get another OS and flash the entire think to start from scratch or no.

Just use kies to restore to stock :good:
If it fails then download your whole firmware and flash via odin .

Probably didn't install correctly. Try re-installing (remember if TWRP you have to reboot into TWRP before Android) it may fix it.

Try downloading it again, check the MD5 and see what happens, (could just be a bad download) then install. -- If not head over to the TWRP thread and ask there @bigbiff is responding quickly to questions.

Are you installing with odin
Okay well, I have a GS4 GT-I 9500 on android 4.2.2 KitKat.
I updated it from 4.3 to this version when I was in Russia.
And lately, I heard of rooting and stuff so I'm a total newbie!
So, I jumped for some tutorials on the web and I learned about Pc Odin, chainfire root, and CWM recovery.
I used first a method wich involved using odin to push the CF auto-root with PDA into the phone while on download mode. I got only 'reset' but no 'pass' would show. And no supersu icon will appear in my app drawer. After lots of tires and multiple Odin version changes I succeeded in having 'pass', but nope, "no proper root access"(via root checker).
So then I used Odin to put CWM recovery in the phone and enter it to "install zip from sd card" and installed the CF auto-root . zip. Lines start to flow and ends with a "Done". Then I go back to reboot and it says something like do you want to fix root located in... before root? I tried "yes - fix root" and "no - just reboot" And both didn't fix it for me.
Finally, I tried motochopper.zip that have some files wich needed developer mode to be enabled and USB debugging. I only had to hit enter in run.bat and it starts the rooting process. But immediately says failure and gives an error like "failure supersu already available"...
I would really appreciate any help. I need my device rooted soon, please. Thanks in advance.
P.S: While on download mode, it shows that my phone status is modified. I won't mind having to force a factory reset if it'll fix something.
Thanks a lot!

there is an app called framaroot, available by searching xda or google, usually works for rooting samsung phones.
there is also a pc app called Vroot that works almost like magic, every device i plug in is rooted within 2 minutes, even without drivers!
Nope...

Framaroot doesn't support the GT-i9500 model. I also tried Vroot and it didn't work. I'm really sure it's something from the phone...

If you have Clockwork Mod Recovery on your phone now, find a Superuse.zip install package and flash that in recovery. It will work like a charm.

download & flash touch philz Recovery via Odin
then go to recovery and select re-root system > > yes apply ( Supersu )
Then download supersu from google play and he will ask you how do you want to update binary ,just click normal

Hey guys,
I'm facing a new problem.
I had my phone rooted up until yesterday, with twrp recovery and CF Autoroot. Since i knew the procedure of rooting my phone very well (I've done it a couple of times on my phone and had the necessary files stored on my pc) i performed a factory reset. As you can unserstand the superSU app was deleted, so i said ok, lets flash it again.
This time though, twrp just won't flash the file. It just won't. It gives me a red letter error, "could not find meta inf/com/google/android..."
I don't understand. I did the exact same procedure about a month ago. It worked on my first try. What's up with it now?

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy J5 using XDA Labs
Hey all.
I'm in need of a bit of help. I have a J5 and was getting sick of being told theres never any space to install apps, so I rooted it hoping to be able to remove the stock apps that come inbuilt like word, excel etc.... Anyway, I then decided to take it a step further and try and install a custom rom, long story short, im stuck with a green screen
I've been googling and following tutorials for hours now and I'm really at the point of giving up, so thought I would reach out incase i'm just over tired from it all and making silly mistakes.
I have TWRP 3.1.1-0 on my phone, I installed Lineage 14.1 figured out how to change the updater-script, green screen. I then installed a stock rom advanced I found here, green screen. I tried Aokp nightly nougat, green screen. After googling green screen I found a post saying its something to do with incompatibility from TWRP and that I need to install lollipop 5.1.1 firmware first before I can change to lilneage 14.1... Ive been googling for ages and I'm either coming to sites that want me to pay to download it at a reasonable speed or wait for hours. I'm a bit dubious as no other rom seems to have worked and I'm not sitting here with an empty phone.
Thanks.

Flashing LP / MM / N ROMs based on AOSP/LOS over stock MM/ROMs based on stock MM --> green screen.
How to flash MM/N ROMs based on AOSP/LOS:
1) Install 5.1.1 stock firmware.
2) Install TWRP 5.1.1 (Nick's or Vince's).
3) Flash the MM/N ROM you want.

Did you flash the official SuperSU module from the lineage site?
No, I used Odin with the cf autoroot for my device.
I had problems with cf auto root, particularly the green screen on boot, try flashing the supersu from their site.
Tried it, used first one on the site, installed okay but can't see the su app anywhere, then tried the x86 version in case but wouldn't install.
Oh never mind, had to enable dev mode and enable root for apps and adb first, there is no actual app. I ran another app and it asked for root permission.

Commonly TWRP will not install if you're using a version incompatible with the device, check to make sure. You should always have the original stock frimware on hand in case anything goes wrong. If you do encounter difficulties such as bootloops you can basically start over by flashing in the stock firmware in download mode via Odin3. Sometimes after flashing it may take a while for the device to fully boot up, I've had some take hours.
