I tried to flash android l onto my lg g2 but when i did it only booted into fast boot mode so i did some thing where i went into cmd and transferred img files and removed the phones files. This is where i went wrong. Now i can only boot into download mode and security error bootloop. So what i did first is i tried to flash the dll through lg flash tools and there was a model error so i used this other file as the dll which ignored the model number and all i get is an error. I have has this for like a month and i sent my phone to lg twice and they didn't fix anything. I really screwed up and need help PLEASEE!!!

Does your download mode screen have 5 blue dots on it? Or does it say 'firmware update' with a couple arrows and a progress bar sitting at 0%

It has the 5 dots and then it switches to the firmware update screen.

Well that seems fortunate. You flashed the wrong rom initially so the phone is being recognized as a different variant. Do you know what you specifically flashed that caused all these issues?

Doesn't quite give us what we need. Do you have a link to the exact rom perhaps?

My LG G2 att variant would not boot after installing Grievous RSL 4.0. I believe I had the wrong twrp installed. I am stuck and cannot boot to android. I can boot to download mode but lg flash tools does no good because the model number does not match and says it is d802. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I cannot boot to recovery. Check if you have adb access when you are on black screen.

No adb or fastboot access with the black screen. I have tried all night. Idk what else to do. I did the Linux option and now it says null next to imei and product number is blank when trying lg flash tool. For some reason I cannot get the lg launcher program to work either...

I know how to fix this, Ive got the same problem once before.
Download FlashTool.1.0.54, start UpTestEX and choose CS_EMERGANCY in PhoneMode in the top right cornor and take CDMA as type to the left.
And flash the right .kdz file for your model.
It will work. Cheers!

Yesterday I updated my Rogers LG G2, I was rooted and had exposed installed, the install didn't work, the download did but then I hit install and now its stuck on a black screen with
Fastboot mode started
udc_start()
I was informed by a Rogers guy that I didn't have a OS anymore, I tried to reboot the phone and also tried to go into download mode, the phone isn't allowing me to do either.
What can I do?

Looks to me like you flashed a rom containing wrong kernel, or no kernel at all (so you can choose your variant).
Try looking in rom thread for your phone version
Really? ya it was the 4.4.2 kitkat update from Rogers that I downloaded and installed, now its not working

it seems like the phone is completely blank now. with nothing on it .. no partitions anything.
Maybe you should charge your phone and downloand the drivers and setup on your pc. Than try to flash kdz
when you try entering download mode is it entering dld mode or are there just the blue circles ?
Hi there,
I installed the LG software update app, and when I plugged in my phone it did some checking and said that there was an update available.
So I clicked OK, waited for ages for the kdz package to download, and then it started the update.
Problem is, it gets to 14% on the phone screen (20% on my computer) and then it hangs for a while. Eventually the PC app says "upgrade stopped due to an error". Now my phone is constantly stuck on the Firmware Upgrade screen, even when I restart it, and I can't even ADB onto it, or use Linux to view it (as mentioned in a different post).
I can't get into download mode or recovery mode... just this Firmware Upgrade screen.
Any ideas what I can do? I stupidly thought that - as it was an official upgrade - it wouldn't screw up my phone... how stupid do I feel ???
Anything I can try? My phone is an LG G2 International (D802) version.
Thanks a lot,
JM

Hi there,
Nope - can't get into any other mode than this "Update" mode... gonna try a few tools. Was trying to salvage my stuff, but it's not the end of the world to wipe it.
Thanks,

Problem solved! Try the .TOT method shown here:

The .KDZ method didn't work for me, from this post or any other. The .TOT method worked first time!
I seem to have encountered quite the predicament. My VS995 doesn't boot any more. It shows the "Your device is corrupt. It cannot be trusted, and will not boot" message that it always has, but then it reboots and shows it again, and repeats that process forever. I cannot boot into TWRP or Fastboot mode, but Download mode still works. Upon entering download mode, the little box at the bottom says "633A B50 Modified" and the loading bar says 0%. I don't have a Windows computer (all my computers run some variant of Linux Mint) and have been using a Windows 7 VM in VirtualBox. Device manager and LG Flash Tool recognize the phone, but LG Flash Tool fails to flash it at 4% claiming an "RX Timeout" error no matter what I do with it, and the little box in the phone's download mode changes to say "633A B25 Modified." LGUP (with or without Uppercut) simply says "Unknown [COM41,]" followed by "You must select a known model, please."
I tried following this guide (https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/guide-lg-v20-to-life-t3827732) and several others around the internet to no avail. Does anybody have any idea if this phone can be saved? Or is it destined to the dump?
Since you still get the "device is corrupt" message, you still have the engineering aboot, so you have full fastboot.
Download the KDZ for you phone and extract it. (Search, there are lots of good posts on extracting KDZs)
Boot to fastboot. With the phone off, hold vol DOWN and plug in the USB cable.
fastboot flash twrp.img recovery
fastboot reboot
Then use the key combo to try and get to TWRP. If you can't then you probably have a hardware problem (bad NAND).
Whatever you do, don't do anything that will overwrite aboot or you have a 0% chance of fixing your phone.

You boot into fastboot by holding volume down and plugging the phone into a computer, correct? Whenever I do that it just shows the "device is corrupt" screen and does the reboot loop. I can only ever get to download mode.
Try this no guaranty it will work start LG up on your computer plug in device then remove battery from device and then reboot your computer without killing LG up then put battery back in phone and restart LG up......see what happens.

For reference, I bought it used (but tested working) on eBay a month ago. First, the SD slot corrupted my SD card and then started saying the SD was not compatible with the phone. Then the SIM slot stopped reading the SIM, so I restored a backup I had made a couple days ago in TWRP and it didn't fix it. I tried dirty flashing the ROM, then clean flashing a few other ROMs, but nothing fixed either slot. After a little more of this flashing, I rebooted and the phone started doing this.
It sounds like with the flashing you did, you restored the stock aboot while you still had a modified recovery (TWRP) and modified boot (rooted) .. that is the reason you can only get to download mode -- since laf wasn't modified.
The RX timeout you are getting sounds like you have a marginal USB port or cable, you need to try flashing on another PC, and don't use VBox. I think you can still save your phone...

If your bootloader is unlocked then you can fix your phone, if not then i had the same problem, repaired it from market, I think he used some kind of box(maybe octopus) and got it fixed.

I installed Windows 7 onto a laptop and installed the programs on it. LG Flash Tool still failed at 4% claiming the KDZ and DZ didn't support something (I couldn't read it because the box was too small and it didn't scroll) but LGUP via Uppercut recognized the phone and flashed it! The phone booted to a screen with a big red 2 on it, then I reflashed it with the same KDZ in LGUP and it booted, but now it's bootlooping. I waited about 20 minutes and it didn't boot beyond the Verizon boot animation.

It sounds like you have a hardware problem with the NAND chip on your phone. That is the only thing that makes sense as to why you were able to get it to boot, but now it bootloops.
The data on the NAND is good enough for one boot, but then becomes corrupt....

Could the bad NAND have also caused the SIM and SD slots to stop functioning, or did the phone just basically disintegrate in my hands?
The firmware could have had problems, or whatever hardware failure messed up your NAND also toasted those.

I was hoping there was a solution to Kiraisuki's post as I having similar symptoms with my phone.
My V20 is a US996 BPT with a locked boot-loader. Mine will crash apps, stop at 4% via LG Flash, then reboot into "Your device is corrupt. It cannot be trusted" then lock into the LG logo until I pull the battery 3 or 4 times forcing a restart. I also have the same results with LG Bridge.
Does the NAND chip itself fail or could the chip be reflowed to the board with a little precision work?
